This review is for the bakery. Completely disappointed in the presentation. I understand that there might be slight variations from placing orders online, such as ordering bright pink icing but received light pink icing instead. But the picture didn't even fit the correct size of the cake and it wasn't even centered. The picture wasn't even flat. It had creases and bubbles. It's really unacceptable to decorate a cake like this. I really didn't have any other choice but take the cake as is. Multiple people abandoning their sales because of the inconvenience of the checkout system. Self-checkout line adding no relief. The line is winding into the aisles. I don't usually write reviews, but my experience with Yazmin at the Vons checkout absolutely deserves one. From the moment I walked up to her register, she greeted me with the kindest smile the kind that makes you feel instantly comfortable and taken care of even after a long day. She made small talk and asked me about my day which sometimes we need that from a stranger I had a pretty full cart, including a few items I needed for a last minute family dinner I was hosting that evening. Of course I realized too late that I'd grabbed the wrong type of chicken broth, and the aisle was halfway across the store. Before I could even say anything, Yazmin noticed my hesitation and asked if everything was okay. When I explained, she didn't just point me in the right direction she personally called for assistance and when no one was immediately available she jogged over herself to grab the correct item. She came back in less than a minute, still smiling. On top of that, she noticed that a couple of my produce stickers had rubbed off during bagging. Instead of holding up the line, she quickly entered the codes from memory something I've never seen a cashier do that fast. She was patient, upbeat, and treated every customer after me with the same energy. What really stood out, though, was that as she finished bagging my groceries (organized so nicely, by the way) she reminded me about a digital coupon she noticed I hadn't clipped. She took an extra moment to help me pull it up on the app and saved me almost $15 on my total. Now in days It's rare to find someone who genuinely cares about doing their job with this much pride and kindness. Yazmin went far above and beyond and Vons is lucky to have her. I left the store in a better mood than I came in and that says everything. If you ever find yourself at this Vons, do yourself a favor and go to Yazmin's lane. She truly makes the everyday grocery trip feel like exceptional customer service. read more

I really love this vons location. It is clean and organized. One day I came in and was being over charged in the self checkout for produce. I informed the cashier that it was incorrect and displayed a different price when I picked it out. She had me walk her back to see the pricing and says I was right, so she matched that price for me. I visited our local Vons to purchase a few items and requested $40 cash back earlier this morning. During the transaction, the cashier appeared distracted, focused on her phone, and preoccupied with her electronic device. She initially handed me only one item and insisted I hadn't purchased an avocado until I showed her my receipt as proof. I then politely inquired about the $40 cash back I had requested. She denied it until I presented the receipt. She said, "I'm sorry," and abruptly tossed the money toward me. read more

Vons bakery amazing! I've ordered cakes from them 3 different times and they have yet to disappoint. I've given them the ideas I had and told them the stuff I wanted forsure on the cake and they delivered all the time. I wish I could afford the fancy nice cakes at smaller bakeries where they go all out and probably end up paying over 100 on the cake. But if you don't have that luxury then vons is the way to go! I've paid less than 70$ everytime I've gotten one (all different sizes). The baker Xóchitl has been amazing. She's done two of the 3 we've gotten and by far great work. Vons Bakery in Montebello!! They did a fabulous job on my cake. It was a Hawaiian theme and they got it spot on!! From the cake decorator - who did outstanding to the store assistant Jose who called me on the morning to make sure everything was going to be great! An employee named George in the bakery section seen me struggling to find the correct one he then approached me recommending me different cakes they had. George was very kind and helpful he even offered to put "Happy Birthday" on the cake that i chose and offered some nice accessories to put on the cake after. I called in feb 20th, 2024 for a carrot cake .When I called Adam answered the phone said he didnt have the ingredients to make a carrot cake and it was only him today so for to call tomorrow . The bakery at Vons has been my 'go-to' for a few years now. Although, I honestly can not speak about every baker; but I can not stop talking about Xochitle (I hope I spelled her name correctly). I call her Xochi (pronounced: so-chee). She's incredible. She's an ARTIST, and that's an understatement. My daughter was having a baby shower, and she wanted cupcakes with FLOWERS. I shared photos of the flower arrangements with Xochitle, and Xochitle made cupcakes with the EXACT same flowers!!! These cupcakes were the talk of the party. The manager was gracious and explained the difference in cost due to the time it took to make these beautiful cupcakes, but took care of it anyway. In these times, finding people who are not only highly qualified but also kind and generous is refreshing and promising. Thank you, Xochitle. Was in a terrific hurry but needed to stop for some sparkling water.This place is so huge it can be intimidating. Where's the water? An employee named Monica approached me and pointed out Aisle 8. We love this Vons because it's near, it's nice, it's well stocked, and the deals are always available. But last time -- we had the J4U coupon for General Mills 8.9-12oz for 99 cents. So we got the 12oz Cheerios but we were charged regular price. Apparently the store only marked the 99 cents coupon available for the 8.9oz size only, even though the digital coupon says 8.9-12oz. Honestly the staffs were all very nice and it was all fixed within less than 10 minutes, so quick. But we hated holding the line especially for 99 cents. Very rude cashier at closing time. She was in a hurry to go home, but had a long time for check out. We still had plenty of time to check out and she was yelling across the store that they were closed. I replied with no you're not. The store is still very much open. Then she proceeded to say, "You need to be considerate." I replied, "with I'm here buying flowers for a family member who just passed. So please mind your manners. Besides, if you don't like people coming into the store don't work retail. " And that should be taught to employees that work retail. If you don't want to work until passed 11PM then don't work the night shift. We all make decisions and she made the decision to work evening retail hours. It is a standard vons grocery store. It is large in size with an average stock. The prices are not the best but also not the worst. This Vons store is a friendly neighborhood supermarket . I have been shopping here since 2009. I have never experienced any negative pushback from the employees . The store is very organized and very clean . As you enter the parking lot to the interior of the store , You will never see any chaos or mess. The Vons is very well Stocked with fresh items. The Hazelnut Coffee Creamer by Lucerne is a must to purchase. The cashier Monica Mota is a very nice lady . She is friendly and helpful. On most visits to the Vons in Montebello the customer service is fine but today it was terrible. The cashier was rude and unprofessional. The name on her badge was Josie, I was surprised to see that her badge indicated she was a supervisor. She dropped some of our items on the ground because she was literally throwing the items onto the counter. I started packing our groceries as they were piling up. She did not care if the items were cans, bread, etc. I asked her to stop throwing the items. She did not respond. This was very disappointing to encounter someone so rude and unprofessional and to find out she is part of your management team...terrible.
