    3lbs sliced beef.
    Cindy Z.

Just a quick update: The price has increased to $20 per tray for 3lbs of sliced beef. Despite the $5 increase, you're still getting an amazing deal here. Perfect place for your shabu, kbbq, and gyudon needs!

You must have space and time to clean and slice with a meat slicer. Beef (3lbs for $20, 07/27/2020).

Ask for pork. He actually has pork! If you can't speak Mandarin, but the Mr. doesn't speak or understand Cantonese, show him the google translation for "pork". Hahaha! I did this and he brought out about a 1.5 lb container of sliced thin pork. I asked, "how much?". "$10", he said. Doesn't hurt to try and ask if you don't understand Mandarin. Next time for pork.

First time here, recommended by friend. Great Shabu shabu meats: $20 for 3lb beef and $22 for lamb. Highly recommended

$20 for 3 lbs of beef. Great quality, too. Must have for hot pot dinners. No complaints here.

And their signage is entirely in Chinese so hopefully you speak Mandarin, don't know how they deal with English.

This place has tons of good deals/sales so it's basically perfect. My wife has their rewards program so it's even better for shopping here. As for products, they're pretty standard to most markets around. Produce are fresh and meats are plentiful. Staff here is efficient and friendly. Occasionally, you'll find staff handing out free samples similar to Costco. Overall, a standard market and pretty consistent with other 99 Ranch Markets. They also have a bakery in the back which is pretty popular. Not expensive at all and plentiful of options. They have self checkout stations as well but sometimes they're not open. Usually there's about 3-4 cashier stations going on so traffic control is pretty good.

I loved the variety of ready-to-eat selections, especially the marinated baby squids and marinated beef flanks. There was a huge bakery section next to the hot deli. The pastries here looked fresher and more appealing than other locations I've been to. What makes this location even more unique is the seafood counter offers complimentary steaming of live crabs and lobsters, something I have not seen at any supermarket. It sits in such a fancy-looking plaza, and I noticed a banner claiming Marugame Udon has a spot here. Perfectly convenient to do lunch then grocery shop afterward. Definitely bookmarking this as my favorite 99 Ranch location!

I have been to this Asian market a few times and am actually surprised that the price of produce is really cheap. But you do have to be aware that the fruits may not last as long as maybe going to another market like Smart & Final or Stater Bro's. Also there have been times when I have seen produce starting to mold/ have spots. During cherry season, I was surprised to find that this market sold rainier cherries (I actually love these more than the red ones) for $1.98 per pound where as other places are selling them for anywhere from $5 to $7 per pound. It is very busy when some of their produce like that is very cheap (because you know you just aren't the only one who thinks that is a good deal). The rest of the market itself has a similar layout as what you would expect at other Asian markets. And on our past visits, the market has been clean and did not have that familiar odor that may be associated with Asian markets. One thing I thought was interesting though about this market is that you need to have a minimum purchase of at least $5 for credit card transactions. I have only seen a small number of markets that have a minimum for credit card transactions and just wanted to bring that up for those that don't normally carry cash but wish to grocery shop here.

What really pissed me off today was the cashier at station 6 (older Asian lady with her hair in a bun and with glasses). We were waiting for bags and she started telling us to put the items in our cart. So, we just assumed she was out of bags and we started putting the items into the cart. When it came time to pay, that's when this db decided to hand over bags and shot a bag at me while I was picking up items in the cart. Of course I ask her why the fuck she threw the fucking bag at me like that. Did she understand? No idea but she did stare back at me.

But my husband and I were looking for a specific Chinese tea drink and so we ended up coming here because we had gone to a few of the other Chinese markets nearby with no such luck. We ended up parking on Valley instead of parking in their small parking lot and then walked in. I am surprised that this market hasn't changed since my childhood, honestly the market doesn't look like it has remolded or changed. It's like a time capsule, frozen in time. I did end up finding that tea drink here and I was also really surprised how cheap a lot of the produce was, as compared to other Asian supermarkets. I wish I could understand them and participate, but alas, they're all in Chinese.
