They have tons of options for everyone with my favorites being the chicken tender Mac and cheese bowl and the star of the show, THE JAR DESSERTS! I did not realized they had such a nice indoor and outdoor seating area, but they also have a drive through. So you can eat in or take out with ease! The service is quick and allows you to eat in a hurry or sit and chat for for a while. read more

The entryway was a little small though. Can imagine if quite a few people show up at the same time it could be a little crowded. The staff was polite and quick. Overall, the fries were a little old. Had my first taste of chicken tenders from Slim Chickens at a charity event. The chicken tenders were pretty tasty. I tried them again when I actually went to the location on Monroe Street for lunch with several of my co-workers. The menu is not that expansive - there is something to be said about sticking with what you know! I am not really one who craves fried chicken fingers, but sometimes, I am in the mood for them. I will plan to visit again, especially since I know this establishment is big on giving back to the community. I may try the wings next time! read more

This location just opened 2 days before my visit. They have been extremely busy since opening. Despite how busy they were inside and in the drive-thru, service was very fast. They offered a free chicken sandwich if you joined their rewards program and downloaded their app. I took them up on this offer. I got the Cayenne Ranch Chicken sandwich, Mac and cheese, and a sweet tea. The sandwich was excellent overall. The cayenne ranch sauce is amazing. It is not too spicy. Just the right amount of heat for me, and I do not like spicy. I ordered my sandwich without the crispy onions and Lettuce. I will definitely order this sandwich again. The Mac and cheese was good for fast food. Better than other fast food places. Their sweet tea is great. Not too sweet, just right. This location is a short walk from my office, so I will return. Okay! So I came here for lunch with my husband with literally no expectations. We ordered our food at 2:18 PM and didn't get our order until 3:04 PM. We ordered (2) 6wing combos and a 5&5 combo (5 wings and 5 tenders). What I'm going to say is that they definitely have some kinks that they need to work out. I feel like when they opened/built they didn't expect the crowd they had. The drive through was wrapped around the building so we opted to go inside and order. It was a bit hectic because where the door is in relation to the registers, there isn't much room for the row they had. The young lady took out to-go order and we went over to get our drinks. They were out of their Peach Tea, as well as the Diet Coke. The young lady made us a new batch of peach tea but we waited, and waited and waited some more until we realized that many of the people who came in after us had already gotten their food and left. After waiting almost an hour (no exaggeration) the food was not even hot, which was a HUGE disappointment. We'd probably go back, but I'd give it some time for them to work out some kinks before we do. read more

This was my first visit to Slim chickens. I was very pleased to see a grilled chicken tender option. It came with very nicely cooked french fries and Texas toast and dipping sauce. If I didn't see the previous reviews I would've thought it was their first day open. my initial impression was when I turned in the back, where they have a entrance sign, and seeing it was a one way, and having their employee in the pink jacket sitting by the dumpsters a little after 1 pm call me and the other customers dumb asses, and blind even though we were turning around. After getting in I it was very cluttered inside, and not really any room to move due to the layout, so wouldn't recommend dining in or coming in if you're worried about COVID or something. I believe it took about 15-20 minutes to get the food, and it kind of took me awhile to hear for my order, since despite the cashiers giving us little signs with our numbers on them they were calling out the meals ordered, instead of the numbers they had on the receipts, also I didn't like how it seemed that they didn't have a drink machine behind the counter, so the cashiers were constantly having to go through the already crowded area to get drinks for the customers in their cars. But as far as the food, I got the chicken tenders and fries, the chicken tenders and bread were ok, and the fries were really plain. What I really hated though was the sauce, I had the slim sauce since it's their signature sauce, but it was more like a tomato paste of some sort with no taste really. I literally held it upside down and it wouldn't drip down. I imagine if the sauce was good the rest of the food could've been good, but that was a fail. read more

I tried a couple of timers before actually stopping by. The line was overwhelming the first couple of weeks. You'd have thought Luther had come back from the dead to serenade Michelle Obama with the lines extending everywhere!!! I was able to sneak into a parking space and walk in to order. It was still brisk & bizzee! They're still trying to figure out how to coordinate the numbers they give you to the waiting customers. Food: Tenders are a decent size, seasoned well and tender! They're not hard and they're pretty good!!! Wings are small and just ok. I won't try them again, I just think that's how they do them but I won't do them, again. Sandwich is pretty good and the only negative is the pickle so that's ok. Lemonade - excellent!!! Excellent! Fries ...... they need work. They're neither seasoned well or crispy BUT I'll try them, again! I'm good with the tenders or chicken sandwich and a large lemonade. Waited about 30-35 minutes on a rainy Saturday night. I was actually waiting for a the rain to past which prompted me to get in the line. I went on the line on the outside and it moved appropriately. Once I actually ordered it was only about 5 to 10 minutes before I actually made it to the window and I was able to get my order. The staff was very gracious. I ordered the kids meal with chicken tenders, a wing meal and a crispy chicken club sandwich. I upgraded one side to the mac & cheese instead of fries and one drink to a milkshake for an additional 1.99 each. My entire meal for three came to around 30 bucks. Everything tasted good. It might have been better had I eaten it right after getting it versus riding another 15 minutes back to the house. The mac & cheese was just OK as well as the fries were quite bland as others have said. The sandwich was pretty tasty. I enjoyed the tenders and the wings as well, but nothing overly special. Sauces were solid too. I tried the honey bbq and honey mustard. I would return based on the fact that this is a black-owned establishment and there are other items on the menu I'd like to try. Pretty busy for a Saturday late lunch. Opted to do takeout, since it was a little chaotic inside. The service was friendly but you can tell they are working out some kinks. The sandwich and wrap had great flavor and we really enjoyed. Fries were just okay, kind of bland and needed more seasoning or salt. I've had better fried chicken in cafeterias and burger joints. Fries are nothing special. Actually - they're fairly tasteless. I'd been to Slim Chicken's near U of Arkansas in Fayetteville 10 or 12 years ago. Anxiously awaited the opening in Tally. Waited for all the hoopla hand hour long waits to subside. We visited Fri and Sat this past week. Brand new building and pristine! Squeaky Clean too. Friday - wife ordered the Chicken n Waffle, I ordered a 4 tender basket w fries for myself. Food arrived maybe 8-10 minutes later. Everything was as advertised - hot, juicy, crispy and delicious. The waffle was so light and airy! I didn't care for Slim sauce but kicked it up a notch by mixing in some hot Buffalo sauce. Went back yesterday with a friend. We ordered and paid then headed to a booth. Hadn't even gotten our beverages and the food arrived. He got 4 piece tender basket w fries, I got the crispy chicken sandwich with slaw. Friend loved the Slim sauce. Chicken sandwich was moist and tender. The spread on the grilled brioche bun - delicious. Slaw was cold, crisp and nicely dressed. Because the food arrived before we sat down, I knew it couldn't have been cooked to order as advertised. Everything was luke warm. Just like the Golden Arches. Disappointed with second visit. Got a jar dessert and a milkshake and will not be back to this location. Been here a couple times to pick up other peoples orders and it never seems to be staffed and waited 20+ minutes for an Oreo milkshake just for the front guy to come ask me what I was waiting for like he forgot.
