As a experience retail worker in a part of my life customer service is my main focus then Cleanliness atmosphere and appearance. That being said I have been to a ALDI in a nearby city and this was my first time at this establishment. The store has the basic signature set up. As we walked in there was security at the entrance okay to that. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Store looked clean and well kept[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Pretty busy I went looking for some soft foods for me. Prices were pretty decent. Found Salmon for a great price looks very fresh also found some dry soups that would be great to make. One of the stocking staff I past was working like a well oiled machine stocking and organizing the shelving. Now understand this market isn't like major chains. They carry off brands that still are as good. I found a lot of good things I would not found at other establishments. Now I could have dropped a star for this situation but the other staff at this establishment were customer service. Noting the time which was around a little before 5 pm. I ask the current cashier for the code for the restroom. I have a lisp because of a dental procedure. I ask her for the code I got "What"? Like what do you need now attitude I repeated it she said oh as if annoyed. She called on the walkie. The next encounter was when I was checking out, like she was on a race to get people out no hello just started scanning and tossing things into the basket. She told me my total and to proceed foe payments. Then she ask my wife something and my wife told her we were together paying separately. As my wife was pulling forward she kind of pulled the basket away from her? My wife was holding on to the basket for support. Then she explained to my with she was going to use the basket for the next customer. Then my wife noticed she didn't give me my receipt. My wife got it for me. I was going to address a manager about it. But I let it fly. The staff, however, are a complete mess. From management down, the vast majority are rude, unfriendly, and condescending. There are maybe one or two exceptions who are actually decent, but overall the attitude is ridiculous. I've had multiple terrible experiences. One cashier charged me twice for a single item; when I pointed it out she rolled her eyes and walked away, leaving me standing there embarrassed until a different (friendly) cashier finally helped me. Another time a cashier aggressively threw a bottle of wine into my cart so hard it broke, then just kept going like nothing happened--even though there was no one behind me in line. She was rushing as if her life depended on it. I've also had a cashier completely melt down because I didn't have my own cart and was bagging from the one next to her register. She started shaking and was nearly in tears because I was "taking too long." I'm done. I now drive all the way to the Downey location instead. I love the fact that it is a smaller location for I am an older disabled person. The food selection. There is very good very fresh. The only thing is they are very limited on the corner of stuff and their advertisement of items is not at every store, I guess because it's a smaller store they don't send The same amount as two bigger stores. The ratings make sense now. I'm a regular ALDI shopper but have never been to this store specifically. It was 8p.m- NOT BUSY AT ALL. I was checked out by Maria who was poorly rude and lazy. A lady infront of me had a papaya and I witnessed Maria throw it on a shopping cart and said "it jumped out" when the lady even told her "don't throw it." Getting that feedback you would think to change it up but that wasn't the case for me. I knew exactly what I was getting into but I was gonna be calm. She begins to scan my items & since I had unloaded everything quickly I was bringing my cart around but she just starts to fill up a different cart. I had my empty boxes ready for them to be placed in there but she was not waiting for anything. She then proceeds to say "go ahead and Insert your card". What if I was paying cash? I said I was gonna wait to see the total and that annoyed her even more because she began to throw everything in more aggressively and even rolled her eyes at me. When it got to the total she clicked the payment so fast that the amount wasn't even on the screen!!!! I decided to stay quiet and simply tap my card. That's when I noticed she threw the eggs on top of the bread. I had so many opportunities to say something but because she seems to carry herself so high with having that attitude no one wants to tell her something. Instead I'm hoping the company will see this and determine for themselves if that's how an Aldi employee should treat others and "bag" their carts. So not happy with our visit, first time here. Stopped by for a few quick items I figured it would be faster than going to my regular market since I was in the area. The store is clean, but customer service needs some work. Rude worker on the floor stocking the shelves, cut me off twice with her cart and left her cart in a angle blocking walkway. There was a line upfront so they called for another cashier- and guess who came up? Yup' you guessed it rude worker. She was putting all the customers purchases in one basket. I spoke up and said that she was putting my purchase with someone else's and she said I put everything in one cart yours is on this side as she pointed. And as the person before me was picking up my blueberries. I was so confused as to how she was putting our purchase in a basket that wasn't ours. We clearly had our own basket I mean that is why they charge you for the basket to be used right? She also charged me for the man's bread behind me as well, the man told her look your doing it wrong that is my bread with her stuff. I love coming here. Prices are great and I can get in and out pretty fast. I admit, first time coming here i complained about having to use a quarter to unlock a cart, but it's fine. It gives customers incentive to actually bring back their carts, lol! The one big complaint I do have though is why can't they clean their bathrooms? Every time I go there it's just gross! I remember the day this store opened, my father and I have been going to this store nearly every week since opening. today marks a sad day for me as my family's experience with Aldi has soured. honestly, never truly witnessed disrespect from a manager towards a customer of this magnitude before. the managers name is Sylvia, and honestly has the worst human interaction skills I have ever seen. (more about my interaction with her later) I went in today because to my surprise, my father said he is never going to shop at Aldi's again. I asked him why and he said he went to return an item and then was denied the return because they don't sell that product. he showed the receipt and she refused to accept the return in a very accusative manner. (today I confirmed with another manager at this same Aldi that they did in fact sell this product but no longer had it in stock and did not sell it anymore.) then she goes the step further to accuse him of pulling the receipt from the trash and trying to gain some advantage by doing so. all this while screaming for the whole store to hear. needless to say he got out and just doesn't want to go back there anymore. Now I trust my father's judgement, but I wanted answers, so today I went in with my mother and we brought the item in question (not to return it, but to be able to find the person who put my father on blast) we met a very nice manager who listened to our concern and our situation. she took the time to hear us out and she immediately knew exactly who we were talking about. she took the item to the register and that is when Sylvia started her little rampage. Immediately started yelling at her own fellow manager that they don't take returns on this item and that she does not accept it. my mother tried to approach Sylvia to talk to her, but Sylvia just exclaimed that she was off the clock and doesn't have to talk to her, but the continues to interact and scream at my mother that she was not there and that my mother does not know how Sylvia was acting that day. the level of aggression and defensiveness from Sylvia is staggering and literally just shows she does not know how to handle stress, accountability or even basic human interaction. I chose not to interject anything because I was taught that we don't engage with children throwing tantrums and with the whole store watching Sylvia's Tantrum, I could not help but feel bad for her. According to the manager we spoke to, Sylvia is THE common denominator for the customer service problems in this location so this is clearly not a first time. I hope Aldi finds a way to convince her to treat other humans better and I hope Sylvia can find a better way to cope with her life stresses. read more

the prices tend to be at a lower cost than at regular grocery store. the sales floor and cashier expirience is always really awful. when asking questions about product they're very unfriendly. The customer customers in line were very impatient since there was only one register running. When another cashier came, the customer infront of me moved to her line and maria who rang me up had the nastiest attitude. she wanted me to insert my card without even scanning everything yet, turns out she double scanned an item and had to do a return because she was trying to move too fast. Today I was having a pleasant conversation with another customer and the chubby brunette / blonde manager out of nowhere asked me to leave the aisle because she had to stock up her area with food so I let her pass by and I was clearly out of her way so I continued with my conversation with the customer but the manager got mad at me so I just left and continued shopping and as I was paying for my food she told the cashier there's a man harassing a women. Normally I love Aldi but not this shopping trip. Cashier Jennifer was very hurried, I had a big order and had a case of water and soda- everytime I come usually get a male cashier. Cashier basically called me a counterfeiter because she didn't know how to properly check whether or not high denomination bills are real or not. Ensuring that currency is real is a part of her job and I respect that. Gotta do what you gotta do. But, she basically embaressed me in front of a packed line of people because she claimed my bills weren't "real" and that she was supposed to confiscate the "fake" money but she was going to do me a "favor" by returning it to me. She literally got me paranoid about the money that I just withdrew from the bank! So much to the point that I went out and got one of those pens that identifies fake money. Guess what? ALL of the "fake" money that she rejected was 100% REAL. Now that I don't need the pen anymore, I will be dropping it off at this Aldi because apparently they don't give their employees the tools to properly do their jobs. read more

Store Manager named Sylvia started yelling and screaming at me and my 11 year old daughter just because I asked a simple question over a bag of grapes she escalated the situation by threatened us and calling the police and having them to arrest us if we wouldnt leave. Also there was another manager barely getting to work and he saw everything and he attempted to defused her from treating us in this malicious manner but she also screamed at him and told him to go inside and clock in and get to work, and not to get involved!! As I was leaving there was another employee trying to make things better and also said shes always on a bad mood, for me just to leave and called customer service!!! Upon leaving the store another customer approached me and started saying do you shop her often and she said she is like that all the time shes always yelling at her employees and customers you should really called customer service and the city of Pico Rivera, which Im going to do!!! But this was confirmed once my wife finished cooking and tasted the blasted thing. She put too much trust in the date in the package. Really rude cashier; I witnessed (a male dark haired) cashier being unbelievably rude to the lady in front of me. I couldn't believe it how obnoxiously insulting he was being towards her. She even asked him if he was okay? I was next, and it seemed like he just wanted to fight? It was the weirdest experience. I will not be shopping at this location again. As compared to their competitors within a few miles. 1) Prices are great Comparison with same amount food I buy Vons $180 Food for Less $130 ALDI $89 2) Very clean and tidy 3) Parking very easy since its where old staples office store used to be. 4) Employees were friendly and attended to customers on time *Pro Tip* bring a quarter to use their shopping carts. I do go to Aldi for little things yesterday I went for more groceries.. the checker was putting my groceries in the cart I had my bags in the cart I was trying to put my items in and he told me I was in his way I told him "I was trying to put my groceries in the bags and Asked him don't you bag if I have my bags? And all he wanted to do was throw my items into the cart so I can do it later myself. He was sitting on his little chair and it upset me because I am paying for groceries the least he could do is put them in the bags if I have the bags. What happened to customer service?? I went in today because the sales flyers in the mail advertise the mangoes at 39 cents. I called the store and check to see if it had a limit, which it did NOT! As I came to the store I check again if the price tag has a limit and nothing on it. As I'm loading up my cart. This lady approach me and told that she couldn't sell me a large quantity of mangoes, I told her that theirs no limit and then she schools me by telling that I can override what's on the advertisement paper. I asked why cant you sell me the mangoes she said, cause That's all she had?? She like, I need some for the night. As I go pay, I asked the cashier if the mangoes had a limit and he tells no. I was so disappointed on how this worker just refuse to not sell me the mangoes. It was my first time visiting shopping at the place.
