I'm not gonna lie, I was pretty iffy on going to Waffle House on Christmas Day, but this was probably the best Waffle House we have ever been to. Despite having to work on Christmas, the customer service was amazing and the food was hot, fresh, delicious and super quick! The vibes were just a really good time and even though I didn't want to go at first, having breakfast for Christmas dinner with my family was probably my favorite part of the whole day. If I could give one star I would! I went to Waffle House at 5am today & normally you can go in and eat, but the doors were locked. There were two employees there, a server and a cook. The server came to the window and said I could only place an order to go, which was fine. I ordered my food and sat outside and waited. She told me my total would be $10.60 and I handed her my card. I asked for a receipt but she said she couldn't print it. I just checked my bank statement and she charged me $16. I tried calling once I seen the notification from my bank but of course they don't have a phone that will answer. Service: Workers were friendly and nice, but just a bit slow. Food: This place is called "waffle house" so I was expecting their main dishes to be waffle based. However, that didnt seem like the case. The menu was filled with different kinds of melts and waffles seemed like more of a side dish to order. It was also interesting that when we asked for recommendations, the waitress recommended melts and not waffles. - waffles: we gave it a try anyway because we felt like we should.. (it's called "waffle house"!) The waffles werent bad, but they didnt taste like waffles. They werent crispy at all... they were more like fluffy pancakes in the form of a waffle. - melts: I had the bacon egg and cheese melt which wasnt bad. However, the toast was on the greasy and salty side.. and the bacon and cheese made it even more salty. My friends who ordered the cheesesteak melt also said it was salty. They got the "meal" which comes with a side of hashbrowns. They didnt say a word about it so I'm assuming it was just whatever. Would I come back? Maybe if I'm looking for another late-night diner. The service I received was some of the best I've ever received at a Waffle House. We're talking old time servers that love calling you "Honey and Sweetie". Funky music was playing in the background and there was quite a show going on behind the counter. Being an old restaurant manager, I loved watch the "poetry in motion" of the grill cook. I was fascinated watching her lay out her plates and keep all the orders straight in her head. Waffle House must provide incredible training for their cooks and servers. This is my go-to Waffle House. It's not far from where I live, and over the years I've come to know the staff. This restaurant is very consistent-I always know how my order will come out and it always does. Of course, WH's signature item is their waffles. LOVE their pecan waffles. Their eggs and hash browns can't be beat. When you make a million orders of these things, you get good at it! And you can't beat their prices. The staff is always upbeat and jovial, ready to share or listen to a story. When we visit, Miss Joyce is always our server - she has adopted us. I exited the freeway and all the gas stations were closed and some just had the window available. (I guess, this might not be the best of neighborhoods...Idk.) When I Seen that there was this Waffle House that was opened I opened the door to a half closed gas station, I jumped at the opportunity to get ice. I opened the door, greeted the employees and asked if I could have a cup of ice to go. I tipped the waitress a dollar, as it was the only cash I had on hand and I sincerely thanked her. I love Waffle House, and eat there frequently especially this location. That being said, I went there last night around midnight, and had the worst customer service experience I have ever had, at any restaurant hands down!!! I went here after going to a concert. I frequent this restaurant, so I know that you sit at the bar to get an order to go. However, the bar/to go area was full. There was no place to sit or even get close to the area. I saw a couple of open booths so I sat down. There were approximately 8 people there working. Within a few minutes, a guy that works there, came to me and asked if my order was for here or to go. I replied "to go." He immediately told me I had to get up, that the booth was for customers! I replied "what?!?" "I am a customer!!" " I don't see anyone waiting to be seated and there is no place to sit at the bar/to go area, the seats are full." He replied, " I know, you have to stand up!!" Now he was young, and obviously had no idea how important customer service is. And again, this was an open booth, no one was waiting to be seated. I politely told him I will not get up, I don't see anyone waiting on this booth, and, I am a customer!!! He walked off. I sat there 20 mins with all these employees looking at me and no one took my order. This guy just kept walking past me. So I asked him if he was going to take my to go order. He replied, " I told you to stand up, that way anybody can help you!" I really wanted to leave at that point, but I had a taste for pecan waffles! I got up, stood there and about three employees or more came over to tell me they saw me sitting there. I told them what this guy had done asked, another employee, Don Juan, if he saw me why didn't he just come take my order. He replied that is, his ( the other guy) area. So by now I'm really upset. Ann, another employee apologized, told me to sit in her booth, and she would help me. Which I gladly did. While she's getting my order ready, other employees are huddled around this mean guy, whose name is Anthony, getting his side of the story. One, whom I will call The Birthday Girl due to the one dollar bills she had pinned to her chest, was snickering as if this was funny! I won't go into every other detail of this miserable experience, but Ann was great, she got my order ready and I gave her a nice tip. As I'm leaving, Anthony and The Birthday Girl and a couple others, we're talking badly about me, well, Anthony was, the rest were just snickering. I left but went back in to get his name, which I didn't know, I walked back in on him speaking badly about me, I looked at him, trying to see his name tag, he yelled at me "Anthony!!!!! Wow!!! Really?!?! I have never experienced such awful service at any restaurant let alone the Waffle House! I would not recommend this location due to Anthony, and his poor customer service.
