They've got a great text msg based system to alert you when your table is ready, so you can go to another store or wait in the car without missing out. The food is always solid and they've got plenty of healthy breakfast options. I had a power wrap today with egg whites, spinach, chicken sausage, etc and a side of fruit. Forgot the pictures before it got devoured however. The coffee is just so so in my opinion - somehow a little weak and yet a tad bitter. Canopy Road was just ok. I'd been wanting to try it for a while, and finally had the chance to. It's a typical cafe style place, and their menu is a bittt overwhelming so it took me a while to decide on what to get. I ended up getting a smash burger and then an omelette to-go for the next day. The burger was decent, but I think the copious bbq sauce helped it out. The omelette, however, was nothing to write home about. I also had the LEAST attentive server ever. This is the 2nd Canopy Road Cafe that we've dined at in Tallahassee and each has been excellent! The first was on Apalachee and this one was at Capital Circle. We were there early on a Sunday morning and while it was already crowded, we didn't have a wait. The food was delicious! We started with a basket of biscuits, then had orders of omelettes and French Toast. Everything was prepared well and coffee and tea were excellent! It's pretty cool that these restaurants were started by FSU students. They obviously saw the need for breakfast spots and it looks like they now have 5 locations. I went mid-morning on a Friday. It was busy with a brief wait. We were seated within minutes. The menu had a nice variety of items and our server was prompt and friendly. Awesome food- I ordered a Buffalo chicken omelet with home fries and a biscuit. The food came out quickly and tasted delicious! I was really impressed by the ability to have your omelet made with egg whites. Plus this omelet was filled with multiple cheeses which perfectly complimented the hot chicken. Home fries were crisped to perfection and the biscuit was equally create. 2. Creative menu-from the omelets to the pancakes, I want to try everything on this menu! Great job at making your food delicious but also fun! 3. Great space-there is both outside and inside seating. I always appreciate some outside seating during this COVID pandemic! Overall, this is a great place and I will definitely be coming back soon! Keep in mind when you come that the parking is very limited and the inside seating is a bit crammed if you are nervous about indoor seating, definitely opt for outside. This is the third location of this local breakfast/lunch chain I've visited. The food is consistently creative, delicious and satisfying. This particular store lacks the ambiance of what I assume to be their original location, on Monroe, and seems a bit more crowded than the one on Apalachee Parkway, but the food and service are 100% on point. We were warmly greeted and immediately seated. The server did an awesome job, from start to finish. Great cup of local Lucky Goat coffee. I had the monte cristo with a fruit cup on the side side. There's no way I could eat it all, even though it was absolutely delicious. My wife had the breakfast burrito with a side of hash browns, which was also fantastic... and very filling. (Personally, I'd add jalapeños to the burrito, if I was to order it, but she was thrilled with it). Bottom-line, you can't go wrong with Canopy Road if you're in Tallahasee for breakfast or brunch and okay with non-alcoholic beverages, because that's the one thing they're lacking. read more

My first impression was "cute, diner vibe" but then I looked at the menu and specials and realized this is no typical diner! I ordered the Doc's Usual from the Healthy Side menu and it was fresh and delicious with egg white s and spinach, 2 turkey sausage patties, wheat toast, and delicious fresh fruit of pineapples, strawberries, and blueberries. My companion had an egg platter with 2 eggs, hash browns, bacon, and toast. The food and service is top tier. I ordered the cinnamon roll French toast with eggs and turkey sausage. Everything was hot and fresh. Kereem Robinson was the chef on duty and let's say every time he's there the food exceeds my expectations. The Capital Circle location is closest to my house, but no location has ever disappointed. This particular location has a newer more modernized decor in comparison with the North Monroe venue. Currently they are offering curbside pick up due for the COVID-19 situation. Service is always fast and the servers are polite. Whether I'm ordering an omelette, corned beef hash or their gigantic pancakes, I have never met a meal I did not like. As a bonus, try their enormous cinnamon buns that can be shared four ways because they are as large as one and a half adult hands. I have been in Tallahassee for three months now. Every single time I drive past a Canopy Road Cafe there is a line. I have tried doing online orders but the wait was always insane. Finally, I got my chance. Hubby and I walked in and made a To Go order. The Northern Exposure Skillet was calling my name from the moment I grabbed the menu. It has smoked Atlantic salmon, goat cheese, tomatoes and green onions over hash browns. Hubby ordered the Turtle Cheesecake Pancakes. The order took about twenty minutes even with the place being packed. The servers did a great job getting it all packed up for us to enjoy at home infant of the TV (kids were at their grandparents so going to take advantage of a quiet house). When we got home, the food was still hot and crazy yummy. The Northern Exposure was everything I have dreamed of and more. I also had some of hubby's Turtle Cheesecake Pancakes. Those were soooo gooooddddddd. Overall, it was a fantastic experience. I do wish the locations had more seating in and outdoors (weather so nice in Tallahassee in the mornings). Whenever I'm back in Tallahassee, my parents without fail want to grab breakfast or brunch. Canopy Road Cafe has been around for a good while now, although it was after I left Tallahassee in 2009. According to my parents, this location is relatively new, as they moved from walking distance from my parents' home to unfortunately, a quick drive. There was quite a bit of a wait around 10:30am on a Saturday morning, although there seemed to be empty tables available - they just hadn't gotten around to bussing the tables. Regarding service - there are so many people working. However, it looks like everyone working there was doing the exact same thing. Everyone seated their own guests, served their own guests, and bussed their own tables. How can they not see the bottlenecks this creates in efficiency? Most restaurants have a hostess, servers and a busboy or two. It took a while to order, get our food, and grab the attention of our super busy server. I can't blame him - the fault is in the process. We ordered different egg entrees. I ended up ordering the Douglas - avocado and bacon with turkey topped with three over medium eggs?? Yes, please! Food here is very simple, in a diner sense: a step up from Waffle House. Overall, a solid breakfast but not brunch. Nothing special (especially service-wise) but food isn't bad.
