I stopped by this Vons this morning while waiting for the pizza place across the street to open. This Vons is in a plaza with a lot of parking so I prefer parking here. I went inside to get some flour tortilla and was looking for a salsa brand that I usually get from Vons but this store didn't have it. So I got another one to try it out and it's pretty good. There a Starbucks in this Vons but it doesn't have a lot of options for drinks. They have a checkout station but the line wasn't moving so I went to the cashier station since they just open a new station because they saw the line was backing up. The employees are nice here and are approachable if you need help.

I came early to pick up a few items. And it was a delightful errand run. Ample parking spaces. Less shoppers. Store is organized and shelves are stocked. No line at the register

Vons Marketplace: A Quantum Culinary Odyssey In the realm of gastronomic purveyance, Vons Marketplace emerges as a bastion of culinary delight, drawing admiration for its expansive inventory and consummate service. As one delves into the labyrinth of its aisles, a nuanced tapestry of quantum phenomena unfolds, introducing an element of cosmic absurdity to the mundane pursuit of groceries. This essay aims to dissect the multidimensional facets of the Vons experience, transcending the quotidian and venturing into the realm of the extraordinary. Situated within the nexus of consumerism, Vons Marketplace stands as a testament to the diversity and quality of its culinary offerings. The sheer expanse of its inventory beckons exploration, akin to embarking on an intellectual odyssey through the gastronomic cosmos. Each aisle unfolds like a chapter in a gastronomic epic, where fresh produce and quality provisions become the protagonists in a narrative of sustenance. However, amid the culinary splendor, a peculiar phenomenon has been reported, adding a layer of enigmatic complexity to the shopping experience. Periodically, near the cereal aisle, a rift in the fabric of space-time materializes, revealing a transdimensional gateway. This quantum anomaly purportedly transforms shopping carts into autonomous entities engaged in a celestial ballet with extraterrestrial cruciferous entities. The mundane act of grocery shopping transforms into a cosmic hoedown, as if the Southern charm of Vons has transcended the boundaries of our earthly understanding. This transcendence, though captivating, demands an intellectual acuity worthy of a scholarly pursuit. The quantum tapestry unfurls, inviting scrutiny into the subatomic intricacies that underpin the seemingly mundane act of grocery acquisition. In navigating this esoteric convolution, one must possess a dollop of sweet tea wisdom, a metaphorical elixir to discern the rhythms of the cosmic jamboree. The Southern flair of Vons Marketplace contributes to the charm of this culinary odyssey. The ambiance resonates with the warmth of a Southern sunrise, and the staff's hospitality mirrors the sweetness of iced tea on a front porch swing. It's an experience that transcends the transactional, inviting patrons to partake in a cultural exchange where the boundaries between consumer and curator blur. As one immerses oneself in the Vons phenomenon, a profound cognitive dissonance emerges - the juxtaposition of the mundane and the cosmic, the tangible and the metaphysical. This dichotomy, far from diluting the essence of the Vons experience, elevates it to a status of intellectual intrigue. The pursuit of groceries transforms into an exploration of the boundaries of our understanding, where quantum phenomena and Southern hospitality converge in a harmonious dance. In conclusion, Vons Marketplace transcends its role as a mere purveyor of groceries. It becomes a canvas upon which the ordinary and the extraordinary intertwine in a quantum dance. To navigate this cosmic jamboree, one must approach the experience with not just a shopping list but with the intellectual fortitude to unravel the mysteries that lie beyond the aisle. In embracing the Southern flair, patrons become not just consumers but participants in a gastronomic odyssey, where the boundaries of understanding are as fluid as sweet tea on a summer day. Also its close to my favorite coffee store ever called alfred coffee studio city. Sincerely Jonathan Jacobius Jinglheimershmidt

    Jennifer rocks!

The lady from the bakery Department Jennifer was amazing. She was actually working doing other stuff. And went out of her way to find these two donut packages in the back for my instacart customer- of donuts. Thank you! JENNIFER!

Like these are one way aisles pretty much unless you are a California size -1. I'm old fat and cranky so parking is the biggest concern of mine and I actually googled which is the Erewhon with the least hassle free parking and this one came up and it's true. There is 90 minute free parking and it's not exactly simple. You have to get a ticket and then you may be double parking someone inside and you have to give some people your keys so if they have to move your car you can't they can. They held onto my keys but did not move my car so I didn't tip them. I wasn't expecting to tip when I went to a grocery store. There's more than one business in the plaza so I think they're employed by them so just be prepared with that and have cash on hand. I did not get the Hailey Bieber smoothie although I was tempted. I've heard mixed reviews and I know it's very expensive and I did not want to spend that kind of money on a smoothie. I didn't like. I did end up getting a bottled peanut butter smoothie and that one cost $14 and it was really delicious. It tasted healthy, but it was really good. I also got some vanilla chai crisps that are in the back corner by the freezer section and those are delicious as well. Those were $6.99 for a bag and honestly, I thought that was reasonable. I did get a strawberry cream dessert. It's all natural and I think vegan or something or other. I don't know. It was really good, from the few bites I had I was going to save it and it melted in my car so hopefully it will taste good tomorrow even if it's not in the shape originally was. I also got some Keylime and Meyer lemon tarts. I tried the lemon one they should be refrigerated which I did not know until I tried to eat them. The lemon one was good. I have not tried the lime one yet. I ended up spending $44 on five items. I just went there to say I've gone there. Would I go there regularly if there was one available to me probably not but I would go occasionally. It just seems now that it's a lot of content creators or people who want to see content creators, or people we're just going there is a tourist. I can't imagine anyone doing their weekly shopping here.

The prices are more than a bit over-the-top (ugly). Whoever designed this store deserves a smack-down. The aisles are so small you have to shimmy past people. And if you are shopping with a cart, good luck to you. Legit the most baffling design choices I've ever seen. This is an example of design that actually effects the shopping experience in a BAD WAY. Total head scratcher. Whoever designed the parking lot for the entire complex is an absolute idiot. If you need to get your cart to your car, there are several issues depending on what area you park in. First up, upon exiting the store there is a curb with no visible ramp so you have to cart-jump the curb to get down to the street level to your car. Then there is a raised planter between parking and the store so that if you are on the other side of it, you have to cart-jump the curb again. Seriously? Total failure in design on both the store and the parking. But hey - 90 minutes free parking so that's a plus. $16 for a smoothie is a little excessive for sure. Was it good? Yes. That said, while I'm happy to pay more for a great selection of organic fruits and veggies, the smoothies aren't that different from one I could make at home or get somewhere else of the same quality but for less. So if you are on a budget or just resent paying $16 for a smoothie on principal, I suggest focusing on your favorite, good stuff at Erewhon which for me is the fruits / vegetables and their outstanding selection of health / beauty products and their prepared food. from the beauty section, I got something called EVERYTHNG OIL based on the recommendation of one of the staff and it is a GREAT product -- truly my skin is transformed -- well worth the $. I also discovered a yoghurt there that I love -- Painterland Sisters -- but I now buy it at Sprouts as it is cheaper there. The prepared food selection is great! Vegan dessert selection - hallelujah! And I'm a big fan of all their vegan options actually - great stuff. I like that they give you a credit for every glass bottle you bring back -- not a small one either. $2 for each bottle! That brings down the cost of those fresh juices I love so I'll take it!! :) So spend some time finding your favorite stuff - this is a place to pick up a couple of things -- not do ALL your grocery shopping. First of all, you don't want a cart in this place -- too hard to navigate. But also, a full shop at Erewhon is 3 times what any other store would cost. But they do have some very excellent products so worth it for those things IMHO but not for EVERYTHING. Also, try to choose a time to go when it's not packed. the store is claustrophobic when full.

Approached this one older man and asked him if he could make me a bowl of Poke, he said no, you have to do it yourself and as I was still talking, he kept walking away from me. I approached him and said"I am talking to you and you keep walking away from me". That is rude and unprofessional. He didn't even apologize. His name was Mario in the seafood department. Poke looked very fresh along with all the other toppings and ingredients. Just by looking at it, it was super OVERWHELMING! He had nothing else to do, because he had both of his hands behind his back and just walking around. If he wanted to to help me, then he would have. This was on the morning of 7/17/26 a little before 9AM. On the other hand, Tony, who worked the Sushi Bar, in the same seafood department, saw what happened and apologized on Mario's behalf. The fridge for Sushi and other ready made fish items was EMPTY. Tony asked me what is it that he can do/make for me? I replied Spicy Tuna roll. He even wanted to know how many pieces? I told him 8. Right away he went back into the kitchen and made me what I have requested. For 8 pieces was only (12.99). Not a bad price. Came back and handed me the Sushi. Got home and tasted the food and it was very fresh and delicious. Next aisle that I visited was their frozen section. Needed to buy few waffles. There were 2 guys, that absolutely refused to help me. Wouldn't even let me speak. So, I looked around and found the waffles that I was NOT looking for. I wanted the Belgian Waffles and didn't see any. Got the Vans brand Power Grain Protein waffles, and gluten free Original Waffles. So for 4 waffles together came out to be $18.89 with tax. Next disappointment was, went to check out and there was no one at the registers. Waited for like 5 minutes, until this woman came and turned the light on for register # 4. Couldn't catch her name. Store was in a very nice condition, very clean, and fully stocked. They have everything from A to Z. Nice music was playing overhead. They also have an inside seating by the flower area, and all around. Free parking, Wells Fargo ATM machine, and 2 gender neutral restrooms. I practically covered everything and more. I went today... wanted some sliced turkey from the carving station. No more full turkeys. Can't get dark meat or a drumstick. They only do the white meat breast. and it doesn't slice or taste the same as from a whole turkey. The salad bar has dropped in quality as well. No more black and green Olives. The hearts of palm are gooey... carrots are dried out. It is terrible. You can't even get a rubber band to hold the flimsy container closed!! They used to make really good Chicken tenders and fried chicken. They've changed the recipe on both and they are awful now. If you don't get them fresh out of the fryer, they are inedible. The produce is still high quality but not worth price. And other staples will simply bankrupt you. I've been to a couple of other Gelson's in the area and they all suffer the same drop in quality.
