Let's be frank here.....Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts are overrated and extremely commercialized. Often times smaller, quaint coffee shops are overlooked and I hope the reviews keep coming to make more people aware of this great coffee shop. Also, Red Eye is newly partnered with Capital Regional Medical Center and has a coffee shop on the 2nd floor. One of the best things about this coffee shop is that it is organic! Another great thing I love about this company is that they support the community. I have been to other coffee shops where the taste was almost "burnt" or acidic and I never find that in Redeye. I do wish they had signature drinks and more flavors available but when you are a true coffee drinker, you don't need all of that....you just want it from time to time. The atmosphere is small but quaint. It is quiet and a great place to have a meeting, study, or meet up with friends. I like the fact that it is not over crowded. TIPS: Join their rewards program. For as much as I love coffee shops, I tend to pick a select few to partake in and that's it. It usually takes an occasion to get me to break the habit of going to a coffee shop that has been tried and true. The occasion presented itself in the form of a girlfriend. She said there were two of these in town, and well, she had gone to the other one and wanted to go to this one. I indulged her, we went, along with another girlfriend, and had a fabulous time. Parking is plentiful, the service is on point, and the food and drinks are tasty. The only issue here admittedly is that it can get busy, so be on the lookout for that if you want to sip on a latte and study or chat there. The first time around we had no issues grabbing seats, but the second time I just barely got the last seat and I was by myself, so definitely take note. I typically order the white chocolate mocha with non-fat milk and to me it's superb, maybe even better than a certain chain. The food is good. I saw they have some breakfast options like avocado toast, but I usually just have a quiche or something with spinach in it. My daughter wanted a special coffee and it was close to lunchtime so we stopped here and got her fancy drink (way too much going on for me, but she was head over heels about her pumpkin spice, almond milk latte ) I ordered a Turkey Pesto on ciabatta and she ordered Meant to Brie. The bread in my sandwich was a little burned but other than that it was delicious. Lots of turkey and the pesto and cheese balanced it out perfectly. We didn't pay attention and were surprised that her order came as a sandwich. But it did which made it super easy to eat- similar to a grilled cheese on a bun. It tasted amazing! I have enjoyed my recent visits to this establishment. The staff here have been so pleasant. The first time I came someone was even singing, quite well I might add. The Double Decker sandwich might be the best breakfast sandwich I've ever had. It has egg, cheese, bacon and sausage on a ciabatta bun. The coffee here is great as well. No seats, mostly occupied by people working on their laptops. They have the indoors space to put more tables or expand the bar. I've recently went to an event at proof brewing company and red eye coffee was there. Let me tell you their flights of pumpkin coffee was on point. They had pumpkin spice cold brew, white chocolate maple cold brew, carrot cake iced tea and caramel biscotti iced tea. My personal favorite was the carrot cake iced tea, it was so delicious! I'm a fan of Red Eye--and coffee in general--so, when I heard they had a new location, I had to check it out. This location is much smaller than the one in midtown. This is more of a Starbucks size. There are tables, communal booths and a bar and stools. There's also what appears to be a meeting/study room with a sliding door for privacy. There are five four-person tables outside, but they're right by the parking lot and Capital Circle, so probably not great for a study date. Along with great coffee and pastries/bagels, this location sells t-shirts, backpacks (purportedly handcrafted by the fine, indigenous folks of Central America), coffee cups, coffee growlers and four varieties of coffee beans. This is my second time at red eye. I wanted to try something different so I went for the lavender vanilla latte with coconut milk. It's a little too sweet which hindered the coffee taste. The first time around I got a chai tea latte and I loved it!!! The service was great, very welcoming and quick. The seating is a little limited, it was completely packed when I went in. Second or third time I've stopped here coming from Jacksonville. Caramel/vanilla latte and cafe con leche were great. Cool decor.

I can't speak for the coffee here since I have yet to try it. My first item ever ordered here was their iced chai latte and I just can't seem to move past it - it is so amazing and the best yet that I have tried in town. They also do some great matcha latte's. The barista's here are very nice and helpful, they have an awards/points system as well. The have a great selection of alternative milks to add into your drink and an a large enough menu for variety but not to overwhelm you. Definitely work checking out. Red eye is a hidden gem. If I could give them 6 stars I would. I tried a cafe con Leche and a cortadito and honestly it might be the best in Tallahassee. The coffee is bold tasting and I suspect they use organic milk because you can taste the difference. Also the place was very empty for a Saturday morning and has a cute fireplace to sit next to. Absolutely the best coffee and blueberry muffin I've ever encountered. You could tell the muffin was made with love and makes Starbucks' muffins look and taste like it was made in an alleyway in New York by a dumpster. This is the only place I could find a lavender and french vanilla latte (which is my favorite) and it was proper. Oh and the service was excellent! The cashier was super friendly, kind, and patient. I usually enjoy going to this coffee shop but I had the worst encounter with a staff member on 05/30/22. I really like all the other staff here but this blonde girl was very rude and refused me service. I ordered a double shot espresso with whole milk. After receiving my coffee,I asked for more milk. She said "NO, I'm not giving you a latte for free!" I said "A latte is in a cup twice this size, so it wouldn't be a latte" I asked to pay for more milk for my coffee and she refused to let me pay for more milk and repeated her self " I won't give you a latte for free, I can't just charge you for milk!" This is my favorite coffee bar in Tallahassee . I usually would drive out of my way to go the Redeye in midtown, but thankfully they opened a great location near my office. Parking has been easy so far. I used to go to lucky goat but would have the worst luck with parking, so I eventually stopped going. At Red eye, I can pull right in and always find a spot. I like that they have started offering more lunch options like pastas and sushi. Coffee is always brewed hot and fresh, and if not, they will brew you some fresh coffee. Staff is always friendly and welcoming. Great wifi and I can always find a table to get some work done. Outside patio is a little noisy because of the road, but they have a great set up with umbrellas and some barriers to keep you from look right at capital circle. read more

I received an email earlier this week with a code for a free drink if I downloaded the app. I had only tried Redeye coffee through their mobile truck but the store location is beautiful. The outside seating area is very nice and well done. The inside is very clean and open. It was pretty empty at 7:30am and I was able to walk in and order right away. The barista working was very nice and suggested a different drink than my normal order to try! I will definitely be stopping by again on my way to work. What a great addition to the Tallahassee favorite of RedEye Coffee in Midtown. This location offers the thing now most hard to find at the Midtown location: seating and quiet. The coffee is just as fantastic, as is to be expected, while also offering happy hour specials and a few coffee-related retail items. If you are a regular at the Midtown location, I need to say very little in praise of RedEye that you don't already know. With the ability to not have to fight over a table, I will definitely be making RedEye Coffee on Capital Circle a regular haunt of mine. read more

Discrimination. I went into the RedEye coffee shop for the first time on May 30th 2017. It seemed like a great place to brunch and get some work done. I asked how much one of the blueberry muffins were in the case but the barista ignored the question and told me all prices were up above my head on the wall. Except... the prices only were set for the various beverages they offered-no food. I got the muffin anyway and it came up to $2.50, not bad. I took a seat and soon other people came into the shop, all white. And they all were told about the free rewards program. Later i went back up to the bar as he just finished adding yet another WHITE customer into the rewards program. When it was my turn I asked why I had not been told about the free rewards program. The barista then told me "it is super busy in here and sometimes I forget, do you want to sign up now?" I politely answered no and went back to my seat. Mind you, there were only 4 people in the shop including me. After I sat back down a white male came in and of course he was also told about the rewards program. Never going back. read more
