Like some of the other 99 Ranch Markets in SoCal, this location has gotten a face lift thanks to Tawa Gateway (I know Hacienda Heights and Rowland Heights also got this modern, minimalist repainting and rebranding). Inside is still the same though, not much updates there. Plenty of parking since this is located in such a huge plaza, so huge in fact that I would rather opt to park here than many of the other plazas within walking distance. So huge that I saw a dude practice basketball here at night without a basketball hoop in sight. Iconic and I hope he's balling out there, wherever he may be. There's security at the front and a good number of cashiers open so despite how crowded it is (at least on a Thursday mid morning), I was checked out quite efficiently. Like many other 99 Ranch, there's a bakery, hot foods area, seafood, butcher, and much more. It's not the cleanest, as I did see some wilted, not the freshest produce and some flies here and there (as well as some of the baked goods looking mushed into bags), but not outwardly awful. The variety isn't as good as I thought it would be, at least in comparison to my home 99 Ranch, but I was able to at least find some giftable chili oil. Been to this location a few times because my friends and I will typically come to Wushiland within the same plaza and hang out. It's been a nice way to snag some groceries when we're finished. There's something about the layout of this store that bothers me a little? But I think it's just the produce section being a little cramped. Great, wide selection of products. This review is for Leticia, i think that's her name ? Hispanic english broken lady. I was having trouble looking for 2 specific ingredients. I didn't ask for help but she noticed that I was struggling in the herbs and vegetables isle. I was trying to find Lemon Grass and Lime Leaves. There was no lemon grass at display.. Leticia was just restocking vegetables and she turned over to offer help and even went out of her way to help me grab them from the back !!!! I left the isle while she was going to the back for them, after 5 mins I didn't she her so i left to grab other things .. She hunted me down!! What a sweet kind helpful lady! Her english wasnt the best but honestly her extraordinary service has made me want to come shop here often. I just went to 99 Ranch Market and I usually really like getting their bento boxes! Super affordable and great service! The attendants check in on you and the ambiance is loud! For price point and quality the food is really good and sometimes they have little giveaways! I wasn't expecting a free gifts, but they gave me this free fish jerky! Shrimp dumplings with chili oil was $4.99! A great appetizer and quick grab and go meal! The Taiwan style BBQ pork bento box was $6.59 and has a variety of different items in the bento box! Packed with rice, there's mustard greens, veggies, half a boiled egg and some tofu! Great find for lunch less than $10! TIP: There's ample parking and there's restrooms in the back near the Seafood portion of 99 Ranch! There's also great stores in this plaza like Daiso and Wushiland Boba! read more

Went the Saturday after Christmas and it was a solid experience. Parking is what it is in this area but even took me less than 5 minutes to find a spot. I went to the fish counter and got two live catfish chopped and fried. And then to the deli and got 2 whole roast duck chopped. Both were delicious and convinced my family they need to go to 99 more often. The service was fast and easy despite some language barriers. Points, smiles, and half sentences got me exactly what I needed. Produce was quality and easy to navigate. Proves reasonable. Again solid experience. If you have never been to an Asian market before I recommend. It won't be overwhelming like some other 99's that I've been to. read more

This Ranch 99 Market is located right across the Hilton on Valley Blvd. I like this market way better than Hawaii Supermarket since the parking lot isn't chaotic, but then again I've never had to use the parking lot since I just have to literally cross the street to get here. Despite there being a big crowd, there seems to be order. The store is very, very clean as compared to other Ranch 99 Markets I've been to. Walked here to gather room supplies for the week. I can safely said that this is the worst 99 ranch market in San Gabriel Valley. 1) the foods are not fresh - had diarrhea a few times after buying their " signature promotion products " 2) Customer service is the worst I've ever experienced. The cashiers literally hate all the customers shopping there. I dare anyone who beg to differ. I will never patronize this business again since there are plenty of other Asian supermarkets that offer much superior products and better customer services. read more

I wish I never went here. The service was so bad like really bad. The employee was so mad at me when I asked for a bag and I gave her the wrong coins and i think the bag cost 10 cents if i'm not wrong. It felt like she wanted me to leave the store and never come back there again. There was a girl and her boyfriend in front of me, and the employee was super nice to them. Also, my friend came to the store last time too the service was really bad. This is the worst service i had in any of the supermarkets. I will never come back this supermarket again. read more

This is the store we tend to go to after enjoying dim sum at the restaurant nearby. You'd like this location because there's plenty of underground parking however, the grocery cart still go down downstairs. We like that it's new, clean well stocked and organized. Although it's very busy, they have plenty of stuff to get to us when we come to the seafood or butcher counter. We do enjoy getting our milk, tea and bread as a quick snack before leaving. Also appreciate having their 15 items or less section, so we don't have to wait in the long lines when we only pick up a few items. read more

Needed some groceries for the week & we tried this 99 Ranch because I wasn't too thrilled with the one in Rancho Cucamonga location. It does seem better organized in terms of spacing & the arrangement of the produce department is decent. I do think that the way it is laid out makes it look like its a bigger store In square footage. Fresh produce, even this late in the day looks pretty fresh. I even found large Envy apples on sale for $1.99/lb (costs about $2.99 or more at Sprouts sometimes). The meat department is especially impressive, well stocked & neatly arranged. For some reason it does seem a bit pricier here. The staff are polite. One thing I noticed though, no one helped bag our groceries here. I know they do in other locations. There were plenty staff walking around but I didn't see any staff manning the bagging area. It certainly would've been helpful if they did. read more

Quality/Quantity - Wow, better than I expected. This is the first time I left with spending SO little $$$$. Came here for some hamburgers; there was only one choice for $11.99 a pound!! Or a frozen option for $6.99 a pound! So I settled for ground pork that was on sale for $2.79 a pound. Got some huge fuji apples for the price that I spent in Walmart yesterday. So I bought more. Got a few more produce items. Looks like the 2024 calendars are in. Used to be free in the past, but I did not get one, nor did they offer it on this trip. Atmosphere - Huge location with the following departments - Jewelry store, Liquor, Bakery, Deli, Seafood (live and fresh), Meat (limited butcher available during "regular" business hours, see picture), Produce, etc. Open 7 days a week from 8am to 10pm. Service - Both self service and full service check out. Everyone went to full service so I followed. Plenty of employees, no wait at all. Team members were very nice and welcoming. They also offer complimentary frying, steaming of live fish, crab, lobsters, etc. See picture. Price - Less than $10. First time in my LIFE that I got out spending so little. No one could believe it; I got so lucky that the stuff I needed was on sale! Well most of it was. So today was inexpensive, but all my other days were expensive... I had a lot of fun shopping at this market! I'm not the typical customer, but I was looking for a specific sweet and savory cracker and brought in a package in Chinese. I found it - on sale! And they had delicious looking bbq pork, so I got that. They had my favorite drink - coffee milk tea w/ boba for half the price of where I usually get it. And - they had packaged Calif rolls for $2.50. Looked good. They had cool flavors of Oreos and Kit Kats that I've never seen before, dangerous looking fruit, and a huge selection of seafood - with a lot live in tanks! I got to see shrimp jumping around. I liked it. People were nice, and even though many didn't speak English - they were helpful and I had a fun time shopping and seeing all the things. I'll come again! read more

I bought a pack of pig ear food from this supermarket, and it was already sour and spoiled when I opened it at home -- totally inedible. I went back to the store to let them know, but the staff was rude and unhelpful. No apology, and no effort to make things right. Selling spoiled food is already bad enough, but the customer service made the whole experience even worse. I buy beef ribs here regularly and the quality has been good. But recently, I found that a lot of the beef around the rib bones has been removed leaving very little meat around the bones. You cannot tell from the outside when it was packaged with saran wrap. I think it is done deliberately to take advantage of the customers. The price per pound remains the same. I went in with no expectations, so to enjoy the flavors so much came as a shock. The mochi balls are kept hotter than the pan fried buns. It's not fresh like Kang Kang, so there are no juices in your bite. The food is just warm enough for me, but some would probably prefer it hotter. More than 2 people around me have commented how much more organized and clean this supermarket is compared to its neighbor the Hawaiian market, so much so that they didn't mind paying a little bit extra for some items. I like how this place saves me a trip from having to go to the H-mart in Arcadia. Here they carry 3 different kinds of Kimchi, all decent, whereas H-mart carries among several one that I have to be careful to avoid (the one with the woman wearing the green dress tastes very bad. ) and they do have the standard Doenjeong (soy bean paste) as well. Snacks I get are Fragrant brand chips with bits of egg yolk and crab as well the freeze-dried durian (da bomb!) I shop at 99 Ranch frequently specially this branch! This store is organized and clean. I like their fresh seafood department, they have many varieties of fish and more. The produce always fresh. There is a huge frozen section which you can find savory and sweet products of your choice. The bakery is also very convenient and fresh. I also find my favorite sapporo beer there ! I always enjoy shopping at this branch because I find more than I am looking for! Also, they offer reward card to add points towards your next purchase which I find impressive! When my Mom and I are out in the San Gabriel Valley (SGV) area on Saturdays, we sometimes drop by this 99 Ranch Market to pick up some non-produce items. For produce items, I normally shop at the 99 Ranch Market in Rancho Cucamonga as its closest to where I live. I don't want the veggies to wither too much while I'm still out and about LOL. This 99 Ranch is located in a huge shopping center. They have a great selection of Asian food items, meats, seafood, fruits and vegetables, etc. This market is pretty clean and organized. Pricing is decent. Parking should not be an issue... they also have underground parking, but sometimes they do get really busy and parking may become unavailable. So plan ahead accordingly. Happy Ranch'ing! There are so much supermarket competition in the SGV area... it's unreal. Just pick the one you like best. When my brothers and I were little, my parents love going to Hawaii Supermarket which happens to be across the street from this 99 Ranch LOL. Yeah, Hawaii is my least favorite market to shop at because of its limited parking and its store is very congested inside. I prefer to shop at San Gabriel Superstore. P.S. It is the go-to premier Chinese grocery store that has the most comprehensive ingredients and foods from Asia, collected all in one place. This 99 Ranch Market is no exception and was my go-to 99 Ranch Market on Valley and San Gabriel Blvd. This one used to have some serious traffic issues due to being so popular. Most importantly is to inform you all that the 99 Ranch Market in the same square as Daiso may be relocated; the square is under huge construction and may be closed soon due to reconstruction. It is sad to see this as this used to be my go-to place for Taiwanese-style breakfast but it is what it is. read more

This 99 Ranch Market is probably the cleanest Asian market I have visited. Aisles are wider than most Asian markets and there are no boxes in the way. The weekly specials are displayed on 2 TV kiosks when you walked into the store. Pretty cool. Produces & fruit sections have many selections with prices clearly marked. But it was the meat section that really surprised me. Between the meat & seafood counters and prepackaged meat sections, it stretched almost the whole width of the store. As I was picking out my choice cut, a staff had a cart refilling those items that were getting low. I want to believe their meat were fresh since they don't stay on the shelf very long. When I was ready to checkout, I noticed they don't have self checkout stations like those I find in American supermarkets. This review is purely because of my experience trying to order the runbing. I came here on two separate occasions and they didn't have it either time. The first time I came before 7 pm and they ran out. The second time I came at 10 am and they said they don't make it until 11 am. When do I need to come to get my runbing! The service ladies are all really nice. Parking is plentiful but also super busy. Ambiance is your typical 99 ranch feel but this areas super busy. Can't comment on the taste of the runbing because I still haven't gotten the chance to try it. Sigh. read more

The exact product that I had bought at a different market had a price that was double the price here. :O There are some good deals here though. Drove pretty far to this location to get this green onion cake since it was not available at the 99 ranch Arcadia. Purchased on 11/11/2023, it says " sell-by date" 11/21/2023, opened same day on 11/11 and saw the rotten cakes hidden inside, almost all except the first one on top were rotten.
