Because of so she yanks your hands and will even cut your cuticles as she drills. Nail tech has been seen being verbally combative with even their management team when they try to step in because of how mean she is to customers. If they are unable to reason with her there is not much of a chance of accountability whatsoever. Came here specifically based on another review and the quality of work shown in the photos. It's a very nice salon! I showed Cherry my inspo photo and she was super helpful in finding the right color. I originally had dip powder but after Cherry described the other services I decided to get the color powder set. It was super informative and helpful! Super happy with the shape, thickness and color. My biggest complaint would have to be the cost for the services, more specifically the design. I just do not believe the design is a $40 design. Additionally, there is no technique to the application of the overlay (you can see no apex, making the nail look less natural). Some minor flooding of the clear coat at the cuticle and some acrylic under the nail. read more

I sat in the car for a minute looking for other places and reading reviews. I finally decided to go inside and give it a try myself. I was greeted by the receptionist who was very pleasant and immediately seated me. I could see there were no more techs available, but she found someone to service me. After waiting a few minutes, she arrived again to remind me she did not want me waiting and she choose a gentleman to service me. ( I had on a dress and the receptionist allowed me to choose a man or women to service my request). NICK was absolutely amazing. He made sure I was satisfied whenever he was doing anything. He took his time and catered to all of my needs. He cut my toenails perfect with asking if it was the correct length as he cut each one. You talk about details he was the ULTIMATE person to suit my needs. I was so impressed I requested him to continue my service with a Manicure as well. My manicure was sooo good and relaxing. I was giving this spot a second chance and I regretted so many times. Had to wait 30 minutes, they rushed I didn't even get a chance to ask for water my pedicure was 10 minutes long. Now the quality? My photos definitely speak about it. This was such an annoying experience!! Not relaxing at all! Multiple people were complaining and at first I felt sorry for the workers but then I was like, how is this place open?? The worst part is that the girl knew they looked bad and didn't say anything!!!! The light in there is terrible so I couldn't tell. I did ask her to re-do two fingers. Still came out horrible. (FYI, this is a lengthy review my apologies ) I've been coming to VuVuzela for at least a 3 and a half months now and so far I have been pleased with my pedi and acrylic nails. But on 12/18/2021 all that changed. When I decided to to refresh my nails for the Christmas celebrations I would be attending coming up the next week. I arrived early and I waited about 30 min until they opened. Trish was the tech who did my nails that morning. She was cordial and friendly she proceeded to do my nails when she was finished I was pleased with the service, I paid and went home. But here's my problem, the oddest thing happened after arriving home. Later, that same day around 6pm I was just talking to family and I placed my hand on my hip and I heard a snap! My left index acrylic fingernail split in half! The next day I proceeded to Vuvuzela was greeted and I asked for Trish since she was the one who did my nails on the day before. She was working on another customer and I was seated in chair next to Trish. After a few minutes Trish stopped working on customer and attended to my issue with my nail, Trish was still friendly and cordial but Trish did not remove the entire nail and start over, No, she didn't even attempt to put nail glue to mend the break at the tip of my nail (which by the way can become weakened if not enough acrylic was applied) , she put acrylic only on the split part of the nail and set my uv light?.. I stated Trish my mail is still "bendy" I showed her by touching the tip of mail and it was just as loose as before, she reassured me that once the acrylic hardened the nail will be ok. Once she was finished everything "looked" ok but the nail still felt weird but went on with my day. By the third day the same nail had split in the same place! And also my left pinky nail split at the tip, I was beyond disgusted! I wanted to go back but recalling how she handled me the last time and how her technique did not work, it would probably further infuriate me and besides that, this time both nails were in pain due to the breaks so I didn't want anyone touching them. The picture I will upload is what my hands look like day2 after going back in to get index finger repaired. After that, everything went down hill from there the index finger on my right hand eventually broke at the tip as well. So I eventually had to cut them all down( it hadn't been a week yet). I wanted to do something nice for myself, since I was doing something nice for others for Christmas and unfortunately, I had stubby ugly nails for the Christmas gatherings I attended. I'm wondering should I just scrap it all and never return. But One bad decision from an irresponsible tech doesn't necessarily mean they are all that way, right? Since, Up until now I really like the customer service and how attentive they are. But the jury is still out...I just had to get this out because I am very pissed and disappointed read more

I've been coming here for about 6 years. It's always a hit or miss with my nails. I recently went and spent almost $100 on a pedicure.. not even a week later I noticed nail polish all over my toe. There was a huge bubble of wet shellac nail polish that had popped and leaked. Before this I hadn't gone in over a month because they gave me green fungus on my big toe. I've had so many negative experiences and I never leave happy and they are soooo overpriced for no reason. I stopped getting my nails done there a while back bc a simple French tip acrylic nail & pedicure was $170 and they didn't even do a good job. I always try to give the benefit of the doubt but I'm over it. I've given so many chances and the price is going up but quality is going down. I gave this place a shot since it's so close to where I work. I came in waiting a mani pedi. They had multiple guests getting them simultaneously, so I thought that would be the case for me. An hour into my pedicure they still hadn't started my manicure. I needed to leave by a certain time so I told them to nix the pedicure when they finally asked about it. I wanted to get shellac but they nail tech cut my big toe so I wasn't sure if I still should because my skin was bleeding and burning. I tried to ask for compensation or at least advise on what I should do. Two nail techs were listening and neither had advise. So I told them just to paint my toes regular. After my toes were painted I was asked again about the manicure I originally request and again I told them no. She then put cotton on my big toe WITH the still wet paint. I don't like to cause a scene so I let all of this slide. I just wanted to share my experience. I probably will still give it another try since it is a convenient location, but I had higher hopes them, and I still don't understand why I couldn't get a simultaneous mani pedi. read more

Came in for a shellac mani and peppermint pedi. Phoenix did my mani. I did a beautiful bright pink as I was headed to the beach for the weekend. It has faded in less than 24 hrs to photos posted. Obviously not OPI as promised. In the photos you can see barely on the edges - the pink it started with was a bright pretty color. While giving the massage part she pounded on my forearm so hard I jerked back and told her loudly that hurt. Caught me totally off guard and I am shocked I don't have a bruise. Pedi - I don't know his name. But he called me honey about 500 times and it was extremely annoying and offensive. I like my toenails very short and he cut them with cuticle nippers. He refused to go as short as I wanted saying I wouldn't like it. I keep them very short as I wear a lot of flats and they grow super fast. I get pedis once a month. Also - it took him FOREVER to do my pedi. The topcoat is not shiny and took hours to dry fully. They must be using cheap products. I've never had this happen to a shellac or had the topcoat dry to dull and take hours to dry. I will never go here again - it's close to work so I wanted to try it. !!!Do yourself a favor and DO NOT go here!!! I came to this nail salon because it was close to my job. The one I usually go to is 30 min away and I got off at 5:30. I didn't want to be that person that comes in when they're about to close so I decided to go to the one that's closest to my job. She left them bulky and filled with bubbles. I HATED them. I lasted a week and a half until I finally decided to go to the place I usually go to. When my tech took off the ugly I got from this nails salon set he asked what happened to my nail!? Of course I freaked out and said nothing but then he showed me! There was a hole on my nail that was forming! Never has this happened to me! I am 27 years old and I get my nails done pretty often. Like I said NEVER has this happened to me! Because of the hole I can not get powder, gel, or dip. I can only do regular polish. My nail has to grow out in order for me to continue with dip. Please do not go to this place. On the other hand ...The lady who actually did my nails was rushing and didn't want to do her job, she was literally just reshaping my nails and painting shellac over it bc I came from a previous place that did my nails and I didn't like them so as she was reshaping them there was clearly some nails that lifted and she was going to just paint shellac over them with out re filling it and I asked her to re fill the parts that needed it she was annoyed and snapped at me and asked if I wanted to refill them all and I expect you as a nail tech to be able to tell if a mail should be re filled or not. Don't just be lazy and paint over a lifted nail. Also she didn't paint my shellac evenly .. she didn't get the dust off my nails before applying the shellac so they are lumpy looking and the clear coat is uneven and has holes. My friend was gettin her nails done by Katie and she was awesome she made me laugh and she took her time and did great on my friends nails. I decided I was done when the last time I was here; my father-in-law got a major cut on his toe during his pedicure and my acrylic nails didn't last longer than two weeks. I took a 6 month break and decided to come back with my daughter today. The service we received was very slow, we sat in our chairs for over 35 minutes past our appointment time waiting for technicians to take care of us. It felt like we were nickeled and dimed. We ended up spending way too much money for two pedicures, and one manicure. Everything is "à la cart" be aware. Extra for a design, extra for removal of acrylic, nails, extra for removal of shellac, extra, extra, extra... Very frustrating when you never really know how much it's gonna cost in the end. I've been to this place a few times and I'm always disappointed afterwards. I like to give places a few chances before I make up my mind about it, and this last visit was it for me. The staff is always great, but my nails never look right. This last visit for example, I asked for a marble pattern on one of my nails, and it doesn't look like marble at all. It took her three times to get this close. I also asked for an almond shape, and she had no idea what that was. It's a pretty basic shape all techs should know. The edges don't look even, she cut up my skin, and left some residue on my fingers that feel like super glue. I have had different people each time, and each person always makes the same mistakes. I just can't justify spending $60+ here for services I've gotten way better at other places. read more
