High volume, people constantly coming and going, and I can definitely see why it's a local favorite. Unfortunately, there were some misses. The floors were sticky, the tables were sticky, and our onion rings came out room temperature. The fries were soggy, also room temperature, and just didn't taste fresh. The burgers, though? Outstanding. My burger was seriously spicy--and I LOVED it. Easily the highlight of the meal. Service was friendly, but after asking for our check, we waited about 10 minutes and eventually had to get up and look for our waitress. Granted, they were crazy busy, so I understand--but it was still annoying. Overall, I can absolutely see why people love this place, especially for the burgers and friendly staff. It just wasn't enough for me to want to come back.

Hopdoddy Burger Bar is a good place to get a burger but be ready, it will cost an arm and a leg…read more My family went in here for dinner one evening while in Tallahassee. They run a promotion where if you sit at the bar, your meal is half-off. Unfortunately, we were 4 people with a 9-month-old so bar seating was not in the cards for us. We walked up to counter and placed our order. 3 burgers, a chicken sandwich, two small bowls of fries and two small side salads. After tip, it was $96. I've had less expensive sit-down dinners with top-notch service for that price. Our food was brought out to us not too long after we ordered. I will say the food was good. I ordered a double cheeseburger. It was comically large and nearly impossible to eat. The patties were thick and the beef was fresh and savory. I did the build-your-own. Mine had pickles, lettuce, tomato and cheese. The fries were ok. We got the parmesan truffle fries. They had the slight earthy taste of truffle and dusted with parmesan. The side salads were good. The kale was fresh and crunchy, it had a light vinaigrette on it that didn't weigh down the salad and complimented the bits of tomato and carrot. In the end, we enjoyed the meal but couldn't get past the price tag. If there is a next time, we will pop our 9-month-old in her car seat at the bar to get this food at a reasonable price.

The burger was amazing, fresh, flavorful, and definitely lived up to the hype. The fries were really good too. The place was packed when I went, and there wasn't much seating available, so I got my order to go and took it back to my office. The service was good, and by the time I got back, my food was still at a good temperature and tasted fresh. Definitely a place I'll be coming back to. Now I understand why everyone at work has been telling me about it!

The restaurant was spotless, and the staff at the front counter were friendly, welcoming, and very helpful. I also loved the patriotic atmosphere. The American flags and the seals representing all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces were a great touch and made the place feel unique. I ordered the double cheeseburger with pickles, grilled onions, ketchup, and mustard. I skipped the lettuce and tomato because of the recent Cyclosporiasis outbreak, which was just a personal preference. I also got an order of fries and their diet cola. Everything came out hot, just the way I like it. The burger was juicy, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. The fries, with their light breading, were crispy and just as impressive. While the meal was a little on the pricey side, the quality of the food made it worth every penny. Overall, I had a great experience and will definitely be coming back. If you're looking for a great burger in Tallahassee, Burger Barn Grill is worth checking out!

How can you tell if you are going to have a bad experience at a restaurant in the South?…read more There will be some signs I will share with you based on my recent visit to Big Randy's. Sign #1: Sweet tea brought to you is from a soda fountain and not fresh-brewed. Making fresh-brewed sweet tea does not cost much. The waitress admitted it to me. I cannot tell you how many times I have had an awful sweet tea from the tab and the the rest of the experience has gone downhill more times than stabilizing the sail. Sign #2: Buying ranch to go with your wings instead of at least being given an obligatory one. Wait...it gets worse...paying for a pre-packaged Ken's Ranch...not Ranch made in-house. Sign #3: BBQ sauce on your wings is Sweet Baby Ray's bought from the grocery store. That is what my wife received and I probably had Sweet Baby Ray's Gold on my overcooked wings. Sign #4: I haven't met many French fries I wouldn't eat but Big Randy's tested me. I couldn't eat them. They were like McDonald's fries except way too salty. My wife's fries had no salt. The only saving grace from a 1-star is at least they made my wings extra wet like I asked and the service was fine. That's how you earn a 2-star. Note: the fried pickles had more of a corn nugget batter and the floor was also very sticky.

The appetizers are very good especially the southwest eggrolls. The drinks are also top-tier. The green smoothie is so yummy! I also had an adult beverage that was super tasty but I do not recall the name. I appreciate that the menu prices are affordable. I believe there are membership options but if you aren't a member it's like 45 bucks for an hour with up to eight people on the court. The space is definitely well maintained and inviting and there are several activities to do (think law games, corn hole, big Jenga, etc.) even if you're not playing pickle ball. The waitresses are also really delightful.

My wife and I were at Table 23 the evening of August 1, 2026. We were seated at a reserved table…read moreright by the service door which I really hate. I tried to get another table but was told other tables were already reserved. So we decided to stop complaining to ourselves and just go with it. That was the ONLY major negative experience at Table 23. Other smaller negatives were ice water from the machine that tasted like the plastic devices it came out of. We requested tap water and it was promptly served and solved that problem. Our waiter did a fabulous job and he was always moving fast to his tables. Sometimes though it took him a while to attend to our needs but that really wasn't his fault. That waiter was A+. I think the restaurant needs another waiter to spread the workload a bit. My wife ordered a Bees Knees drink and it was delicious, almost like a dessert. I drank my usual beer. We ordered Okra and Gorgonzola chips which were quite interesting. For our entrees, my wife ordered the flounder and I ordered redfish. Both dishes were beautiful in presentation but even mores in taste. The flounder came with a sauce that had lemon in it and it was 100% delicious, as was the flounder. My redfish came sitting in the middle of a generous serving of fabulous, delicious creamy grits. After my first bite of that fish and those grits, I knew I had hit a jackpot and thanked my good fortune in ordering it. And for a dessert we choose a shared flourless chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream. visually it was just beautiful and the richness of chocolate and flavor was absolutely out of this world. We are looking forward to our next visit to Table 23 and it will be tempting to order the same things but the menu has many wonderful choices. What a fantastic delimma.
