We ate here for the first time last night. We had a reservation and were seated promptly. The host was very nice and had a great sense of humor. Our waiter was attentive and quite good but we did have a bit of a hard time understanding him. Wine list was excellent and we enjoyed a couple bottles with our party. My husband and I ordered a Caesar salad to split. It was a little skimpy for $12 compared to other fine dining restaurants in the area. We were disappointed that there were no shrimp dishes on the menu. I had the whole fish grilled- it was red snapper and was done perfectly. I thought my side was going to be green peas but black eyed peas actually came with it. I wasn't a fan. My husband had grouper and it came with cram corn and heirloom tomatoes. He shared the tomatoes with me and they were delicious. The cream corn was more of corn sauce than creamed corn but tasty. So why not 5 stars? We felt the menu was a bit limited and once we paid we were completely ignored by wait staff. When you have to get up and get your own water - that's frustrating. We felt fine sitting and visiting a while because there were plenty of open tables. So the food was fine but I just don't feel compelled to make a return visit read more

We were very pleasantly surprised as we weren't sure what to expect from a restaurant inside our hotel. We had steaks which were cooked a perfect medium rare and topped with scallops. Dessert was the dark chocolate truffle cake. Rich and delicious!!!! Our server was knowledgeable and full of personality. She went the extra mile to make sure our dinner was everything we wanted it to be. We had a great time and will definitely go there again. read more

For the past ten years, we have celebrated our wedding anniversary, including the 50th with 30 guests, at this wonderful restaurant. This year for our 56th anniversary we could not go because of the virus quarantine. However, the Voyagers furnished us with a fabulous take out dinner including lobster, a great steak cooked just right, a bottle of chilled wine, all the trimmings and a great chocolate dessert. We know they went a little above and beyond normal take out during this time so we will never forget this special dinner. We can't wait to get back to one of those tables overlooking the beach and the great meals with super service. read more

Voyagers is located in the Perdido Beach Resort which is about the best place in the entire area to spend some time. Unless you are staying at a luxury condo. I have been enjoying the Resort and Voyagers for a couple of decades now. Voyagers is a white linen restaurant and the only restaurant in Orange Beach that I wear a jacket to go to dinner. Not required but it is a classy place. The cuisine is always good and the service is attentive and never overbearing. It is a place to dine and to view the beautiful Gulf at dusk. At night you really don't see the water so make reservations prior to sunset. Eddie Soto is the maitre d' and he makes every visit enjoyable and you are thinking of your next opportunity to dine at Voyagers as you leave. read more

We had a lucky find in Voyagers. It's a restaurant in a hotel and strangely you have to walk thru a lower end restaurant to get to the entrance. We were very early, perhaps the first customers of the day. We ordered a Ribeye and a Fillet. The ribeye was a bit fatty, but very tasty. I liked the pepper seasoning. The GF had the fillet and said it was Awesome. She also had a glass or two of a Riesling wine that was "super yummy." It was expensive at about $60 per person, but I expected that when we selected it. Put it on your list for a special night. read more

The atmosphere was very nice. The service was outstanding. Franz was very attentive, but never felt like he was hovering. He knew the menu and made some great recommendations. Both the gulf grouper and the frutte di mare were great. Great desserts. Overall just a great dining experience. We will be returning. read more

My husband and I were told that this place was the best fine dining in the area.....Giving credit where it is due.....the place had just under gone a very nice renovation ..... aesthetically it is a beautiful restaurant! We went on 2/21/15 to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We were seated on time for our 7pm reservation at a nice 2 spot table by the window. Water glasses were filled right away.....waitress came and introduced herself and took our drink order. at 7:17pm we are still waiting for our drinks.....a Crown Royal on the rocks and a glass of Sauvignon Blanc......I excuse myself to the ladies room and stop by the Maitre'd desk and inquire if our waitress went home and if he could possible check to see where she went.....7:22 I am back at the table and the Crown Royal is there but not the wine......7:35 the Maitre'd shows up with a glass of Sauvignon Blanc and proceed to tell me "it may be a bit warm" but I have brought you some ice and the bottle is on ice now and should be cold soon.....REALLY??? Who serves their guests at a fine dining restaurant WARM WHITE WINE?? Then the menus arrive.....we order......and the salad arrives.....I am noticing we are the only table in view with out bread......so I flag down the waitress and ask and she says"Oh well yes you should have bread" And some one brings it about 5 minutes later......the entree arrives and my salmon is cold in the middle......not what I would call a great entree.......so I am thinking.......well the dessert has to be good right?? I noticed a 5 layer coconut cake on the menu earlier.......when the waitress returned to take our dessert selection she informed us that they only had 2 desserts tonight.....both ice cream desserts......needless to say......we asked for the check and left........and will never return.......we have dined all over the world and this is by far one of the WORST dining experiences we have ever had. Wow, this place was unexpectedly wonderful. It is located in the Perdido Beach Resort...restaurants in coastal hotels are hit-or-miss. This was a hit. The view was incredible - palm trees framing the ocean and an amazing sunset. The food was incredible. Not the standard fried food found at every other restaurant in OBA/GS, and honestly - the prices weren't over-the-top, especially in a setting I truly consider to be fine dining (a popular tourist trap likes to charge $18 for a fried shrimp salad with bottled dressing - we would rather spend $28 for freshly caught grilled snapper). I'm allergic to just about everything, and our waitress could tell that I was a little sad about the dessert menu...so the chef delivered chocolate covered strawberries for me! Little touches like that elevate the experience and really mean a lot. It was just so kind. We will most certainly be back! read more

On top of that to watch people come in baseball hats and t-shirts maybe I'm old fashioned but isn't there a dress code anymore? Normally I am rather even tempered and well mannered when it comes to doing reviews. However in this case to heck with it. The so called manager of this "fine dining" establishment is a grade a jerk. He refused to provide the amenities as promised in the package my family purchased and was a rude arrogant son of a biscuit eater about it. How he can hold a job in the hospitality business is beyond me. Don't patronize thi place, at least until they can run off some of the deadwood. read more

Hoping for more. My boyfriend and I were excited to try Voyagers out, left disappointed. Our requested window seat wasn't available. Two waiters bickered over our table and ultimately led to very poor service, waited over an hour for meals, and my medium rare filet was cooked to medium bordering medium well. After the long wait, we elected to not send it back. My boyfriend also had to wait 45min for a glass of wine. The fried goat cheese was good and were the salads. Ultimately, not worth the price, even with groupon deal. read more

We stayed at another condo down a couple miles from the Perdido Beach Resort and Voyagers. Decided to come here for a special date night dinner during our trip. Upon arrival the valet was prompt and friendly. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated and has panoramic views of the beach. There was a pianist playing at the perfect volume. All the staff were very friendly and professional, obviously trained and take pride in their service. Our server Cristina was delightful: she was very professional, attentive, and funny. Great wine reccomendation. We started with the Caesar and Wedge salads and some bread. Delicious and complex flavors from a salad. We each ordered different cuts of steak, a filley and a tenderloin. Cooked and seasoned perfectly, no sauces or anything needed whatsoever. One of the best steaks I have ever had, and again it was expertly reccomended by Cristina after she asked a few questions to see what I like. The sides were great...highly reccomend the blue mac. Best mac and cheese I have ever had. Blue cheese and bacon in anything is a righteous combination! Finally, dessert. The 9 layer chocolate cake, a chocolate lovers dream. So good. Also ordered the "perfect pair" which is a vanilla bean creme brulee with a molten chocolate filled croissant. Everything home made in house. Finished with some complimentary chocolate dipped strawberrys. Every course was amazing, everything was great. One of the top 3 best dinners I have experienced and very thankful to have had such a great time. Look forward to vacationing here again just to come back to Voyagers. read more

Excellent upscale restaurant....the food, the service the ambiance and the view all were outstanding, but that comes at an elevated price. But it is worth it for those special occasions. Ours was our anniversary and we decided to go there as opposed to one of the many good but not great restaurants in Gulf Shores or Orange Beach. I had the Osso Bucco and it was fantastic. My wife had the bacon wrapped stuffed chicken and it was excellent as well. If you get there before 6PM they have a large list of wines that are 50% off of the bottle price. We will always use this restaurant for all special occasions when we are in this area! read more

One of the worst meals I've ever had in this price range. I ordered Pollo Boursin. There was not a hint of Boursin. The sides were different than what was printed in the menu and I would have ordered something different given the choice. The gnocchi was extremely salty and completely inedible. Normally I don't send food back, but I just couldn't eat it. The server said the "chef" said this is how they come from the supplier. For $25-35 per entrée, one would hope to have chef prepared food...not frozen. The chicken was charred to a leather consistency. The only nice thing about it was the servers. Wasn't sure what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised! I took my daughter here for dinner and we had a fantastic meal. The butternut squash bisque was rich and delicious. The tomato, grilled peach and buratta salad was very good - would have only been improved by a bit more balsamic dressing. The filet was cooked perfectly and came out sizzling on a very hot plate with melted butter! And the stuffed chicken entree was probably some of the best chicken i've ever eaten. Can't beat anything wrapped in bacon! and the purple sweet potato gnocchi was great. We shared a vanilla creme brûlée with a chocolate filled pastry. Had to make one last stop to eat before heading home. Marvin is truly an amazing server and would recommend him to anyone. Either if you are in voyagers or latitude 30 he is the server to have. I can't believe the transformation that this place has gone through! The wine cooler that stretches from floor to ceiling is impressive and classy. The service was flawless from start to finish, every single bite of everything we ordered was perfection. Well balanced flavors throughout and perfect wine pairings to go along with it all. I didn't know this restaurant existed until a coworker wouldn't stop talking about the date her and her husband had just gone on, so I came to check it out with a friend of mine. Forget traditional fare, this menu is unique, even if it sounds familiar. I had broiled red snapper and it came out perfectly cooked and a little spicy and slightly blackened. I loved it, but I was curious to see if I had been served blackened instead. I was told no, I had not, that blackened was spicier and more blackened. The chef trained in New Orleans and had a Spanish heritage so he believed in spicier, more colorful food. Case in point, I also had creamed spinach, and it also was delicious, but served in a most unique and surprising fashion. It was more of a soup consistency and had roasted red peppers, shallots, and get this, lump crab meat! Talk about outstanding! My wife had the grouper and raved about it as well. There is a lot of competition in the fine dining category but Voyagers has managed to stand out. The view of the ocean is an added bonus. read more

The oysters Rockefeller were great, the spinach side was great, however the steaks were not. I ordered the ribeye medium rare, internal color was good, consistent with med rare, however the steak was tough. The outside was very firm, steak was a bit difficult to cut and chew. This restaurant is LIFE CHANGING. We are from Atlanta and dine out a lot...the chef here is INCREDIBLE and everything was on point. The atmosphere and colors are exquisite, the service exceptional and the food is unbelievable. I had the Lobster Tail and sweet potato gnocchi and my husband had the rib eye... for an appetizer we had the fried green tomato stack which was the best we've ever had. Dessert was a trio of creme brulee flavors. Words cannot really describe this place...you just have to experience it. To top it off, we found the pricing very reasonable especially for a tourist town. Finally it's important to note that tons of locals frequent this restaurant for a reason, as they know the neighborhood gems first hand. Don't visit Gulf Shores without visiting this restaurant, period. read more

This was my first time dining at Voyagers. We had to find the entrance through the cafeteria which was odd but once we entered the layout is very polish-chic. The view of the water is beautiful! Our server Rico suggested the filet of beef and it did not disappoint! His recommendations and knowledge of wine was very helpful. Wish our experience had been as delightful as some of the other reviewers, unfortunately it wasn't. Husband had the grouper, which was dry and veges tasted like there was a bunch of old bay dumped on them and were over cooked. My paella was too spicy, I picked out the seafood, had a couple of bites of the rice, downed a glass of water and left the rest. The atmosphere with the background music was nice. For years Voyagers Perdido Beach Resort has been our go-to destination for special occasion dinners. Until now we have never been disappointed. On the positive side our scallop appetizer was terrific. My husband had the Kansas City strip steak and I had the bone-in filet mignon both of those were outstanding absolutely top-notch. Unfortunately nothing else was up to the normal standard that we expected from voyager's. Our salad was listed on the menu as a caesar salad however whatever they brought us was an interesting salad however it was definitely not a classic Caesar salad and included sunny side up eggs from a quail which it's really not something either of us would have ordered had we known in advance. When we mentioned to the server that this was not a traditional Caesar salad we were surprised to basically be challenged that we didn't know what a Caesar salad should be. In general our server was not very attentive or interested in what we had to say, she repeatedly spoke over my husband as he was placing our order and really did not seem to be acquainted with steps of service. The sides we were served were also not what we expected. My husband ordered a rice side but what he was served was more like a Spicy Thai risotto. I ordered a regular baked potato however when I requested butter for the potato I was stunned to have the server deliver the little plastic packets of butter with the foil topper like you would get at an IHOP .... not what you would expect at a high-end restaurant. To end the meal we ordered the creme brulee expecting creme brulee. What we were served was some sort of a chocolate concoction that was not creme brulee. To her credit the server did take that particular item off of our bill as we each only had one bite and decided that was not to our liking. The wine list used to be top notch unfortunately that was not what we experienced on this visit the server did not seem to have any knowledge of the wine list and had no suggestions for pairings. Overall the demeanor of the wait staff was entirely different than what we had experienced on previous visits. We will probably give voyager's one more try but if it mirrors the experience we had tonight I would say we probably won't return. At the price point we paid we expected a fine dining experience we got something closer to a chain steak house but with a $200+ price tag. The only nod to the former charm and elegance of the place is exhibited by Eddy the Maitre D. Hope to see a return to the experience we loved for so long. read more

Food was amazing, no complaints about that nor the server we had. However, this was not the experience expected from a fine dining restaurant. We had a late reservation, which they accepted with no issues... halfway through our appetizers, we became the only people left in the restaurant. Mid dinner, they began VACUUMING the floors around us. For an $800 dinner, I expected way more from them. The bartender was complaining about our drink orders (said our server) and his coworkers were upset about us being the last table. We didn't linger around after our dessert. We up and left after our bill was paid. Not to mention, a friend of ours got up from the table to use the restroom... on her way back she was taken by an unusually strange manager or something through the kitchen by the arm. She pleaded with him not to take her in there and an employee just looked at her and mouthed "I'm so sorry" she was very uncomfortable. Not acceptable. read more

This was one of the best restaurants ever. We ordered the oysters and they came with an amazing house sauce. The lobster bisque was to die for, and the steak and lobster was amazing!
