I went in to this Monrovia store early as the first customer, and Joey immediately welcomed me with a very friendly greeting. I told him I was looking for paint to cover graffiti on stucco and showed him a piece of color sample from the wall. He used the computer to color match. However, after applying computer matched paint color and blow-drying the paint, he rejected 2 batches, because he felt neither was close enough to the sample I brought in. During the process, professional customers started streaming in and he didn't not put down my order. Instead, he asked his associate to help other customers while continue working on color matching my order. He knew I was only going to order a single gallon of the most budget friendly line of paint before I informed him, but he made me feel that I am valued as much as those professional customers who ordered buckets and buckets. I painted the wall right after returning and the color is an excellent match. Joey not only understood exactly what I was looking for, but also provided one of the best customer service I've ever experienced. From now on I will only go this Sherwin Williams store for all my painting projects, and I'd recommend all my friends to this store and ask to speak to Joey. read more

During a 40% off sale I purchased several containers of paint, including a quart of paint for a door I was looking to paint in a few weeks. At the recommendation of the salesman, I purchased the paint without the tint and came back to tint it a few weeks later. Apparently the color I chose did not suit the type of paint that was purchased even though the salesmen knew what tint I chose. When I came back to tint the paint, I was told they didn't have the type of paint I needed. Ultimately I had to pay extra money and didn't get the color I wanted. Very unhappy with the service. Won't be choosing this paint again. Update: Okay. I went back to this store because my contractor needed more paint last minute to finish a project. The salesman was very helpful. I went back again because my contractor now needed paint for the trim and another salesperson was also very helpful. I'm willing to say maybe my experience previously was an outlier. read more

Came to take advantage of their 40% off sale this weekend. But this review is mainly for Ricky! I came in on Friday night around 6:30PM thinking that we would be able to choose paint and get in and out of the store within 30 minutes since they close at 7. There was another customer in the store as well and Ricky was doing his best helping them and then helping us at the same time and I noticed time was cutting close to 7. We ended up finishing everything and checking out at 7:10PM. Ricky was very accommodating and extremely patient with us as well as the other customer and I appreciate that so so much. I came in Christmas Eve looking for some swatches but didn't expect to be back so soon since my painters wanted to work right away the day after Christmas. When I've gone in the past, the store gave fairly good customer service. However, this week, the store manager Alex was really rude. I went into the store to ask some questions, hoping to receive help on an issue; I also made a follow-up phone call thereafter. Went in the store, hoping to purchase paint, but because of the man working the counter, by the name of Alex, we decided to look elsewhere. He was not very approachable and seemed upset when we asked questions, so we left. (Review based on 4.5 stars) Came here today for the grand opening (even though this store has been open for about 1 or 2 weeks now) to pick up some freebies (free paint brush and bucket) for my newly found hobby of DIY projects. Parking here is limited, but it is doubtful that this parking lot would ever really get that full. The store itself is a little on the small side, smaller than other Sherwin William stores I've gone to before. But despite it's size, there is still a lot of paint selection for you to choose from for whatever your project needs are. There are also painting tools and even painter's clothes that is sold here. Service was pretty good, when I finally got helped.... a girl at the cashier was on a walkie talkie and ignored me for a good 10 minutes. Then a guy came out of the storage area and helped me. That transaction was quick and painless. Prices here are generally reasonably priced, although some of the paint supplies could probably be purchased cheaper at maybe Wal- Mart (which is in the city next door). But if I am looking for a specific color or brand then I'd probably come to a paint store than a department store or hardware store that sells paint. I'd consider coming back if I can't find a specific color or brand or other paint supplies at my local hardware store or at Home Depot. read more

Matched My paint perfectly i came to the right Place

Spent the morning back and forth with an employee who gave us the wrong or at least misinformation about the paint we needed. You were out of what we wanted, so we compromised with the employee only to be told you were all out of that product too. Then the employee would make another suggestion, we would discuss, agree, then you would be all out of that product. I understand being out of stock, but what I don't get are the suggestions from the employee and then not having the product in stock. Then trying to sell us a sheen totally different. Sorry I wanted Matte not Low Luster or eggshell. Totally different paint! We spent so much time the day before testing paints to come back and our order can't be fulfilled. Frustrating that you sold us samples that you couldn't fulfill the order on and the employee didn't mention anything about stock at that point. We needed to get back to our day jobs this morning, my pregnancy isn't on hold for any project and we need to find a replacement paint of 10 gallons elsewhere and start the samples over AGAIN. Not sure if the employees just don't care or under-experienced. Either way, I want my money back for samples. Even better, I want my Sunday back. How hard is it to give your customers a heads up about stock, especially when they say they are coming back after samples are tested? We appreciate he was trying to help us leave with paint, but it was not the paint we tested nor the paint we wanted. Seems backwards to put the burden of compromise of a $500 purchase on a customer cuz you don't have the paint in stock. Don't make sales suggestions if you cannot fulfill the order! BTW, we appreciated the 40% off sale, that was why we even went out of our way from our current paint supplier and sacrificed another day off to try your product samples. But now, all this time wasted, the sale is over today. We were told to find another store if we wanted to get the discount. Rude. Why couldn't you just honor the discount later when the right paint was in stock? You are at fault for not having the stock and were willing to sell me the samples. You could of saved the sale but the employee refused us and had no idea when he was getting the paint in stock. No one has time for this. read more
