They always have great deals, but once it comes to checking out , all the cashiers do is talk to each other and it's very aggravating because they will stop scanning and finish a conversation that isn't work related. Food 4 Less has always been a convenient place for me to stop and pick up some groceries. They are reasonably priced. They have good produce choices and are their own company brands. Located in the same plaza as Target. It was easy to find parking. The store is big and well-organized. It's a lot cleaner than the other one that I have been to. Some things are a little pricey but there are good deals. The only thing I dislike are the design of the carts! They're too high and the front part seems to easy to hit the leg. read more

I recently went to Food 4 Less in pico Rivera on Whittier Boulevard I frequently shopped there but not anymore. I purchased hot chicken, wings and other products when I got home I did not eat my chicken for the first four hours that day I had went to the eye doctor, so my eyes were blurredwhen I did open the container which was not a box. It was a bowl with a lid on it and taped shit when I opened it, I thought I saw something moving and things started flying out, and I put the lid on it immediately and I thought something still wrong with my eyes but no When I looked inside, there were at least 10 flies. Yes flies. I couldn't believe my eyes. I immediately put the lid back on to get back to the store the next day the manager there was very rude. Did refund my money but did not say I'm sorry what can I do for you? He refunded my money and walked away without a word very rude. Very unprofessional. I will never be shopping there again my whole purpose of this is to please be careful. I have never experienced that many flies in one container. How could that be possible but I promise you I am not exaggerating. I posted the warning and I got backlash terrible saying I was a dirty person. I left everything open. I am an older person. I did not do that. I know in my heart, I did not do that. I look for the rating of the store. There is no rating on the outside of that store. I thought all stores had to have a food rating But the older I get the more I learn so the moral of my story is please please be careful what you buy for you could become very ill thank God I did not eat it. Food always seems to be spoiled in this location. Also there is only 2 cashiers working later at night causing big lines.

Every time I come here, there is an issue. Produce is not stocked, some shelves are empty, there's laundry detergent all over the floor, waiting 5 minutes for the cashier because no one is at the register, there's no cooked chicken available, they're not advertising the sale on shrimp, and there are more issues. Literally every time I come here there is an issue. Just last week, I came here for their chicken sale: 99 cents a pound for drumsticks. I went and ALL their chicken drumsticks had the wrong price. I double checked the Food4Less app, and it confirmed they are 99 cents. I had to bug the butcher to change the price. Then it happened again, today. I went to take advantage their chicken wing sale: $2.79 a pound. A majority of their chicken wings had the price of $3.99. I had to bug the butcher again this time just to fix their mistakes. Food4Less does have some great sales, but this location is the worst. From now on, I'm going drive a little more and go to the one down Norwalk Blvd. read more

In the meat department they advertise their ribeye steak as "Prime" beef. This is a big lie. Their steak is not even "Choice". It is the cheapest "Select". (There is a big difference). The butcher behind the counter told me most people will not know the difference. This is false advertising and they should be sued for it. Came in to buy a tiramisu cake. Ask the baker if he could write happy birthday on the cake. The baker quickly stopped what he was doing and quickly accommodated my request. Awesome service. They have a carniceria (meat dept) with helpful guys working there. They also have a deli but I'll be honest, all I ever get from there are cakes or the rotisserie chickens for a quick dinner which are super juicy for Around 5 bucks. The cashiers are always friendly and greet you when they ring you up. Avoid the beginning of the month when everyone is trying to max out their EBT cards...lines could be brutal. read more

Just left the store without purchasing any of the products in my basket. As I approached the cashier, she turned and left the register. After a few minutes, I sought assistance from the manager who said he would talk to her. Did not see the cashier until I was leaving the store with my grandson. Had spent about 30 minutes in the place searching for the items I wanted to purchase. As I was moving my cart through the aisle to get my grandson out of the cart, a security person standing near attempted to block my departure! This after she was involved in pointing out to me who the manager was. She appeared to be trying to detain or impede my departure for some reason. I shop this store a lot and was appalled by this behavior from the cashier and from the security person. Unacceptable. read more

Store #8620 Pico Rivera, California. I went shopping at this store last Friday 08/20/2021 and saw a female employee wearing her mask under her chin. I approached her and asked her to place her mask correctly. She in turn started to give me a sarcastic remark, suddenly she stopped and said have a nice day then walked away. She never placed the mask correct on her face. I asked to speak with the manager, I informed him of the conversation. He responded that he will look at the cameras. He didn't take my word for it. I understand that COVID is a difficult time for everyone and mostly everyone is doing their best. However, I am certain that this Food4Less in particular falls short of that. On 11.11.2020 @ 9:30 pm I purchased a set of baby feeders that indicated 6+ months on the label and read $5.99. Before opening them I read the back label for sanitizing purposes and found out it the feeders were not intended for babies with teeth. On 11/13.2020-I went back to exchange them and found out I was as overcharged for the item and apparently they were not taking any returns or exchanges unless the meat was rotten. I spoke to the manager and explained that all I wanted was an exchange with my receipt and asked that signs should be posted at the entrance and exit so that customers could make wiser decisions on purchases. He proceeded to say that they were posted all over. I went ahead and look at the entrance/exits and registers and nothing! The only sign posted is a 8x11 regular letter sized sign by the customer service booth. What upset me the most is that the manager stated the he could not do anything since it was a store policy. Really store policy? Then it should have been printed on the receipt as other grocery/stores are doing. Coincidentally, Target next door, had no problem exchanging a similar (baby teether) for another baby item and still gave me back the difference. When I don't want to go to far from home or just need to grab a few items I'll come here. Prices are good, produce is cheap but not always the best quality. The store is always kept clean. I always see employees out stocking produce or walking around. My cousin likes to come here because there is a coin star machine Inside located by the Registers. You dump all your coins in there and it will print out a ticket of the amount you put in. Take the ticket to the register and they will cash you out. Only down down side is the machine keeps 8 cents per dollar you put it. But it's quick and convenient. read more

I went shopping on 6/12/20 i suffer from depression anxiety and panic attacks because of my lupus..I was told a puppy would help and give me emotional support..I have come to this food 4less store for years and when I rescued the puppy I continued coming to the market with no incident until yesterday 6/12 very rude a manager or assistant manager told me no emotional support dogs aloud my dog barked at him..this has been going on for years and years everyone tends to turn their face on people with depression instead of helping..oh one more thing I will get the name of the manager or worker who technically kicked me out because food 4less doesn't doesn't support dogs who help with emotional support read more

Shocked as shhhhs# here, this grocery store was clean, organized, check-outs weren't painful or long, quality is fresh, prices are good, (meats competitive w/Ralphs, Staters & Albertsons more than the latin supermarkets) but I must say I had more than one visit here & always amazed on how good the experience was, considering (sadly) Food4Less markets, are equivalent to Walmarts, as far as the people that shop there :(, but this one surprises me that its mostly hard working families (like all of us).....and I live near the one in Whittier by where I grew up and its gotten so bad (you'd think it was "mother's day" every day...geesh), yet I drive the distance to Pico for better everything.... & the one in Santa Fe Springs (South Whittier) is nicer since it got remodeled too, but same class of people ruin the experience....such as life aye??? read more

Food 4 Less is one Supermarkets located close to my home. But as of late I don't think I will be shopping there anymore. The prices and selections are good but they have a major problem with people asking for money outside the store and in the parking lot. A woman was robbed in the parking lot the other day during daylight hours. Today my wife was in the store and a man came up to her asking her if she was going to pay with cash and if he could have money. She was afraid that he was going to follower her out to the parking lot. Sorry Food 4 Less I like your store but not worth putting my families safety in jeopardy. read more

THE GOOD: Items are on sale weekly, and some of those can be a great deal. As of lately, the deals have not been found by me in their circular ads. (The printed papers of what is on sale. These are not literally "circular" in shape.) They usually have an abundance of the item that is on sale. Very rarely have I had to ask for some sort of a raincheck for the sale item. For the most part, the employees have been good. No attitudes, nor pushiness. They have been pleasant to deal with. One of them was actually very upbeat as I joked with her for having asked to see my I.D. when purchasing some eggs with my credit card. I said, "Oh, yeah... wouldn't want to be that criminal running up an evil charge on this poor guy's credit card by buying a dozen eggs, you know?" And after seeing my I.D., her comeback was pretty good: "Well, I know where you live now." Made me laugh, and slightly worry, all at the same time. (I thought to myself as I left the place: "Did she really memorize my address?") THE BAD: There needs to be some better organization and collection of clearance items. There could be some simple, good deals, but they are torn to the point of not being able to buy it at all. Added to that, they are often mixed up. You'll find the item that got you attention on one shelf, then a dozen more at the very bottom, toward the back. (Sounds petty on my part, I know.) THE UGLY: Outside the store is a dangerous spot. There is a STOP sign close to the store's exit/entrance that is often overlooked by drivers as they go through. Too many times I have come out with my cart, and a car fails to stop properly, or at all. (I'm sure if the cart were to roll out by accident, these cars would be damaged to some degree or another. But, if it happens to be a person walking, or a child in the cart... BAM!!! Major accident. Potential for a major law suit for the driver, for certain, and possibly for Food 4 Less, in some capacity, I would think. TO THE MANAGEMENT: Good job with the store; I do enjoy shopping there when there are deals to be had. I would ask that there be some consideration about the shopping cart retrieval; send them out in twos. There could be the reduction of a potential problem arising if you simply sent to people out, and not just one. Safety in numbers, is the saying. Also, please schedule time for people to walk around the store to update some prices on items, or re-evaluate the price tags, along with checking to make sure their are no little kids running around the store wreaking havoc. Lastly, I would add cameras positioned to the stop sign mentioned above. This would help catch a culprit who happens to flee the scene if an accident were to happen. read more
