Located in my favorite plaza in Renton, Oceanclear has a plethora of frames. They have a variety of designer brands as well as high quality eyeglasses brands. I was impressed with the variety of styles and looks. It was quite easy to find a couple pairs that I would like. Dr. Wendy Kuo was amazing! I have hit and miss luck with optometrists lately but after my experience here I foresee me coming back. Dr. Kuo was informative, helpful, and very easy to talk to. She took what my ophthalmologist had told me and related it to the type of glasses that I required. I felt like I had dialogue with her instead of being talked at or rushed, which has been some of my recent experiences with optometrists (or really many in the medical field of all kinds). It was nice because I walked away with a better understanding of how to care for my eyes. Vincent took my initial check-in procedures (pressure test and what not) and he helped me select glasses. Will fully admit I was very uncertain about him in the beginning. He was so quiet - he didn't introduce himself or really explain any of the various tests we were doing or if they were good or bad results. When Dr. Kuo told me Vincent would help me pick out frames I really was skeptical. But once he was around me for five minutes he relaxed and gave fantastic advice! Vincent really helped me find the right look. The two frames I purchased I felt confident looked good on me and fit my face. I was super pleased! The eyeglasses arrived two weeks later and I received a voicemail and email letting me know they in. They were perfect! Pickup was a breeze. Highly recommend!

Eyes on the Landing have always left me feeling they care and understand any concerns. The Doctors and sales people are super helpful and personable. The one time I had an issue with a box of faulty prescription contact lenses, they did right and replaced the box for me with no charge. This weekend we dropped in to purchase a pair of glasses, I was pleasantly surprised when they happened to have a frame and art show going on. The selection of their hip and fashionable frames were larger for this particular event. They also had a raffle where other local small businesses donated gift cards, as well as offering wine and snacks. Everyone was very nice and uplifting while I was trying to choose frames. I ended up choosing 2 pairs because they (frames & prescription lenses) were 20% off. I am super excited to receive my quality and cute glasses in the weeks to come. I went in to have an annual exam as part of my driver's license requirement. While I respect keeping dangerous people off the road, they refused to offer a prescription to meet the requirements. After meeting with the surgical team, i was told a prescription would be fine as I did meet and pass the states requirement, but a prescription would be helpful for my vision until such time surgery is scheduled and repairs my vision. I then went back to Coal Creek Family Vision, scheduled an appointment for prescription the next day... They refused to see me at my scheduled time as they were reviewing my information. I was then told a different Doctor would be taking over... it has now been about a month and no communication from them, but they did bill me and my insurance... I would not recommend them and found the manner in which they handled a sensitive matter at a stressful time to be less than desirable.

Making the appointment was very easy, and I appreciated being sent the forms in advance to complete before my appointment time. When I arrived, explaining my printer had not been working, the person at the front desk was extremely kind and understanding and had no problem with my emailing the forms back so they could print them (I apologize for not remembering her name--I am terrible at names). The appointment started a few minutes early (which was great), and Dr. Alison Jensen was wonderful. She was kind, thorough, attentive, and really personable. She answered all of my questions, and was happy to show me all of the images of my eyes and explain what each element meant (which I loved). She also talked me through my lifestyle and concerns I had about my vision, provided all my options, and made her personal recommendation for how I proceed. I really appreciated all the thoughtful care and how she provided realistic options for me. When my appointment was over, she walked me up front and I was greeted by a second person who asked me if I'd like to look at frames on my own, with assistance, or if I'd like to take my prescription home and shop elsewhere. I really appreciated all the options, and opted to have her assist me in selecting glasses. Their available selection of both glasses and sunglasses is excellent. She asked me thoughtful questions about my preferences, talked me through common concerns and feedback about different frames, and provided her recommendations without pushing me in any direction. I ended up selecting frames there and then she walked me through each pricing point, the fees involved, and all my options. She even made sure to let me know which aspects I did or didn't need (such as anti-glare, transitional lenses, or a higher-quality lens for the glasses--I only got one of those three things after consultation) (I apologize for not remembering her name either--I really wish I did for everyone there). Overall, the experience was so stress-free, transparent, and personal. I felt very seen and well taken care of by everyone there, and highly recommend them.

She almost looked annoyed to do her job?? I was kind of taken aback by her attitude. The optician proceeded to say "you have no bridge at all" in a rude manner almost insulting my looks. The doctor owners, the father and daughter duo, must train their staff better to be more culturally sensitive when working with Southeast Asian patients and not insult our racial features. Is the Optician racist? This was the only takeaway I had walking away from this experience. Not to mention the awkward front desk situation. They have two front desk people, when you are talking to one, the other front desk person just stare at you the whole time. I felt so insulted and racially profiled that I asked my husband to call and cancel my lenses with them. Also, how are lenses $240 after insurance?!!! The staff is friendly and there's good selections here. I rarely find stuff that doesn't have my size. One time I bought a towel and the cashier scanned it and told us that we should be getting a bundle for that price so he saved us some value there. I've been here many times and noticed that when the line gets long they automatically very quickly add more cashiers to accommodate and the long line disintegrates quickly.
