Incompetence at its finest.
Christine F.

This place is a shit show! The worst Waba Grill ever. Door sign says they close at 9pm, but if u walk in at 8pm the short lady with an attitude and too much makeup for her own good tells you they are no longer serving salads for the night because she has put them away. and if you walk in her at 8:40 pm, like I've done the last time I've tried to order, they even tell you that only pickup phone orders because they're no longer cooking food as they've already prepared for closing. The other slightly taller lady today told me that, "It's because we've been slow." NO! Don't make excuses for your coworker's bad excuse of having put away the salads a whole one hour before closing time! YOU GUYS DON'T GET THE CUSTOMERS COMING IN (A.K.A. ARE SLOW) BECAUSE YOUR LAZY ASSES TURN ALL THE CUSTOMERS AWAY WHEN THEY ACTUALLY TRY TO ORDER!! I understand if it's 10 minutes to closing, but a whole hour?? Closing time is at 9pm, doesn't mean you clock out at 9pm. I have worked in the food service industry much of my college life and understand that the door closes to customers at 9pm. If you're too lazy to work a job with specific hours, go drive Uber Eats at your own time. OR DO YOU GIVE ME THESE EXCUSES BECAUSE I'M NOT THE RACE YOU EXPECT TO SERVE?? I can contemplate the race card.... so which one is it? Waba Grill Panorama City employees, are you just too lazy? Or a bigot and racist?? Cuz your actually might be both. You are a disgusting establishment. The owners of this Waba Grill should reevaluate their staff, fire the Wednesday night crew as they have consistently been incompetent (short lazy female employee on Wednesday nights, look up what incompetence means). I manage several apartment buildings in the area and I will surely share how horrible this Waba location is until you guys either change staff or close down, because I would much rather prefer an establishment that serves the community when they say they will.

A good alternative to fast food. I personally thinks it's a healthier choice than burgers and pizza. They have wider selection, for people who are conscious about what they eat. They serve all kinds of meat;beef, chicken and fish. If you're always on the go and no time to cook, I would recommend this place.

COVID!!!! , n what the fuxk am i paying or for delivery fees n extra if i have to go out n find out where my food was dropped off ?' This company is TRASH!! The old ass lady wouldn't let me explain or talk she keep cutting me off , hung up on me n talking n then when i Told her can u let me explain , her reply " omg!!!" Like I'm fuxking bothering her?! The fuxk , dnt waste ur time or money here. Thanks "Charlie " the manger /owner as the staff said , ur running a crappy location with crappy ppl working there !!!

As I entered I was greeted right away by several employees.Small little location located in the same parking lot of Walmart. The kitchen is very visible and you can see the employees prepare your food order. My dish was made to order. All there dishes are made to order.Always fresh. I had the combo plate of Chicken and Steak plate with too side items, very good. The set up for this concept is very nice, most of all its will organized and kept very clean.Good Job. Their concept is Eat Smart,Be Healthy! Good Job 2015 Yelp Challenge.029/100

The service and food here is Awesome everyday. I'm a regular visitor to this WaBa Grill location. I find it to be a very friendly, clean and pleasantly enjoyable restaurant to grab a healthy bite to eat everyday. I always order the Chicken Veggie bowl no Sauce with Brown Rice. It's the bomb!!

The menu features various dishes, including cheeseburger, DRAGON sushi, rib eye, and even tacos de pescado, ensuring everyone finds something enjoyable to eat. The quality of the dishes is acceptable: neither very tasty nor very unappetizing. As far as prices go, I would say they were reasonable considering the amount of food provided. However, one downside of this restaurant worth pointing out is that portions here are relatively small. Therefore, if you come here with your whole family, better make sure you're not too hungry since the portions won't be sufficient to feed everyone. To sum up, I think this is a great option if you are looking for a clean place where you can have a nice lunch or dinner and try different dishes. The service was somewhat slow. Even though the restaurant wasn't crowded, it did take some time to get seated. Moreover once we had placed our order it again took time for the food to arrive. However the food was still fresh.

Just happened to drop in on a Thursday Happy Hour so Sushi Rolls were 50% off. It was not busy being the early middle part of rush hour on the road. Was greeted and seated quick. The whole menu looks so exciting though the prices are a bit high, made it hard to decide what to try. I opted to try sushi this time around since I was solo. Rolls were good portioned not skimpy but I would opt for lighter rice if possible if planning to eat plenty. Sister Sister Roll came first. Sauce or onions or both combined made a strong bitter taste but good. The Albacore from top tasted good alone while the roll itself was good. Very often when I try latino fusion sushi the rice gets too sweetened or not at all. The rice tasted not sweetened but seasoned enough and still slightly warm with good texture. I believe they may have used some proper sushi rice here rather than just any rice. Then came the Agua Chile and Mango Habanero Roll. All three rolls came well garnished accordingly, maybe even heavy. Agua Chile had a fresh tart taste. Mango Roll was strong with the sweetness as good mango should. Server was frequent in checking on me, refilled my water before I even had to ask. No appetite for dessert this time around as I was on an empty stomach. The room had Latino music playing and multiple TVs. Elegant Decor without feeling too upscale. Definitely come with an appetite and another person. More to come after I try some entrees and cocktails.

We went in person and ordered two Bulgogi bibi bowls and 6 chicken wings to go ($57) You have to order through a screen but the workers are right in front of you. Normally that would not be a big deal but not a single smile, greeting, or acknowledgment came from the staff. That was the first red flag. We waited nearly 30 minutes for our order and during that entire time no one said a word to us. No updates, no "thanks for waiting," nothing. Just uncomfortable side eye glances while we stood there. When I finally got the food, I said "thank you so much" and the cooks response was "mhm." And the food was the worst part. The bulgogi was so salty it did not even taste like bulgogi anymore. It was SO salty that it felt intentional. The chicken wings were dry, tasted old, and were honestly so gross I did not even feel comfortable giving them to my dog. After waiting that long and paying those prices the quality was unacceptable. I hate leaving bad reviews but this was genuinely disappointing from every angle. Will never return.

It's no wonder I've missed it all these years -- but since Yelp already named it their #1 Burger Spot all the way back in 2017, it's clear I'm exceptionally late to a party others have been enjoying quite some time. The differences are obvious the moment you walk in, with a modest but well-kept decor of good quality furnishings feeling far more homey than the usual corner stand. The clientele is a mix of blue collar workers, white collar workers, and retirees, all eating from the surprisingly varied menu. Burgers are the first star you notice, sporting a number of interesting preparations with both American and Korean flare. And it's that Korean flare that's highlighted on the rest of the menu, which features a range of BBQ meats and other specialties served on sizzling platters or in combination bowls. You order at the counter, which allows you a view of the burners with pans of seafood and beef simmering in homemade sauces and giving off an irresistible aroma. But resist them I did, as I'd come in to try their oft-lauded burger. I ordered the Spicy Jalapeño, built with a freshly grilled Angus patty, American cheese, lettuce, tomato, shredded cabbage, fresh (raw) slices of jalapeños, crispy onion rings, and a duet of special sauces: garlic aioli and Korean BBQ. It was a big bite of a burger, held together by a much-appreciated, tightly folded wrapper. But I've gotten slightly ahead of myself. It's important to first note that the burgers are truly made to order, and you wait about 10 minutes for your food to be ready. That's more than okay, because the quality is evident from the first bite. The beef is good; flavorful and cooked to a juicy medium, the cheese properly melted and gooey. The veggies are all fresh, and those sliced jalapeños really packed a punch -- raw is so much better than pickled. On to those special sauces, thankfully NOT another variation of the Russian dressing "burger and fry sauce" that seems relentlessly present everywhere nowadays. Here, they use a garlic aioli that keenly balanced between sweet and spicy (in that garlicky spicy way); they pair that with a sweet, Korean style BBQ, with Asian flavors that cleverly contrast the sweetness of the aioli. Yes, 2 different sweets hitting against the garlic and the jalapeños. In Van Nuys? Come on!! For a little over $5 you make it a combo, with a very generous portion of nicely crispy fries and a 20oz drink. At $16.50, this is a great deal. And all around me, folks were eating the Korean BBQ or chicken, and it all smelled exactly as good as it did when it was simmering on the stove. This place is a major find, even if everyone else found it before me. I'll be back very soon, and probably soon after that.

It's such a unique Korean-Mexican fusion spot -- flavors you truly won't find anywhere else. The combination sounds unexpected, but somehow it works perfectly. We've tried a few different items over the years, but the Chicken Korean Fries are our absolute favorite every time. Nothing like it exists. The flavors are bold, layered, slightly sweet, savory, and just combined so deliciously. It's one of those dishes you crave again and again. It's definitely a hole-in-the-wall spot in a small shopping center -- super unassuming -- but don't let that fool you. It's 100% a must-try. Some of the best, most unique food is always hiding in places like this. If you're looking for something different and seriously delicious, put this on your list. We'll keep coming back.

The service personally wasn't the greatest and that's why I gave it a 2 star. There were only 2 lady workers running the show for 18 tables I think I counted. Which had a Hispanic male in the back and I was like this is not authentic pho. I was cold and I asked if I could not sit by the door and she told me no. They took forever to bring utensils and napkins. The ambiance was casual and okay. At the end when I was almost finished with my pho I notice two Asian men came in and the lady knew them but gave them a huge table and they did not order food or anything which I was like damn that sucks. I'm cold sitting next to the door and they walked in and got a nice sitting. And I knew if I brought CAREMAL kisses she would have not liked the meat it was chewy and the texture was a bit weird. And this is coming from me so I know she had a part that she left on me to be detailed about the taste and texture because I wouldn't have said anything before meeting her. That side is named Kusina Ni Kuya and has a vast catering menu. I came here for a carry out from the Cajun side and picked as I did before, the half pound shrimp. The only difference is this time, I opted for the peeled version. This was prepared in the house Kuya sauce, medium spicy, with an extra of boiled okra. The dish did not disappoint and was consistent in texture and flavor, and a glorious mixture of spices as before. This entrée has a lot of oil added to it, but that is what brings out this burst of taste and satisfaction. Everything was soaked with the thick sauce. This time what I did at home was, I boiled a few golden premium small potatoes with skin, sliced them into quarters and added it to the mix. Once it soaked up the gravy of the shrimp dish, the potatoes ascended to a totally different level. So how does the peeled version compare to the whole shrimp version? I would say that the whole shrimp selection is the way to go. The meat is not overcooked and you get the flavor off the shrimp shells too, that kicks it up more than a notch. In addition, the fact that you have to use your fingers to get to the shrimp meat (though messy), heightens the pleasure of the dining experience.

Not some sad, watered-down, reheated nonsense like other places try to pass off--I got REAL Cajun seafood. Properly cooked. Properly seasoned. Actually worth paying for. I ordered crawfish, clams, mussels, and head-on shrimp, and every single tray came out piping hot, drenched in that bold, garlicky, buttery sauce that hits you like a freight train. Not bland. Not timid. Not "lightly seasoned for the masses." No--this is full-flavor, unapologetic, get-it-all-over-your-hands Cajun. The crawfish? Seasoned all the way through, not just dusted on the outside like some lazy joke. Other spots--take notes. The shrimp? Perfectly cooked, heads packed with flavor. If you're scared of that, stay home and order chicken tenders. The clams and mussels? Clean, tender, not a single one questionable--which already puts them ahead of places charging MORE and serving LESS. And then the sides--this is where it gets ridiculous. Boiled okra, sweet corn, quail eggs, all soaked in that same sauce? That's not a side--that's a statement. Everything is absorbing flavor like it's supposed to. No shortcuts. No laziness. Just execution. And here's what really separates them from the clowns-- the quality never dropped. You keep ordering, they keep delivering heat. Same flavor. Same intensity. No "second round is worse" nonsense. That's what happens when a kitchen actually knows what it's doing. Meanwhile, other seafood spots are out here charging premium prices for bland, overcooked garbage and calling it "Cajun." Stop it. Just stop. This is how it's DONE. Messy. Bold. Loud. Flavor in your face. Hands covered in sauce. Zero regrets. If you leave Cajun Ni Kuya unsatisfied, don't blame the restaurant--blame your taste buds. I'll be back. And I'm bringing an appetite that's ready for war.
