They will ask you about the project you're doing, and help find the right products and materials to fit the application of your work. Need to attach something to something else? They will guide you through the a-la-carte screws, nails, nuts, and bolts with expertness, making sure that the style, strength, and size of the hardware fits your project's needs. The prices for most items are competitive with big box stores-- items like PVC pipe, wood filler, and hardware are cheaper at Altadena Hardware in a side-by-side comparison to big box stores. If you purchase materials like wood or pipe, they can cut it for you for transport! The selection of paint, hardware, garden supplies, light bulbs, power tools, adhesives, and most other typical household hardware needs are excellent. Based on size, they don't stock as much lumber or appliances as big box stores. Very helpful -- they do cartridge exchange for Soda Stream!! And have many options of Soda Stream flavorings. They also sell local honey up at the cash register! Altadena Hardware is my first choice for hardware needs!

I just had a security screen installed over our front door, so this mean having locks rekeyed so that the security screen door and the front door could be opened using one key. Because I have a large extended family, I needed 10 copies of the house key made. This wasn't a specialty key, just a standard off the shelf Kwikset key. I went to the KeyMe vending machine at our local Albertsons supermarket. Their cost was $11 per key. There was a special offer in which if you had the machine duplicate two keys, it would throw in a third for free. I was tempted to just get my 10 keys made then and there in order to save time, but then I remembered Tritch Hardware in Eagle Rock. I went into the store today, and they were able to cut the 10 keys while I waited, for less than the cost of 3 keys at the Key Me machine. I can't say enough good things about the staff at Tritch.

This is a neighborhood store that isn't too large, but it carries excellent ACE product offerings, including paint supplies and paint. There's always someone available to mix colors and prepare your paint. You can actually browse paint colors on their website, which may be helpful for getting ideas before your visit. Parking is easy and free - they have a complimentary parking lot in the back. Simply drive into their driveway and you'll see it.

Their return policy is aware of this because they make their returns a very uncomfortable process. I was questioned by the store and treated like a criminal for trying to do an exchange, not even a return. There are so, so many options nearby for all sorts of home improvements solutions. Nearby we have independent business for Nurseries, floor, roofing, Kitchen, lighting, and they're not using their business as a staging ground for ICE.
