I was busy reading directions on a specific product to see what surfaces it was safe to use on when I was approached by a solar panel salesman. I was confused at first because he asked if I needed help finding anything. I declined and thanked him. I thought nothing of it until he continued asking who my energy provider was and how much I paid a month. I was confused at first because 3rd party salesman typically don't offer help finding things in the store and get straight to the point. Once I realized that he was trying to sell me solar panels, I told him that we did some research on it recently and we were not interested in solar panels at the time as we wanted to wait for a new roof before investing in solar (as well as a battery to take advantage of solar). He would not leave me alone and told me that he was confused as to why I did not want to save money. I repeated to him the reasons why we were not ready for solar panels now and he then asked why I was not being open minded about ever getting solar panels. I said that if he had listened to what I said earlier, he would have realized that we did not want solar panels until after we replaced our roof first (maybe in 5-10+ years). What really pissed me off was when he finally got the message and left, he muttered "Well I tried to save you money." Clearly I would not be buying solar panels from you if you can't even listen or understand my current needs. All I wanted was to see if the bottle of cleaning solution was safe to use on my shower tiles but I ended up wasting 5 minutes listening to someone repeatedly telling me why I needed solar in my life. Normally I would have said no and walked away but I was already at the section I was trying to buy from. Yesterday I went in and had multiple items to return with multiple receipts both. I had made in store purchases and online purchases and it took a while for me to coordinate receipts with items. The young gentleman who helped me was calm, patient and helped me. I then went to plumbing and while one young man was busy on his phone an older gentleman helped me find what I needed. Then the cutest woman who I have interacted with several times spoke with me. She is in their specialty home section and she is lovely and sweet! I like this location a lot. Don't get floor installation here home depot. Because if you get floor install from home depot here Monrovia ca. They only have one installer that will give you there schedule. Not the schedule you desire based on your work schedule. For short I will not deal with this home depot ever on installation. The guy that do the measurement on the job is different from company that will install the floor. If you cancell there is 15 per cent restocking fee. Also the installer has window of 8am to 11am for installer arrival at your home. U will be tied up 3hours for nothing. read more

Any type of customer Service, customer assistance, product knowledge and professionalism is non existence as t this store location. It started with Tika who can't even greet a custom properly who is purchasing material. Perhaps she is having a bad day, but even after I greeted her with a smile her demeanor was not pleasant. She still ignored my questions and gave me attitude. I am pretty sure she's being compensated to do a job... simply do it. I had to return shortly after my purchase to get some assistance on cutting wood because of size. The 2 workers had me wait 20 min to assist me. I get it, perhaps they need to finish a task... but instead I found one standing in another isle on his phone and the other one stopped working and was talking to another employee. I had to remind them again and it still took another 10 min. Unfortunately, I do purchase large quantities from HD for work. Will need to re-evaluate this. This is becoming a trend in a few HD. This Monrovia Home Depot has absolutely the worst management and customer service I've ever experienced. Special orders at this store are always a hassle and 30% of the time they aren't correct. The specialist they have in specialty areas for special orders have no customer service skills nor do they have any skills regarding the product they are ordering or selling. Plenty of parking! The employees were SUPER helpful to me! I needed 3 big moving boxes (24x44) and couldn't reach them on the high shelf. The employee I stopped who happened to pass by, helped me at my request immediately and even helped me find boxes that weren't dented. Went last night to HD to purchase a new washer & dryer. As always there was only one sales person who was with a customer. I asked if he could find another sales person and he stated he would help me next. I never left the area and patiently waited about 20 minutes until a couple approached the salesman and started talking in Spanish. They were obvious friends by their interaction and I called out "wasn't I next". The salesman says " I forgot". This isn't the first time I've experienced such unwanted behavior. Looking for a faucet replacement for the pedestal sink in my powder room. Pat walked me to where the faucets were and asked me what size I needed. Curbside pickup sucks! This is the second time I've used it. The first time it was a bit smooth but they still wanted to hand me papers after they put the items in the trunk. The second time, I was the second person here, I called the number but was told a guy would help me in person. (There is a tent outside and he comes to your car to get your order info and check your id) a third person came and was taken out of order (the guy actually then went to shop in the store)-then walked to me, got my info and went on a break. I waited for 20 minutes and the new guy came to see what my name was and and after I told him how long I was waiting the said he would work on it. Meanwhile other people are getting their large items. I had one item.... After 29 minutes of waiting, I finally got my one item. Frustrating. We ordered 2 closet doors on Sept 4th, 2024. When we picked up the merchandise, we found there were no hardwares inside of the box. When our contractor went to the Monrovia Home Depot and asked them for the re-delivery date and they had no ideas. It cost about 2 hours for the customer service to find out the information. We were there 2 times and wasted 4 hours of our time. It is almost 20 days since we ordered the merchandise and we still haven't received our new shipment. It delayed our construction. The home depot service is not good. When I was shopping at stores, I asked questions and they gave me wrong answers and their attitude was not friendly. Covid 19 update: I'm upgrading this store from my 4 stars to 5 stars! They are doing an awesome job keeping us all safe from this virus! They've set up a gated entry area that is well controlled and regulated. They've even added tents for shade as you wait in line to enter. It's easy to social distance using the parking lines. They have signs up notifying everyone that you won't be allowed in the store without a mask on and they are definitely enforcing it! It only took me about 5-7 minutes in line before I got in so it's not bad at all, even if it looks like a long line. The store was sufficiently uncrowded enough to social distance properly.
