We've been going to Vito's since the food truck in the parking lot days. Always fresh, delicious and filling. It's so fun that the Vito's permanent location is so close to where we'd stand in line at his food truck. Great location, but be aware that it's first come first serve. We got in line around 1 PM one day- and were some of the last people served because the food ran out. Vito is very good about letting you know if he thinks you might not get a sandwich, but we saw a few disappointed faces waiting "just in case" who missed their chance for a Philly. The quality of my meal was fantastic and watching g someone make it in front of you really sets this apart. Fresh, flavorful, and great ratios, this really is a great place. Was quite a line inside but it moved pretty quickly even when the cook was also the person taking your order. Ordered the mushroom cheesesteak. Mushrooms were added on top (I do wish it was adders tot eye steak, onions and peppers for a few seconds). Sandwich was huge but so flavorful. A bag of chips and drink are also factored into the price. Cash or check only. They do not accept credit or debit cards. As others have mentioned, it's "honor system" when you're paying and if you need to make change. If you have exact amount, you're much better off. Vito's Cheesesteaks are pretty amazing and it was everything I hoped for. This quick service restaurant was very unique not only with their food, but their payment system as well. This is a cash only establishment and even if you are not prepare with cash, they have an ATM readily available. The payment system made me laugh a bit as there is no cash register and Vito operates as the cashier, chef, and owner amongst many other roles. When you go up to order, he is extremely nice and takes your order, then tells you the total. You drop $20, $50, $100, and checks in the cash "hole" and anything less goes into the glass dish. If any change needed, you grab it yourself out of the dish (including quarters!) and it's on the honor system to not take more than you should (he's also watching ;) ) The orders came out fast and fresh - so incredibly delicious!! We ordered the classic Philly and the Roasted Garlic Philly - both amazing. The bread is from Stoneground Bakery and the meat was seasoned really well. Each sandwich comes with a bag of chips and soft drink that you fill at the soda machine. The rest of the staff was very friendly and attentive to refilling chips, cups, napkins, etc.. There is also a sign that asks customers to buss their own table, which I didn't mind as they give you the sanitizing spray to wipe down the table. Would recommend over and over again! I used to get out to Philadelphia once every month or so on business and since then I have been on a search for a real Philly cheesecake. Vito's is the best I have found so far iuside of yhe greater Philadelphia area. If you have developed a taste for genuine cheese steaks from the Philadelphia area this is your place. The real secret to a great cheese steak is the bread. This bread is spot on. Anyone with some practice can do the beef and peppers and onions with quality supplies, but very, very few ouside the Philadelphia area get the bread right.
