The fresh bottled milk at Broguiere's Dairy (Montebello) is incomparable to its shipped grocery store counterparts. I immediately tasted the difference. Its bottled milk is delicate, very creamy, and very fresh. I broke into a wide smile as I sipped this chill, refreshing beverage. [Important Note: Broguiere's Dairy (Montebello) only accepts cash or check. No card.] I visited Broguiere's Dairy (Montebello) on Thursday (around 12:20PM). It's busy and popular, but car flow is quick. Customer parking consists of street parking or the narrow strip besides the counters. There's no car service, so customers must exit their vehicle and approach the outside counters. Broguiere's Dairy (Montebello) ordering process appears intimidating; however, it's fairly simple. Just walk to the outside counter, and tell staff your order. Just look at the drinks in their glass fridge. Staff is very friendly. Staff brightly chimed, "Have a good day, Boss" as I left. If I had to nitpick, the hanging menu prices looked confusing and messy; its numbers appeared to be falling off. Also, the small menu plastered by the counter said "Prices as of October 2024," so I had no idea if it's up-to-date. Still, chatting with the staff helps clarify, but it would feel more welcoming if the menus were clearer. I purchased bottled strawberry milk (paper receipt said $5.79). I found joy in that cool, refreshing beverage. To my utter delight, the drink was not too sweet. Rather, I basked in its fresh strawberry flavor and creamy, fresh milk. This milk flowed like silk. It quickly quenched my thirst. After guzzling down the drink, I walked back to the counter and handed the empty bottle; I immediately received the $2 cash back. Concerning ambiance, Broguiere's Dairy (Montebello) has an iconic, Mom & Pop Store feel. It's also comfortable; the fresh air felt nice. Its large sign is charming. And its displayed milk truck is nice to gaze at. However, Broguiere's Dairy (Montebello) also resembles clean, old gas station with counters. At the very least, Broguiere's Dairy (Montebello) exudes a sense of antiquity with that classic worn down folksy atmosphere. Overall, I had a wonderful experience at Broguiere's Dairy (Montebello). The bottled milk is extremely fresh. If nearby, it's definitely a must-try. 4.9 out of 5

***Cash, EBT, or checks only accepted as payment Finally was able to stop by Broguiere's! Such a cool and nostalgic experience. The long driveway entrance almost feels like you're pulling into a little hidden gem from the past. You park, walk up, and are instantly greeted with the charm of a small-town dairy spot. The staff was super friendly and welcoming, which made the visit even better. I picked up some strawberry and chocolate milk--both were delicious, but the strawberry is my favorite for now! The glass bottles add such a classic touch, keeping the milk cold and tasting extra fresh. It almost felt like stepping back in time, with that old-school charm you don't find often these days. Can't wait to return for more and maybe try the other flavors. Definitely worth the visit if you're in the area!

When you need milk of course you should buy local, so I did sort of since I live in Glendale and it was a Sunday I had to hurry and head over since they close early... I made it with 15 minutes to spare, but the line was long and moving pretty fast I mean its milk or so you thought!!! I knew what I wanted from the start Strawberry Milk and Chocolate... Strawberry is my favorite and lets just say its the best!!! It's my turn and order my bottles, remember its cash only so if you dont want to pay an ATM fee then make sure you have some. $12 for 2 bottles not bad, not bad because of who they are and how good the milkshake taste. If you bring the bottles back they do give you a bottle credit for your next visit!! During the week they open as early as 7:00 AM so dont fret if you miss out, you can always come back... Overall great tasking milk that delivers!!!!

A great drive through dairy with fast and friendly service we've been going to for years! Now I make the trek there because my husband loves the chocolate milk! I love the seasonal packaging, it's so cute! Tried the seasonal eggnog as well. All great and if you bring the glass bottles back you get a return on your purchase!

I'm an old fashioned guy and I love being able to buy milk local in a glass bottle. You really can't go wrong with the milk from here! We got Chocolate and Strawberry as well, but they were a bit too sweet for our liking. I'm looking forward to holidays so I can try their Egg Nog. Ironically, I didn't know about Broguiere's Dairy until I went to Bristol Farms to buy some Chocolate milk for the wife and saw Broguiere's Chocolate Milk being sold there. I knew I had to check out the local dairy farm in Montebello. I'm looking forward to coming back to get our fresh milk fix. The Whole Milk was so good! Don't forget to bring your wallet! Cash only!

    Cute truck!!!

I'm so happy this dairy is still here. Their milk is top tier. We always get chocolate milk all the time. I love that they have a no hassle bottle return policy. They deducted my bottle return from my total. Who doesn't love that! The guy was nice and friendly. Word of advice it is cash only! I should have read that prior to going!!! The place is a drive thru dairy. So you can drive up if you wanted. The place was a bit dark but clean. The truck in front is just so cute! Coming back when my bottles are empty!

Broguiere's is my favorite brand of milk, and they're pretty exclusive to attain at the premium grocery stores. My sweet boyfriend took me to their dairy in Montebello to get some milk fresh from the source. There is a drive through or street parking in the area. They seem to run the business pretty old school and casual. We happened to come during the holidays while they had their seasonal Egg Nog flavor. It was only available in one size - the quart. I still love my Chocolate Milk, so I also got a pint of that to enjoy immediately. Yummm!! The fresh milk is so thick and decadent. Tastes like luxury. I'll definitely be back the next time I crave some tasty chocolate milk. Next time I'll try some of their other dairy products, especially excited for the ice cream.

    Finished this all by myself

Best strawberry milk I've ever had. I drank one large one all by myself. Drank a quarter of the second large one and I am tempted to finish it all in one day. It's so tasty. Not too sweet, it's perfect. It's addicting. It should be illegal for it to be that good. I want to go back every single day.

If you want Fresh Milk, Fresh eggs Broguiere's Dairy Farm has the FRESHEST products. The whole milk is creamy and rich. The CHOCOLATE MILK IS TO DIE FOR. I also tried their strawberry milk which is delicious too. They don't accept credit, so make sure to have cash handy with you. The staff are very friendly and nice. Best dairy product with fresh taste, excellent quality and great price for the quality you get.

Ask the Community - Broguiere's Dairy

Are their milk from grass fed dairy cow or organic?

    Organic from what I know

Was this dairy ever called Maguires?

Yes when it was briefly owned by baseball legend Mark McGwire. It reverted back to the old name when he got busted for feeding the cows steroids.

Last time I went was many many moons ago. They only took cash. It's late 2022, do they take cards now? Or should I get cash before my trip down?

    Cash only

Are the eggs sold here, Pasture raised?

The do sell eggs here, at very good prices. Not sure if they are pasture-raised or not

Are the plastic bottles from eggnog returnable?

No, they're not. There was no deposit fee on them and they don't want them back, I asked when I noticed the bottle was different lol.

Where is their cottage cheese from?

Why does the eggnog have corn syrup and a bunch of artificial ingredients (eggnog base?) this year?

If you look on the back of the bottle you will notice it was bottled at plant 06-935 which is Scott bros dairy. I know they get the raw milk from there. They also said something about a glass shortage because of Covid. I do know for sure they… Read more

Other than at the dairy, where else is Broguiere's egg nog sold? Ralph's used to sell the whole line, but I don't see it there anymore.

I saw some at Sprouts! It was $7.99 and came in a plastic bottle that resembled their classic glass bottles.

Does Broguiere's sell heavy whipping cream? And if so, what kind of pasteurization?

Last time I checked(a few months ago) they did not carry heavy whipping cream.

    Are pets allowed?

I'm inclined to say no, with the exception of service animals. However, their service is so fast, as in it takes about a minute to make your purchase. It shouldn't be an issue to leave your pet in your vehicle while you grab your milk and your car… Read more

When will their egg nog be available?

Usually between Thanksgiving and a little after Christmas.

Are they still open for business for stay home curfew?

Yes! We just went today (March 23) around 5pm and they still had trays of eggs and the usual dairy products (including buttermilk). The eggs were $7.25 for a tray of 20 jumbo eggs, limit 1 tray per person, per day.… Read more

How does the transaction process work? I have a local drive-thru dairy by my house where we stay in the car the entir time. Do you stay in the car here or do you park and go inside? Just curious!

You have to get out of the car and visit the counter.

Are they still selling milk in glass bottles With deposit?

    Yes.

Has anyone spotted the eggnog on store shelves? If so, where in?

    Gelsons West Hollywood

Is eggnog available for 2019 holiday season yet?

    Yes, it's available now 👍🏽

Hi, when do they start to sell eggnog?

How much is the eggnog and chocolate milk? So I know how much to bring. Thanks

    Are the eggs free range?

Yes.... They have White and Brown shelled eggs, both are Free Range.

Since they reopened, did they or do they offer any tours of sorts?

    No they don't.

How do I return the bottle?

Just rinse out & drop off for the $2 deposit.

From the moment I walked up to her register, she greeted me with the kindest smile the kind that makes you feel instantly comfortable and taken care of even after a long day. She made small talk and asked me about my day which sometimes we need that from a stranger I had a pretty full cart, including a few items I needed for a last minute family dinner I was hosting that evening. Of course I realized too late that I'd grabbed the wrong type of chicken broth, and the aisle was halfway across the store. Before I could even say anything, Yazmin noticed my hesitation and asked if everything was okay. When I explained, she didn't just point me in the right direction she personally called for assistance and when no one was immediately available she jogged over herself to grab the correct item. She came back in less than a minute, still smiling. On top of that, she noticed that a couple of my produce stickers had rubbed off during bagging. Instead of holding up the line, she quickly entered the codes from memory something I've never seen a cashier do that fast. She was patient, upbeat, and treated every customer after me with the same energy. What really stood out, though, was that as she finished bagging my groceries (organized so nicely, by the way) she reminded me about a digital coupon she noticed I hadn't clipped. She took an extra moment to help me pull it up on the app and saved me almost $15 on my total. Now in days It's rare to find someone who genuinely cares about doing their job with this much pride and kindness. Yazmin went far above and beyond and Vons is lucky to have her. I left the store in a better mood than I came in and that says everything. If you ever find yourself at this Vons, do yourself a favor and go to Yazmin's lane.
