I've ordered from here regularly for a while and it's an underrated find on College Avenue near Potbelly's. The sandwich meats, vegetables and spicy peppers are delicious and they're wrapped in fresh bread from Tasty Pastry. My new philosophy here is to order sandwiches with one or two meats, because three is the wrong ratio of meat to other ingredients (don't ask me why, it's math). I still don't know what the OG sauce is, but I ask for it on the side with every meal. They also make a mean potato salad. read more

Very pleased with my visit here. I came a few years ago and thrilled they are still open despite the pandemic. Probably because they want to get it right for their customers and have great customizable wraps, sandwiches and salads with fresh ingredients. The staff was very gracious and patient while my friend and I contemplated our order. They weren't too helpful though in suggesting anything. I was torn between three options to which the reply was "they're all good." So again, while probably true, not particularly helpful. We came around 12:30 on a weekday and it wasn't packed, which I appreciated. The facility was clean and good music playing. My sub was really tasty, just wish they would've had spinach. I had the chicken parm on a wheat wrap and added onions and lettuce. My friend just had a basic Turkey club wrap which she too enjoyed very much. I also tried the pistachio pudding which had a lovely, light flavor and their big cookie, which was pretty yummy too. (sweet tooth much?) I appreciated that most staff were masked and that they had great hi-c fruit punch. I'll definitely be back. ProTip: be sure to check in for a free soft drink. ;0) read more

Decided to finally give this place a try due to it being summer and less students being on campus. I had a chicken tender sub and it was a amazing. Love the way they melted the cheese on it and the tenders were really good. Can't wait to come back here and try more stuff on the menu. read more

Sub tasted great , until a few hours after lunch. Definitely got food poisoning from here, and vomited for hours. Seemed like a great staff and a good product, but I won't be returning due to those reasons. Posted because I don't want the same thing to happen to someone else, and due to a salmonella outbreak being reported within hours of me eating here. Not certain it was salmonella because I didn't have any onions, but there's definitely a chance for cross-contamination and I'm 100% certain I have at least food poisoning. Another delivery during social distancing. OG is open for seating indoors, but also for take out and delivery (within 5 miles). We had not been ordering from places open for dining in, but thought that risk was lower from a counter service place (limiting interactions with customers) and with limited indoor seating. The food was fantastic. Shared their TripleOG and a hot chicken tender sub. Both were great. But a note: their menu is different at different locations on their site. On their web site they list hot chicken tender subs. When you go to their Square site to order online they list a Terminator hot chicken sub that has all sorts of good things on it, including crushed voodoo chips. When we asked for that on the call in order, what we actually got was a more plain sub, and without the chips. It was good, but not what was expected. So be sure you are clear in what toppings you want. In the plus side: they will pretty much make anything however you want it. Delivery was quick, contactless, dropped off at front door with a bell ring, and driver was wearing mask and gloves. Perfect! read more

REVIEW UPDATE: OG subs is GREAT on large orders. Today, we made an order for about 35 subs for my job. The manager/owner was very friendly and helpful and even cut us a deal for making a bulk order. We emailed him all of the specifics the night before and he even went in early to ensure they were prepared on time. The subs were just as good and fresh. Each order was appropriately paper wrapped and taped with our names on them! The oil and vinegar was placed on the side as not to get the bread soggy and we got plenty for our group. These special touches makes them a great options for group orders. We will definitely order again. read more

Ordered three slices at Doak Stadium, the guy boxing up slices didn't wash his hands when he came back in the cube, separating slices with his hands without gloves. Then I get my pizza back to my seat. Thought the black pieces were just burnt parts until I bit one and found out it was plastic. I take the other piece back to get my money back. The guy now has one glove on (not the hand touching the pizza.) I tell him the situation, he takes the slice back and puts in on the tray with the new pizzas. Gives me another slice with plastic on that one, I refuse it, the "Boss" says it is from the oven and has me pick a slice without the "pieces" on it. I will NEVER eat from that place again. I have had many subs in my time. For a period of my life, I put together countless subs a day in the Publix deli, studying the ratios and combinations of ingredients that made for the perfect sub. A poorly constructed sub can ruin a whole day. That being said - I am a connoisseur of submarines. After reading OG was a favorite of many locals on the Tallahassee Foodies page, I ordered an OG Special Italian Sub, 12". I requested no hot peppers, the addition of mayo and curbside pickup. OG nailed the order and had the sub at my vehicle within 15 seconds of arrival. Employee was very friendly and respectful. This sub had amazing flavor from each component. The bread, meat, cheese, veggies and dressings were distinct and each added to the sub - no element was a bystander or unnecessary. The ratios were perfect, no one part of the sub was overpowering and it was simply bursting with delicious flavor. The cold cuts were tasty, but the veggies truly made this sub with their degree of freshness. The bread was soft and not too much while being substantial and strong for the ingredients. To finish it off, OG included some treats for a sweet cap on the meal that were clearly homemade and absolutely delicious. This is a 10/10 choice for supporting a local sub shop for lunch or dinner, and the 12" sub is large enough for two meals. Can't recommend more. read more

I don't give 5 stars often but John was an amazing sandwich maker and very customer oriented. My meat and cheese was freshly sliced, the bread baked this morning. My gosh this sub was as good as the ones I used to make at Tony's House of Hero. For the cleanliness, friendliness and all around fantastic taste 5 big stars to OG subs. I ordered a large and wrapped 1/2 to go. The tuna is real tuna with just mayo. You can add other stuff to it but my sample was great. I can't wait to bring some other folks in! Finally getting around to reviewing OG Subs. Honestly, I don't think there are enough local, non-chain sub establishments in this town. Tallahassee is littered with your conventional sandwich shops: Jersey Mike's, Firehouse Subs, Publix Deli, Which Wich, Jimmy John's and the God awful Subway. Then there are the local joints: Hopkin's Eatery and Larry's Giant Subs though I think Larry's can be found in a couple of other FL cities. Yeah......the sub scene here is pretty slack in my opinion. OG Subs has entered the ring, looking to make a name for itself. This place has some really good sandwiches. They're large as all outdoors and packed FULL of meat which is exactly what you want from a hoagie. They slice the meat right in front of you and the toppings smell fresh as they add them to your subs behind the "sandwich prison glass." The prices aren't too bad either and the service was impeccable. I've only been here twice but each time, the staff was extraordinarily nice and personable to me. OG Subs is a nice addition to the meager sub scene in Leon county. It's a cool little shop located right up the street from a couple of frat houses so you'll find the college crowd here almost any time you walk through the doors during school sessions. While I wasn't floored by them, I was satisfied. OG's can last a few rounds but I'm still longing for that #1 sub contender. read more

I went to lunch at OG Subs with my buddies in the heat of summer (it was 98 degrees!) and had a very refreshing lunch. We received a nice greeting from the staff, who are charismatic and charming. I'm not well versed on the menu, but I know their subs are magnificent. The bread is fresh and tasty, they put a slab of beef at the base, fill up all available space with veggies and flavorful toppings, and then to make sure everything stays snug and in its place, they wrap the innards in more beef. They advertise veggie and vegan options, which is great, but I am all about that roast beast! I love the OG. Hello everyone, I was a recent customer at OG subs the other day, and boy let me tell you something. First off the guy with the heavy beard, who I think is the manager, had hair follicles falling in my sandwich. It was horrific. Not only that but his attitude towards the work he was doing was lazy and honestly upsetting. If I was an owner of a sub joint I would never hire someone who wasn't motivated or ethical about doing a good job at work. The younger staff was very polite but seemed uncomfortable or unfamiliar with what to do probably from poor training from this guy. I think jack was working the day I went in and he was the ideal example of how a customer should be treated, not how I felt after this so called manager treated me. read more

The only thing to watch out for is a zealous parking cop who likes to ticket everyone whether you put money in the meter or not. (We did and he watched us do it!) Incredible food AND customer service!!! I made a large, customized order for a class at FSU. Not only did they nail the food (and it was DELICIOUS!), but they were accommodating to our schedule and situation (had to be packaged in a way that students didn't eat while in the classroom). Napkins, paper bags ("to-go" bags), toppings in plastic containers, sauce packets (mayo, mustards), etc...were all provided. They're baaaack. Tallahassee's best locally owned sub shop, OG Subs, reopened Friday (after taking an expected break for a couple of weeks) and my tummy is happy. It's already a proven fact that they make the best tuna sub I've had anywhere. But, in the interest of variety, today, I went with the OG Italian Special, filled with ham, Italian cappicola and Genoa salami, a pile of locally grown fresh veggies and fresh-baked rolls from premier local bakery, Tasty Pastry.
