I was craving an all star and stopped by here on my way to the mall. The place was busy when I got here but I was lucky that there was one booth available. One dirty booth. I sat on the side that didn't have dishes and waited for someone to clean the other side off. Eventually the annoyed waitress cleared the dishes off but no one ever cleaned the actual table. I knew exactly what I wanted and didn't need any time to ponder. The waitress took our order and came back twice to ask what we ordered. This place was freezing. Way colder than it was outside. I could literally see my breath while I talked. It was so cold that I sat on the same side of the booth as the one other person that was with me for warmth. It was that bad. My waffle came out way before the rest of my food. I finished the whole thing before my other food arrived. Both syrup containers at the table were super dirty and the ketchup at the table was empty. My food tasted fine, typical Waffle House style so I guess the best thing to do is get this to go. I didn't even take pictures of my food I was in such a hurry to get outta this ice box.

It's a Waffle House. Food was great and it came out super quick. The reason for the 5 stars was the amazing service we received. Fabian our server was super up beat and inviting. It's a Waffle House.

Yumm! It's fast and the service is great. It's also clean.

Best service I ever received from not only Waffle House but maybe ever. Our server Choyena was so personable and kind.

House made Pastrami was delicious-go with the 1 lb (buy the pound) Pastrami sandwich -at least 2 if not 3 sandwiches in one. Corned Beef was also tasty and some of the best we've had. Latkas and Dill potato salad hit the spot but the Garlic Dill fries stole the show-one of a kind and not to be missed. For dessert, we saw they had Hamantaschen and got one of each-both very good with rich fruit spread topping. Service was engaged and patient (given our questions and recommendation requests) as our order was being placed. An extensive menu with everything from Beef tongue sandwich (Jewbano) to Chicken Liver as well Hot Dogs and Smoked Salmon and Whitefish. We wanted it all! Liked the atmosphere and decor with booth and bar stool seating. A must stop when visiting Richmond!

My daughter's friend, who is Jewish, had recommended it. We were told there was a 25 minute wait, and we were told we could hang out at the store next door. Just as we were done wandering, our table was called. I had the corned beef sandwich, toasted, and a side of potato salad. My wife had the chopped chicken liver appetizer and the potato latke appetizer. The food was very good and the service was friendly and efficient. I would definitely go again. They close at 3 pm and are NOT open for dinner.

The prices were extremely reasonable. I got the ham, cheese and egg on a biscuit with an arugula side salad. For the price, the portions were absolutely huge! Service was fast and friendly. It wasn't too crowded on a Wednesday morning and we were seated immediately. The place is fairly small but the light decor makes it feel less cramped. We got there on a Sunday morning, the entrance was full but we were eventually helped and put of a 35 minute waiting list. We decided to go for a stroll and check out a couple blocks worth of sites and then got back in our car to decide just what we wanted. I was feeling fancy drink wise and got the mimosa flight and I wanted something simple for brunch so I got the eggs on a biscuit sandwich with open face ham. It was delicious. I wish GERD didn't exist, but it does so I had to limit how much more of the mimosa flight I could drink because acid reflux burns like hell. I also wanted to try the biscuit with gravy so I got a side of it. The biscuit was the most amazing biscuit I've ever tried, they were flaky, moist, doughy, and crumbly all at the same time. My husband got the sweet heat sandwich and it was fantastic. Perfect crunch, and the mix of flavors is perfect. He also got an espresso martini and it was hands down one of the best that I've tried. This would've been a 5 star review had it not been for our server. I didn't hear his name...in fact I could barely hear him. His face was disinterested and his voice was monotoned as if he were doing this as a punishment. He never checked in to see how we were doing, never gave us silverware (the other server who brought us our food got some for us), and another server had to flag him down for us so we could the check. Overall really great food but our waiter kind of ruined it. Wish I could've heard his name...or anything at all.

Try a Spanish pan con tomate with one of these slices slightly toasted, with a rub of garlic, salt, and good e.v. olive oil, and you'll be happy as a clam. (What does that even mean?) Or use said previously frozen slices as a dessert treat with your sleepy time tea, toasted with butter and good local raw honey drizzled on it. Bathrooms are very clean. Our entrees were equally as tasty. I ordered the salmon and it was done well! My only personal preference would be to swap the green beans for the collards next time--the green beans just weren't cooked quite the way I prefer. That said, everything else was really enjoyable. Overall, a great meal at an equally great price. We were pleasantly surprised to walk out for under $65 without ordering drinks. Definitely felt like a great value, and we'd happily come back!

I got the Shorti Bowl, which is eggs and meat over cheese grits. It was good but I just wanted the cheese grits to commit a little harder to the cheese. The meat itself was good too, although it did feel a bit like a piece of meat had been plopped in the middle rather than everything really coming together as a dish. My husband got the sandwich with basically the same kind of meat, and somehow it was both a LOT of sandwich and not a lot of sandwich at the same time. It looked impressive as a Katz's-esque pile of meat, but once you actually got into it, it was mostly meat, bread and pickles. I kept expecting some sauce or another topping to show up and it just...didn't. Also a little unwieldy to eat, although I guess that's part of the territory when your sandwich is 70% meat. I think Lunch Supper sits in a funny middle ground between classic diner/brunch food and a more modern version of it. Nothing we had was bad, but for some of their more popular dishes I guess I expected a little more oomph if that makes sense (and yes I tried adding hot sauce). I'd still happily come back with friends, especially to sit outside. I just think I'd be coming back more for the vibes vs the food.

The parking lot is small, and there is a pothole in the alley near the parking lot entrance that will bottom out an SUV. Apparently, there is additional parking, but we didn't see it in the dark. The restaurant is cozy, Hawaiian-themed, and clean. We were seated within moments of entering the host's periphery, and received menus and ice water within minutes. I had the poke bowl last time, and I remember it being chilled and gently flavored. The avocado and spicy mayo did a lot of the heavy lifting. It was filling and very healthy. My partner enjoyed the Ipanema Sandwich last time we visited. This time around we snacked on the fried halloumi (fried cheese and mint yogurt dip) and Lumpia, taquito-type beef rolls, with sweet and sour dip. We absolutely demolished the coconut cream pie for dessert. The pie was so delicate and lovely that even my partner enjoyed it, a typical coconut detractor. I recommend Little Nickel to anyone looking to try something unique and ambitious that veers from the well-trodden culinary path. The staff here were courteous and helpful, the restaurant was clean, and the food was firing on all cylinders.
