You really have to check what they actually charge you. Tag on the broom set said $4.99. Cashier looked at the price tag on the broom, said it $5.99 without hesitation, and was ready to charge me. I pointed out the $4.99 and she said "yeah, but it's $5.99." She told a worker to go check the price who confirmed the same $4.99 price on the other brooms sets. Not going to go into detail about cashier's haughty attitude, but please take this as a warning for whoever shops there, even if you love this place, to check that you're rung up for the correct amount as listed on the price tag and not more. read more

Today I'm giving this store only one star today, why? you may ask, due to the lack of emphatic She (the cashier) has with customers, she wants to be right on everything, and likes to argues with the people on line, they have open boxes all over the aisles and she's (the cashier) blaming customers that get stuff from boxes to take home... so today 04/25/2024 she was asking a lady customer at around 11:20am if she was gonna pay with credit or debit, the paying lady said, with apple pay please and the cashier asked her again, with credit of debit, the customer said again with Apple Pay!, So I guess the cashier had enough and said ok but it's that credit or debit cause I cannot take credit, (then I'm here waiting in line being a nosy and thinking, why in the big hell you're asking the lady if credit or debit then?!) so the lady customer very patiently said, I am paying with Apple Pay, anyhow both of them (credit or debit goes) to the same account credit takes at least 3 days and debit right away, (and I know this is true but I guess it all depends on your bank also) the cashier since she's always wants to be right she said in a very very RUDE VOICE, NO it's not that's why I am asking, what are you using??? credit or debit, cause we don't take no credit transactions, this machine we have here and she pointed at the little POS the have and mention it doesn't take credit, And the lady said one more time, I'm paying with Apple Pay but the cashier sounded already like that she was in a shitty attitude, like that way before this customer. Anyhow, maybe the cashier was in a bad mood already and didn't wanted to work this day, but she should've think about how (the lady that was trying to pay) on how she felt when the cashier talked to her like that. This cashier lady needs to be train on how to be more empathetic to customers and how to relax whenever shes about to lose it. Ohhh and before I forget, the cashier had the customer bag her own items, when the cashier it's always doing it for the customers. Before I begin the girls that work here are straight up awesome. Every time I've stopped by after hitting the Daiso next store they have always been cheery and very friendly to myself, friends I've brought and my wife. For this I have to say I highly find them refreshing and found the store to be a lot of fun to venture in. My recent visit was a bit disappointing, Ther was an older man probably in his early 40s gave me a dirty look as I approached the counter, and was literally giving the what are you looking at me attitude. I smiled anyways and asked him nicely and told him about how I bought about $180 of random stuff and some toys and one of the toys I bought too many of. I asked him if I could one of them and he raised his voice and said sorry no refunds, we don't make any exceptions. Right after he said this the lady working next to him raised an eye brow (previously helped me in the past) and started arguing with him. I said that's ok don't worry about it I'll keep it, and he starts giving me a death stare while the lady looked like she wanted to say something. I rarely have ever felt racism in a store especially from a Latino... Usually some of the most awesome people. For this I'm pretty disappointed. Q-Bargain is now on my permanent blacklist. I highly do not recommend shopping here if he's around. Alternatives - Daiso, Ross, Marshalls and the 99cent store down the street if you're lucky to get in because the workers didn't randomly close an hour earlier. read more

I use to shop here regularly back 10 years ago & can't believe it's still around and glad for the regular shoppers in community that it's flourished. I miss it and now remember why I loved it so much, it has a ton of hard to find, unique & large variety of items for a bargain. I definitely grabbed as much as I could since I'm hardly out here anymore. It gets crowded or more longer lines later after it opens, but worth the wait. I only deducted a star because it's highly disorganized where people cut in lines - always was in the past but worse w/Covid outlining space & the makeup/beauty stuffs in the aisle leading to cashiers which is a nightmare to go looking as the line of people blocking the aisle. They really should consider getting a bigger space, after the pandemic because they have a lot of loyal customers, ton of merchandise crammed-shoved in tight spaces and it's just a hassle every time unless u go in right after it opens early. read more

Came here to look for random finds because I love dollar stores! It was very very crowded with stuff and loosely organized. There were some good finds in there like cloth cutting scissors for a good price for example. There are kitchen goods, makeup products, and more. Prices are decent as well. The only thing is that there are 2 registers and the line was surprisingly very long. read more

BUYER BEWARE!!! Sadly, I was way OVER CHARGED when I visited this store!! I was charged nearly double what my merchandise was worth. They charged me $41 when my purchase was worth $27! When i made my calculations and went back for a refund, the sales associate and manager did not offer an apology. Terrible customer service. I have a feeling they do this often. The store has pretty good random stuff if it's stocked --- I'll find some neat decoration items and like getting general home items , even for storage. But the times they have boxes and boxes of merchandise just taking up half of the aisles especially on the first aisle to the left, is when it becomes a nuisance to be shopping. No shopping cart Can get through. No point in taking a cart of theirs anymore if you can't even pass by. Lately it's been harder to grab for stuff. Another reason for the low stars is the customer service. The short, older man that works there who is stocking, always seems to have such an unpleasant attitude & even seems bothered by you trying to reach over to get something you need if it's in the area he's restocking---after you climb a box or two lately. Even asking for assistance to grab an item off the top of the shelves, like the storage bins is a mission. Also, not correct that he and the new younger lady working there have a constant flirting battle and are shown being touchy touchy with each other and just having personal convo about the store. Clearly if they are a "couple" of some sort they need to leave that for another time and assist customers Instead of being so obvious. And I noticed the newer ladies working the registers in the evenings aren't as customer friendly either. read more

This place deserves 3 stars for 3 reasons: the store's organization, its huge supply of household goods, and its cheap price. Q Bargain is my mom's favorite 99 cents shop which is why you will always find me here. The place is located near ELAC and very convenient for students to come buy for buying household goods or some cheap snacks. Honestly, I love coming here for their kitchenware. They have a wide selection of cups, plates, bowls, and containers to fit any of your kitchen storage needs. Plus, even though they are a dollar, they will actually last you quite a while. Yesterday, however, I came for different things. While my mom was searching for bowls, I was searching for crafty goods to use for decorating my cube at my office. They sell just about every random thing you'd be thinking of. I was able to buy a box of thumb tacks and wooden clips for $1 each and it would help me decorate most of my cubicle's wall. At first, I found it a little old that they sold perishable goods likes loaves of bread, because I would never think to buy my bread at a bargain store...And to this day, I still haven't ! Ain't worth my money to buy any food that has the potential of giving me a stomach ache, as it has happened to those around me before. Be cautious about that! Haven't interacted much with the workers because the store is fairly small and you could walk around the whole store in less than 5 minutes, so you wouldn't need to go asking for any help unless an item was out of stock. Also, NOTE, although its a 'bargain' store, some items are more expensive than Wal-Mart or Target. Why? I'm not too sure. I found that they sell Carmex(lip balm) near their register and it costs $1.19, while Wal-Mart sells the exact same product for $1.00. Dollar + Why Q Bargain rocks: It's next to Daiso, but most items are 50 cents cheaper. They have awesome Mexican candy. My students LOVE LOVE LOVE the spicy watermelon candy they have here. Their spices are cheap, here. They have a good assortment, and some different stuff compared to Dollar Tree or 99 Cents Only. Also, I got to support the small mom and pop shops. read more

I have been a regular customer here for years and have fortunately never experienced any of the "racism" or embarrassment the other reviews have claimed to felt when in this store. I do agree that this store is messy and disorganized. You can't even access the party supply section for it is covered with boxes of shipment they need to unpack. (It has been like this for months). However the variety and the amount of stuff here is amazing. There is a whole arts and crafts sections with paints, glitters, beads, flowers, stickers, and just so much more that I absolutely love and use for my crafting. If i ever need something fast I know that I can find it right away here. From tools, to jewelry, to pet supplies, to snacks, to school supplies, to even clothes, the variety in this store is huge! This place has pretty interesting things. I like this store but what I don't like is how rude some of the guys are here. There is one guy in particular that has such a rude attitude. He is always walking by with a dolly and merchandise back and forth. He tells you excuse me when he already passed you. He won't move for you, you have to move for him.. the place is very unorganized. It is a messy store. The 2 stars is for some of the cool stuff there lol. I hate to be the voice of dissent in a small lake of glowing 5-star reviews, but my experience with this business was over-the-top bad -- a comedy of errors, but with nothing to laugh about. I'm sharing my experience so that others will be aware. I usually avoid this place because the cashiers always look angry and inconvenienced by your presence-- especially one particular cashier. I wish I knew her name, but she's chubby, probably in her 30s, has bangs, tan, light-colored eyes. I never thought that the day I decide never to go back there again would involve her. With all the 99 Cents stores that there are, who needs to put up with anything less than basic courtesy? I needed to break a 20 and get five singles, so I chose Q Bargain out of my usual CVS because I figured I could use something from here. I spent $10, but sadly forgot to tell the cashier BEFOREHAND if I could get singles. I got two fives back, so I asked the cashier if I can get five singles, and one five. She said said sternly that "We don't got no change [sic]." I said, "But I bet that if I get one more thing for a dollar, you will have singles." I got a ChapStick. When she gave me four back, I marveled, "And the singles magically appeared!" She did NOT only have four singles. She had a whole pack of fresh singles, which I saw, but which I didn't need to see-- I understand and know that for the most part, cashiers try not to give out too much change because they might run out before the day is over, and what then? They'll be stuck trying to find change somewhere. HOWEVER, THIS IS ALSO IMPORTANT TO UNDERSTAND-- cashiers usually do their best to comply with requests for particular denominations (singles, fives, quarters, whatever)-- especially when you just made a purchase. I only requested five singles, not 300 pennies and 20 dimes. Her answer was a staunch "NO," the type you hear from a lowlife who just got his first job as a gatekeeper and doesn't know how to handle so much authority. No explanation other than claiming in severely broken English that she has no change. That was obviously a misrepresentation of the truth. I remained civil, as I always do. I didn't SAY anything, I only demonstrated. There was no need to engage in a petty quarrel and state the obvious, since the action spoke much louder than my words ever could have. The purpose of my ChapStick purchase was to DEMONSTRATE the discrepancy of her words. Everyone behind me saw. That was enough. As for me, I'm never going back there again. read more

I can literally spend half an hour in this store looking at the school supplies. I love it! When I was in high school and middle school, my mom would buy me super cute Lovely White school supplies here. Anyone else remembers Lovely White? Anyways, Q Bargain doesn't only sell school supplies. Think of it as a mini 99 cent store or a Dollar Tree, albeit a Dollar Store with better, nicer, prettier school supplies. I LOVE DOLLAR STORES. This store in particular is amazing. They have $1-$3 clothes. Like official t-shirts from the show "The Office".. some teenage millionaire shirts (like the "Jesus is my Homeboy" shirts that were once popular) They had Carter's baby outfits for $1 each... those were gone in a flash. Lots of school supplies, food, toys, picture frames, kitchen supplies, tools, paint supplies, etc. I got one of those foiled sun visor/screens for $1!!!! Been planning on getting one of those for the longest time so i was ecstatic when I found it for a buck. It's a small one tho... fits perfectly in my little car (scion xa) so it probably wouldn't fit in a normal car -_- They have fake bump-it's for $1 (the as-seen-on-tv hair thing) ... oh man.. list goes on. Today my mother went to this location (about an hour ago) and was harassed by the cashier who rang her up. She was impatient, rude and yelled at my mother. When my mom placed her card in the chip reader, she was screaming at her not to cover her input for her PIN number (which she was doing with her hand) and was very disrespectful. Never had any issues until now. She said she was a younger woman with dark hair. Girl, don't be mad cause you're probably uneducated and still working at a dollar store. Buyer Beware! Q Bargain is NO Bargain! I was a regular customer, but not anymore. When a merchant sells you something that doesn't work as intended, then it should "cheerfully" exchange it for the exact same item that does. Plain and simple. This basic business concept and law is known as the "Implied Warranty of Merchantability". If a store doesn't stand behind what it sells, then it will soon go out-of-business. Repeat business is the life blood of a store and goodwill should be earned. I bought a cheap bicycle headlight [for just a dollar, but that's beside the point] and took it home. After inserting the batteries [that I supplied], it turned on. However, it has a defective switch. It doesn't turn off. That's no good. So, I went back to the store [which is an inconvenience to me] and encountered store personnel that were ignorant of customers' rights. I blame the owner and manager for this. It is their fault that their staff are poorly trained on business law and what good customer service is. A powerless cashier tells me that it is their store policy: No exchanges. No refunds. So, I insisted on speaking with a store manager. [I knew I wasn't going to be speaking with a person with a business degree from an accredited university, but I hoped he or she had at least, some common sense.] The cashier called for the manager, but he refused to come to the front of the store. [Allegedly, he's too busy, on the phone, or unloading inventory.] Apparently dealing with customers is not part of his job. After waiting patiently for too long, I decided to go see the cowardly manager who was hiding in the back aisles. He unapologetically told me the same garbage that it's their store policy, then lied to me that he's on his lunch break, and rudely turned his back to me and walked away to restock shelves. On my way out, I ask another worker a simple question, "Who is the owner of the store?" He replies, "He's not here. I don't know when he'll be back." I informed this employee, "That's not what I asked. I wanted the name of the owner." And, he replied, "John Lee." [Just getting that tidbit of information was a challenge, so I didn't bother to ask him to spell it.] Mr. Lee, do yourself a favor and educate yourself on business law and then train your staff. Your store policy is unenforceable in my situation. I didn't return to your store for a cash refund or to exchange it for something else. All I wanted was to get what I paid for, a product that is not defective. The "Implied Warranty of Merchantability" supersedes or nullifies your policy to deny me an exchange. By way of analogy, I think we have all heard of some other laws, rules, or policies that have been declared "unconstitutional" and therefore voided. But, yet a simple-minded, mom & pa, hole-in-the wall business owner or manager thinks they're above the law and can do as they please. You're wrong! I believe in karma. What comes around, goes around. So, Mr. Lee when you and your staff buy something [like a dozen eggs, but only get 11 or a pair of jeans with a zipper that doesn't unzip or a life-jacket that doesn't float] and feel cheated, don't gripe when someone else copies you and says, "All sales final. Today I bought two packages of cup noodle. I had my hands full of items from shopping from different stores. So I just put down what I was going to buy on top of some costume jewelry display. This display is on the counter where to pay for stuff. She angrily told me not to put stuff on the counter. She didn't have to yell at me. She really embarassed me. This is my go to place to get more bang for my bucks! Almost all their bazic products are .99 compare to nearby .99 who charges 1.49 or 1.99. They carry similar products like the 99 cents only store which is a plus. Bagged grocery for a buck....I mean you have to pick the fresh ones just like any other stores. Cool little store with the basic essentials you might need at home for relatively cheap prices! I wish I could give 0 stars. Every single negative review on here is absolutely on point. Workers do seem angry all the time and are very rude/arrogant. But that is not the worst part. I bought a food item once and when I opened it, he food was spoiled so I took it back. They refused to let me see a manager, refused to give me he measly dollar back and acted like if I was in the wrong. This place has everything you need but they should tell their customers what the policy is for what's the point of a receipt if you can't exchange an item that serves no purpose for me the least you can do is put it in the clearance section.
