He took the time to really understand what was going on, explained everything clearly, and gave me exactly what I needed to start healing: the right prescription Ophthalmic Suspension drops and Muro 128 ointment. I felt better quickly, and honestly, I was just so relieved to be taken seriously and treated with such compassion. What really impressed me was how thoughtful he was about long-term care. He asked really specific questions to get to the root of the issue and encouraged me to come in with any concerns or questions so he could help as much as possible. I went to Dr. Simmons for over 20 years and stayed with Dr. Bothello when Dr. Simmons retired. I really like Dr. Bothello & think that he is a good optometrist. I never used to have any issues with this office. I am seriously thinking about finding another optometrist at this point. Some of the staff has gone way downhill. Last year I was overcharged by almost $100 for my glasses. At my recent appointment on 7.8.25, I was given incorrect information about my coverage & was overcharged by $375. I know this because I called my insurance & verified my coverage. Dr. Bothello is a preferred provider & my lenses should be covered in full. I was told by staff that adding progressive lenses would cost an additional $369, so I decided not to get the progressive lenses. My insurance verified that progressive lenses are also covered in full. It has taken days to receive a return call. I hope to get my refund for $375 very quickly & to get my sunglasses back with progressive lenses. read more

I've been coming to this practice for close to 20 years. Yes, that's how great it is. My visit today was every bit as wonderful as my care there has always been. The receptionist checked me in promptly upon arrival and the gal (Sandra?) who did the tests prior to seeing Dr B was friendly and efficient. I remembered her from last year and we had a quick catch up. Dr B was prompt, performed all my tests skillfully and answered all my questions. This year Alexander helped me find eyeglass frames very quickly and I was thrilled because I frequently have difficulty finding frames that look reasonable on my long narrow face. I'm not good at picking them out myself and he was able to quickly narrow down some options of what I was looking for. I wasn't rushed at all, and I was out the door in no time. Thank you for saving my conference! I was at a conference at the Seattle Hilton and accidentally sat on my glasses. I am extremely short sighted and I had twisted the frames so badly that I thought my only option was to hold my glasses in front of my face and try to attend sessions that way...until my lenses actually fell out as well. Luckily, someone smarter than me suggested I find an optometrist in the area. Eye 5 Optical was open and cheerfully told me to come straight in. A friend helped me to an Uber (yes, I am really that helpless without glasses) and a staff member kindly came down to the carpark to guide me to their offices. Kory and her team took my mangled glasses away and returned them fixed in a few moments, then refused to take payment. I could not believe how lovely these people were, and thanks to them, I was able to finish my conference and meet all my obligations. I wish they were my local optometrists and am half tempted to move just to employ them. And yes, I now have a spare pair, carry them with me, and try to be more careful where I put my glasses....Thank you again to the team, you were wonderful! read more

I had a wonderful experience as a first time patient at Eye 5 Optical. The office is spacious, bright and clean. The staff are professional, kind, and genuinely enjoy what they do. Fabiola was kind, friendly and took very detailed notes about my concerns. Dr. Botelho was very thorough with his exam. During the part of the exam where he had me look through the lenses and compare two choices, I asked him many times to let me have another look at the lens choices, and he was very patient. He was completely focused during the appointment and I never felt rushed. Dr. Botelho also asked specific questions about how I use my glasses, including what types of activities I do while wearing glasses and whether or not I noticed certain issues that can occur. Overall a great doctor. Optometrist Sandra helped me pick out new frames and she has great style sense. She quickly found exactly what I needed in terms of style and color, and gave a clear explanation of the types of lenses available. Highly recommend! read more

The service was nice, staff and the doc is really nice. After my eye exam I ordered my contacts for a year's worth, but when I came back they only found one of my contacts. As soon as I was planning to head back, they found it. So I went back and got it. Whatever people make mistakes The only thing is that their hours don't work for me. Sun-mon they're closed, weekdays they close at 4pm (I don't get home till 6) and Saturday they're open from 9am to 1pm. So it's really inconvenient for me to pick up my contacts because Saturday's I'm usually busy. But overall the staff are really nice read more

My husband and I have been going there for decades seeing Dr. James Simmons. I can't rave enough about him and his clinic. He's super professional and yet personable and funny. He cares a lot and remembers even personal things about you as a patient. I thoroughly love visiting him once a year. I've had excellent sight so far but sometimes I wish I had more reasons to go see him LOL. We always have excellent visits and lots of good laughs. My husband hasn't been as lucky as me with his eyes and He always received the best care possible. His clinic is always very clean and efficient. He's prompt and never late with his appointments. His staff has been among the best I've seen in any place. They are always very polite and great to work with and know what they're doing. I am like a lot of people and want to save money but when it comes to my eyes I stopped going to the warehouse stores. I was tired of the loud obnoxious people that also go to these warehouse stores. Sure they are cheep but that should have no bearing when it comes to your eyes. I never got the level of service like I do at Eye 5 Optical. At the warehouse stores I feel they did not have enough products that my eyes require. I had an issue on contacts. I used to use a big name brand but those bothered my eyes. They were not able to suggest another brand that they carry that were comfortable for my eyes. Dr Simmons is attentive to your needs and his staff is very friendly and helpful. The office is clean and comfortable. As in my contact issue above, Dr Simmons was able to direct me to another set of contacts based on my issues that he listen to me explain. read more

I have been going to Eye Five Optical since 1997. They don't accept my absolutely awful insurance (few providers do), but there's no way anyone but Dr. Simmons or a qualified MD is ever touching my eyes. Dr. Simmons is a hoot, the staff is amazing. Could NOT recommend them more highly. read more

The office is nice, the doctor is smart and was very friendly. BUT the assistants, they did not seem trained and as a health care professional you should not have acrylic nails on. The assistant who did the contact len try on with me had acrylic nails. Everyone knows bacteria, nail polish and dirt get traps underneath the acrylic nails and she was trying to teach me how to put the contacts on with her nasty fake nails...not a good impression for a new patient. I would give it zero stars but I gave it one the doctor was excellent his staff on the other hand no! read more
