Takeout dinner this evening and it was decent. The wings weren't particularly meaty and they were definitely swimming in sauce but tasty. A spicy and sweet "hot" sauce poured over fried wings. They were ready very quickly which tells me that they know how many customer's they're going to have. I'm a fan of not waiting. It place was quite busy with a clearly organized queue for where to go to order, where to pick up and how to leave. Hooray for social distancing. We were a bit skeptical since they didn't have a phone number or an option to order online, but we thought we'd give them a shot. Good decision! When I arrived to place our order (8 different types of wings) the staff was very personable. The fact that they got the order right the first time (especially with eight different varieties, some with and some without fries and in different quantities) was a big plus. The wait was honestly only about 10 minutes, which was also better than I expected. We tried: BBQ Med BBQ Hot BBQ Teriyaki Garlic Parmesan Med Lemon Pepper Honey Hot Honey Mustard Ranch Rub Honestly, they were all really good - flavors were great. The Hot BBQ and the Hot Honey Mustard were indeed very hot BUT with a great flavor. Too many times the heat is there but without flavor - these guys got both perfectly. The seasoned fries - meh - not bad, not great - nothing to write home about. If you're looking for wings - this place has many different flavors and based on our order - they were great. They would have gotten a '5' star except for two things - lack of a web site to order on (we looked - it may be somewhere be wrong couldn't find it) and the fact that you can only have up to 10 'all flats' in one order. Ordered the wing special with 10 wings, fries and a drink. This place stays crowded, so I think the key is to order your food online in advance. Though there were quite a few people waiting, I was able to walk in and walk out within minutes. The wings are really good. Crisp and with really interesting flavors. I noticed their Tallahassee location pop up recently and couldn't find it in on Yelp; so, of course, I had to check it out! Walking in, I was a little disappointed by the typical fast food interior (disrupted here and there by bible verse wall art), so I decided to get my food to go. Turns out, your food comes in styrofoam regardless of whether you're eating in or not. The menu is small: wings, chicken strips and fried fish. There are a handful of meal deals. I got the #6 (fish and 5 wings, $10). You get 3 choices of fish (whiting, catfish and something or other). There are 3 or 4 kinds of wing sauces and each sauce comes in variations of spiciness. Staff were friendly and seemed happy to be there. Food took less than 10 minutes to come out despite several people being ahead of me. Pros: The food was good and reasonably priced. Wait time was minimal. Staff were friendly. Location is convenient and easy to get in and out of. Cons: The interior is bland, so this is a grab and go place for sure. The food was good but sort of meh. And there was a roach in the bathroom. Bottom line: I wish the business owners the best, but I probably won't be back. Have heard several people mention that ATown wings are the best wings in town! Wanted to give them a try; picked up order; decent wings for sure; lots of different sauces; pretty "meaty" wings. We ordered garlic parmesan, teriyaki, sweet chili, hot lemon pepper, and carolina gold. All of the wings were tasty, though the hot lemon pepper was a tad bit salty to me. Nothing spectacular about the fries that came with the order, but they went well with the wings. They are so nice and offer you extra sauces and seasonings when you get your wings. And you don't wait too long, unless you get extra crispy wings (which I recommend). The ambience is super chill. I have gone after work wearing nice clothing and I've also gone in leggings and an oversized sweatshirt not put together at all and didn't feel out of place either time. First time here. We read the reviews and decided to try it. We ordered the Philly cheesesteak with wings and fries, 20 piece with fries and #2. We had Carolina hold, garlic Parmesan, lemon pepper and honey garlic pepper. The chicken was tender and moist. Most times when you eat wings you have dip them in ranch, but these you did not need ti dip. While sitting in the restaurant we witnessed about 75 people walk in and pick up orders. Well well well A-Town is going down. The wings at both locations had a nice portion size to them in the beginning. Now they're bite size. Literally one bite! The Tharpe location is cleaner than the Paul Russell location. I liked how the Tharpe location was very Covid safe and had rules posted. The south side location made my skin itch, as the water dropped from the ceiling. No social distancing because they had one isle blocKed off. The south side location also had very thin plastic hanging to protect the staff is an epic failure. All in all Tharpe location gets a 3.5 and that's because of the mini wings.
