Okay, so Vons is pricier than most grocery stores I like to shop at. With that said, their produce is ALWAYS quality. If I get an avocado from Vons, I don't need to worry that it's going to be rotten or underripe--it will be perfectly ripe. If I get strawberries or blueberries, they won't have fuzzy nasties hiding underneath them somewhere waiting for me when I open the container at home. If you have a Vons card, it's even more worth it to shop here. Plus, they have some specialty items that I can't find in my other staple grocery stores. You get what you pay for. read more

For example I went in tonight at 7:30pm nobody in the store, 7 people in line, one checker. The additional checker says he can't open another line. WHY ? So I went in this morning to purchase many cookies, danishes etc for clients. I went to check out and prices were not honored! After ringing out I noticed, then told the cashier and asked her to check it. Once the call came back she was told it was the higher price, so I was just going to leave. As I was walking out the door Debbie, was walking towards me , she just happened to be the manager of the bakery. I told her that the price check was not correct, and she agreed and said here is the sakes price ( in her hand) and was Walking to the cash register to make the correction. I had already paid, I was already mad and I was already leaving and never to come back. Debbie saw this in my face and immediately offered to do whatever she could to make me happy. It was amazing customer service , she is an amazing manager, and SHE saved a customer for life! I hope the manager of the store reads this because she should be the manager of the store because clearly pricing issues are a problem this is not my first time in that location!!!! So every time I go here they always get my order wrong since I do pick up. But on the night of 4/24/22 I went in to pick up my order. People seemed like they where bothered to even help me. There was a guy he was the rudest. When we were picking up the groceries he pulled the cart away from my mom and my mom was leaning on it. She almost lost her balance. I've lived in temecula almost a year now, sadly close to this vons so it ends up being a matter of time and convenience that my wife makes me come here. Not ONE in any of my visits has this location has more than two check stands open. No self service options either. Really? What store this day and age doesn't have a self checkout line? I am currently staying ding half way down an Isle because vons chooses to understaffed their store...or simply not care about their customers time. No the checkers fault - I blame the choices of managers and corp. If this is the company policy: "let them wait" then screw this company! Again, I'm standing in line because my wife sent me here. Otherwise I'd drive across town to winco and still be home sooner WOW! And to top it off, the checker swipes a "3's a crowd" discount for the guy in front of me...but n9 discount for me. This Vons is huge, and it was super clean and seemed to have everything you could want from a food store. The prices were fair, which is typical Vons, moderately priced. I did not do any deep shopping, so I can't comment on the freshness of the produce, meats, or bakery. That said, this Vons passed the eye test, big and clean! By far, the worst Von's I've ever visited. I will share one of the many stories I could tell. It is my hope that this cautionary tale will help you avoid a similar experience. On check out I went to use the card swipe machine and noticed a hand written sign saying "No cash back." I had actually hoped to get $20 so I wouldn't have to make a second stop later. I'd seen similar signs at this location on a number of occasion. By that I mean I've seen it about 75% of the time I've been to the store. I was a bit annoyed but not overly so. I casually mentioned to the cashier, who's badge read "Supervisor" that I had seen that sign a lot. I suggested that she mention it to the manager and see if they couldn't increase the size of the cash till to avoid the situation in the future. She immediately became argumentative and said "There's an ATM right over there. That's what they're for." I was a little shocked at the rudeness but I calmly replied that the ATM wasn't my bank and I'd have to pay a fee. She continued to argue saying that the till size was corporate policy. That ATM's are where you get cash. That it's not her problem. Finally I said, "All I'm asking is that you kick the suggestion up the chain of command." Her response, "Use the ATM." Now you know and I know there's a dozen better ways she could have handled this. She could have tapped another register, she could have fetched more cash from the safe, she could simply have sympathized with my issues and assured me that she'd bring it to the attention of management. Instead she prompted one of the worst reviews I've ever written, not to mention what has to be one of the most horrid survey responses they've ever seen. This grocery is horrible. This store sells expired items. I came today to exchange two items that I bought when lockdown started. The lady at customer service would not take them back or exchange them because I didn't have the receipt. I don't keep every single receipt. Other stores can look up transactions via your debit/credit card to verify purchases. Not Vons. Sold me expired foods and refuse to make it right. SMH read more

I love this place! It's so clean yet extremely cold and dark... They're always fully in-stock with a great food selection but it's a little on the pricey side (but it is Temecula after all). Today I shopped at the Vons on Rancho California at Temecula and I've got a let you know there was a young man coughing all through the isles. He was accompanied by who I believe was his mom. He was wearing a face cover but he did not look well. I just want to let you know so that you can take precautions. Wear your face covering and keep 6 feet apart. Some of the workers were not wearing a face cover either. What is up with the employees here?!? What an incompetent group of people! I asked two girls in the deli where salsa was, and neither of them were able to answer me. Luckily, there was another customer who knew where it was. Pretty sad when the customers know the store better than the employees. At checkout, there were two registers open, and one of them broke. To their credit, the cashiers did call for more checkers. However, these individuals were just as terrible. One checker couldn't figure out how to ring up wine, and then yelled at the customer behind me for trying to help! Thank goodness I don't live on this side of town. Vons is great, you can get some sweet deals with their free membership, which can save you on gas at some places. I see many rate this place low because of the wait to check out, but I've never waited more than five minutes. Lousy customer service. I'm forced to go in a pinch because they are the closest grocery to my house, but... the have a huge sign stating the will open another register if there are more than 4 people in line. I've spent more time in line than actually shopping, this last time I just set my basket down and walked out. NEVER have I seen them open more than 2 registers even when asked. Understaffed and overpriced, and WOW what a crap meat selection with no butcher! I'll take the trip to Ralph's or Stater Bros instead... hell, I'd even shop at Food for Less before Vons! read more

A smidgen nicer than your basic grocery store, as it's more like Pavilions (my favorite). We swung by to grab wine, but ended up buying ingredients and supplies to make dinner instead of going out to eat (there aren't very many options in Temecula). The flow of everything is perfect, as everything we needed was found easily across three aisles back-to-back. The staff is pretty on point with cleaning up spills; someone spilled a liquid (I think Coca-Cola) all over, creating a huge mess, but it was cleaned up quickly. Only complaint is that it's not open 24 hours or open late. For emergencies, you'll have to to go the CVS in the same plaza. read more

This place SUCKS! I'm here on a Monday night at 8pm and there are 10 people in line with one checker. Vons is too expensive and has the crappiest customer service of any of the chain grocery stores. I NEVER do my regular shopping here. Much rather go to Winco. Better prices and selection and it doesn't take 20 minutes to check out. Safeway needs to make some changes for sure. They really need to overhaul this store...it has been here forever so it is not up to date and many other groceries in the area... They are always short staffed and there is always only 1 register open and forget trying to find a manager ... Items are wrongly priced and/or do not ring up properly and it will be easier to just put the item back then wait for an override... This is by far my favorite grocery store. I've been shopping here for 18 years and the staff in this store is so helpful. Von's has nailed customer service, I have never encountered anything but excellent customer service. They appreciate my business and it shows. I literally live one block from an Albertson's but drive a mile to this location. This location doesn't have the most updated renovations as the Sky Terrace location does but the parking is ample, the hours are good for my schedule, and the produce, bakery, and meats are very fresh. read more

This store would be just average, even if it had decent employees. It has only a few good employees. Most of the time they talk to each other and ignore the customers. One of the managers, Sandy, is the worst manager I have ever had to deal with. I hope you don't have any issues while you're at this store because she will treat you like a juvenile delinquent and you will walk out without resolution and slightly abused. She is so rude, for no other reason than she doesn't want to deal with your problem. After being treated like a bothersome sore I said I might try Albertson's next time. This rating is for the bakery department: for my daughters birthday I requested for red borders plain white color with red dots (Minnie Mouse theme) two layer cake. When I arrived to pick it up, they had the box cake slightly open, I barely glanced at it. I Looked at the top, the sides and it all looked good, I even complemented the baker. I go to pay for the cake (register in the front) and the cashier accidentally put his finger thru the cake. Anyway..I left the store, put the cake in a safe place, and drove home carefully. I removed the box and pull the cake out. I then was able fully look at the cake .Wow, really, Seriously! the cake for one has a finger mark on it. The dots were all different sizes and falling and melting off the cake, the entire cake itself was sliding off. Inside was chocolate and I could see the dark color under the frosting . The cake was terrible! Although it did taste really good. The whole cake was melting and falling apart right In front of my entire guest. "Happy Birthday" to me, means growing another age wiser. Learning from your mistakes and becoming wiser each year and to see all of your family, that you have not seen in a long time, there just because of you, because they love you. Presents don't mean anything to me, and this year I did not want anything except for my family and my favorite type of cake that only Vons make. I was getting ready upstairs for my 4 day trip to Catalina Island when my father came home and I asked him why it took an extremely long time to pick up the cake he ordered. He told me the service was lousy because there was no one working the section and that he had to go to the front to have them call them, and they still didn't show up. When someone finally did show up, they did not present the cake to my father, he only payed and left. My father opened the large pink box, paused......... and said, "I'm sorry." I was confused why he said he was sorry until he took the cake out of the box. There in front of me was the UGLIEST cake I have ever seen, let alone the UGLIEST BIRTHDAY CAKE that was supposed to be for me! This was my birthday cake!!!!!! The ugliest birthday cake I have ever had!!! I was so horrified, I had to go to the bathroom because I broke down in tears and I did not want to upset my father anymore. Just because one person does not care about their job in any form,or way, does not give them the right to DESTROY another persons special day!!!!!! During this entire letter, I have cried nonstop, so thank you for your present of red tearful eyes, for the rest of my birthday, and I hope no one destroys your birthday, like your company has done to me! P.S. The cake ordered was supposed to be a marble cake, even says so on the slip, but was a solid chocolate. This location seriously lacks customer service. They rarely have more than one check-out lane open in the morning, when most people are in a rush to get to work. Their staff block the aisles to restock or collect for deliveries. I have been there multiple times when the staff is just hangs out chatting. The corporate office really needs to review this location, grumpy employees, lack of management and prices seem to being going up. Other than being close, this store lacks what we look for in a positive shopping experience. Update: I changed my review from 2 stars to 1. Horrible customer service, I will go up the street to Aldi for basics that I need quickly. read more
