Good food. We just found this place after living here a year. It's tucked away and there isn't a big sign. We have one kid who is hard to feed and she loved the French Toast. Everything tasted great. The egg is a very nice place to eat or it has been for a long time as far as I'm concerned. A recent visit confirmed that their cooking is creative and tasty and very well done. There is more to the story of a nice restaurant than good food. You want the tables to be wiped clean you want everything to be clean and unfortunately, this visit resulted in not a very good number. So, as soon as you walk in, there is a short staff sign. I understand with the pandemic and labor shortages that service may be slow. So I took about 5 minutes to even see someone, which wasn't a problem. I get seated at the bar, at my request, because I saw a server working behind the bar and figured this would be a wise choice for service. I sat and sat, probably another five minutes before anyone even talked to me. Apparently they had some confusion on who was going to be serving me - so instead of saying hi and getting a basic drink order as soon as they saw me, they decided to let me wait while they figured it out. This was my first time eating here that wasn't a holiday, so they weren't slammed with patrons waiting outside for seats. Service was excellent, as usual. I will note, they are now adding a 4% fee to every order if you pay with a card. My Dad joined me for breakfast, and he enjoyed what he ordered. I forgot to note what he got, but there is a photo of it. I ordered the Classic Biscuit and Gravy. The gravy was great. Perfect consistency and flavor. I wish there was more than one biscuit. Their patty sausage is very flavorful. My eggs were cooked as requested and seasoned decently. I also added a side of Bradley's sausage. This is my favorite sausage in the world, so it is hard to beat it. If you have never tried Bradley's sausage, please do yourself a favor and find it. Yet the table behind us received their bacon in their drinks no problem. 2. On this visit, I had the Ultimate Seafood Omelet. It was jammed pack with everything delicious. It tasted wonderful. It came with home fries and English Muffin. We ordered hot coffee to start off our brunch. We also ordered the beignets, which I have always loved at the other locations. They came out hot and sweet and tasty. Disappointed that they only offer military discount to those in uniform. My daughter is 100% disabled retired US Army. She has her military ID but won't give the discount because she's not in uniform. The menu is pricey and the charge to swap the breakfast potatoes for a slice of tomato or other fruit is $1.50 more. Split a plate between 2 for a smaller meal, that'll be an extra $2.50. No senior menu to get a smaller meal. They are a pretentious overpriced cafe. At least provide flavored creamer. Another great time at the Egg Cafe and Eatery this time at the location on Capital Ciricle. We had a party of 6 and the speed of service was perfect. Jamie was our server and she was excellent! I didn't get the Asian Chicken salad, but recommended it to someone in my party and she thoroughly enjoyed. I didn't want anything with eggs as I had some for Breakfast so I went with the potato skillet with broccoli, spinach and Bradley Sausage. It was filling, however I wasn't crazy about the combo but the greenery made me feel "healthier" even though I'm sure the potatoes and cheese cancel it out. I attempt to try a new place to eat at least once a month, and when I opened my Yelp app for something close to where my medical appointment was, The Egg Cafe was the first to pop up. After reading through their menu, I decided to give it a try! I had one heck of a time finding the place, as my GPS did not appear to be pinpointing it! I wasn't sure what kind of building I was looking for, and I took several wrong turn, turn, turns, but just as I was about to give up, I made one more 'wrong' turn, and there it was, the back corner of what I first thought was an office building!!! I still wasn't sure what to expect, from the unassuming exterior, but it smelled good, so I parked and walked on in! I was greeted by an empty check in/check out station littered with empty food containers and drink cup, so not the greatest first impression, but a gentleman waiting on a nearby bench (a customer, I presumed!) spoke up and told me, "They'll be back in a minute"! It took a minute or two, but a waitress did come forward and immediately led me to a booth. I guess I got the one and only waitress that was just not on her best that day! I saw several staff waiting very efficiently on customers, yet I could never see mine when I needed something! Multiple times, I had to get other staff to either get me something I need, or at least find my waitress and let her know I needed something! Maybe it was her day to look after the kitchen, I don't know! But I really felt slighted! Everyone else seemed to have much more attentive wait staff! I so envied them! On the food side, the meal was served in a lovely ceramic platter and "skillet' combo, which gave plenty of room to enjoy the food without it being piled on top of itself! I LOVED the little home potatoes they served on the side of my Ponce de Leon omelet! The little cubed 'taters' were gently crunchy on the outside, but perfectly soft on the inside! The omelet was topped generously with crab meat, and the eggs were fully cooked, filled liberally with cream cheese and tomato dices! My only negative was the biscuit (I substituted the English muffin), which was extremely dry! I had to smother it in honey and their delicious house butter just to keep from choking! Overall, it was mostly a good meal, just not a great one! The ambiance was casual, no one seemed in a rush, and it appeared to be mostly a retirement crowd, which wasn't a surprise considering the hours (they close at 2:00 p.m.). The decor was muted, nice warm orange and olive colors, much like an Italian restaurant. The place was clean, and tables were quickly cleared and wiped, as soon as vacated. Everyone was smiling, helpful, and busy! This was a lovely little out-of-the-way place, where one could find quite an expansive menu, something for everyone! It is on the pricey side for breakfast, but it's not like eating at McDonald's! This is high quality food! I'm going to find my way back to it, that's for sure! read more

Went to the Egg today because my girls wanted brunch and we were in the area. After 10 minutes of sitting I had to go and ask if we had a server. The hostess apologized and said there was some confusion on who had our table. I tried to order the bananas foster waffle but they were out of bananas. I ordered a mimosa and the cinnamon roll French toast. The mimosa tasted mostly of prosecco with no orange juice flavor. I like more of a mix. The cinnamon roll French toast was really good and the portion size was very large. I will be back but wouldnt get a mimosa and hope the have bananas. Also. I had the worst experience at this location. My issue is simple the rudeness and pushing us out from finishing our meal was not needed. I went in for breakfast with my service dog. I said excuse me and she repeated it even louder. (Ma'am while I am not totally deaf, your rudeness isn't needed.") She then walked away and grabbed our check and had a male waiter bring it to me and ask for me to pay. Well I wasn't done with my meal, but paid and left. I asked to talk with a manager, Jaime the rude lady from earlier refused to let me speak to one. Here is the thing my medical alert dog wasn't eating or being feed he was alerting to a medical problem, but if you do not wish him to task in your restaurant that is fine. We have not been to the Egg in forever! I love this place and it normally has a wait. But it is worth the wait! They had said 45 minutes but I think it was less than 30. Which I'd rather think it's longer and it be shorter than the reverse. I really love the Popeye scramble. It has everything I love in it. Mushrooms, bacon, onion, and spinach. Instead of potatoes I had the cheese grits and they were good. Endless coffee Our server was Maegen and I hoped I spelled it right. She was delightful and very apologetic for our wait. I asked the waitress if the two stores were related and she said that she wasn't sure but this restaurant used to be located in Destin Beach but then they split up and now the two owners have separate restaurants. We ordered a Bloody Mary and a special - lemon blueberry Mimosa. The Bloody Mary was average , the special Mimosa was tasteless and at $13 far from special. We ordered the crab Benny and a brunch dish with crab cake and shrimp. The eggs were done right, the sauces good. The crab cakes were average, no lump crab meat to be found. We ordered a pancake which was good The meal took 40 minutes to arrive. It was hot but The drinks were long gone. The server was fine The restroom trash was overflowing and the floor outside the restroom was littered. Seems like an overwhelmed place that could be great but isn't.
