Waffle House's reputation gets treated like an unruly entity. But, not from me. Although I am picky about which location(s) I choose, still, whenever and wherever, it's always a well deserved 5 stars for me. Why? Two words - Simplicity and Satisfaction!! We stopped by this location after the maze and hassle that is also known as Atlanta's airport. It was a convenient stop and we were nearly ravenous. The service and the food hit both marks for me. Every time! Say or believe what you'd like, but the food is affordable and quite delicious. Especially, if you're craving it, it hits the spot. The service is efficient and friendly. The minimal noise or chatter is never deafening. I usually go with a plain or blueberry waffle. The crunchy to softness ratio is always perfect for my liking. I don't like thick waffles at all, so the size here is preferable and perfect, too. I ask for onions added to my hash browns and the grits are thick and tasty as well. As always, I can barely finish before I am stuffed. When you come here... You find a seat (usually the counter top for me), you order, you eat, you pay, you exit. A win! read more

I would never visit this location every again in my life. I ordered a grill Texas chicken melt and when I received it back the whole order was wrong. I was very specific how I wanted it so it wouldn't be messed up but it was still wrong. I asked to get it remade over because I am allergic to tomatoes they said it wasn't their problem and I have to order another meal which I didn't understand. I even told them to add bacon on it and they said they forgot, plus anyone knows that all melts goes on Texas toast unless you want a change made. I'm not going to compare this Waffle House to the Palm Restaurant. It's a Waffle House. And for WH, it was not so great. The tables were all dirty when I arrived at 10:45 AM and it took a good ten minutes for my waitress to wipe the table down with a maybe-clean rag and take my order. The next table over didn't get cleaned for a further ten minutes until other customers sat down there. My meal was cooked perfectly, even though it didn't come out in much of an order. The slice of ham, then the waffle, and a few minutes later, the eggs and hash browns. Exactly as ordered and cooked nicely. Listening to the crew bitching about who didn't show up for work, who doesn't work very hard and three times recalling orders to the cook, made for a poor experience. As long as they get my food right, they pretty much get four stars from me. Im from atlanta and my mom use to work at waffle house, so I know when they doing it right. I work a night shift and get off at 7am and this was the nearest location between work and home I ordered over the phone and 8 mins later was pulling into the parking lot. My food was not ready but was being prepared and nearly ready to go into my to go container. On Sunday morning the place was pretty empty except for me and the sheriff deputy that stopped by for some coffee Paid, took my food, got home, every thing was cooked to perfection and I had syrup and butter for my strawberry waffle. read more

I came here this morning for breakfast because I have heard that Atlanta has the best Waffle house. When you enter the restaurant they have a set of rules by the door which is cute to look at. This restaurant is self seating. The waitress named Meci was great. She was very polite and attentive. We ordered the All Star Special and the T-bone steak and eggs. The steak is 8 ounces that is what I was told and it was cooked to a perfect medium. I was disappointed that the only waffle was paper thin and the only cheese option for my grits and eggs was American cheese. There was nothing special about this restaurant that would make me want to come back here in a hurry. The food does get to the table quickly and it is inexpensive. Overall, I am in no rush to come back to this restaurant for food. But, the servers that I spoke with were really nice. read more

We ordered two American all stars and the waiter had to fix our order multiple times. From the bacon being burnt to wanting blueberry waffles and not even getting them. Lastly we heard the waitress verbally say if she didn't get a good tip she wasn't gonna serve the customers well. It was a struggle to give this two stars. I have such fond memories of waffle House and this was a let down. Our server may have been perfect for breakfast and a show, that's not the mood we were in though. She sang through the entirety of our meal and even continued to finish get run at our table before being able to greet us. She was nice though. I ordered cheese grits and unfortunately I was give a slice of cheese under my grits that weren't even warm enough to melt it. I understand the waffle bits now... Mine came with a little bit attached that still had uncooked batter on it. The waffle was also accompanied by cold syrup. Biscuits and gravy were also cold and very salty. The sausages for the sausage biscuits were a 1/2 inch too small all around. I also almost died walking on the floors presumably mopped with a solution of half water half cooking grease. Just a couple of hours before my flight to Atlanta, I met two people originally from Atlanta at a happy hour/birthday party event in Hermosa Beach. How random is that!? Little did I know that this diner place is very popular in the south. To me they were everywhere like ABC stores in the touristy part of Honolulu. Overall the food was OK. Probably by far THE WORST experience at a Waffle House I've ever had! Eating should not take 2, almost 3 hours. We came in and waited for a table. None of them had been touched, all were dirty and still full of plates. One of the servers finally cleaned off a table and had us sit down after we'd been waiting almost 15 minutes. We sat down, along with a few other tables. While the cooks and the waitresses lollygagged around and argued with each other, we sat there for damn near 30 minutes before I finally had to ask if anyone was going to take an order. All that did was start another whole argument about who "ain't doing what". Finally a lady who'd been there since 2 the day before (according to her) took our order. We had to keep asking for every piece of it, from the covered, chunked, country hashbrowns I wanted, to our drinks. Yeah. Never got those hashbrowns either. It basically took us a whole nother 60 minutes to get our full order. That same older lady took care of all three tables that had walked in with us. We asked for butter, it was picked off another table that had dishes on it since we arrived. The whole experience was just a complete clusterfuck. Now, I don't necessarily go to WH for the service. I ready know the servers there are the sketchiest members of society, at best. But...c'mon, man. I shouldn't have to be subjected to bullshit to get a $8 meal because people can't get their responsibilities together. Being I just moved to Atlanta, this is not a good representation of what I want to see, some ghetto chicks arguing and complaining about life, but can't do the little menial work they have in front of them. read more

There are Waffle Houses EVERYWHERE in GA. We actually drove here from the airport because we had to try waffles before flying back to San Francisco. We walked in and was immediately enveloped with the smell of pancake, syrup and buttery goodness. It bustling, busy and were seated immediately at a table. First thing we noticed, it was ridiculously cheap! We have decided California has been ripping us off this whole time. Order the buttermilk waffle: its fluffy, the texture is just right, lightly crispy on the outside. The chocolate chip one is good too! Sweet Ice tea is delicious: a little too sweet, but soo good. Biscuit and gravy: the gravy was good but the biscuit was a little disappointing, I would opt out of this one. Hashbrowns: taste very different from CA hashbrowns, its less crispy and fried and more potato-y Grits: AMAZING. I don't really like grits but this one changed my mind. This Waffle House is great! Fast service and delicious food! It was right across the street from our hotel but, since Comfort Inn & Suites offers free continental breakfast we only got to eat here once. :( All of the cooks were very sweet old ladies and they made you fill like you were at grandma's for breakfast on a Saturday morning. We weren't rushed at all. It's funny how there's another Waffle House not even another tenth of a mile right down the street. My wife and I had waffles, sausage and grits. The grits were some of the best I've ever had. Even my daughter was quiet the whole meal savoring every bite. That's saying a lot as she has severe diarrhea of the mouth 24/7! I came in here after an extremely trying night at the airport trying to find a hotel room. It was late, the crowd, undesirable, me, super hangry. Waitress was fine with me sitting far away from everyone else, even though it would have been much more convenient for me to sit closer to the crowd. THe staff was hilarious and interacting with their late night regulars, even haggling out off the menu orders. My first time going to a Waffle House was 8 years ago. I didn't like the food. It was the last time until today. Today, was different. Mrs. Gaynell was wonderful. She told me I would like the food and I did. The cooks were quick, professional and they know how to cook the food right. I guess it depends on the location and cook. . Brand new and really nice on the inside but we waited longer than we have ever waited before for the waitress to take our order and then to finally get our food. It was not that crowded and there were 6 employees working. Waffle House has been around for a long time with a proven business model but apparently this particular one hasn't been trained properly.
