my cuticles were cute way to short it caused my toe to swell after 3 days and now there is puss coming out and it looks nasty. I called to try getting my money back and they said no to go back and get it fixed and i said I've had 2 bad experiences, the first time with my nails and this time with my toes but now it's causing puss I don't trust to go back anymore & they still refuse to give me a refund!! I really wanted to like it here! The staff was friendly and the place seemed clean. Unfortunately after less than 24 hours of wear, my nails are completely destroyed. I got acrylics with gel polish. They started to chip and peel which is strange for gel polish and the nails over all were very bumpy and uneven. I read their policy as I was checking out and they clearly say that they don't do refunds of any kind which is slightly disappointing, but I understand they need to stay in business. If there is any way to get my money back that would be wonderful but I don't see that happening. Unfortunately I won't be back and I don't recommend this salon. read more

I took my 3 year old with me to get our nails done the Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend. This place is near our house and had pretty decent reviews so I thought why not. They have adorable children's chairs which was a HUGE plus to my daughter who wanted to get her nails done. She got her toes and hands done for $25 and they even put little flowers on her thumbs and big toes. She loved it. I got a pedicure and what I thought was a shellac manicure (I was misinformed by the nail tech, it was gel, which feels much heavier and honestly didn't last long). I also was talked into a face wax, the nail tech made me feel bad about having a few hairs around my lips and in between my eyebrows. I'm blonde so you can't really see the hair but she just kept saying, "are you sure you don't want a wax, those hairs are so long!" Which even though I wasn't planning on one nor did I really want one, I ended up doing it because my self-esteem when it comes to my looks is not where it needs to be and she made me self conscious. I thought my nails looked really good after we were done and my daughter and I left. But the next day I noticed how streaky my toe nail polish looked. It was like you could see the brush lines. And my "shellac" polish, really gel, were already getting rough and looking messy around the cuticles (starting to peel or turn up). My daughter's nails still looked great and she is 3 almost 4 and gets into everything! Hell I hadn't even done the dishes that night because I didn't want to mess up my nails and they were already looking like I'd had them done a week before. Ultimately they polish did not last the 10 days I was told it would, it lasted like 4 before they were chipped and ugly. My toe polish (just normal polish) lasted about 10 days but it just looked streaky and weird. And my eyebrows and lip were swollen for 2 days and also broken out for over a week from the wax. These girls got it going on! I mean, they make my solar nails look real! My nails are so paper thin that I need HELP! I give them five stars because I've had great service every time. I have been coming here since they opened. It's clean and inviting. The girls speak pretty good English-but I don't care about that crap as long as they treat me right. I have never had to wait-they get me right in. It's in a small strip mall near a pizza place called Saconies and by a Sonic. I saw the reviews about this place so I went ahead and came here. I was immediately taken in and the nail tech started to do my nails. I was very confused as to why she only filled my nails but didn't cut my cuticles, but I let that go. I told her I wanted SnS nails so she went through the whole process.. basically my nails turned out to be a disaster. Half of my nails are crooked and have lumps. A few of my nails aren't painted(powdered) all the way and she glued my skin to my nail and as she was filling them down she was cutting into my skin. I also had a concern about one of my nails being to wide and when I asked her to fix it she got upset and try to say it was because of my real nail. All in all I am very disappointed, I cried on my way home, I will never go here again as I felt rushed and not welcomed at all and now in pain. read more

I'm not sure what you gals are seeing here, but I didn't have a great experience and I tried twice! The first time the gal literally hurt me. She was too rough and seemed inexperienced. I also had a very difficult time talking to her because she spoke bad English. I went for a solar fill and she did a fair job, but she stabbed my cuticles three times, burned me twice and giggled each time I squeaked. Last time I had a lady with slighter better (but still not great) English. She did a better job and wasn't as rough, although I wouldn't call her gentle.... But, my fill finish was "American" not French as requested and I didn't realize it until 3 nails were done. She also made my nails very square, which I hate, but I simply could not get her to understand that I wanted them more rounded. They were also overly thick. I was in Austin last weekend and needed a mani-pedi and decided to go to Volente Nails based on the reviews. What a disappointment! Granted, it was Saturday and I did not have an appointment, I had to wait over an hour to be served. I could have lived with that if that was the only problem. Unfortunately it was not. They were so busy and so understaffed that after they sat me no one paid attention to the filling of the water and it almost overflowed. That was the beginning of the snafus. I relaxed and waited for someone to get back to me (after the water was finally turned off and drained abit) but then I noticed my feet and legs were all red & itchy. Eek! I was getting a reaction to whatever it was they put in the water. This is something that could happen to anyone, the problem was it took awhile to get attention. When I did, all they did was drain the water. My red itchy feet & legs were smarting. I started to get up to go to the bathroom to rinse, when finally the lady who was supposed to give me the pedi came over and I asked her to rinse me so whatever was reacting would be removed. Phew! Then I fin ally got clean water. I still had to wait for my pedicure. The lady next to me got fed up and left. Finally, I did get a pedi, but it was rushed. I did get a gel maniure as well. Also rushed and not very good. The highlight was getting my arms waxed (!) it was very quick! But not to take care of me, it was quick to get me out of there! The lady's are very nice, which is why they get 1 star. Don't go on Saturday and don't go without an appointment. I won't ever go back at all. read more

I used to really like this nail salon, and I see a lot of women who are obviously regulars coming in for artificial fills. I'm not one of those, but I do go for the occasional mani/pedi. Their prices are reasonable, and the techs seem friendly. It's a basic utilitarian nail salon, nothing fancy, and they leave the door open most of the time to help with dispersing the chemical smells that plague some other salons. However, my favorite nail tech left, and after trying two others, I decided to look elsewhere. The final straw was being stabbed in the toe cuticle during a pedi, and later that same day, having a tumbleweed of someone's hair blow across the floor and stick to my freshly polished toes. Not my idea of fun. They are open every day and seem constantly busy, but I think the experience really depends on your tech. read more

Overall I am generally happy with this place. I will say that the experience is dependent upon the tech who works on you. The owner is by far the best and everyone seems to know this. More often than not, I leave there with at least one nick from the drill. That is so frustrating b/c that hurts...a lot! I have gotten the pink & whites and they do a great job. I have had regular fills with paint and those are good too. I do really enjoy the pedicures though. I will still keep going here. The prices are fair and it's super convenient to me. Nail salons are hit or miss. A lot of things are hit or miss. This place is a hit. People are so nice. They work at a nice pace - fast but not rushed. Great massage, which is a given now for a pedicure, but some are half-a$$ed. Not true here. Reasonable prices and clean. Giving this place two stars. I'd give it one star, but the eyebrow wax I had with my manicure bumped it to two stars. I went to Volente Nail last week to get a shellac manicure since I'm new to the area and did not want to drive 20 miles to get a manicure. This was the only salon in the area that had a comparable price to my other salon. I've had tons of shellac manicures and they are supposed to last at least two weeks, chip-free. All the shellac manicures I've had never chipped before the two weeks, until now. The salon only had about 3 women when I went in after work on a Thursday, so not busy at all. Despite the availability, I felt very rushed during my manicure. The lady was going really fast and wasn't taking her time to make sure that everything dried correctly. The color (OPI Strawberry Margarita) came out looking fine so I didn't think twice about it. By that night, I had experienced a chip washing dishes. I just thought maybe I was a bit too aggressive with the dishes, but it's been less than a week and I've got chips on all my nails. Two of my nails have completely peeled off. Guess I'll have to stick to my old salon. Won't be coming back for a manicure, but I will come back for eyebrow waxing. Clean wax for $8 -- can't be beat. read more
