When I walked in, the store was bright and clean, which I couldn't tell from the outside. It's very meticulously kept (including the restroom) and just makes you feel you're in good hands. Vincenzo started working on my hair right away and he was very thorough to make sure no strands left under-treated. He also worked fast so I was out less than in 90 min. I had blonde streaks in my hair and needed my roots done and when the owner of the salon was done with my hair my blonde was completely gone and I now have dark brown hair. Vinchenzo the owner is an artist. He's a sculptor. You can go in with overgrown hair. He stands kind of leaning in and starts cutting a beautiful shape out of the clear blue. Super happy with my experience here. I found this place off of a website recommended by a functional medicine doctor who recommends women be mindful of the harsh chemicals they put on their hair/scalp year after year because it can accumulate over time and cause health issues later that aren't going to be good for us. So this one was the closest to me and I walked in and was lucky that the owner had a canceled appointment and was able to take me on the spot. Vin did my highlights and he just is an expert at what he does. He works like an artist. Not only did he know exactly what to do to make me look good but he did it the fastest anyone has ever worked on me (2.5 hours including blow drying my hair!! Super fast work). His prices were VERY reasonable. The other places whose salon does not use organic products shared the same or more. This was a no-brainer for me. The salon didn't smell bad at all. I had no eye irritation, headache or dizziness like I have at other salons in the past. It's 25 miles from my house but I think I will be making the drive out there for my future hair needs because it's worth it. The other staff were super friendly and kind. Very nice and comfortable salon. Love that they are open late (another plus other salons don't have). I'm sending my mom to him because she's super high maintenance but I think she will be happy with her hair if she let's Vin do his thing. I received a gift certificate from my daughter to get a pedicure and foot massage from Tammy . It was a gift for my 74th birthday. I have received 100's if pedicures over the last 4 decades. I love pedicures . But we are in the middle of a pandemic and I was afraid to venture out to even purchase food. I saw people giving pedicures outside by Colorado Blvd in Pasadena. It was too hot to be outside . The air quality was unhealthy for an immune compromised person like myself. Yet I trusted my daughter. So I went to Tammy. The salon is open by appointment only . When it comes to getting a haircut, I've never been happier with the results. Every time I walk into the place it feels like I'm there to see a good friend or family that you actually like. Everyone always greets me and with a genuinely warm smile. They'll ask me how I've been and tell me they're happy to see me. Which is so nice considering I'm there for Vincenzo, but that just speaks to the vibe and culture of the place. In Vincenzo's fashion, he'll say "Fratello!" and give me hug. Then we talk about our lives and get to business. There are few things I care about when it comes to my looks and hair is at the top of the list. When I sit in the chair I have a strong sense of confidence that I'm going to walk out of there with my hair exactly the way I want it. The man is seriously gifted and has a way with scissors that I've never seen from anyone else. I've yet to be disappointed and I seriously doubt I ever will. I am absolutely stunned by what Vincenzo did with my hair. He is nothing short of a miracle worker, a testament to his highest-quality expertise, sheer talent, and genuine caring about his clients' situations and outcomes. Like millions during the pandemic, high stress apparently led to a strange thinning (which never would have occurred to me, had my doctor not explained). It felt dead, dry, brittle and bad, unlike the hair I used to have; I thought I'd never get that hair back. Vincenzo listened to what I was aiming for - long layers - and began his magic. Not sure why their Yelp page says they're closed, but I was just here last Saturday. The salon is, however, at a new location about two blocks east of the address listed here, so that probably should be updated because I ended up at the old location before figuring out they had moved. I had plans to go out last weekend and wasn't feeling up to washing or styling my own hair, so I tried to find the cheapest Groupon for a blowout. Vincenzo and his staff were extremely friendly, but their customer service is all I can really compliment from my experience at VP Salon Organic. My blowout was very basic and I didn't feel as fabulous as I usually do when I get my hair done. I was at the salon for almost two hours and walked out regretting the money and time I wasted when I would have probably been happier doing my own hair. I honestly can't even imagine anyone paying the full price of what they normally charge for a blowout. I've never experienced such horrible customer service in my life. I had called earlier to schedule an appointment since I was in the Pasadena area, and they didn't answer (phone only rung twice before going to voicemail). I left a voicemail to schedule a blowout and gave the times that I was available. I got a prompt call back, which I was happy about, but the woman on the other line answered with "Hi, I'm calling back from the salon". Uh, ok? I wasn't expecting a flowery, upbeat gal, but come on - at least an idea of who is calling would be helpful. That was strike one. She told me she could see me in 30 mins, which was way too soon for me to make it on time, so I told her an hour would be better. She sounded a bit annoyed, but she scheduled me for that time anyway. I get to the shop and park, a little over two minutes past my appointment time. Two minutes. I walk in, the girl at the front looks at me and tells me that she can't take me because I'm late. Trust me, I understand what it means to be prompt, but really? "You have a lot of hair, I won't have time and I have another customer coming in soon". She proceeds to ask me if I was a "Groupon customer" and if so, she DEFINITELY couldn't take me because there are "other customers paying actual full price" and are clearly worth more of her time than I am. At this point I'm speechless, and I believe she understood exactly what she just did, because she quickly says "but let me see if I can get you in for now..". I was worried at first with all of the references to Vincenzo being an artist- I thought.. great- he's uptight. I was WRONG! What a great place! Everyone who works here is so friendly and they really pay attention to details. Vincenzo is amazing and he reminds me of a sculptor when he cuts, but not in a off-putting way.
