The eye exam visit was decent (wait times, interactions standard) While not particularly warm and welcoming. First thing they asked me to do was to take out my current contacts. I went through the entire appt and conversations without being able to see anyone's faces. The exam was complete and I went to pay an additional money owed for co pay as well as additional box of contacts. They have to be ordered due to my prescription level and it's always taken 1-2 wks. 4 weeks later - May 2025, I kept checking my mailbox for my new contacts and they hadn't arrived. I called LensCrafters and was placed on hold for over 10 minutes. 6 weeks later - End of May 2025, I call back and reach an employee who casually states "your contact order for the brand you chose doesn't come in your prescription". I asked why nobody has called me to inform me my order never went through. "I don't know but you can come in and ask". Wow. So... 6 weeks and no order was ever placed? I've been wearing the same prescription in my preferred brand for years. 6 weeks and they didn't even call me to let me know? I paid in advance. 8 weeks later, June 20 2025 I went back in to LensCrafters. Apparently everyone goes to lunch at the same time so i had to wait until 2pm when they re-opened. I asked again why nobody has called me to inform me my order never went through. Or to come in to try samples. 8+ weeks later and I still don't have 2 boxes of contacts that I paid for in April. I told my MIL about this incident in general without stating the business name. Her reply? "It wasn't LensCrafters in the mall, was it? I've been waiting 4 weeks for my glasses and can't get an update from them." Ha

I did start feeling some discomfort in the repaired eye about seven months later and took them up on their offer for another complimentary check up. The doctors were again friendly and patient as they examined and determined that night dryness was causing the discomfort. They told me what ointment to purchase and how to apply it. One month later, that discomfort is gone. Again, they could have done the lasik, taken my money and said, "sayonara." But they instead continued to follow up with ongoing concern for my eye health and recovery. You don't experience customer service like that from many businesses these days. Located in my favorite plaza in Renton, Oceanclear has a plethora of frames. They have a variety of designer brands as well as high quality eyeglasses brands. I was impressed with the variety of styles and looks. It was quite easy to find a couple pairs that I would like. Dr. Wendy Kuo was amazing! I have hit and miss luck with optometrists lately but after my experience here I foresee me coming back. Dr. Kuo was informative, helpful, and very easy to talk to. She took what my ophthalmologist had told me and related it to the type of glasses that I required. I felt like I had dialogue with her instead of being talked at or rushed, which has been some of my recent experiences with optometrists (or really many in the medical field of all kinds). It was nice because I walked away with a better understanding of how to care for my eyes. Vincent took my initial check-in procedures (pressure test and what not) and he helped me select glasses. Will fully admit I was very uncertain about him in the beginning. He was so quiet - he didn't introduce himself or really explain any of the various tests we were doing or if they were good or bad results. When Dr. Kuo told me Vincent would help me pick out frames I really was skeptical. But once he was around me for five minutes he relaxed and gave fantastic advice! Vincent really helped me find the right look. The two frames I purchased I felt confident looked good on me and fit my face. I was super pleased! The eyeglasses arrived two weeks later and I received a voicemail and email letting me know they in. They were perfect! Pickup was a breeze. Highly recommend!

Staff are friendly and helpful. No issues with my insurance unlike my experiences at the other chain eye clinic I used to frequent. Chance, the fitment/eye technician (not sure on the real title), is super friendly and helpful. Taught me a lot about frames and types of lenses they offer. Dr. Yelgar was very knowledgeable and helped answer all my questions. Very professional. My initial worry was that a non-chain clinic might not have a lot of eye glasses frames to select but I was thankfully wrong. They had brands ranging from Nike, Oakley, the bendable frames, Dragon, etc. I think the prices are decent, I don't have much experience though. Around $219 for my Oakley frames before insurance kicked in. I'd highly recommend this clinic! Nice and welcoming. Doesn't feel like you're being a nuisance being there, unlike my old eye clinic chain (it was America's Best in Tukwila, bleh).

I really appreciated that as I had a difficult year medically. But I had a number of problems with Cascade Vision. 1, they are *constantly* upselling, which I would have thought impossible for a doctor's office, but there you go. Every time I went in, whatever I went in for, there was always a necessary, over the counter product or not-covered-by -insurance procedure pushed on me which (surprise, surprise) they had available at the counter or through a special pharmacy. This gets tiresome. It also erodes trust in whatever advice the doctor is telling me about my condition. 2, I was having trouble adjusting to the glasses I bought there, for longer than the usual amount of time adjusting to a new prescription. I came back to have them checked out, just in case there was an error because everyone makes mistakes occasionally --that's human nature. The opticians got very snarky and overly defensive about that. A patient should be able to have their prescription checked out without questions. 3, I was misdiagnosed with a stye which turned out to be ocular rosacea. I saw 2 different doctors at Cascade Vision over about 3-4 months for this problem, at least a couple times a month, sometimes weekly. It seems extraordinary to me that they didn't recognize an ocular condition, which has the potential of damaging my cornea. The advice I was given (and of course, multiple products to buy!) to treat the "stye" was of course a complete waste of time and money and could have worsened the rosacea. 4. I had a diabetic eye exam and requested that the results be forwarded to my PCP. I had to make multiple requests over 6 months for that to be done, which is ridiculous, considering it could be sent in an email.

Don't go here. Ridiculously expensive after searching other methods. I went here once when I had…read moreinsurance for my job and didn't think much of it. They kept sending me messages about doing another eye appointment (takes like 20 minutes) and I told them I no longer had vision insurance with my job. The quote was over $300 not including the contacts or anything. Called around and this money-hungry business (not trying to help people just cash in as much as possible) is charging WAY more for an exam than literally any other Optometrist out there. Not even close. I decided to do an eye exam online and it was $79.99 INCLUDING 6 months of contacts. If you don't have insurance....definitely don't give your business to them. If you do have insurance...don't give your business to them because you know they are just using and abusing the system. Go to Costco or literally ANYWHERE else besides here.

I used my annual VSP benefit and selected some Ray-Ban Meta AI glasses. Initially, I had to wait till they got the larger size frame in and was told that it was too big for my face. I tried on the smaller one and noticed that it pinched a little bit right behind my ears. It took almost 3 weeks to get the new glasses in and after I started wearing them for about a week, I noticed that they pinched too much and were too uncomfortable to wear for more than an hour at a time. I contacted the office and let them know that and I was not apprised of any exchange option or anything else. I am now out several hundred dollars and have a pair of glasses that I can't wear. Waiting for my benefits to kick in after the first of the year and then I'll be shopping for a new provider and glasses.
