Service was great! Nice young man at the counter took my order. No issues there. For the most part, the dining room was clean with nice atmosphere. The problem was our food. We ordered 2 "Original hamburger with cheese" Meals. When the food was handed to me, the burgers had no substance to them. Even though still wrapped, they looked flat. When we opened the wrapper, I could see the look of disappointment on my wife's face. I was right with her. The bun looked like it had been squished flat. The lettuce was wilted and flattened out with blobs of mustard & ketchup on it. The onions (diced) were falling out of the sandwich. The hamburger meat seemed full of filler with a strange texture with 4 pickles piled in in the center amongst more mustard & ketchup. It looked pitiful and unappealing. My wife took two bites and said: "I can't eat this." This was the second time I had eaten at a Whataburger, her first time. My first time was a couple months ago in Hattiesburg, Mississippi which was very good, and I was anxious for my wife to experience one of these burgers. Wow! Disappointing doesn't really describe our feelings especially after paying almost $25 for these meals. Her comment was "One & Done!" So, we will never try whataburger again. I'm not a complainer or person who leaves reviews often, but after yesterday's experience at this restaurant on Thomasville Rd., I felt that folks should know about it. To the management if you read this: You lost customers because your cook staff is turning out food they would probably not eat. They obviously don't care about the product they are producing, or they juSt don't know any better. Anyway, we won't be back. read more

Last cheat day of 2024, decided to get some good sandwiches and burgers to cure my cravings. I did order more but these were the stars of the show. The service was polite and accommodating. The ambience is like the old school drive in Whataburger. This is a great place to get a classic burger. Original old school Whataburger with a covered canopy out front. Probably qualifies for the historic register. Was damaged by one of our hurricanes in the last few years and they restored it rather than tear down and build the latest incarnation. Has a drive through and a small inside with seating. Parking lot is small in comparison to newer locations. Service seems efficient and friendly. I was glad for that cover with my recent curbside pickup order because it was raining hard. read more

Ordered Fresh fries so they would be crisp and hot, but they were soggy and only lukewarm and in minutes they were cold. Chocolate malt was lacking the usual chocolate appearance and only a faint chocolatey taste as in previous years. I believe Whataburger is producing less chocolatey taste as a means in creating more profit. read more

After 17 years living in Tallahassee, I've gone past Whataburger so many times without a single bite until my first visit late 2020 after my dad decided it was time for us to both pop our Whataburger cherries. Fish sandwich and chicken sandwich were NOT good - a bit bland and processed looking (actually the pictures I took of the two sandwiches look pretty similar lol). I had heard rave reviews about the breakfast honey chicken biscuit but we didn't make it in time for the breakfast menu. But I ordered the triple meat whataburger, because go big or go home, right?! More recently, I got my hands on the patty melt and that was EVERYTHING - definitely a must order. A little greasy, but honestly, that makes it taste better. Definitely recommend. The drive thru line seems to get pretty long during peak meal hours (I've been for lunch twice now during the work week and it's been pretty busy around 12), but have "dined in" at one of the the outdoor tables or taken out both times, so avoided the drive thru experience. Next time I'm in Tally and I can wake up early enough, I'm going to make the effort to stop by Whataburger for the highly anticipated Honey Chicken Biscuit! read more

Visited the historic and enchanting MidTown Tallahassee Whataburger with visiting family foodies from Marin County, California. Our meal was unanimously amazing. The fries were crisp and perfectly salted. The burger was flavorful and described by our visitor as "a premium burger that doesn't taste like a typical fast food burger." We dined in, and experienced all the charm that the south has to offer, with a diverse, multigenerational, crowd brought together by a love for Whataburger. Simply fantastic. 24/7 first time whataburger been to Texas so many times but never tried. Location reviews were good on point. Staff here super friendly and been brought food to our table. Got a double and it was huuugggeee. Taste like whopper without the flame broiled. Meat is more meaty beefy texture and flavor. Very little sauce, should of asked for their jalapeño ranch. This location is pulling lunch customers forward at the drive thru to scam their window timers. Worse, they are pulling people into the handicapped parking spots at the direction of the window attendant. If customers need to use those spots, too bad. They're using the handicapped lanes to suave time off their slow window service. It's probably illegal. read more

Nov 2, 2019: This was my first visit to a Whataburger in many-many years. I popped in for a quick bite and ordered the #5 Bacon & Cheese Whataburger combo meal. I substituted fries for onion rings at no additional up-charge! I dined-in and was given a number to place on my table. When my order was ready they brought out my meal and a condiment tray offering catsup, mustard and choices of dipping sauces at no additional charge. That was an unexpected nice touch! The onion rings were crispy and not greasy, pretty darn good. The bacon-cheese whataburger was pretty darn good too. The entire experience was very good, the food fresh and hot, the service was excellent and the value almost can't be beat. Why 3 stars? It is simply fast food and not a high end "dining experience". read more

Maybe it's my fault, but I've always loved Whataburger, so I frequently go back. Typically, it's fine--except for this branch. 2 out of the last 3 times I've been there they've gotten the order wrong, and the food was just so so. While visiting Tallahassee this past week for classes, I had an opportunity to eat here not once - but 3 times - over the course of 6 days. Polite and friendly staff - fast drive thru - and even better prices that most similar fast food restaurants. My favorite offering was the cheese grits. Fast food bag had plenty of napkins, cream, sugar, salt, pepper, butter, jelly and even ketchup. No need to complain as all the necessary condiments could be found inside the bag. This is the best Whataburger in town IMO. Open 24/7, what more can you ask for? They have the classic look, and the best food. It is a great spot to come after a night at the bars around Midtown. For a fast food place, the staff is all very helpful and friendly. The cashier even gave me suggestions on what her favorite meals were. I ordered the Patty Melt, but made it a single because I wasn't too hungry. The Texas Toast is what caught my eye. I love anything and everything on Texas Toast. The food was out very quick. On the first bite, I knew that this fast food trip was worth it! I am not one to eat fast food often, but Whataburger might become a different story. The Texas Toast and creamy pepper sauce made this burger delicious. I almost forgot that I was eating at a fast food chain. I usually shy away from rating chains, especially fast food (how different are francises usually?), but in this case I felt the need to make an exception. The food was fairly standard, though I would consider it to be on the upper end of fast food burgers. The service, however, set them apart. I interacted with several employees and all were extremely friendly. I felt they actually cared about my experience as a customer, as opposed to most fast food places where there is almost an annoyance that they have to take your order.
