Nothing but great things to say about this place. It's Salted Pig's sister, which is reflected in the atmosphere and the uniqueness of the menu. Good selection of liquors available, including cachaça (aged and unaged!!!), pisco, and more. The bartenders are pretty rad. Can't sum it up much more. They know their stuff and are always creating new things (Absinthe-Minded Professor, anyone?). Food menu is a tad on the small side (the summer menu, at least) but you go there mainly to drink. The happy hour menu includes about 5-6 drinks only (it's not written anywhere, so you have to ask your server about it), with no food items - which was a bummer! It's the second offering from the owner of The Salted Pig which is around the corner. (My review on the pig soon) My buddy had a Harvey Wallbanger and I tried a martini. I can say that it was the best martini I've ever had. Seriously, Paul the bartender, or mixologist or whatever he'd liked to be called, is a master. I ordered it dirty, which it was, but instead of the typical olives, it was garnished with a lemon peel. It gave it a slight tart flavor that complimented it perfectly. This place has amazing decor, cool drinks, great servers and bartender. EXCEPT there is a waitress named Marlene with black and blonde highlighty things that does not match the dankness priorly described. She was simply slow and rude. I hope she doesn't have assburgers and that they gave her a job because they wanted to do something nice for her family. If that's the case, I apologize to her and her family. If not, then she should try Buddhism or some sort of intellectual and spiritual journey to find a sense of happiness in herself. After hearing about this place from various people, a friend and I visited Wolf Skill last night. It was a bit hard to find, since the building is delicately tucked between a plethora of law offices and bail bonds offices in downtown Riverside. As the other reviewers have mentioned, it has a low key modern minimalist rustic vibe. There was relatively loud music in the background and dim lighting that contributed to an earthy and laid back atmosphere. Our server, Jennifer, who was amazingly friendly and helpful, explained the menu and concept to us and offered us happy hour drinks. The happy hour drinks were a hit and miss for me. I don't remember their names (because they weren't written anywhere and felt like I was being a nuisance every time I asked her to recite them to me again). Essentially I had what I think was called a Mexican Riviera, which was a tequila based drink. It was good, not amazing, and I don't know if I would order it again. I have no idea what the second drink was called, but it had a LOT of ginger in it. Very very spicy. It was better once some of the ice melted, but I wouldn't order it again. My third drink was a Mint Julep. It was fine as far as those go. These were all $6 so I can't really complain about that price for a handmade cocktail created with care. The best drink of the night was by far the Floozy shot. It was AMAZING. Perfect balance of sweetness and liquor. I think on my next visit I will stick to whats on the regular menu and avoid the happy hour menu (the HH menu allows you to save a buck or two at the expense of forgettable drinks). My friend and I didn't really order much food. We had the pork belly, which was fine. It had a nice balance of sweet and salty, but the pork belly was a little too fatty for my personal taste. The mashed potatoes that sat beneath the pork like little pillows were delicious and the sweet relish on top added a surprising shot of flavor to the dish. It was good, but it's not a dish I am dying to try again. As other reviewers have said these are SMALL plates and they are pricey. None of the dishes sounded very appetizing, and although it may be low brow, I wish they had some french fries. French fries with truffles, garlic and an aioli dipping sauce if they want to be fancy. I would recommend eating before you go. Overall I enjoyed this experience. They definitely need a web presence. In a technological age a web presence is a must for a burgeoning business. And a more simplistic and accessible dining menu wouldn't hurt either. As this business grows it will get better and I am excited to see where it will go! read more

This had to be our 3rd time stopping by and this had to be our favorite time! The entire bar makes you feel like you're not in DTR from the decor to the staff. We sat at the bar and Sookie took definite care of us the whole time. I've never had such a nice bartender and a funny one too, to say the least. I wanted to give this place a full fiver, but almost every time we've been here... the service tends to linger in one spot when sitting at the bar. Bartenders kind of forget about you if you're not sitting right in front of where they make the drinks, so I would suggest sitting close to it, otherwise you are liable to lose your buzz before receiving another drink. Besides that, when served, the bartenders are friendly and informative as far as what is contained in each drink, and which is the strongest and will give me more bang for my buck. Most of their drinks are pretty strong though, so if you are a lightweight like me, this is the place to go to. The drinks range from 10 to 13 dollars (ish) which is a bit much, but you are paying for quality as they take special care in making each and every drink. Not really a place to have a full meal, but the small bites and appetizers are tasty. Again, a little pricey, but if you want a good strong drink in a thematic little place (law firm themed, grown up sophisticates, not many rowdy hipsters) you should try this place. Love this bar! It's a chill environment compared to most rowdy bars in downtown riverside. It's very hip and there's definitely no ratchets here. The drinks are very good and although they are a bit pricey, they are well worth the price. I LOVE this place. My DTR home away from home. Craft cocktails at its finest. I am never disappointed when I come here. Drinks are made with extra love & care each time. Bartenders are very knowledgeable, of course. If you're not sure on what to drink, just give them a liquor base and watch them work their magic. I'm a whiskey drinker so my favorites are; old fashioned (of course), conference, American Trilogy and Rye Manhattan. These drinks are a man's drink and pack a punch so order with caution. Oh and try the Mother of Dragons or a Bribe the Scribe. If your really feeling adventurous try a Pacific Rim shot, it tastes like sushi. I know, I know. It's different but a great drink none the less. Food here is great as well. Currently my faves are the bolognese (think of it like spaghetti) and the bread sticks. These will save you a trip for food later in the night. Stop by on a Tuesday and it's Tiki Tuesday. Menu changes for drinks and food. Take my word for it; drink a Walker and have an order of the shrimp tacos. You'll love it. Menu changes every couple of seasons so stop by often to try new stuff out. read more

This is a relatively new "hot spot" in downtown riverside. It's a little more secluded for me than I am use to, but to be honest its much more worth it. The music got me right away, it's a mixture of all good things and set the atmosphere for the night. All the same, the space itself was aesthetically pleasing! It supposed to look like an old school law office or something turned bar, definitely loved that. Now to the drinks. Seemed a little pricey for what a regularly go for, but the bartenders are freakin artists! I didn't try anything on the little menu they gave me and just had regular old mojitos, but then the bartender started to bring us crazy concoctions I hadn't seen/tasted or even heard of and they were all great! One of them was this creamy drink that tasted like aqua fresca with a kick or something. Too good. Too, too good. I genuinely want to love this place, but my experiences leaves wanting a tad more for the money. They have a tapa/small plates, nothing to really eat here. When I asked why don't they have bigger or better selection I was told that the owner owns the salted pig and they don't want to compete with their own restaurant/bar. Some of the appetizers were good but their carpaccio was disgusting, it look really gross, I immediately requested for it to removed. Carpaccio shouldn't be pale in color. Cute bar in downtown riverside. They have different happy hour drinks every week so it's always a delight whenever I come here and try something new. The bartenders and the manager are all very friendly and entertaining. They have nice cushioned seats and the atmosphere is cool and welcoming. I've only tried their kettle corn which were absolutely delicious. A good mix of sweet and salty. The Dark and Stormy is a delicious drink for those who like something sweet with a little spice to it (there's ginger syrup in there I think). Not too hard to find. I went to this place for good drinks. What I got was drinks that were strong but not what I would call "good". Mostly, I was expecting our drinks to be sweet(er) based on the description and was instead given drinks which were bitter and hard to get down. Not a good value for $11 a piece. The Salted Pig and the President's Lounge at the Mission Inn have much more palatable drinks...stuff which is actually tasty AND will get you buzzed in a hurry. Also, a few other lost points: the water they brought us? The cups tasted faintly of soap and bleach, like they had just barely been washed and not rinsed well. And the service was slow. I wanted to like this place---the ambiance is good and the drink menu LOOKS good. But at the end of the day, when you go to a bar you expect the drinks to be good and theirs were not. My friends had a zombie apacolypse and it was to die for, and they limit only 2 per person because of the high alcohol content. They have a great selection of whiskeys and scotchs as well.
