First time trying First Watch after hearing good things, and unfortunately the food couldn't save the service. We got seated quickly, no complaints there. My family ordered salads, some pancakes, a club sandwich, and I went bold with the million dollar breakfast sandwich (I too deserve nice things). Everyone else's food came out together... mine did not. Apparently my sandwich decided to take the scenic route. Our waitress didn't seem to notice or care that I was just sitting there without a plate. When I asked the runners about my plate, they said they'd let our server know since it wasn't on their ticket. That's okay, I get it. It happens! We all forget a thing or two. So I waited til I could locate our server to ask her if she entered it. It took our server a solid 15 minutes to make her way back to us, at which point I asked her for the sandwich I'd ordered a while ago. She did not seem moved by my plight and wandered off to, presumably, locate it. Another 10 minutes later, my sandwich arrived like a conquering hero around 25 minutes after everyone else had basically finished eating. Was it good? Yes. Was it worth the wait? Absolutely not, it was just a breakfast sandwich. It would've been great if it had just shown up with everyone else's food like a normal menu item. The restaurant didn't seem busy, so I don't know what happened. Regardless the food was solid. The service could use some tweaking. Probably will be back, I won't let one bad day ruin my experience. read more

I've been here several times and it's always consistently good. It's also consistently busy, but that's with all good spots. I only mention it so you can plan for a wait at times. Otherwise it's a nice spot in a cool side of town. The decor is fresh and the outside patio is a favorite, even in the hotter months with the huge fans. Y'all know me man ima be as honest as I can. The place itself is perfect to take your girl or a lil date cause the aesthetics of the restaurant and food are top notch! Even the service was solid! But... As a man I'm gonna be real the flavor wasn't there for me. Good for couples or people without families. Wait time was long even with a reservation. Do not come on a Saturday before 12:30 pm unless you want to wait and feel rushed for the next customer. Luckily the food did come out fast and the food was good. I absolutely loved my summer seasonal elote breakfast burrito. Next time I will stick to the first watch on camp Bowie which has a more relaxed atmosphere even when people are waiting. My brunch experience at First Watch was just okay. We put our name on the wait list before leaving the house, so we did not have to wait as long as some other people we saw. First Watch is incredibly busy on the weekend, so this step is critical if you don't want to wait for a long time. The menu is varied and there is a good selection to appeal to everyone in your party. I got the traditional breakfast which was plenty of food. While the food was fine, the service fell flat. After taking our order, we didn't see our server until she brought the check. I'm sure she was busy, but a check-in or two would have been nice to avoid having to flag her down from across the room to get refills or jam. The restaurant itself was pretty clean with a nice waiting area outside, but the restrooms needed a little attention. I would visit again, but First Watch wouldn't be my first choice. The food was so good! The waffle is so light. My waiter was incredible. She was nice. I also love the building. I love the lights. The only reason they did not get 5 five. I enjoy being left alone to chat with family/friends but when people are hanging cocktails, they usually want more than one. The biscuits and gravy are SOOO GOOD! The million dollar potatoes are phenomenal but are very rich so a great side to share with others. I always sit there to eat breakfast. They were not busy - had about 5 tables and plenty of employees walking round. I sat at the bar for 15 - 20 minutes and was never greeted, offered water/coffee, etc. I finally walked out and went to Blue Mound restaurant on W Vickery. I used to go to that First Watch 2-3 times per week. Their service has deteriorated over the last year. I only go there about once a month now. read more

We ordered our food and birthday drinks for sister and enjoyed each other's company. We talked, laughed and she drank. As her taste tester out of the five, I thought the Cinnamon Toast Cereal Milk brunch cocktail was the best. I'm a French Toast girl and these were made just right. Big First Watch guy here so I was excited when this new location opened! The restaurant has such a lovely redesign, feeling light and airy compared to the older restaurants that are filled with dark wood. Also the outside seating/bar area looks perfect for nice weather occasions! The food was great as always, I ordered an Elevated Egg Sammy and added goat cheese (honestly it's the move, try it) and my mom got the Frittata Rustica which she loved. Food came out quick and was great temperature, my egg was perfectly over medium. Also HUGE shoutout to Desirae our server. For being only open for one week she was doing such a great job explaining the dishes and making sure we were taken care of. You're a real one Desirae.
