08/27/24 Update: We've been back about 3-4x now since my 1st review and I've noticed a huge difference in customer service! My son has been coming every week for his contact lens training and they even know him by his 1st name now. The front desk personnel are friendly and accommodating and Dr. Wong is amazing as usual. She's very warm and great with kids! As long as customer service continues to be good like what we've been experiencing the past month, I highly recommend this place for your eye care needs! I've been working with Dr. Wong for many years and so far it's been great. She is soft spoken and seems to always take care of me. In the past they had different staff and my experience once wasn't the most pleasant but overall this is a great place. The office is clean and the staff are nice, I've been working with Shanna lately and it's been smooth. There is parking and the building is on the main floor to the left. Our family started coming here 3 years ago after being recommended by a close friend. We found out our prescription was overcorrected at our previous eye doctor so Dr. Wong corrected our prescriptions, which made a huge difference. Her staff are courteous, works well with adults and children, and makes the effort to get to know each of their patients. This year, our daughter got her first set of glasses. They got measurements to make sure the lens are positioned correctly. Upon pick up, they took time adjusting the frame to make sure it is comfortable and even threw in some cleaning spray. With COVID-19, they take extra precautions to ensure the safety of their patients. Contact lens pick up is curbside by appointment only. They space out their appointments so the office is not overcrowded. There are used bins for glasses after one is tried on and the staff are often seen disinfecting common surfaces. We return annually and would definitely recommend them to anyone in search of a trusted optometry clinic! read more

I love this place! I was referred there by my insurance Regence/VSP. It took me an hour to drive from Sammamish to Renton which was the only negative part of the visit. However from the moment I stepped in, it brightened me up! The gentleness of receptionist, the friendly Dr Wong, the helpful staff who arranged us the frames, all of the staff there have been marvelous! Kevin who helped us with the frames, did above and beyond by calling around to look for the right size frame for my son and have it still covered by the insurance. When I thanked him for his great effort, he said it's what they are there for! It's the best clinic I have ever been to although it's far from where I live. Dr. Wong and her staff are all so nice! They're all like your older sisters, you know, the ones who care about you and your feelings! My sisters and mother and myself all go here. So does my dad. And if my husband if he were to need any glasses which he doesn't, but he would go here if the situation were to arise in the future you know what eye mean? haha glasses are a huge part of who you are so its important to be somewhere u can take ur time and browse. its also important to be able to solicit non sales type of opinions from people who work at the place youre about to purchase your glasses. Altho the staff members agreed on different frames for my face, i was happy that they were taking the time to really look at me and not trying hard to make their sales. the appointment itself was very nice and comforting. i didnt feel like a patient being wheeled through and around on their set schedule, i felt like a guest. I came an hour for my appt since i left my prev appt elsewhere earlier than expected. Since they had an opening, they moved me up and accommodated me without any problems. after my exam i remember a comment a prev dr had said and mentioned it -- the person seeing me then took an extra 5 mins to check on a potential issue i could of had. Super nice right? my 2 sisters and I had all gotten the same pair of glasses at one time and we're all giggly girls that apparently made an impression so some of the staff remembered us (even tho it was quite some time ago). the fact that the cared enough to remember us makes us feel homier so we have this natural inclination to come back to them whenever we have any eye related issues/concerns. i would highly suggest coming here for your next appt! read more

What universe am I in? I'm not even their patient, but they were SOOOOO helpful to me. I bought a pair of readers at Eyebuydirect that were supposed to be +3's. I got them and they were so blurry. I called Vision Plus and spoke to Donna who I thought might blow me off when I asked if I could come and have my readers measured but she was so welcoming even though it was to closing time and I wasn't their patient. I drove down right away and I was welcomed in by Donna who found that my readers were +1.5, not 3's! She cleaned my glasses and without me having to ask, she wrote a letter to Eyebuydirect explaining that the RX was not a 3 as they had assured me. This should help in the refund process. I don't even remember the last time I've seen such efficiency and willingness to be helpful. This clinic is lucky to have such a wonderful employee! Thank you, Donna! read more

I'm only reviewing the portion of the office that handles the glasses. I was not seen by this doctor "yet". This was the closest place to me at the time and I needed my glasses adjusted. They were crooked and it annoyed me to no end. I did a quick search on Yelp and this office has amazing reviews -- so of course, I had to check them out. This office is located right on the corner of Benson and Petrovitsky in the Kent/Renton area. It's on the same corner as the 7-eleven. I had no issues finding parking. Upon entering, I was greeted right away by Kevin and Roxanne. I did not have to wait at all. They were both extremely friendly and very helpful. The details of how my glasses should sit on my face were explained to me by Roxanne. After two attempts of adjusting my glasses and me trying them on, she had gotten them perfect. Yay! What a relief! All of this time and care with no charge at all. I started to peruse the sunglasses after. They have a varying selection of designer frames. Roxanne was very helpful in helping me find a pair. She took several out that would possibly look good on me. In most places, you're basically on your own. The second opinion does help immensely. Roxanne took the time to explain all the different types of lenses. I selected the brown polarized lenses with the addition of anti-glare. I also received 20% off my entire order. Wow! That saved me about $100. While she was entering the order in, Kevin asked if I would like some water to drink. They were both very accommodating and provided excellent customer service! I was treated with much time and care with no rush at all and I was not even a patient here. I had just gotten my checkup at another optometrist and will most likely come here for my next annual visit. .... so now I just await the arrival of my sunglasses, which should be in about 2 weeks. I'll be ready for an upcoming trip. Woo hoo! UPDATE: Picked up my sunglasses on 11/18 and the service was consistently awesome!! I even received the old lenses they took out from the sunglasses just in case I want to switch them out down the line. read more

I am a huge fan of Dr. Wong! I was apprehensive about being rushed through the exam but she took her time and made me feel comfortable with the process. I am very happy with the accuracy of my prescription. The only drawback I felt was that one of the ladies who was helping me select a frame kept showing me things I told her I didn't like. I was relieved when the gentleman working there stepped in and gave his advice as well, as his choices were more aligned with my taste - but this wasn't a major drawback for me, as the lady was really nice, it just wasn't what I was looking for. I had scheduled an appointment online, but received an email saying they were booked. I decided to call the office and they were more than happy to put me on a waitlist if anyone cancelled. I have been meaning to leave a review, but haven't had the chance to. I think I've been seen by all of the Optometrist at this location and they have all been nice, professional and very thorough. The folks I really want to praise are the support staff. I can count on my fingers how many times I have come into the store, but somehow the staff always seems to recognize me or at least they make it seem like they know who I am. Lol That is the kind of customer service I appreciate. They make you feel warm and welcome! I have two small toddlers and they can be a handful, but the staff is always nice enough to open up their toy box to help distract my kiddos. Come to think of it, Dr. Wong even gave my son a stuffed animal to take home. I can see again!!! HAHA Hands down the best place I've gone to. I recently went in for an eye exam and trying contacts for the first time...and it has been such a relief. I've gone through numerous of clinics and was just getting used to the horrible service I've been receiving...thinking that all eye clinics may be like that...but not here! From the very beginning with the first phone call with Kevin, who spent 15 minutes answering all my annoying questions...he was patient, very knowledgeable, and I never felt the rush to get off the phone. The staff upon check in were warm, welcoming and very helpful during each of my visits. I was most impressed by Dr. Wong. She took a lot of time to make sure the contacts I had worked for me. I work a couple doors down and was told by a co-worker they take our insurance so I said why not and brought in my prescription. I was helped by a young Asian woman (unfortunately didn't grab her name) and she was able to pull up all my coverage information and made everything very clear. I'm downgrading my last review. My husband on my recommendation went here to have his eyes tested and get new lenses for his glasses. He texted me while I was at the gym and asked if I would pick his glasses up for him. I did and while there, asked the person if I could order a new set of contacts. I had my credit card with me but hadn't grabbed my i.d. and because I didn't have my i.d. she informed me that I'd have to get it before she'd make the order. As a patient, they have all of my information so why they couldn't order my contacts was confusing. I'm not going to bother with trying to order them again, I'll just order them from Walgreens. read more

I moved recently and had to find an optometrist near be, so I decided to try this one and I'm very happy I did! At this location everyone was very informative and friendly, and the appointment was super fast! Significantly faster than at my normal optometrist. I found really cute frames for pretty cheap (though I do have insurance). The guy at the desk went out of his way to help me find frames that I liked without having to spend more than I wanted, and he explained things very well. Mar 2016 Edit: I came here again and just like last time I received excellent care. I got contacts for the first time ever and I was really nervous. The doctor and staff were very supportive and encouraging the entire time. As before they explained everything very well, and very simply without big medical terms. But most importantly, I struggled a lot with getting the contacts in. I couldn't manage it during my first appointment, so they simply let me come back to keep practicing. They were always very nice and gave me a lot of tips, and on my third attempt I did it! So I really appreciate the staff here. read more

I recently made my first visit to Vision Plus, for some an exam and new contacts. I saw Dr. Louie, who I believe is a fairly recent addition to the staff. I can honestly say that in my roughly 35 years of seeing optometrists, I've never had a better experience! Dr. Louie gave me the most comprehensive eye exam I've ever had, and she made sure that all of my questions were answered. Then the follow-up care I've received has been nothing short of stellar! As far as the facility itself goes, the waiting area is very comfortable and clean. The staff "up front" is welcoming and professional. And the online appointment scheduling is a plus, too. Depending on when you go, the shared parking lot may be fairly full, although I've always found a spot. I'm can't say anything about Dr. Wong, since I haven't seen her (yet), but she has great reviews of her own. But I can say without a doubt that you'll be pleased if you go see Dr. Louie at Vision Plus! read more

I have been going to VPB and Dr. Dori Wong for a number of years. Dr. Doris Wong is an excellent Optometrist who is very knowledgeable, friendly, kind and truly wants the best for her patients. She has a great team of staff who spent a lot of time going out of their way to assist with insurance billing, go over the many options for frames, lens, etc that matches my budget and insurance coverage. Whenever I have given them specific feedback they have been very open to hearing my concerns and then addressing them. They have really earned my trust and loyalty as a customer. Largely because of the space I think their selection of frames a is bit limited, but I was able to find two frames for my needs and stay within a reasonable budget. read more

My 14 year old son and I went in this week for our yearly exams. This was my first time going to this Doctor and I have to say, it was the best eye appt. I've had in 20 years. Dr. Wong is patient, kind, considerate and thorough. She tag teamed the exam between my son and I seamlessly with us both in the room at the same time, but it was like we were one on one. The high resolution images are worth the extra $25, so if you have eye concerns that go deeper than just a routine exam, spend the money! The front desk staff was very welcoming as well. This business has a policy that they will only adjust your lenses once. There is a reason for this policy. My existing frames broke and could not be easily repaired so went to VP for a new pair. I ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO HAVE glasses for work (computer) and reading. So, eye exam, new frames, new transition lenses (which are all what I already had). Was not measured for the height or width of the transition, as my previous ophthalmologist did. First attempt: Prescription was TOTALLY off. I could not read a thing, let alone see with them. Transition within the lens was very narrow and low, where the glasses I had were wide and transition higher than typical. Retrieved my existing prescription from my previous eye doctor, returned the glasses and requested my original prescription. OK -- that should work, right? Unfortunately no. True that I have not adjusted to the new glasses yet, but here's what I have noticed so far: - transition is, again, very narrow and low. If I'm not looking directly -- and I mean DIRECTLY -- at what I'm trying to read, the type is out of focus. - don't let my eyes wander even slightly to the left or right. I won't be able to see what I'm trying to read. When typing into a field and the typing is changing lines or jumping around, it's adjust, adjust, adjust from blurry to clear. Have to keep my eyes extremely forward and move my head to clarify the blurry text. And don't have to look to the left or right side of the screen at anything... - These are supposed to be a "triple" transition: bottom=reading; middle=computer; top=normal. As far as I can tell there are two transitions only -- reading and normal. If I return to VP I will have to pay for adjustments, and I would not expect the result to be any better. Don't get me wrong -- I can at least SEE with the corrected lenses, but am not liking them so far. If I have to pay someone to redo the lenses, I'm going to go with my original provider. I'll send him the glasses and have him redo the lenses based on what he originally made. And pay even more $$$ to get it right. I don't believe in any universe a person should have to pay close to $1000 (by the time the glasses are remade...) for a pair of glasses that are not complex in any manner. My last provider made the effort (measuring everything, including field of vision) to get it right the first time. Very expensive lesson learned. Guess I can say that I would not recommend. read more

The front office staff were friendly and welcoming, and Dr. Wong really took the time with me to talk about my prescription, which is a bit complicated. Doctor was rude. The doctor I had was a tall guy balding with glasses, and not the usual Dr Wong. What's strange is that either he was being facetious or not, but he kept saying why "I didn't exist" just because my appointment didnt show up in his schedule. He asked why I never had glasses, I said I haven't had them in awhile. I never asked for glasses but wanting contact lenses but the guy kept patronizing me that "What if you dont have a backup? " "Do you get my point?", in a very patronizing way. First, I dont believe in glasses. I lost more glasses than I wore contacts anyways. I've been wearing contacts for over 10 years and I lose more money losing glasses than the cheaper alternative. If I wanted a backup, I'd probably wear the backup contact lens! At that time all I said was "I get your point" only to dismiss his lecture that I don't really deserve. Once I get my prescription, I'll probably am going to see a different doctor going forward. The only upside is that I took a hbp test and his recommendation to go to my physician which was completely irrelevant to my issue. Even then I asked for another test, he said there may not be a point to that, even though I was probably stressed out already and just wanted to make sure. And in the end, the staff (not the doctor) just gave me one anyways. I dont get it. read more
