What a little gem of a spot! You walk in to be greeted by the smell of brewing coffee and baked goods that give it a cozy feel. You can hang out inside or side outside with a view of the lake. The baristas were friendly and knowledgeable about their offerings. My peppermint mocha and ham and cheese croissant did not disappoint. A cute place to spend some time with a book. Loved that it's woman owned.

10/10 vibes, everyone is super kind and i love a warm lit place with a lake view i recommend their Vietnamese coffee!

The drinks my husband and me got on our last visit

This is my favorite coffee shop in Tallahassee, I always love trying the seasonal drinks or whatever the employees recommend. My husband and me had our first date here a few years ago and actually got engaged here in 2024. I highly recommend it and I have a lot of good memories here

Caramel Latte # thereshouldbenobubbles

I wanted to love this place, super beautiful area, love the funky vibe walking in with an eclectic crowd and range of ages, perfect place to hang out and work and enjoy your coffee. Service was fine, baristas were friendly but not overly so. Placed my order, appreciated the prices (only two sizes large 16 oz and 12 oz) - 5.75 for a large caramel syrup latte. Drink wait time around 5 mins (there seemed to be a bit of a backlog even though only one person had been in front of me). And then I got my coffee, hopes dashed, why is it bubbly on the top, where's the foam?! Also, I'm not certain if it's their version of caramel but has a bit of a nutty flavor. Ouch, disappointing to say the least. Palatable (well, jury's still out) but won't be returning for their lattes. I'd suggest lucky goat but I'm still on the hunt for Tally's best coffee. *update* jury's back, I'm not drinking this.

Went here on a whim because Leon's was unexpectedly closed. It was a great spot that I had never been to. My friend and I very much enjoyed our chicken salad croissant sandwiches. The White Dog Blended Coffee drink was also quite tasty. It was pretty packed for a Friday afternoon, but we still managed to snag a table for two. It's very cozy inside. There's a borrow a book shelf and little activities to keep small children occupied. The ladies who served us all seemed very kind. I'd definitely return.

absolutely love it here, amazing place to study with an open patio. only con is that the inside and covered seating is limited but there is abundant patio and garden seating. i revisit all of the time for great coffee and kind baristas.

Pesto Bagel Melt

Admittedly, there is not much as far as breakfast joints around here, aside from large chains like Waffle House. This little cafe offers an unbelievable view, with good coffee. However, I would recommend skipping the food. We ordered a bagel melt and a spinach croissant, and both were not very good. Also, my coffee cup was pretty dirty-looking. But the coffee was delicious and the location is amazing, so I'd be back just for that!

We visited Black Dog Cafe after a friend of a friend recommended it. We sat outside on the Patio, the view was impecable. It provided a peaceful start to our busy day, which made it great to get work done. I don't remember what my coworkers ordered but I had a latte with lavender and a butter cake. They were both delicious. I ordered the big cup and I think a medium one would have been enough. Overall, a solid place.

I absolutely love the Black Dog Cafe. It is my favorite coffee shop in all of Tallahassee. The crowd is a mix of locals and students doing work, but it is a peaceful and studious environment. It is a quaint coffee shop, cozy on the inside, and serene on the outside. If you are lucky, you can get a seat on the patio or the picnic tables facing Lake Ella, a picturesque lake situated behind the coffee shop. The chocolate croissants here are OUT OF THIS WORLD DELICIOUS. They are always sold out, which breaks my heart, because that's my go-to. If you can't snag one of those, then try the spinach croissant or ham and swiss. Those are good too. Their iced matcha latte is really good, milky and sweet. I love to visit here for a study session and coffee date. The restaurant only asks that you continue ordering coffee if you are occupying a table for a long period of time, but I am happy to support a local business. Parking is really easy too.

I ordered the Nutty Irishman.

Today was a good day :) I ordered the Tomato bisque (soup of the day). Creamy, hearty, well seasoned and I wanted more after I finished it. 5 stars. The Nutty Irishman was not my cup of tea. I never had it before so I had no idea what to expect. It was too sweet for my liking. 3 stars. Banana bread was yummy and I want more!!! I also had the date/walnut cake which was good but it was dry. Combined I give 4 stars. Service was very good so 5 stars.

pesto, provolone, and tomato bagel melt (~$11)

I ordered a pesto, provolone, and tomato bagel melt from Black Dog (~$11) and it was delicious! The pesto wasn't as strong but it hit the spot. The bagel was crispy and the cheese was nicely melted. However, the wait time was a bit long. I waited around 25-30 minutes for this bagel. They did warn me beforehand that that's how long it would take, but it wasn't extremely busy when I ordered so I'm not sure why the wait was especially long. I also ordered an americano with Irish cream and caramel syrup. Even though it was simple, it was tasty and hit the coffee mark. I also got a slice of coffee cake which was delicious! It paired well with the americano but it would've been fine solo as well. It was nice and light and had pecans in the strudel which elevated the flavor. The coffee with the dessert was ~$8. What's the selling factor of Black Dog is the location! If you sit outdoors, you get a great view of Lake Ella. Plus, they have a covering to block the sun so you can sit out anytime of the day. Grabbing something to eat and drink and then taking a walk around the lake is a spectacular way to take a nice break :) the only thing is that I wish there was more space to sit indoors as well. It felt a bit crammed when I was ordering even though there weren't that many people.

They have an expansive menu and the views from the outside seating area are great. The service is also quick no matter how busy the shop is.

First timer. Looked nice but it has a bar feel to it. Not my cup of tea but I will recommend since…read morethe service was very good.

First time in Tallahassee and I had to make a quick road trip stop for coffee!…read more Saw that Ology was in a brewery and it piqued my interest! The coffee had very good reviews so I thought I'd give it a try. The menu item names are very creative. Five stars for that. So far loved the vibe. And as far as customer service goes, they were very friendly! I really wanted to try their Rosemary Lavender but sadly they were out of this flavor. I opted for cardamom with oat milk. After the first sip.. I couldn't quite get the cardamom taste. Not with the second, third or fourth. It fell a bit too short for me. Cardamom has a very distinct taste and it was lost in the milk. Just tasted like a regular latte. I had to have more than 12oz (looks like this is their only size) so I also got the cold brew.. but the batch was not as strong as I would prefer. I think it can be better. I'm sadly reminded of the old Keurig days when my coffee would come out tasting extremely diluted but I would still drink to because it was quick and easy. Cold brew is a slow, beautiful and delicate process. This drink did not reflect that awesome cold brew experience. I expect the cold brew from a coffee place to taste much better than what I make at home. No for me Ology. Wish you guys better days though!
