I'm very satisfied with how this cake turned out . Honestly when I first called to put in the order the first person who helped me wasn't so great but the manager got a very nice girl named Elizabeth on the phone to take my order and she was great! Elizabeth let me text her a picture of what I wanted and that was very helpful. When I picked up the cake 2 days later Gloria accidentally gave me the wrong shade of blue (I wanted pastel blue) and she offered to fix it but we ended up taking the cake with the bright blue they had put on the cake because it didn't look bad at all . Gloria did a great job remaking the cake to look exactly like the pic I had texted ! I added the elephant and balloons . (Picture attached. ) I gave 4 stars because I asked for chocolate on the bottom tier but the whole cake was vanilla . The guests didn't mind though, they all liked vanilla anyway. read more

And I don't mean expired by a few days, the item I was going to buy was expired since 8/12/2023 and today is 12/9/2023. 14:00 yesterday at Isle 8 I think . Right now it's the special time , everybody staying away with each other . They had those red line drawn on the ground at the register so you'll keep like 6' with each other. When you are in line you watch what other move up and you follow up. I was there did just like what other people did and I got yelled at by this register lady . "Sir u need to stay behind that line. " dude I was just moving like everybody else did. Suggestion to Vons management- your lines now run down the isles- you need to mark the isle for lane one as express all the way down the isle- literally stood in line for a good 20 mins - got to the front of the line to realize I was in the express isle- the person checking the express lane step out and gave me this look like- seriously- Whoa not the time to be rude- make better signs so people know where to go- I usually do Instacart for this reason- but the delivery takes to long now - 2 regular lanes open and 1 express lane open- Sunday at 12:47pm- it's busy - So now I wait read more

I write this review as I sit at home with my family on week 8 of stay at home orders. Shopping for a large family is difficult on any given day but shopping for groceries online as routine now has become even harder. I've tried several apps and remained faithful to my usual neighborhood stores. However using apps has definitely been a hit and miss. I'm a usual VONS shopper and was hoping my store, Alta Loma, would offer pick-up service so I could bypass instacart. They didn't but they did offer delivery through their store and I decided to use that. I received my order within 12 hours which is really good for a direct store delivery however it was so wrong. Like 50% of the $200 order was either wrong or missing. I called the online customer service (the wait was long as expected) and a nice representative named Jennifer from AZ patiently went over everything for me, she scheduled another delivery for tomorrow morning. Less than 30 minutes later I get a call from Judith at this VONS regarding the redelivery of my missing items. She was really great at explaining that even delivery was not offered directly from my VONS. She understood my frustration and long story short an hour later I had most of my missing items delivered! Pretty large Vons, with a deli and bakery; with wide selection of product. Plenty of staff, with bagging assistance which is a plus. Been here countless of times, no real complaints. One thing I wish they'd improve on is the homeless, they should focus on pushing them away instead of allowing them to hang out. Call the cops, get them away, especially during the night: I'm a man and I can handle myself but I can only imagine what the lonely women shoppers feel. Mistakes were made this evening. This place has gotten even worse. Decided to give it another try after speaking with the very pleasent regional manager. Upon entering the store I was assaulted immediately by the smell of what can only be described as wet day old subway- the food place not public transportation. I'm assuming it has something to do with the floral arrangements near the entrance, but something has gone wrong. I forced my way passed the smell only to be greeted by a new smell! Gas. Maybe my senses were so thrown by whatever olfactory offensive line that I couldn't properly decode whatever fresh scent had befallen my nose... but still it smelled like propane to me. I briefly contemplated telling an employee but that line of reasoning is predicated on someone actually being there- and there wasn't. Nope. At first I thought that the lack of crowd was due to the employees manning the checkout lanes but then I noticed that faint loop over the loudspeaker wasn't "the safety dance." No it was someone calling for customer servic to the front... because there was no one. That's right, the checkout lanes were void of any employees. Came into the store on Saturday 9/26 around 4pm. To order some fried chicken about 20 pieces & the guy the helped me says "we have a few orders let me check if that's ok". Once he's coming back a elder white lady comes out at stares at me before sayings yes or no! How rude!!! She basically judge me by the way I looked before saying anything. Sincerely sorry for how long this is, but honestly cut this to the bone. OMG, what can I say? Majorly disappointed in this Vons. I just moved from San Diego, where I lived down the street from the Vons located in a northern suburb of San Diego. At that location only it seemed, they made these delicious cookies they called Susans. Like the Brown Eyed Susan cookies, they came in chocolate, fruit and a flavor I can't find at ANY other Vons. The salted caramel flavored Susan cookies. My husband is addicted to them. Since we moved here in February, every Vons I've checked only have the chocolate and fruit. I grab 3-4 boxes of cookies whenever I am in San Diego. It's inconvenient, but my husband loves them and I love my husband. Really trying to make this as short as I can. I went to the Vons located at Baseline and Cherry to ask if the bakery would make a special order of the cookies. Two boxes. I ordered them on Friday morning and was told they would be ready on Monday. I spent most of the weekend with my family in San Diego but didn't get any cookies while I was there Monday comes - I go there around 3:30 to give them some extra time, three days in fact. First, there is nobody in bakery. Ok. (I wait 10 minutes) I ask a customer service representative if she would call someone to the bakery so I can pick up the order. She gives me a blank look like what's a representative? I told her I would go shop for my other items and come back. Nothing, she just walks away. I get the other items, then head back. The bakery is still empty of workers, and I am one of five people waiting. I grab a young kid and tell him to go get someone, now there's a line. People come up and the same lady who took my order walks up and tells me my cookies are not ready, nobody had cooked them that day and they had to be done later than expected. I was told I needed to come back in 30 min to allow the caramel to set. Fine. I come back to a line of people waiting their turn at the bakery. Waited my turn, she brings out the cookies. I have included a professional pic of the cookies I get at the Vons in San Diego. The other pic is what I picked up, All I can say is, "Are you kidding me"? I just took the bag and went home. This fiasco took over three hours for me to end up with a sticky mess. None of them are edible, I ended up making a crust for bars Topped with a caramel marshmallow creme then drizzled with chocolate. I hate to complain because of something that can be construed as trivial, but it was just such a slap in the face. It was like, don't even try. Do the different Vons share the same recipes? I thought they were all alike?? This was just such a waste of time and pointless. Total Fail. BTW - my husband loved my bars! Caramel-Marshmallow cream over the shortbread crust, then drizzled with chocolate ganache. Turned out pretty good! Again apologies for the long tirade over cookies. Just pissed me off. :) read more

Had a vaccine appntmnt today here at this location and it's a 20 min drive for me & as soon as I was about to pull into the parking lot I get a call from Vons saying that they can't give me the vaccine (my second dose, phizer) because they don't have phizer, they only have moderna. I booked my appntmnt online so I asked why didn't it make that clear online when it said they had both phizer and moderna & the lady said "yeah I don't know, sorry". Terrible experience & service. This is my favorite place to shop, especially when I'm at work! It's a few minutes of driving time away from me, and I like to take strolls here during my lunch break. All of the Vons employees are very friendly. They just created the Just4U app late last year, and you can go online to add coupons to your account, so when you checkout, you just type in your phone number and everything will digitally discount. Perfect! No lost coupons that need to be dealt with! The deli is very tasty and fresh as well, you can order a variety of hot and cold sandwiches, as well as breakfast sandwiches, and their latest edition of breakfast burritos which are delightful! Breakfast is very cheap, only $1.99, but lunch sandwiches are $5.99. Sometimes there will be specials for the week that include chips and a drink or soup and a drink for the same price of $5.99. When you purchase 7 items, the 8th is free! This vons location also has a Starbies. You can still get your stars when you purchase from this location, as long as you pay with your registered card. :) read more

This store has been the most accommodating. Recently I had been very ill and now have to use oxygen . I needed to pick up some things at the store I wanted fresh fruits and vegetables and I wanted to choose them myself and I wanted the store experience but I need to use one of the mobility carts the store provides. So I called the store a customer service person answered I explained my situation and lo and behold this was the best experience.... They sent a young man named Cameron out in a mobility cart to my car in the parking lot.. he was very helpful he waited while I got my oxygen in the cart. Once in the cart. I was off on my own and I was able to go through the store and choose the things I wanted. The watermelon and the fresh tomatoes were some of the highlights. When I was all done and checked out the young man came back help me back to the car put my stuff in the car. really And the best part is the young man seemed to take pride in his ability to assist me.. this speaks highly for the store management and for the young man. I was waiting, literally 15 minutes in line and the Customer Service Rep, helping another customer ahead of me did not acknowledge my presence one time. This store is way overpriced, it's ridiculous. Lines tend to be long with only 1-2 registers open, when there are lot's of employees there who could open another one. Their bathrooms need to be cleaned more frequently. On the plus side, cashiers have been friendly in my experience, there is plenty of parking and I do like their produce selection and variety. read more

1 Star for how every time I enter - it smells so clean and seasonal! Cashier named Sarah Garcia- she was not knowledgeable whatsoever. Maybe she's new but she doesn't know how I can apply for the Vons card. How do you not know how a customer can not apply for the FREE bins card when you work there. Even you are a new cashier- she should know about that! Lines are always long- they would only have 2-3 registers open. I would suggest training more of those workers to be cashiers but they will lose customers if this is always happening. read more

Had an issue towards the end a supervisor had to be called. I can't remember her name I think it started with a "L" she was so rude. I have been coming to this store with my family for years and recieved great service. I would love to give 5 stars, but after the treatment I received today my mind has been changed. The female employee that was working in the self-checkout this afternoon was extremely rude and unprofessional. Throughout our entire transaction she continuously harassed my mother and I. I have never been treated this way at this store. My mother did call and spoke with one of the managers and they were very nice and handled the situation well. But, she made our visit so unpleasant that I don't think I will be returning to this location. Did not feel welcomed at all. read more

I guess that somethings haven't changed since covid19. The phone support is the worst that I have ever had. I waited for about ten minutes to get a live person. That person was pleasant and told me that she would transfer me to customer service. I waited another 3 minutes or so for another live person to pick up. She didn't listen to what I said. She said that I needed to be transferred to the meat department. The meat department picked up almost immediately. I explained to him that I had been transferred to him and I was looking for a particular product. I told him that it was not in the meat department.
