Best cheesesteak sandwiches in the state of Utah. We are sad that we don't live in Bountiful anymore to go here... But we always made it a priority to come here at least once a month if not... 5x a month! It's cash only on the honor system and only open for lunch.. so you have to fit it into your schedule and make it a priority to go here. As much as I enjoyed the sandwich, I can't, in all honesty, write this review without referencing the elephant in the room and that is the Moochie's juggernaut. Is this the equal to that mighty, worthy behemoth? No, and to my knowledge, there are no other contenders I haven't yet tried. I will note that the great Moochie's jalapeno sauce helps considerably and having some nice sides doesn't hurt, either. That now out of the way... A comparison is sort of unfair (though inevitable) because is a different kind of place, basically a one man show. The guy (I'm assuming he's Vito) is a dynamo and deserves all of the acclaim coming his way. In many ways, this is the shining star, the crown jewel of Bountiful eateries, where the guy makes stunning sandwiches (until he runs out) that are high in both quantity and quality, to the point where it is impossible to eat it like an actual sandwich and one has to resort to utensils. I would paint this as borderline outstanding. It is more its own thing, but there are a lot of menu choices that were equally as tempting. Parking is kind of a pain, the place is small and the cash only thing is bothersome and what really put me off for quite a while, even after being excited by MC Free's glowing commentary, but it's well worth it to hit the ATM or grocery store first. I think there *may* also be an ATM in the place itself... If you're serious about sandwiches, particularly cheese steaks, you definitely owe it to yourself to come try this guy's frequently novel (and definitely delicious) spin on things. We showed up for a late birthday lunch around 1:20, but saw a sign saying they were sold out. A nice woman came to the door, informed me that they have two sandwiches left and that he would still make it for us if we'd like them. Feeling entitled due to it being my birthday lunch, I accepted and he quickly made us two very delicious sandwiches and threw in a Rice Krispie Treat...just because it was my birthday. This place was a great find! Had a job down in bountiful for a few days and wanted to try some local eats! This was amazing! Food had large proportions and was priced good for the amount of food(you get chips and a drink with all sandwiches)! There is an atm! Honestly the best philly I've ever had and I love phillys. I was a little nervous to get jalapeños because I'm not a big fan of fresh/raw jalapeños but they came out pickled and they were great. This place has the perfect amount of flavor and grease to their Philly. It's enough to make it super flavorful but not so much that it's gross. The jalapeño sauce was the best I've ever had. It's cash only and you put your money in the box and take your own change. It's pretty weird but it works. If you can make it here during their weird hours it's definitely worth it. I have to write an update. Yeah the sandwiches are great but if you cannot get one there not so good. My last four attempts to get A Vito's sandwich ended in failure. The challenge, supply and demand combined with restrictive hours. Vito's is only open Monday-Friday 11-2 this means I will probably never be able to bring the wife here. Even if you get there when they are open there is no guarantee of getting food, the lines can be long and they run out of food on a regular basis, thus my 4 attempts and no food. read more

But having been there multiple times now, it's the kind of place that is so tasty, you don't mind making yourself available to accommodate their hours. Vito's is amazing. I mean seriously. Probably the best cheese steak not in philly, maybe better. Cash only, lunch only. Huge portion for what you pay and the food is out of this world good. My favorite is to come here and order a 14 inch and split it with a friend. Crazy good spot. Literally cannot stay away from it. Once you try it, you get addicted. ONCE AGAIN it's CASH ONLY! Great sandwich with a lot of flavor. There was a ton of bread and it was a little chewy but other than that, the sandwich was amazing! I had the blue cheese philly and also put the jalapeño sauce on it - definitely recommend that. The place has a unique payment system which was a little confusing for first timers. There's no cash register, you just put your money in a jar on the counter and you grab your chips and drink over to the side. They have a Coke soda fountain or some other canned options in a fridge.
