Waffle House has become an iconic presence on the culinary landscape here in the southeastern United States. It seems that their familiar logo beckons in all of its bright yellow neon glory road-weary travelers, partying college kids, parents with kids in tow, hungry workers seeking a casual and quick sit-down meal and just about everyone else from every walk of life. Since Waffle House opened its first location back on September 5, 1955 in Avondale Estates, Georgia, it quickly established itself by offering a consistent selection of food and by being open twenty-four hours a day. For me, the biggest appeal of Waffle House has always been their hash browns, which you can get basic or topped with a variety of toppings such as chili, white sausage gravy, cheese, ham, onions and so many more items and you can combine these toppings in a multitude of ways. For my main course, I have usually gone with their patty melts or one of their egg breakfast options. I myself can see the strangeness that I have never having a waffle and a business where waffle is in their very name, but I prefer a more savory breakfast than a sweet one. If you are in the southeast United States, odds are you have probably passed a Waffle House location. It seems that they are on almost every major highway exit ramp and strategically placed throughout most cities and towns in the southeast. If you see one, give them a try. read more

Started out not having enough coffee for 5 people. Finally got a coffee and it was decaf. Next we ask if we could order some food. After they decided who would take our order it was total confusion. After an hour waiting for our food, the first plate showed up with COLD hash browns and burnt toast on the patty melt. At that point we decided that we would be better off going elsewhere. This location needs a total revamp of workers. Will not recommend this to anyone. As a matter of fact, we told all of the EMT's probably 12, to go down the road to firehouse subs if they wanted to eat today. If they had negative star ratings, I would be kind and only give them a -5. read more

I've finally came across a Waffle House that actually knows how to make food correctly! The staff was GREAT that women in their don't play and i have NEVER seen anyone with OUTSTANDING SERVICE LIKE HERS. I go to a lot of waffle house across america as i travel a lot for business. And this location is the best location i have yet to experience so far. I came in around 9/10 am for my usual breakfast and i was blown away by the great customer service and the speedy service that they provided. If i am in the area this will be the only waffle house i go to. The manager is the best manager i have ever seen manage a restaurant to make sure all customers were satisfied. Give her a raise . Really enjoyed my visit here and loved that it was conveniently located by my hotel. I could almost walk there. Almost being the key word. Their phone busy so I ended up having to walk in and order which wasn't a biggie. They weren't busy so the wait wasn't long. I was happy to see that all of the workers were wearing masks with the exception of one. She had it on but it was under her chin. No gloves were worn by the wait staff but the cook did have on gloves. The young lady that assisted me was super nice and knowledgeable. I ordered the all star breakfast meal and it was absolutely divine. The cook put his heart and soul into my meal. I ate every last bit of it too. Lol. Apparently this is a tale of two waffles. I have only visited this location during evening hours and have been SORELY disappointed each and every time, I would offer to the point of no return. I could cite a plethora of reasons but perhaps attitudes will speak volumes. One visit our male server, never greeted us, just walked up, with menus in hand and placed them on the table, did not even acknowledge us, then walked off and came back order book in hand and simply stood by our table, again no acknowledgement, just stood there, I had to prompt him to even get a nod, never refilled drinks, never asked how our food was, to be blunt, just shit service (sorry) Tried again, weeks later and again, another nightmare. I took the time to look at the reviews and saw several good ones, which really confused me. All I could come up with was that ,out of their three shifts, two are poor and one is good. Ordered grilled chicken burger,hash brown with a tea.My wife ordered angus burger and water.Burgers were so greasy buns were flat and greasy angus had bad taste my my grilled chicken came with burnt bacon.Tables were dirty menus were stuck to the table and wet greasy.Other than that waitress good service. The lady making my burger was absolutely shameless. She was taking out the trash while making my food and I asked her to change her gloves before touching my buns and she flipped out. Someone needs to get the health department over here ASAP. She was fat and filthy . and the people working here are the worse. If you hate your job . Get a different one. Cold when you walk in-bring a jacket. We are not familiar with Waffle Houses as we ate at one once about 10 years ago. Loud hip hop music greeted you when you walked in. The greetings were there but a little hard to hear over the music. Either we got used to it or it was turned down before we finished eating. Surprisingly the food was better than we expected. Scrambled eggs were perfect, steak was tasty and waffle was good too. Nothing spectacular but decent. We walked in and no one spoke. Tables and menus were dirty and sticky. The waitress took 5 minutes to take our order. She walked over to a policeman that came in after us and took his order right away. He got his food before she came over to take our order. I never got my waffle and the crew members never came back to ask how we were doing. When we finally got someone's attention she said okay but the waffle never came. When we were ready to go, she explained the waffle was almost done, but we were done with our food. We asked for a military discount and she denied it, but that might be truthful, not too sure. Hungry for breakfast at 2pm while traveling so Waffle House we went! Our waitress was very welcoming, attentive and sweet. We ordered the All Star specials and added pecans to the waffles. Lots of food for the price couldn't finish it all. Eggs weren't over medium but all was pretty tasty. This is an older building (so not the cleanest nor up to date) not the new architecture they're building these days at WH. Night crew was absolutely terrible! The waitress didn't greet us, give us menus and gave me a dirty glass. And looked pissed when asked for a straw. She didn't even say anything to us until we were already sitting for 10 minutes. Absolutely terrible. Definitely don't recommend going at night with this crew on duty. read more

Terrible service and nasty booth. Only one couple seated when we arrived a few minutes ago. We walked in past 8 employees sitting at the counter talking and on their cell phones and no one greeted us. We sat at the table for about 5 minutes and not one of the 8 employees came to our table or even acknowledged we were there. We decided to leave, it was so uncomfortable. As we were leaving one of the employees sitting on a stool at the counter looked up from her phone and said "have a nice day". Wow what a further slap in the face to an already uncomfortable situation being ignored. We will never return. read more

Perfect Waffle House. Very friendly folks with smiles, greeting everyone as they walked in. I had covered and chunked hash browns, cheese grits and wheat toast, everything just right. Boyfriend had 2 egg breakfast with grits, toast and sausage. Eggs over medium cooked great. Didn't think to take a picture until we had finished!
