Vivint is a SCAM! Stay far away from this company. We have had vivint 1 month and in that month had multiple techs come out to "fix" the camera going off line. They would come out "fix" the issue and within minutes of the tech leaving the cameras would go off line. Vivint has NOT offered any remedy to the problem or providing any resolution. They have faulty and shitty equipment. The techs and customer service reps even tried to blame it on the internet but we have told them we have top of the line internet. The customer service reps are rude and unprofessional. When we requested to speak to a supervisor we were hung up on. They also disrespected my husband who is a U.S. Air Force veteran when how condescending they were when speaking to us. We called multiple times a day to report the cameras not working and going offline. Each time the reps were awful or put us on hold for minutes at a time. We did tell them they are not holding up their end of the contract with the shitty faulty equipment, we made it clear we are not paying a dime for an early contract termination as we are NOT PAYING for services NOT rendered. STAY FAR AWAY from Vivint, they do NOT even deserve 1 star. We are taking our business elsewhere and discussing if we should pursue legal ramifications against the company. Tried them out as the equipment was already installed on our new home. Should have just kept our SimpliSafe system as we had nothing but issues with the equipment and billing errors. We had agreed to a monthly price of $55 but they began charging $103/month for no reason. I had to call several times to get it corrected. (However still waiting for the refund of nearly $300) The doorbell always disconnected as did the outdoor camera. Save your time, energy and money and stick with a reliable system like SimpliSafe or Ring. read more

I installed 11 cameras (two separate accounts) in my brewpub. Over the year and a half it was here I had a technician out almost monthly that told me the account was unserviceable and that if I paid the $5k for the equipment, the contract would be cancelled at no charge. After two hours getting transferred all over the company, it cost me $1500 to cancel a service that never worked. Dogsh*t company, dogsh*t customer service, dogsh*t commercial application. Save your time and money if you are thinking about putting this in your business! we bought our house last year and it had the vinvint system all ready installed. We had 1 Key chain remote and no disarm code as the system was not monitored. it would sometimes get armed by accident and we had no way to disarm. we like how the systems tells us when a door or window is opening. we can tell when the kids are coming and going. so we sighed up for service and now stuck in a contract for 3 years. they will not cancel account with out full payment of contract. they came out to install a new system but only replaced the control panel. the system crashes atlas 1 to 2 times per month we have to un plug power and batteries to reset. what if we were out of town. do not fall for there service. read more

It's 8:20 at night. We have home security with another company and the sign is in our yard. A salesperson knocked on our door at 8:20pm to try to sell us your security system. This is an unacceptable business hour to randomly be knocking on doors. It's dark, women shouldn't be having to answer the door. I also have a baby that was getting ready for bed but now my dogs are barking. This way of business of yours needs some major improvement! read more

Salesman came to our home around 8:15pm and promised a full system at no charge in exchange for posting signs in the yard. He said it was going to save us over $3000 in equipment costs (he also wrote all of this down and forgot to take that page with him when he left). Installation began the same night and wasn't completed until after 1:00am!. The next morning I received an email from a bank requesting that I set up payment information on my loan. $46+ per month for 60 months, free equipment my @ss! I immediately called the company to cancel the service and mailed the cancellation form with a copy of the "promised free equipment" page he left behind. I have a scheduled appointment this week to have everything removed from my home. Hopefully this will be the end of my experience with Vivint and the last time I trust anyone selling anything. read more

The cameras and locks are useless. My ex came in uninvited and there was NO footage of him coming in. I live next to an alley and all the camera captures are cars driving by and myself turning lights on at night. We live in Centennial and multiple neighbors have been expressing the same issue. This company very aggressively solicits business door to door at inappropriate times. They are aggressive to the point of giving a predatory image. Multiple neighbors have had unsolicited visits as late as 9 pm. The younger guys soliciting ignore request to please stay away and do not take no for an answer. I have made several attempts to contact them in hopes they would limit the over aggressive sales campaign they are currently bombarding our community with. None of these requests or attempts have gained traction. No return calls from the company's representatives and if anything the volume of the activity has increased to what some are considering harassment. In regard to your follow up to my complaint I spoke with an individual claiming to be your only active salesmen in my neighborhood. He claimed that he would put me in touch with you, being his supervisor. He didn't offer any of the information you requested I provide you. So it seems as though my complaint will go unanswered as it appears blame within your company is being passed around. This complaint is in regard to the southglenn neighborhood in centennial. I do find it alarming that your management does not know who you are sending where. I did attempt to address these concerns with your salesman, again claiming he was the only one canvassing my neighborhood. I am not alone in voicing these concerns. Many other neighbors feel it inappropriate for your company to come unsolicited after dark to discuss how unsafe our homes are. Please attempt to answer the following questions. At what time do you end your unsolicited visits in the evening? I have knowledge and an admission by your own salesman that you in fact knock on doors after 9pm. Don't you believe that opening the doors to strangers after dark is not good practice? How would you feel if I came nightly to your home multiple times uninvited and late in the evening to tell you that your furnace might burn your down? read more

I can't even get a name or phone # for a supervisor? They ran a hard inquiry twice on my credit, which is ridiculous. We financed our equipment and they continued to debit my credit card? They can't get it right and it's all at my expense. No one in the customer service dept can make a decision. Very poorly managed company. The Vivint salesperson left his trash on my block. He left out a partially consumed soda can I gave him just moments prior when he was trying to sale me a home security system. I noticed because at the end of the day, I walked my dogs and found it resting on an electrical box across the street from my home. There was a dumpster just beyond that point where he could have left his trash. Perhaps he didn't know where you find a trashcan, and decided he couldn't have it on his person as he canvassed my neighborhood. For this reason, I am going to give him the benefit of the doubt, and not give him a 1 star review. I am less concerned about someone breaking into my house and MORE concerned about littering. Trash-infested neighborhoods are more likely to attract trashy personalities. Trashy personalities are more likely to bring theft and crime. Perhaps Vivint is trying to increase demand for their home security service...? read more

Just waiting until Thursday, between noon and 4 for someone to come get all the equipment. Mind you, we cancelled our "subscription" roughly 3 weeks ago, it's taking that long for someone to come get the equipment, however, your employees were more than ready to install everything at my home after dark and be there til after midnight. My concerns are not what you can do for me NOW, but how you can possibly improve your standards, work scheduling, time management through employees, and your product as a whole. Total joke of a company. Their entire business model is built around getting customers locked into a 5 year contract. It's so bad that when I was actually able to cancel their service it took multiple phone calls to even talk to someone who knew how to do it. Thankfully I pushed the installer to extend my ROR period after the messed up the first install attempt. He tried to tell me that I had 30 days to cancel and all that BS, but it's not true, you ONLY HAVE UNTIL THE END OF YOUR ROR PERIOD TO GET OUT OF THE CONTRACT. Even then it's an issue, and requires certified letters to them, and your bank to stop them from taking money. They will hound you with calls for payment when you don't even owe them money!! Not to mention they did $1000 of damage to my house during their "Professional Installation". These guys can't do anything other than plug in a camera to an outlet and staple wires all over your walls, a monkey with a set of pliers could do a better job. Even with the valid ROR it was a fight to get it canceled and Vivint violated the terms of that contract, I'm sure if it was me who had done this they wouldn't cut me any slack, but I don't have the time or the money to mess about with lawyers. Terrible service! DO NOT purchase or sign contract with this company. The absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced. Each time I call I am on the phone for 20 minutes before I get to even talk to someone, then it takes at least that long to them to figure out the issue I called for. The last time I called was to change a password and phone number because their website was not allowing me to do that online. This took them equally as long and then after the phone call neither item was updated or changed UGH! I have been with them for three years and can honestly state that I have never had a positive experience with them. I tried to cancel but they will not let you out of your contract unless you pay it off in full. Wish I wouldn't have signed it. I would not recommend this company to anyone. If you are looking got home security, KEEP LOOKING! DO NOT USE VIVINT! They will not work with you when you call. I tried and tried to be very polite and figure out a way to cancel but they will not hear it and will absolutely not work with you. Sales Reps are shady. I just had a very negative experience with Vivint. Yesterday a door to door salesman approached my wife here in Colorado and then later I joined in. He made promises repeatedly to both of us that the cost of equipment would be covered by us having a sign advertising Vivint in our yard for 5 years. This got us talking with him and we ended up going with a system. It's our fault we didn't do some research first, but afterwards we looked and saw that the prices were very inflated and in fact we WERE being charged for the equipment. We feel completely lied to, mislead, and duped. We are now in the process of having the system completely removed. But we'll never get back all the time and energy we've wasted! I give this one zero stars absolutely the worst customer service I have ever experienced. They forged the original contract to reflect 60 months vs. 36. I have called in at least 10 times to cancel service and they have continued to bill me and stated that no one entered information for a refund. They stated there is a 30 day cancellation and if I did block the last payment from the bank they turn me over to collections. I paid for 66 months and had to write them a check for the first month would should have covered the last 30 day payment. This group is awful! read more

I would give negative stars if I could. As already mentioned by quite a few the pushy sales tactics are unprofessional. However my interactions went a few steps into dangerous. I came home after dark, as I backed into the garage someone popped up in my driveway and then I was cornered in my garage by a "salesman" who started asking me about my security system. After expalining to the salesperson that I was not sure about a security system, he told me to try them out with NO OBLIGATION. He said I could cancel with their grace period and would not get charges anything. I tried it out, did not like the system, canceled within the grace period and then my headache began! I have spent hours on hold, on the phone, and on chat trying to get the system pulled. I talked to almost a dozen people who each promise the issue would be resolved. Even though I received a email confirming the cancellation, I was still getting billed. I even got an email threatening me with having to pay for the equipment because "they had tried to reach me multiple times", let's be clear NO ONE reached out to me. I finally got a hold of someone to send a tech to pull the system. To add insult to injury they billed me 193.00, for who knows what and the card they had on file was expired so no idea how they got it to go through. Spent another 2 hours tonight on the phone, was told I should get refunded but who knows how long and if that will happen! Happy some people have had a good experience with them, but as for my experience no bueno. Do better Vivint! read more

There is always an issue with the equipment not working and it take 45 minuets to an hour to speak with customer service. If they can't help you then you have to get a tech out, which they charge you for when it's their equipment not working properly. We will not be renewing when the contract is up. read more

I'm giving one star as I cannot go lower. Evan York, Vivint sales representative, came to our home on 4/30/2018. He misrepresented the sale, omitted important information, and provided misinformation. Long story short, we ended up getting Vivint home security. He and his lead, Shawn, told us about a buy out for our current home security and then said they would pay us $100 to pay off the current one. They then said they would bring that money today and never showed. We were told that the system would take 2 hours to set up - it took like 5 hours and the tech was at our home until after 11 pm. The equipment was already malfunctioning and has continued to have issues today. We were told we could cancel anytime and after the issues with the equipment and after researching this company we decided to get out quickly. We found it is a 60 month contract! We called the 'customer service' and they sent us to ROR. We spoke with Riley Neal. He was very rude and talked over us and when we decided to return that attitude and tone he hung up on us. Then when we called back and were told we still have 2 days to cancel but that department was closed now. We talked with a supervisor, Thomas Hamilton, who refused to help, other than advising us to take time off of work so that we are able to call tomorrow. Please, read the reviews for this company, the issues with the equipment going offline constantly seem to be across the board. This company's reps are rude, dishonest, manipulative and fast talkers. Don't be rushed into anything, take your time and research a I wish I would have. High pressure salesperson came to our door and proceeded to overwhelm us with an hour and a half monologue for the Vivint Security system. My spouse and I had never thought about a security system so we felt a lot of pressure to listen to all he said. In the end we signed up for the system without discussing the purchase, which was our mistake. The salesman proceeded to tell us that it could take a few days or weeks for the installation. He called his installer who by some "miracle" happened to be a couple of blocks away (right....). He showed up within 15 minutes and was working on it until close to 10pm that same night. Overnight we finally discussed the unplanned purchase and decided we DID NOT want the system. My spouse called the salesman the next morning, 14 hour after the purchase, and left a VM stating we wanted to cancel the sale and have the system removed. My spouse followed up the call with a text to the salesman. Apparently the salesman never did notify the company Vivint. That was 2 weeks ago. I have contacted the company 4 times to please remove the system. Still waiting for that to happen. I don't ever want to deal with this company again. read more

Disturbing experience by young sales guy riding a hoverboard up my driveway while I'm taking out the trash. Cornered me on my own property no face covering and no social distancing. Starts out saying he's helping out my neighbors. Poor start to pitching any product when you can't even start with what company you represent. When he revealed he was with Vivent I said I wasn't interested and he wouldn't stop. When I asked him to leave he continued to try to sell. I asked him to get off my property and he slowly moved while continuing to run his smart mouth which led to obscenities and name calling. Very unpleasant and unprofessional experience. Be careful out there. It seems others have had very bad experiences as well and each sales person makes their own pitch not consistent with company policies. read more

We are the new residents of the house, there is NO active account, so when the panel that was already here started beeping non-stop, I called the company. I was told they couldn't help me because I couldn't provide the passcode!!!! What passcode???? This isn't an active account!! So sorry she says, if you can't give me the passcode, I can't help you. OK so let me get this straight- I received a confirmation from the previous owner that she CANCELED the account, and yet she is the only one who has access to the alarm panel IN MY HOUSE???????? Read this before you sign anything! This is the worst company I have ever dealt with! The salesman showed up and offered an amazing deal. No cost for equipment and all you had to do was put their sign in your yard. After 3 hours, he mentions there is a one time installation fee. I still went ahead and just wanted to get it over with by that point. Fast forward a month... I get a 1500. Credit card bill as well as having their company take out a monthly fee. Turns out...no special deal. You are financing this equipment and you are locked in. Of course they know what they are doing so after being on the phone for over an hour and talking to 4 different people, I got the confirmation I knew was coming. I signed the paper and now I'm paying for it. I begged the supervisor to understand how deceptive the sales agent was. No dice. Obviously this happens all the time. They knew exactly what to do. Pretty sad that your company is so bad that you have to scam people into becoming customers. As far as Covid, not the salesman, nor the installation tech wore a mask. I should have known something was wrong. Hindsight is 20/20. PS When I asked "customer service" why would anyone agree to put an ugly orange sign in their yard besides to save money she replied, " because they are so happy with our service". Wow!!! I spent 30 minutes waiting for technical support and when I finally was put through to an agent she was unable to help me so they had to escalate it to advanced technical support which was 30 more minutes on hold. ( in the mean time I called the sales number and I had a live person on the first ring who was unfortunately not able to help me or help me bypass the wait.) After I finally got through to adv. tech. support they were unable to troubleshoot the problem! After an HOUR AND A HALF of my time they assessed they needed to send a tech to my home...in the next 10 days they had one time available that was MAYBE going to work for me. At that point i asked them to pick up their stuff and cancel my service. They told me that was another department and their wait time to talk to someone was significant as well. So basically I am paying $60 a month with a system that does not work and I have spent TOO much time trying to get help!!! Just paid $900 to "pay off" equipment that does not work to be able to cancel my contract! DO NOT trust them! People that answer the phones are super nice but do not have tools or empowerment to help you! read more

Do not use this company whatsoever. They do not service their equipment with any urgency. My doorbell camera has been out for 3 weeks now an cannot get anyone out to fix it. They want a 4 hour window and do not work weekends. So basically you need to take a good part of the day off for service. Response to Vivint I called 5 times, the Vivint app or the did not say much on emailing. Basically if I want it fixed, I have to take off work a 1/2 a day and now it will be 1 month since it stopped working. The fourth time I talked to a manager and still nothing. I finally found someone to do it this week but I am still happy with all this and definitely not recommend Vivint until there is a shake up in the tech support department. read more

Two years later, and this company is still a joke. Customer service is useless and clueless. I received four voicemails in an afternoon that I needed to call them back, and when I finally did, it took me to a phone tree where my specific issue was not listed. So I explained my issue, and got transferred three times. With each transfer I had to give my name, phone number, password, and explain the issue. Avoid this company at all costs. The alarm is junk too. Half the time the app doesn't work, the panel freezes, or has error messages. If you call customer support, they are just as baffled. I saw through my screen door two men standing on my porch, looking at iPads and not ringing doorbell. I went out on the porch (as my dogs barking inside) and asked what they were selling, but they did not give me a straight answer. I thought it impertinent that one addressed me by my first name which they probably had just picked up from county records. I asked again what they were selling and got the same results. I told them I didn't have time for this and went inside. Then they repeatedly rang the doorbell. My daughter went onto the porch and called after the fellows that they should respect people's privacy. They yelled back that they were "cutting" our "lines." Yah, sure. Vivint has some fancy tools and advertises customer service. In reality, it is overly expensive, emergency services are not discharged upon an alarm and there are many better products available. The trip charges particularly annoying, they are at a charge to the customer; $49 copay between the customer and vivint even if the product was installed wrong or the equipment fails. The customer service representatives are very friendly but it's a toss up if you will get one that is actually helpful. They repeat the same lines over and over and are obviously reading from a script. I do give them a lot of credit for staying so positive when talking with people about this expensive low performing product. DON'T get into this trap. Horrible system and company - only giving one star because it's not possible to give less. We signed up for service on 14 July; as of 2 August our system has yet to be installed completely or correctly. Vivint attempts to sign new customers as quickly as possible followed by installation. Our installation attempt lasted until almost 11 pm when the techs wanted to test the system to troubleshoot.. while children were sleeping. Major components, including door lock, were unavailable, they promised they would be by promptly the next business day to install. Multiple attempts made to get system complete and still no luck, they claim they are too busy. We have 1 camera inoperative, 1 filming upside down and other major components of the system we paid for not even present. During installation, techs tracked dirt through the house, walked over masonry work I had just hours prior completed and left dust and debris from drilling all through the house.. they didn't bring a vacuum but borrowed ours to clean up. Go with someone else besides Vivint.  Seriously, anyone else. Update: it's now 2 Aug, I finally got a manager to call me yesterday afternoon. 2/4 cameras working, still don't have the gear I paid for 14 July. I took the day off on 30 July to get install finished.. an hour after appointment time I got one call & one text saying "running behind". 4 hours later I finally gave up, losing an entire work day. I could not get one individual at Vivint to provide any update or info; once they sign you up, on to sign up more and they don't care about you. Vivint provided their standard canned response below but did not attempt contact; each attempt to simply get the service they signed me up for working failed. Every time we call they try to upgrade us to a longer service plan. They charge for EVERYTHING. Any new equipment, or simple things like key fobs, you will pay a lot of money. Not worth it. First the SP told me he will offer free service if i put their signs in my yard. He wanted to look at my thermostat so i let him in. Then he came up with $3,000 worth of free equipments for monthly fee of some 100 plus dollar and will go down to around $60 after a year. He insisted his tech will come about 10 pm that day and he will work all night till morning if i wanted that deal. He latter admitted that the equipments installment price was added in my monthy fee for first 12 months. SP was not being honest from the beginning. read more

I have had this for several years and it is the worst. The customer service stinks, lied during installation, and the app is buggy at best. The latest issue is trying to save more that a 5 minute clip from my camera DVR. called customer service, guess what you cant. I caught a crime that happened at a neighbors that lasted longer than 5 minutes and I want to give that information to the police. Guess what you can't, and there support just tried to tell me how to use the app over and over again, even after explaining time and time again I already could get a 5 minute clip. I needed to get more than that. Very expensive, and terrible service. Steer clear. read more
