Service is security alarm, the quality is as expected and the service is good. I recommend.

Had service for a cpl yrs while traveling. The last 7-8 yrs the traveling has stopped and decided that the system wasn't needed. A rep came out a +year ago, I gave her the information, and after several sale pitches and my consistent response of "Not interested" she punched in a cpl of numbers on the security pads and said no problem and left. Last week the power went out and every time the door to the garage was opened a chime/chirping went off in two of the security pads. I was one the phone w/ADT for over an hour today trying to get help. I was transferred from "technical services" to SAlES who told me I had a balance for over a hundred dollars and kept trying so sell more services. I told"Rich" in sales/accounting I had not gotten a bill in 8 years!!! I spent 20 minutes telling Rich I WAS NOT INTERESTED IN ANOTHER SUBSCRIPTION WITH ADT, he said it would take about 30 days for the service to be disconnected, and was finally transferred BACK to "FAY" in Technical services (?) Another 20 minutes being told they could NOT send a service rep out until to help with chirping the bill was paid and it would cost another +$100.00 for a rep to come out. Instead "Fay" in technical services wanted me to get a screw drive and a step ladder and find the transformer and battery in the basement to disconnect it myself.!!! read more

Their service call fee minimum is that of a mechanic, even for doing something as simple as changing a battery. If you change the battery yourself, they say the equipment was tampered with and that's a separate fee. If you want to cancel your service, do it 30 days before your contract ends, otherwise they charge you for the next 30 days. I called when they told me to-June 19th, which was when my contract was set to terminate. They should have told me to call May 19th. Anyway, they're scheißers. Oh, and Tammlar Holloway is the RUDEST and most ignorant sounding representative. I would not want her representing my company with her lack of professionalism. When I asked to speak to her supervisor, she lied and stated she is the supervisor. After she hung up on me, I called back. She never answered, but what do you know... I got a supervisor and they had NO IDEA who she is. She also gave me some address that I could "write to if l wanted to speak to a manager". Stay away from them! I had a terrible experience with ADT. Before scheduling the service, customer service clearly told us that the charge would be $59.99 for a technician to come out and replace a camera after we completed troubleshooting over the phone. At no point did anyone explain that we would be charged hundreds of dollars more for the camera replacement. When the technician arrived, he replaced the camera, completed the work, and asked us to sign a document that appeared to simply acknowledge that the service had been completed. He then told us to contact the billing department to have the additional charges removed. After receiving the bill, I called multiple times trying to resolve the issue. Each time I got a different explanation. Eventually, I spoke with an accounting manager, and the experience was shocking. She was rude, dismissive, and unwilling to listen. Instead of helping, she simply told me the replacement was not covered and that I had to pay the charges. The biggest problem is that nobody informed us beforehand that replacing the camera would result in additional charges of over $600. If we had been told the true cost, we could have made an informed decision. The lack of transparency feels dishonest and misleading. Between the unexpected charges, conflicting information from employees, and poor customer service, this has been one of the worst experiences I've had with a service company. Update: they made it right after this review. We received a phone call from ADT asking if we would like to renew our contract. We said yes then realized we haven't used ADT for years. We called back and reversed our permission to have a contract with them explaining that we should have been cancelled years ago. We were told that we could not be refunded the monthly charge as they could not find a cancellation but that there would not be a contract cancellation fee because we called before the contract took effect. We then got a bill with a contract cancellation fee which they refused to remove when we called. They are preying on an elderly woman. read more

If you're shopping for a home security system, stay away from ADT. We've been with them for a little over 3 years now. About a year and a half ago, we upgraded systems so we could move to their SVR camera system that records 24/7. They locked us into a contract until 2025... which didn't seem horrible because we live in a terrible neighborhood, we need a security system, we're never *not* going to have a security system, and honestly - how often do you shop for all new security equipment? We had cameras before with ADT. All same placement. One out by our cars. With the new 24/7 SVR recording system, they had to install all-new cameras. With that, the camera out by the cars doesn't work. It never stays connected. I'm on the phone with ADT nearly monthly. Today's call was nearly 2 hours. They've sent technicians probably around 10 times. They blame it on us every time. "You shouldn't have a camera that far away from your router." Well it worked with the old system, and also - we aren't install technicians. Last week I called again. The camera isn't working. The SVR device isn't working. Nothing is working. They sent another tech. HOWEVER - the agent told me that this time, if they couldn't fix it, they would refund me for all the cameras and let us out of our contract. SUCCESS! Well, it all stopped working again. So I called today. I was told, essentially, I was lying. "It's your word against ours." Literally. That's what he said. I asked if the calls are recorded. Yes. For quality assurance purposes. So I asked him to pull the call. He said they don't do that except under legal order. I asked to speak to a supervisor. He said he would be happy to listen to the call but no matter what he heard, nobody at ADT, at any level, has any way to honor what she told me. So here we are. We're stuck paying ADT until 2025 for equipment that doesn't work. So, don't. Don't deal with ADT. Because once you're in, they don't care if your equipment works or not. And to make it worse, they can tell you anything on a recorded call to make you happy and then deny it. read more

If I could give zero stars I definitely would. ADT is not meeting its expectations as a business, nor is it the stellar performing security system I agreed to. I had just got approved for a home loan. I have never been able to purchase my own home. At the time, my 19 year old daughter was pregant, with a new baby on the way. I had to buy a home to accommodate their needs, to make them feel safe. So, I did not have a lot of time to research the neighborhood. I bought a beautiful home, equipped with all new appliances, furnace, etc. I needed us all to feel secure. I purchased the ADT security system in May 2023 in anticipation of having a sense of relief and security. When it was installed, it was not long after I had to call the same man that installed it to completely replace the equipment as a lightning storm had completely destroyed it. This was from a dealer. He told me with storms it can be taken out. That was my first red flag. Then not long after, maybe a few months , it happened yet again. This was past the initial warranty, but ADT offered to cover the cost of the maintenance visit. So again, someone came out and replaced the entire unit. It lasted merely a month or so. The batteries were replaced, a new unit. I NEED to feel safe in my home with a daughter and granddaughter. There was a shooting on the corner of my road. I had a neighbor murdered and shot. I have reported my neighbors repeatedly as suspicious drug dealers. I have already lost a child. I cannot lose my daughter and my granddaughter. I paid over $2,000 for a security system that did not live up to their name. That did not provide the sense of security that I needed. I have found a system that is installable. The equipment is only $109 and subscription lasts 1 year. The battery stays charged for 2 years. The picture is in color and is as clear as the TV i watch. Why would no one tell me that the contract was for 3 years? Why would I pay for a breach of contract when it was never legitimate. I never had a sense of security. I never felt safe in my own home. Sleepless nights, worrying whether we would be safe. I am not paying for the breach of contract. In fact I should be refunded for all those months ADT did not fullfill their obligation to protect me and my little family. I will do whatever is necessary to protect my family and my credit. I will put out reviews daily if necessary until this is resolved to my satisfaction. Shame on you, shame on you ADT for not providing its customers the security we need and to gouge people that serve you and your needs. Every person I have interacted with tells me to stay away from ADT, now I will be that voice. And I will review and resend this until I am relieved of this burden. read more

Our panel died a couple years after install. I tried to talk to someone about it, but getting ahold of an actual person was impossible. Eventually I believed we were no longer being charged. Wrong. 3 years later I just received a call (and now I've received a call daily) asking for back payment! One rep (after about 1.5 hrs on the phone) said she'd cancel past due charges and get system working. I was fine with that - but then system DIDNT work. Fire department had to break into our house for no reason. I still can't get anyone to actually look at system (they had ME wore it!) and after so many conversations- no one can call me back that can actually help. Instead I get a new person calling me about my past due payment on a system I apparently was paying for years even though adt admitted they hadn't received a signal from the house in years. ADT is a corrupt company that has blatantly robbed me in my own home and refused to take accountability. I initially had services installed in October 2023, we then had a big renovation completed in our home and had to temporarily suspend services and take down a few sensors. Fast forward to June of 2024, I called ADT and requested that a technician come out to reinstall my sensors. The technician that came to my home told me that I needed to buy new sensors because mine were outdated (Mind you, they were not even a year old) I was charged over $700. I later found out and was told by an ADT customer service representative that my Initial equipment was in fact not outdated and the representative confirmed that I was charged for the SAME EXACT equipment that I already had in my possession. I have been dealing with this issue now for over 2 months, trying to get these charges reversed and ADT has failed to take any accountability. Instead, I have been redirected to multiple different departments and have spent countless hours just repeating my story to people that have not provided any resolution. ADT is a complete scam. At this point my next step is taking this company to small claims court because they have wasted enough of my time and I will not sit back and be a victim of their criminal ways! Very rude customer service. Very bad service Not good experience As a new customer, I requested a security system with floodlight cameras, but they told me I needed to bring my own electrician for the installation. They didn't inform me of this until the technician was at our house to install other sensors and regular cameras. We decided to return the floodlight cameras within a week after the technician completed the installation because we didn't want to pay extra fees for the installation. ADT Pulse's rude management not only refused my request for the return or even replacements, but they also tried to sell me another regular camera. Be sure to carefully read your contract and check the monthly fees--they try to lock you into the highest monthly rate, contrary to what's advertised. If you still want to cancel, they will bill you for an additional 30 days for the cancellation to take effect, They don't tell you this when you are cancelling. If we could give a zero or negative number, we would. We were loyal customers of ADT for 26+ years. We decided to move to a new home, and when we sold we called and cancelled. Well, here comes the sales pitch: "Oh, your new home needs us, especially after being such loyal customers! Besides, you will be getting 26 years and 4 months of credits!" Me: "What credits? We've never heard of these?" Jump to 5 minutes later... "Let's set up a quote for your new home. With the credits you'll get free installation and $39 per month for the service." We said "Great!" A few days later the salesman comes out and says, "There are no such things as credits, and $39 a month will only give you 1 door alert." He then goes on to quote us $75 per month, PLUS installation! We said no. Jump to one week later: we receive a bill from ADT for $64+ because we didn't give 30 days notice to cancel! WHAT?!?! I purchased ADT blue for the safety of my family and main reason safety of my little one that is special needs and a flight risk. I purchase the package and was NEVER in the 3yr contract able to use my door bell or other things I was promised. When I called they said they couldn't send anyone out to help so I paid for geek squad to come out and the equipment STILL didn't work, the only thing that did work was the door tabs that I would know if anyone was to come in or out. Once I signed the contract even though the equipment would not work properly at my location I still had to pay for it, so for three years it was around $2,000 down the drain, they were rude, horrible customer service and would HIGHLY RECOMMEND DO NOT DO ADT BLUE. This company is very dishonest, with illegal and unethical practices. My original agreement and contract was with Ackerman Security, which ADT bought them out about a year ago. My contract expired in May of 2023, but ADT continued to withdraw money from my account. When I contacted ADT via their online chat & by phone on 08/25/2023 and 10/06/2023, I was told to call 800-238-2727 to totally cancelled out and not be charged maintenance fees. I was left on hold for about 25 minutes, and the phone hung up. I called back, and was left on hold 41 minutes, and the phone just hung up again. I reached back out to ADT via the online chat, and was still given the run-around. Then ADT sent a bill in the mail to me for $45.58. ADT isn't getting a darn dime of it. There is not a way to cancel on line, not a way by chat, not a way by phone, and they give customers the run-around who call in. ADT and other companies do this on purpose to continue to exploit and steal from customers. We need to put a stop to it. I wrote my Congressmen, and the State Attorney General. We've had ADT for over a decade. In that amount of time we've had no real problems with them, but this morning I'm ready to cancel the "service". I was baking. We have a new range and I'm still feeling out timing things. Long story short, I burned part of what I was baking and set off the smoke detectors, one of which is linked to our ADT system. I called them immediately to inform them that it was a false alarm and to not send the fire department. I never got confirmation that they canceled the call - I assume they did as the trucks aren't here by now - but what I did get was a 30+ minute sales pitch about "upgrading" our system to cut down on "annoying false alarms". We have had exactly three false alarms in the 10+ years we've been with them, all our fault and all but one canceled by us immediately. I couldn't shut the guy up on his sales pitch to make sure the fire call was canceled! Then he transferred me to a local vendor to give me a quote on an upgrade. While I was on hold for the transfer, I hung up. So he called me back! Then I sat on the phone for another 20 minutes with the local vendor giving me the sales pitch about the "upgrade". I finally got a word in edgewise and told him we weren't interested in upgrading, we just wanted to make sure the fire department wasn't sent on a wild goose chase. Beware.... I called to cancel my service with ADT. The person i spoke to said in order to continue with the cancellation, i would need to pay the balance due for the equipment. I agreed and she took my credit card information/money. That was April 2024. In Feb 2025 they tried to collect the monthly payment. When i called to let them know i had already cancelled my svc, they said it was never cancelled and they used the $ i gave them toward the monthly payments and because the $ ran out, they were trying to collect. And if i wanted to cancel i would have to pay the balance for the equipment again. They would not cancel my service cause the rep who first took my call never cancelled the service. Yes not my fault but it took me over an hour on the phone and fight them to finally agree to show my service was cancelled as of April and not charge me anymore. Don't. Just don't. Use Ring or some other system. Was a customer for five years. At some point I got a deceptive email asking for me to lock in a continuing rate (what it had always been). I did not realize I was restarting the contract period and now that I am cancelling, I have to pay out the remainder of the contract. Customer service is torture. High pressure sales. Understand if you go with this company how long the contract period is and the penalty payment if you move. Thirty days to cancel, just FYI. The company can do better, but it won't. What a messed up company this is. They are so far behind the level of technology and service in this day and age it is pathetic. Their billing departments are separate for different services and they don't communicate or document what one person does on an account so that others see it. The Web site is like your grandma's floral wall paper from the 80's. You can't do much with it and it's very boring. They are well over priced for service and saying "service" is a misleading idea. ADT gets a 1.5 star rating in 48 on-line reviews so far posted. Believe it or not, that's way too high. It deserves a zero rating but we all know you can't give a zero so a 1 star rating is a gift and means that their 1.5 star review is 50% higher than it really should be. But as for new info, here's the update: I got on-line to cancel our contract now that its up for renewal, but here's what you learn on-line . . . that is after you finally find the itty-bitty tab that has to do with cancellation. Hey, you can't cancel on-line even if you provide your super duper secret password and your spouse's password and your account number and your telephone number and your address and . . . (so you get what's going on here right?). OK, ya gotta call. So you call and you go through the telephone number stuff, the address stuff, etc., and then they tell you that you are going to have to be transferred to the "Cancellation Department." Uh huh . . .. So you get transferred to that mythical (?) department but not before waiting for more than 5 minutes of listening to repeated messages about how terrible it will be not to have ADT coverage . . . yada yada yada. Then you finally get connected to Magic Mike the Cancellation Guru. OK now we're on to something you think. MM asks you for your address, telephone, your DeCon 5 security codes and bingo presto zippity zap . . . you're told that your spouse has to call. You (=me) can't do it. Really ADT? Really? You knew this from the get go and you put me through all that waste of time just to tell me what you certainly knew or could have seen from minute 1 of my call that I wasn't the "right" person to cancel the service (even though I'm the guy who worked with the installation part of your crew and have all the security info). I was a customer with ADT for over 18 years. During that time, I would receive calls if there were any problems concerning my landline system. When I decided to change my service to a wireless service, the price was so high, I couldn't afford it. I really thought I canceled the service...they said I didn't. To my fault, I hadn't noticed that ADT had been billing me for 2 full years at $44.56/month. When I spoke to an "upper management" representative, Bobby Rodgers, and asked what had they been monitoring as their representative told me (24) months ago to "just disconnect the alarm and since I no longer had a land line there wouldn't be anything to monitor". What has ADT been doing for me the last 24 months? I asked why hadn't they sent me something in the mail notifying me of a connection problem since they weren't receiving any signal from my home. My question is "What Were you monitoring? Didn't you see a problem? The latest thing i received from them in the mail was a bill for this month. I moved back to Colorado and resigned my security services with ADT in Oct 2022 - they installed 3 google cameras, a panel and several door sensors all of which they charged me approx 1200 dollars for. They offered interest free financing for what they call the "install" which includes the equipment and installation of the equipment. May of 2023 we decided to move and I contacted ADT and was working with their sales rep, Tyler Long. First thing I asked is should I remove our old equipment and bring it to the new location as I just purchased it and I am still paying for it. Tyler told me know that it needs to stay at the old house but ADT will take care of it. I told him that I was impressed and excited that ADT would do that. ADT comes and installs the new equipment at the new location (same cameras, panel and sensors). Signed me up for a new approx. 1200 dollars in cost and interest free financing. The installer even tells me they will take care of the old cost on the equipment. 2 months in I notice they are charging me for the old and new equipment. I call them talked to a young lady who said she would take care of it. Another month goes by and I am still getting charged and I call back and I am told they will take care of it and some will call me the next day to confirm. 2 months later I call and a gentlemen tells me sorry I need to pay for it. I ask to speak to a supervisor and I get Daniella - I tell Daniella why would buy new cameras and a panel if I can simply unplug them and bring them with me? She agrees and tells me she will get it handled and call me tomorrow. She never calls me. ***HIGHLIGHT*** I email my original sales rep, Tyler Long, and tell him I might be moving and want to talk him about a relocation package. I ask Tyler the same questions - should I take my current equipment? Tyler tells me no, will work you another install package for you for the new house. I tell him thats what you told me last time and I am still paying for both. I asked what about the cameras? He finally tells me he is not supposed to tell me this but I can take the cameras (3 x 300 dollars each) but the panel and sensors needs to stay at the house due warranty. I ask him why he didn't tell me that before when I asked him - He proceeds to tell me that ADT does not want him to tell us that bc they cant make any money. I also learned the installer (most are contract workers) wont come out if the cant make enough on the project. The panel is a Honeywell and all of the sensors are remote. They charge over 500 dollars for the panel and sensors and they can simply be removed and taken to the new house there is no need for it to stay at the current location. However, it benefits them to keep the panel there for the new home owner. I recorded the entire conversation with Tyler. These guys are knowingly and actively trained to lie/omit to scam you into buying the same things more than once. This is my first stop, google review, BBB and attorney general will be next. I have told ADT they are not longer authorized to bill me credit card for any charges until this is corrected. I hope this complaint falls into the correct person's hands. On 12/30/2023 I received an email that my payment did not go through. It was alarming for two reasons; one I had changed the debit card number online and two I spoke with someone via chat either 12/27/2023 or 12/28/2023 and asked for my draft date to be changed. Neither time was I informed that it would take 30 days for both things to take place. My account was hacked 12/26/2023, my attempt was to be proactive with information and change the draft to the date I knew that the funds would be available. So, when I received the email was alarming and a little irritated because I just had this conversation twice. Any who I called in, and spoke to Juan (agent ID 11311811), Juan was overly annoying and incompetent. I explained to Juan the situation and Juan continued to tell me that he could process a payment from the card on file or a new card. Eventually I requested to speak with a manager, he tells me that the manager is busy and that my call did not warrant a manager because "He told me what could be done" now this sent me into overdrive because one I have many, many years of call center experience, you cannot tell a customer they cannot speak to manager. The manager is there to manage. If a manager was not available, take my information and have someone call me back but to refuse to allow me to speak to a manager was like adding lighter fluid to a wildfire. I was baffled and I eventually put Juan on hold. I called from another phone and spoke to another young lady, who advised she could see the new card on file, and that she could schedule the payment to be drafted the 8th of the month. Simple enough request. We are not screaming and honestly no manager was needed because she was able to comprehend and find resolution. I never had this happen. I have never missed a payment. I never call for help. You rarely have to call me about my alarm going off. But at this point if my account is not valuable, I can just cancel the service and let it be. $49.99 is not worth the hassle of being treated rudely because my account was hacked. I cannot control the fact that my account was hacked but like a responsible adult, I tried to cover my basics. This was the worst customer service I have experienced in a very long time. It was more of the fact that Juan refused to transfer the call. He could not help. Would not help. And then refused to get someone that could help. This is an unnecessary complaint. Do better. I called to cancel ADT service last week. I have other plans for my home security. It was a horrible experience asking to cancel. It took about an hour of holding and the lady I spoke with trying to coerce me into a new plan. Yesterday, I received a bill in the mail for a NEW plan. I would give them zero stars if I could. Ive been paying each month but was recently told that their system hasn't been monitoring my alarm for at least a year. Tried to get me to sign a 3 yr contract with payment by debit from my bank acct. and lied about monthly charge if I upgrade. Im going to sue to get back all that I have paid for services they did not provide. I'll be sending letters to the CEO, better business burea, NYS attorney general and everyone else I can think of . We all know too well that a low rating or fake review can be a problem for ANY business. As a matter of fact 94% of people in society say "they will avoid a business because of a negative online review. A staff of a person lying to you is REALLY disrespecting you. As a long time customer with ADT afflicted with USAA as a former enlisted soldier and military officer I have earned my just dues. Therefore, one would think that ADT would have no reason to LIE to me. They have employees motivated by lying for personal gain and advantage over their competitors. I called ADT several times in an attempt to upgrade the video camera system at my residence. I have never experienced such a horrible customer service experience. It is the worst service that ANY one will face. The representatives used deceitful methods by putting me on long waits for answers, attempting to sell me the wrong equipment, knowingly and purposely routing me to the wrong representative, and terminating telephone conversations after they are confronted with the truth. Since ADT offers perks with being a USAA membership I called the executive office to make a complaint. Mr. Muhammad contacted ADT officials in reference to the poor customer service that had and continues to be rendered to me. He stated that a representative from ADT would be in contact with me in the coming days. ADT Representative Jerry called me and said a technician would be in contact to arrange the services. A follow-up telephone conversation was conducted to schedule the technician arrival. A third telephone conversation had to be made to Jerry because the technician NEVER called me. During the conversation he said had told him he had called me. I informed Jerry that "Todd had told him a LIE." The continuous webs of lies and deceit by ADT representatives has become second natural. Being the status quo of the oldest company in a market doesn't mean you have the best service. It actually means you are getting the worst representatives for job security and a paycheck. read more

I called two times to just ask questions about their services. Both representatives wouldn't even answer my questions about monitor fees. They wanted information I do not give over the phone. I was considering ADT but after the second call, I was frustrated and then looked here to see the reviews. Well, the reviews are NOT good. I will pass on this company and take my business elsewhere. read more

Don't do adt. They are the worse. They don't fix there equipment. There's always something wrong. Very hard to speak with anyone. And if you do they will transfer to the proper people. Who still can't help. It's just a bunch of back and forth with no solutions. read more
