Biscuits and gravy on top waffle and the Florida breakfast.
    Melanie S.

The biscuits are all that!!! And the grits are even better. I am not usually a grits person but these have white cheddar cheese in them and they are super light. My husband had the biscuits and gravy with scrambled eggs on top and grits. I had the Florida Breakfast: two eggs two chicken sausage grits a biscuit and a waffle . The only thing better than the food was the excellent service from Amber. Would definitely return.

OMG! Everything was simply delicious! I was thrilled to hear that this establishment was coming to Tallahassee. I had eaten at a Flying Biscuit in Atlanta several years ago and thoroughly enjoyed the meal. Our visit to the Flying Biscuit here did not disappoint. There was a bit of a snafu regarding being on a wait list (I had inquired by calling the restaurant earlier and was specifically informed that they don't do reservations or wait lists, which was not true). In any case, though the line was out the door when we arrived, once I put our name on the list and informed the hostess that we were ok with outside dining (there were heaters in the area), we were seated within 10 minutes. The inside dining area is not super spacious, but quite adamant for a typical cafe-like feel. The outdoor dining area has about 7 or 8 tables, so it is a sufficient area. Our server was marvelous; very patient, very accommodating with our "asks." We certainly appreciated that she let us know up front that the kitchen staff was limited and it may be a while before our food arrived. We passed the time chit-chatting, so it was ok. From starting with the beignet donuts and Firecracker Shrimp to the various other entrees we ordered - all of which included the creamy grits - we enjoyed the food. My daughter, sister, and our family friend all enjoyed their mimosas as well! :-). Be prepared to wait to be seated, especially if dining inside; however, I can tell you, it is certainly worth the wait! Note, one of the servers we encountered didn't seem to be thrilled to be working (maybe she was having a bad day). Also, the chicken sausage patties seemed a bit "tough" (fried a bit too hard maybe), but were tasty nevertheless. All in all, we enjoyed our meals and will definitely plan to return.

Tried this place out for the first time. The food was really very good. My husband said all of his food was delicious too. It was a long wait since it was peak time around lunch. I like the link they send for the waitlist. They said they were short serving staff. Our server could have been better and hustled more. If so, I would have given 5 stars.

Food was 5 stars, service was another 5 stars. Sat at the bar and ambiance was nice relaxing. It was getting busy. I liked how the server asked if I want sausage instead of grits. Tried this at Canopy Road Cafe couple weeks ago and they wouldn't for what ever reason even through the cost is the same.

Food was pricey but good. This place reminds me a lot of canopy road. The biscuits were good.

I liked the opportunity to try these sodas on tap and not commit to one. That's a really fun idea. Pancakes were fluffy and delicious. The bacon was good and I love strawberry pancakes so I'm a big fan when that's on the menu. I really didn't spend a lot of time there, but everyone was friendly and courteous and I didn't have to wait too long for anything from being greeted when I got there to being served. Large table inside was much better although the chair was uncomfortable for this big guy. Our drinks were brought quickly as well as plates of their lagniappe of pimento cheese and Ritz crackers. Our food orders were taken quickly too. Took a good amount of time to get our food and I don't think anyone was impressed with the flavor. I got neither a smoky taste nor a sausage taste from the sausage in my omelette. The Gruyère cheese was bland. Smoked Gouda grits needed salt and were not much for flavor either. Wife's French toast was ok and the bacon was rather plain for flavor. Service was excellent and the food came out pretty quick once it got done so it was still warm. It is loud inside when it is busy. Concrete floors and open ceiling guarantees plenty of echo. This is another $15-$20/person breakfast place to choose from and, for me, I would choose one of my favorites in the future. Glad I tried it because lots of people love the place but it's not for me.

Whether it's a friendly face at the bar, or someone coming in for an event in the "back bar", Sage is a must for upscale Tallahassee dining. The price point is outstanding for the quality of your meal. The portions are hefty and we never leave hungry. The road construction in the Market St district has not deterred us from making our regular burger night. Do not let it stop you. Tip... The burgers are served in the bar only. If you crave their savory Wagyu burger be sure to reserve a seat in bar/bistro seating OR visit them on their new Burger Monday in the dining room. It looks like they have a great new Monday night burger special with a wine pairing.

We chose to dine on their colorful outdoor terrace, and when I tell you that we were transported to another country.... I mean, it literally took us out of Tally and dropped us in a tropical paradise. As the sun went down, the lights began to glow. The ambiance was surreal. I repeatedly told my husband I felt thousands of miles away from home. Was it the cafe lights or the Sangria? I can't be sure. The live music began and it was a whole vibe. Heads turned, ears perked up, and an entire terrace just exhaled. The sultry atmosphere was only overshadowed by the savory food. Dear Lord we ate far too much. What is that saying? Ask forgiveness not permission. Sounds about right. We started with cocktails and Fried Yucca. The Jamaican Margarita was a perfect blend with a sweet sugared rim. The Sangria was a full party in the glass with fresh fruit. The Yucca portion was hefty, but we ate it ALL. In hindsight, we should have saved more room for our actual meal. We ordered Lomo Saltado Beef that was so tender and rich, and it was accompanied by another hefty portion of indulgent carbs. See? That's where moderation in our starter would have been wise. Ahh lessons learned. If we had saved half of the Yucca for leftovers it would have reheated in an air fryer beautifully. We also ordered the Escabeche which was a beautifully fried , snapper filet served with sweet potato and rice. The sauce was simple and elegant with that classic tart vinegar bite. We looked at the dessert menu. I repeat, looked. We simply had no more room. We'll be back soon and promise to make it to the dessert menu and coffee.
