How can you tell if you are going to have a bad experience at a restaurant in the South? There will be some signs I will share with you based on my recent visit to Big Randy's. Sign #1: Sweet tea brought to you is from a soda fountain and not fresh-brewed. Making fresh-brewed sweet tea does not cost much. The waitress admitted it to me. I cannot tell you how many times I have had an awful sweet tea from the tab and the the rest of the experience has gone downhill more times than stabilizing the sail. Sign #2: Buying ranch to go with your wings instead of at least being given an obligatory one. Wait...it gets worse...paying for a pre-packaged Ken's Ranch...not Ranch made in-house. Sign #3: BBQ sauce on your wings is Sweet Baby Ray's bought from the grocery store. That is what my wife received and I probably had Sweet Baby Ray's Gold on my overcooked wings. Sign #4: I haven't met many French fries I wouldn't eat but Big Randy's tested me. I couldn't eat them. They were like McDonald's fries except way too salty. My wife's fries had no salt. The only saving grace from a 1-star is at least they made my wings extra wet like I asked and the service was fine. That's how you earn a 2-star. Note: the fried pickles had more of a corn nugget batter and the floor was also very sticky. read more

Records in the wall, pool tables in the back and order at the counter type I'd place. Now, do not leave this place without trying on of the fabulous milk shakes. I ordered the chocolate shake and found out they make it with real ice cream and half and half. It was so thick that it was difficult to pull through the straw! I order a Philly cheesesteak with no green peppers and they were very accommodating. My friend order the Monster HousePhilly and French fries. We enjoyed our sandwiches and I had to pack half of mine to go. The person working the counter had only been there two weeks and was not familiar with the menu when I asked questions. I got in and was greeted by one of the employees. He promptly took my order. I waited about 10 min for my food (which is normal). I got a 10 piece wing. I ordered the hot garlic parmesan sauce. Wings were a lot bigger than I expected! Cooked perfectly l, not dry or anything. I wish the wings could have gotten a little more of the "snap/crispyness" but other than that they were good. We were driving back to PCB from Tallahassee and craving burgers. Not being from the area, and this not being 'big city' we found this place. The lady who was manning the front area was super friendly and nice, helping us figure out what we wanted. We ordered the fried okra (pretty delish!) and I got a burger, the hubs order a chicken philly. The food was pretty good for this type of place which was a super casual, paper plate joint. While my burger was okay, my husbands chicken philly was not only huge and hearty but the chicken was super tasty. Overall, solid food and friendly service although I would recommend they clean up their bathrooms a bit more often and ensure they are stocked with TP/Paper Towels. read more

Friendly staff. Typical bar food with a few surprises on the menu like fried okra! Set up for game day with multiple TVs and pool. We ordered garlic parm wings, fried okra, onion rings and sweet potato fries. Everything was tasty and the wait was not long. I'll def return to supper this Black-owned business. read more

The food is good but very disappointed in the service. One item we ordered was a bbq bacon cheeseburger. When my husband got it home there was no bacon. Called and spoke with the owner. He said we could go back and get the bacon, which my husband did since no other alternative was offered. When my husband got there he received 2 pieces of bacon and an apology. No other compensation was offered for our inconvenience. By the time he got back the onion rings were cold and soggy. A good business practice would have been to give a discount on the next order or a complimentary side, or something tangible to encourage us to return.
