I found this to be refreshing to say the least. The restaurant is fun and decorative. Eggs Up Grill is easy to describe. It's your basic fare breakfast food; DONE RIGHT. You don't need to re-invent the wheel or offer over the top egg's benedicts with flavored mimosas. Sometimes we Americans just want a classic diner breakfast, but have it done well. I am we have ordered from here many times last year and they have consistently provided very good food. We have a "usual" order and have not been disappointed at all. The flavored drinks are good as well. The strawberry spritzer is tasty. I did not care for their flavored coffee as the creamer was heavy and overpowered the drink. I believe they the only issue would be an inconsistency with their omelette that includes avocado as sometimes it comes sliced and other times it's mashed. Our server Leonna was very sweet and had great recommendations. The food is delicious and they give you a lot. I got the loaded home fry bowl with bacon and my husband got a pancake and French toast. When the food came, I got Shrimp and grits, the over-seasoned "sauce" was plentiful and very concentrated and the shrimp was beyond overcooked. Down right chewy... very chewy. We are frequent travelers to Myrtle Beach and really enjoyed Eggs Up Grill when we are there so we were excited that one was opening in Midlothian. While we enjoy First Watch right down the street, as far as it goes with variety of choices and affordability Eggs Up Grill is it. We've been here twice at this point and our family has thoroughly enjoyed our experience. Your normal breakfast fare... waffle, eggs, sausage, bacon, biscuit, pancake, grits. For a family of 4 it is much cheaper than First Watch and you get more food. I have to say I really enjoyed the Shrimp and Grits, so much food I split it into two meals. The kid's activity sheet is clutch if you have children, totally occupied both my kids each time we went... the best part is, it can be a different sheet each time... not sure if it is just two different sheets and my kids just happened to each get the one they didn't get the first time we were there, but regardless it provided them entertainment. Went to Eggs up grill on a Sunday for brunch. There was a 20 minute wait which really is bad for the weekend. Ambiance was really chill and not too loud. Host who greeted us were really nice. I ordered the everything French toast with bacon and eggs. The French toast were okay and wasn't anything special. It tasted like hints of garlic for some reason. I love fewer things more than a good lunch/brunch spot and the Eggs Up Grill more than delivered! While a chain, it didn't feel like it with cool colored decor and kitschy breakfast-themed wall art (including an egg counter). Was quoted 25-30 for a party of 4 and was sat in 20. The menu is extensive and has a great mix of breakfast staples, tasty lunch options, and cool spins on old traditions. Given how broad the menu is, the fam and I decided to try a little bit of everything. We started with the Grilled Biscuit & Gravy appetizer and the grilled biscuits were nice and buttery without being greasy. The sausage gravy was thinner than I typically like, with big hunks of cubed sausage patties (I generally prefer crumbles). All in, the biscuits were good but the gravy wasn't; wouldn't get this again. As a connoisseur of corned beef hash and eggs benedict, the Hash Benedict was an easy choice for me. The hash was super flavorful without being too salty and the eggs were perfectly poached. The accompanying breakfast potatoes had a great flavor, but were unevenly cooked -- bigger hunks were a bit firm and the smaller pieces were a bit mushy. This was a great dish and would definitely order again. The wife is more of a lunch person and went with the Cheesesteak Melt. Super good decision on her part! Like the biscuits, the bread was buttery without being greasy and the steak, onion, and mushroom mixture was rich and flavorful. The French Fries were perfectly cooked and crispy. Great sandwich! My oldest daughter went with the Everything French Toast and -- WOAH -- what a cool concept! It looked like French Toast and tasted like an everything bagel! For best results, I recommend constructing each individual bite with a little bit of everything on the plate to get a good balance of the cream cheese, French Toast, and eggs. Awesomely creative dish and would definitely get this again! Truthfully, we couldn't decide between the Banana Pudding French Toast and the Caramel Apple Pancakes so naturally, we got both. The Banana Pudding French Toast was light and delicate with a smooth and creamy filling/topping and just the right amount of sliced bananas. The Caramel Apple Pancakes were sticky sweet and almost had the consistency of griddle cakes (think Cracker Barrel's pancakes), which held up well against the heavy toppings. While heavier than the Banana Pudding French Toast, I think I liked the pancakes better but would get both again. We had fantastic service throughout and didn't have to ask for a single refill on drinks despite being seated in the middle of Saturday morning rush. After I lost my breakfast staple in The Egg & I, this place may be my new go-to. Definitely recommend! read more

We have been going to eggs up since before they came to Richmond. We have always had a great experience. This time it was a big disappointment. First the waitress was all over the place and the food was lacking. The potato's were hard on the outside and not cooked well on the inside after i asked to make sure they are. the grit had no taste. My scrambled eggs were actually fried and my daughter asked for her omlet meal to be replaced due to no taste and they refused. This location has really gone downhill. We will not be dining at this location again we will wait until we visit Myrtle beach as they have never disappointed. The sad thing is it was the owner that denied the replacement of the food and he never even came over. We never asked to not pay just to be replaced. read more
