A few months back I bought the Benjamin Moore paint in Smoke. I had used this color in the past and loved it. But something is off on the Benjamin Moore calibration machines because the color I received is not the true smoke color. Picture provided shows the one on the right to be a powdery light blue rather than the color on the left which is the true smoke color. When I brought the can back to the store Ray told me that some of the Benjamin Moore colors were coming out wrong. He was willing to take the paint back - until I shared I had waited two months to paint. Problem #1, it did not matter if I waited 30 days or 60 days to paint. The Benjamin Moore calibration of color was off. They should stand behind their product. Ray even told me I could not re-buy the paint because the machine would still produce the wrong color. Problem #2, Ray took my name and number and said they would call me to resolve the problem. They have never called. It has been 10 days. Benjamin Moore and Catalina paint did not stand behind their word to call nor their product quality. That is a lack of integrity and very poor customer service. Thankfully I was able to go to another company altogether and have them color match it beautifully.

They are well stocked with supplies. There is a table to spread stuff out on that really comes in handy when comparing color swatches and taking photos of possible combinations. Best of all, the staff are so friendly, helpful, and down to earth. If you need to quietly browse over and over (paint is so tricky to get right), they give you the space to do that. If you need a lot of hands-on help, they will absolutely do that too. One time I came in with such a long list of specific color chips to find. Two people went to work pulling the chips for me. I thought I would be in there for a couple hours searching for all those chips. They got it done in 15 minutes! Thanks Catalina Paints!!!

He was amazing at locating the chips that matched my description and whipped up some samples to go. At the last minute I remembered that I also needed a quart of my current home's color for touch ups. He helped me figure out the finish and was really nice about helping me. It's nice to go into a store and get helpful customer service, even when you're not a contractor. Staff worker recommended us to buy a few samples ($5 each) to put on the wall and stare at it over a days and see which one fits. Because once it's made and tinted, it's not refundable, even if you don't end up using it.
