So I think the here say is correct, Amazon Fresh is closing. When I walked in today, all the registers had All Sales Final on them. I don't know that I'll miss Amazon fresh or not because the only thing I really loved here was the sushi. I'll stand by my word and continue to say they have the best store bought sushi. Today I stopped in to get some flowers, and same issue I always say. Nothing is ever really stocked. They had a fair selection but all the bouquets were small and a lot of them were welted and picked over. I guess it's not super horrible because each one was only $4.99. I didn't encounter or speak to any associates on this visit because I walked straight to the flowers and they're near self check out. The store itself is like most grocery stores. They have labeled isles, registers, a cold section, etc. I will say, the store appeared even more empty but probably because it's closing. Amazon Fresh in Fontana truly stands out, and it's because of the staff. They are exceptional. I notice new team members being trained right near the entrance--and it really shows that the training sticks. The consistency is almost impressive to the point of being funny (in the best way). Every single employee is courteous, enthusiastic, and genuinely kind. It's almost "creepy" how similarly positive they all are--but that just tells me the culture here is strong and intentional. Grocery stores are usually all the same, but Amazon Fresh goes above and beyond. Easy returns, warm ready-to-eat food options, and hidden sales tucked away in nearly every aisle make shopping here enjoyable instead of a chore. This is hands down my favorite grocery store in all of Fontana. I actually love coming here. read more

I am surprised that Amazon Fresh isn't crazy busy yet! I'm thankful that I'm always to get really good parking in the huge lot! I love the bright and clean aesthetic. It really is giving "fresh". It's rare to be welcomed inside the store with a store associate anymore so I appreciate the human connection. They have the best produce. I am always able to snag a few sales for the family. Huge selection of groceries. I love the Amazon return counter at the back of the store, it's a one stop shop for me. The only thing they can in the future would be a gas station, imagine! The statement about lower prices is true. I've been visiting many different Fresh stores including one of the originals before the lockdown and now I see the improvements with the prices. It's like night and day. I think the Executives realized high prices don't work in the grocery business if you have Amazon in front of the fresh name. High prices work at Whole Foods, Gelson's, and Bristol Farms. Customer know in advance that these stores have higher service along with higher prices. The customer traffic in all of the stores that I have visited has improved greatly. I didn't want be a prime member to get low prices. The prices here are pretty much the same as a regular grocery store. But they do offer some deals for Amazon members. Also I love the shop & scan baskets. It makes shopping quick and easy. There's an awesome salad bar. Make sure to try the pizza. I got the spinach pizza and it was delicious. The store is very clean and bright. There's a huge selection of alcohol. Upon entering the store a young lady asked if I had any questions and offered to explain their Dash carts. You do not have to be a Prime member to shop here. But if you are a Prime member, you might find some coupons and deals on the Amazon app. They have regular carts available and also Dash carts. You sign in on the Amazon app, look for the in-store QR code, scan it using one of the scanners on the cart and start shopping. You scan your items while in store shopping and then you can exit through the Dash lane and your payment method on file will be charged. This store also has 4 regular checkout lanes and around 6 or so self checkouts. There are Alexa stations throughout which can help you find items. In the back of the store is a customer service desk for pickup and returns and some automated return stations. They have a deli section for lunch meats, pizza by the slice, sushi etc. There is a salad bar and hot bar with items like curry, fried rice, low mein, brussels sprouts, mashed potatoes, chicken etc. Price is 8.99 per pound with Prime, 9.99 without. The store does carry items such as kitchen and cosmetic/healthcare products, but the focus is on food items. You'll find more or less the same as in any other store, but be prepared to be shocked by some of the prices. If I think of the store as a whole and on average, then I would say it is expensive, but ... there are deals. For example, 12oz fresh salmon, after coupon and Prime savings, $4.03. A 4 pack of take and bake ciabatta rolls for 2.69. They cost 5.99 at other stores. 1lb pinto beans 1.34 12oz frozen veggies 1.25 Those are deals. Bad deals? Here we go: 2 lb strawberries 6.69 One cauliflower 3.79 1 lb asparagus 4.99 A single bellpepper 1.99 ?!?! A small 7.75 oz bag of potato chips 4.69 Sprite zero 8 pack 8.99 1 carton 32oz chicken stock 5.99 My bottom line, many items are expensive. There are some sales and deals. Always check if there is an Amazon Fresh version of the brand name item, which will get you significant savings. A brief note on accessibility: the entrance is accessible and aisles are relatively wide and they do have accessible restrooms. Not so good is the choice of digital produce scales. They might present problems for shoppers who are not so well versed in technology or older people as well as shoppers with visual impairments, because these scales do not seem to have an optional speech output. read more

EXPERIMENTAL SHOPPING EXPERIENCE FLUNK I finally stoped in and gave this place a try. I've shopped online with Amazon plenty of times - who hasn't? The experience here was just disappointing. A lot of my go-to items were not found here... plus, when I did find one of my regular items, it was just so overpriced compared to where I usually get it. Last but not least, you'll see items that appear to have some kind of price-break, or deal, and appearing to look like a great price... but really, it is just a few dollars off of a an already, needlessly high priced up item. I was absolutely appalled. The only good things about this market is that it was really clean. Last but not least, it serves as an additional Amazon return hub to return all those items that didn't work out for you like you thought they were. Amazon Fresh just will not be one of my destinations to buy groceries. read more

The Amazon Fresh in Fontana is such a disappointment. The store itself is very cold and almost reminds me of a hospital in a way, just very sterile. Since it's primarily a grocery store, that's not necessarily a huge deal, but I was mostly surprised with the pricing - this is a grocery store with premium prices without the service or atmosphere to warrant it. I've been twice and have left pretty unimpressed both times. I know this location was opened a while ago, but we never made it until recently. My family was quite excited to check it out. There's plenty of parking in the plaza if you need to shop here. As you enter, you could select the carts that have the Amazon app on it. We're already Amazon Prime members, so we didn't need it since we have the Amazon app on our phones. As I went through the fresh vegetables and fruit, I did notice two items priced lower than the other grocery stores that I usually shop at. Apples and grapes were reduced, and it was a great value to buy. My family enjoyed the extra, large supreme pizza we bought. They actually bake the pizza there for you and it only took 10 minutes. My family loved it and ate it already once we reached the car. As for me, the pizza was uncooked, and I wasn't starving like my family. I put my slices in the oven to cook longer, but hey, paying $7.99 as an Amazon Prime member, the value is great. Now I took some time looking at the other canned food, frozen items, milk, juices and everything else. Driving all the way here for just one or two items on sale, is it worth it? Probably not. Almost everything they sold were at a higher price. I'd rather play less at a different store. Since Halloween is just around the corner, the prices of their candy were worth it. Cheaper with more candies that the other stores. I told my husband to buy 2 bags since they were handing out candies at his office for Halloween. Would I go back here? Who should shop here? People who hate crowds and want to get their grocery shopping done as efficiently as possible. If you have an Amazon account, even better, but it's not required to shop here. I visited this store the other day since I was in town and it's a pretty big sized store compared to the other locations I've been to. I frequent the Irvine and Fullerton locations a lot and am still learning, but the main benefit of shopping here for me is the lack of crowds and they're typically fully stocked with supplies. For example, last week the east coast longshoremen went on strike and it shouldn't have affected the west side, but both Sam's Club & Costco were either out or running out of water and toilet paper. I went to Amazon Fresh and they had it all and maybe 20 customers were in the store at the time so no long lines to checkout and no fighting to panic buy supplies. Is there a cost savings? This store, I didn't notice any crazy sale prices, but at the Fullerton location I've noticed a few things are deeply discounted, but you just have to go in and physically look because I don't believe it's always advertised. I went through the aisles, I didn't see deep discounts but I'm thinking this is a new store it might take a little time to try to move inventory. The biggest discount is going to come from the paper ad that is at the front of the store or from the Amazon groceries e-mail (sign up via the Amazon app) and it's typically spend $50 get $10 off. That paired with the sale items will knock off a significant amount from your overall total. As for the smart cart, it's cool, but it's also kind of annoying if you want to remove something from the cart because you changed your mind. It's also kind of heavy, but what's cool is if you have an Amazon account it will charge the card on file or if you have an Amazon gift card on your account you can switch the payment to that. You have to head to the express checkout lane for the cart, confirm your items, then walk off and everything gets charged and receipt is e-mailed to you. You can also shop using a normal cart and checkout at the checkout stand with a live person or checkout at the self-checkout area. Either way, it's going to be a much shorter line than your regular grocery store. The deli has a hot bar and the items are mid. I would not recommend the pizza at all. It looks good, but tastes like cardboard. The hot bar items aren't bad, but it is expensive. I believe it's $8.99 a pound. Overall, it's the grocery store of the future! read more

My new go-to market for certain essentials. I only get marked down stuff (some are pretty aggressive) and Amazon brand stuff like happy belly and applenty. The dashboard adds up your totals and can direct you to what you're looking for. Add the extra $10 or $15 off on $50 and easy walk-through check out, it's a win every time!! read more

The store itself with the Smart Carts is cool. It's something new and exciting here. It's a well organized store with cool features like Alexa kiosks to help you find things. The prices overall are very average and sometimes more expensive than other stores. However, they do have the occasional REALLY good deal here and there. I went the other day to do some shopping at this store, and they would not accept my Amazon in-store code. When I brought it up to the supervisor, he didn't try to help and said it was the bank's fault, which was not true. I have shopped there plenty of times, and they always have problems with the machine, but they haven't done anything to fix it. The supervisor seems more interested in collecting a paycheck than in caring about how to treat customers. The workers were very rude, standing around talking to each other instead of doing their jobs. The business is extremely dirty, and they are doing nothing about it. They have a wonderful hot bar that you can get some food and there were workers that were help very helpful. The store is very clean and everything is nice. I like this store, it's my new go to. Super sad about the little shopper carts being stolen. As a mom with a toddler those little Carts make my experience for shopping so much easier, my son actually looks forward to going, I can get what I need or look for a quick deal. I shop for my other items that I can't get at Costco. Or when I don't need as much. Very clean store, friendly staff, clean lot, great variety. It was bleak. It seems that Amazon is forcing returns to this store now instead of UPS drop off etc.... so.....They put the "customer service" where you do returns in the way back corner of the store without any way finding signage... anyone with awkward items to do an Amazon return has an extra chore figuring out navigation etc... especially if you have mobility issues or need extra care. Take a cart from the parking lot with you -- the store was designed to force customers to shop. annoying. There are lots and lots of employees around who are standing in aisles talking with co-wrokers blocking through-ways - not being helpful. No eye contact -- not one employee acknowledged any customers! why be there if you can't bother working...? or at least being friendly? i do not understand this retail business / cultural situation. The store is not designed to be helpful - its only about self-service. so hopefully you dont have a question or need help. Costco is much more pleasant .... Walmart is more pleasant .... Whole Foods Market is more pleasant .... This place is like the $9.99 cent store. Most everything is 30% more than simliar stores nearby... what a shame. The food bar etc is dismal... Some of the food is obviously put out from the day before (RICE for example is all dried out and not fit for serving anyone in any food establishment.. not chipotle, not el pollo loco, not panda express -- completely disgusting)... the offering for the salad bar were equally very limited and poor quality. AND if you try to use a gift card here - DONT. It eats it up and when you ask for help they won't help you and instead just think you didn't have a gift card. Most of the produce here and certain goods were expired and had mold. Definitely a result of management. You are better going to Ralph's up the street where staff treats you like a human being. I had a pretty satisfying visit to Amazon fresh. Went there Amazon Returns, walked through the store and found that they are less expensive on the items I regularly purchase. I later went back and had a grae experience. The reason for the 4 stars and not 5 stars was my friend with me had his service animal with him. Another lady had a dog inside her purse and it barked at "Buddy" and thus buddy barked back one bark. The Manager came out "Barking" at my friend and myself. The service animal was never out of control. but she Threw him out of the store and of course the lady with the barking dog was allowed to stay. Her actions were truly out of control and the anger in her face added to a negative reaction from her. I have been a General Manager with 20 plus years and my managers and myself have never approached a guest with such hostility. My friend and I are both Senior Citizens, I'm actually 72 years old, and did't need to be approach us in that tone or manner, "Unprofessional" ! read more

I've been to this store a few times. They have good deals on things that I frequently buy. However, this last visit on Thursday 4/19/25 in the evening was horrible. The employees on the floor seemed miserable and lack any enthusiasm, the person at the door was the only one that said hi, but that's his job technically "greater" duties. I wanted to know why the pricing for an item was cheaper online than in the store. No one could give me an answer nor did they seem like they wanted to help find one. At checkout I asked one more time and the employee said he didn't know. And that's where his customer service ended, he never offered to find out why. 4 orders and nothing but problems every order. Delivery times are 36-48 hours from time of order. They have a 2 hour delivery window that turns into 3 because their orders are always delivered late. Customer service is in a foreign Country so mix ups and order issues can't be fixed quickly. They canceled an order because they were so late the order would have been delivered after 11PM at night and the rescheduled new order for 36 hours later, so order was received 4 days after the order was placed. They have about a 10 percent substitution rate and rarely pick decent substitutions so 3 hour window becomes about a 4.5 hour order window because you have to start monitoring your order 90 minutes till first listed delivery availability. Just an awful process with lack of customer service or accountability. I'll never place another order again. read more

I just had the worst experience. I've been coming here weekly since I moved here last November. I had a gift card this time and attempted to use the self check out. It took the money and prompted for employee assistance. The employee was confused and called for a manager, Mario.. He immediately treated us in such a belittling way we were speechless. i am shocked this is who is chosen to lead this store and employees. We left with no groceries, disrespected, and choosing to never return to this store. Just giving yall the heads up. At least avoid interacting with Mario if you don't want your day ruined.
