They did lasik with my contacts still in my eyes Please read!!!! Everything was ok when I went into the Bellevue office he had me take out my contacts do some test and then walked me to put back in my contacts to make the payment for lazik. Was supposed to have it same day but time wise I rescheduled it for next day in Renton. I go in the next day sign a few papers and the front desk was extremely nice and she takes me in the back waiting room gives me Tylenol pm and a goody bag of eye drops etc for after. And I wait 5 min.. Dr. John Bogard comes out scratching at his skin on his side of hip and shakes my hand with his other hand. We walk in the back where his assistant from the day before who had me put my contacts back in was now at the Renton facility. The Dr does not wash his hands he grabs gloves and comes to instruct me how to climb onto a super wobbly old like brown dentist chair telling me how to lay so it doesn't top over etc and hold real steel because it moves . so many red flags but I wanted this painless surgery and my vision back to normal. He puts one drop in my eye and tells me I'm not going to feel a thing but a little pressure from suctioning. He did it so fast and then came the lazer. It hurt so ***** bad like something was burning onto my eye. He gives me a countdown for a few more seconds and says next eye.. the next eye hurt even worse I let out a grunt and wanted it to stop but held still until he was done. And I'm in so much pain he says,"there's a eyelash hair in his eye" and then pauses and says "oh **** his contacts are still in, I just lasered his contacts to his eyes." Then says "I don't know what to do I've never had this happen before and don't know what to do, I've got to call some other Drs. And brush up on what I need to do, it's happened before I'm sure but I don't know what to do" I ask him for the contacts and he said " I lasered them they are no good". at this point I'm pissed he looks in both of my eyes and says ,"that one is no good but I think I can try and cut some more at that one and then we can let the left one try to heal and just put a contact in it for 4-6 weeks and come back to try again it still has bubbles so I'm thinking it should be ok."I get up and can't see hardly anything , eyes are hurting so bad , everything is a blurr and I walk out. He follows me out and he sits next to a lady in the visiting room that seen me upset and she asked what happened and he sits down next to her and starts telling her my personal business so I am even more pissed and said " what are you doing telling random people my personal medical buisness???" He looks over at the front desk and says ," well he was going to tell her anyways I'm sure" and shrugs. I leave.. and that next day I've got so many attorneys and even a local news channel trying to get my story that can not believe this malpractice and Dr that's breaking the hippa law. But not one personal call from him to even ask if I'm ok. The headaches I'm having now are unexplainable and the pain from this "painless" surgery is on another level that I did not want coming from my eyes and head every day. Do not leave your vision in the hands of Dr. John Bogard I hate myself for making this decision and will forever have to live with the bad choice but listen to me and do not do it. Everything about my experience here promoted my confidence in the process, procedure, safety, and staff. I have an incredibly strong prescription. My glasses could have been great paper weights with how heavy and thick they were. As a result, I wasn't confident if LASIK was even an option for me. I was examined, confidently identified to be a great candidate for lasik, and was operated on in the same day. My operation and post-op experience may not align with others, but I feel it's important to share possible outcomes. The procedure itself was very fast and completely without pain or discomfort. It was easy to follow instructions given, and the process was explained as it unfolded. Immediately after, I had foggy vision but I could tell my vision was far improved. I was given a bag with prescription eye drops, artificial tears, comprehensive, detailed instructions and expectations for my experience post-op, some goggles to wear while sleeping, and some sleek sunglasses to wear when outdoors during the day. I felt no pain until 30 minutes after the procedure. Around the time that began, I took the recommended nap. When I woke up, the pain was gone. I haven't experienced any dryness, irritation, or redness. The following day I had my follow up appointment and was assured that everything looks great, and despite my strong prescription, I already had 20/20 vision. My healing process will take a little longer and will eventually resolve into being 20/15. This place is pushy and needs more professionalism. I was referred here by my eye doctor. They called (and by they, it seems to be a call center somewhere else wholly) and followed up to set the appointment, but they were very pushy to get me in immediately. Their top focus seemed to be filling out their appointment calendar, not getting me comfortable with something that I'm still exploring if I for sure want to do. They wanted me in for a consult the next day and for the procedure a few days later. Effectively wanting me to commit before I even knew the doctor's name. That timeline is too aggressive and in general off putting. But I went ahead with a tighter timeline initially. The part that made it clear I could not let this company touch my eye, was when I went in for my consult, there was no doctor in the entire building. Apparently, the doctor was in Bellevue and would do the second half of the consult virtually. While I may have been able to get comfortable with that if they'd told me from the outset, I found it completely unprofessional. In no way should a medical procedure be handled in this sort of fashion. The priority is on efficiency and in no way geared towards the patient. Do not bother with this place. read more

Great experience, clean office, friendly and efficient staff. Never had to wait long at any point in time, entire process was seamless. Actual procedure was quick and minimally uncomfortable. They even have me a snack beforehand! Eyes bothered me for a couple hours then I was fine. I immediately had improved vision right after procedure. I had it done on a Friday, went back Monday for follow up and vision is 20/15! No more glasses and contacts! I felt very prepared because of how thorough the staff went over everything and answered my questions. My first issue was my appointment was at 10. Nobody came out front to check on me until seven minutes after 10:00 now I appreciate getting all of the testing done, after all of the testing was done and then right at the end when I was supposed to see the doctor Apparently he was too busy to see me so they said that he will be giving me a call today now before this was told to me we had already discussed financing and I was asked When was I planning on having the surgery and like I had said to the young lady I didn't have a date And I did start asking some questions. She did answer them very well and she did tell me that they had a available appointment for Friday I said well again I need to speak with the doctor first because I do have a lot more questions and she state I do understand but I can still go ahead and put you on the Schedule Now at this point I feel like this is just being very pushy because you want to put me on the schedule and I have not even spoken with the doctor so she walked back out the room when somebody knocked on the door. She stepped out, spoke with them for a couple seconds, came back and that's when I was told that the doctor would have to call me because he was busy . OK so she put me on the schedule for Friday and I asked that she put me down for the earliest one you have but again I will not be doing this until I'll speak to the doctor and she said OK and guess what I still have not heard back from the doctor. Anyway, the doctor don't have to worry about calling me back because everything was unprofessional after that and before that I will be seeking another opinion from a different doctor of a different caliber because that clinic is not right they probably need to be closed down, so do you research before you pay them any type of money because if I would've had to pay for my services today I would've asked for a refund.. read more

Do NOT go here. Or to their sister site: TLC in Bellevue. I went here for a consultation appointment and found them very pushy so I decided to go somewhere else. I ended up having my surgery at the end of September 2022 in Bellevue, not realizing at the time that they were the same company since they have different names. 3 1/2 months later, I still have pain in one of my eyes, I can't see clearly at night, which makes driving incredibly difficult, and the prescription in my painful eye is not fully adjusted. On top of all this, scheduling a follow up appointment beyond the typical one month appointment has been a nightmare. I was moved to Renton because Bellevue closed. No one calls back. I've had two post-op visits cancelled. The first cancelled appointment took me three days to reschedule because whenever I called the main line, the service reps claimed they can't book appointments - you can only do so by calling the site directly; but the number always goes to customer service. When I finally had my appointment, the doctor seemed miffed that my eyes weren't healed; but only suggested I schedule another appointment a month later. Today, I drove to the office only to find out my appointment was cancelled (again) because "a doctor wasn't available". I rescheduled. We'll see if they keep the appointment. read more

I was steered to this clinic from my vision insurance carrier. I was NOT IMPRESSED. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND! The day prior to my appt, they called to confirm, but there was some question as to whether the doctor was actually going to be available. They eventually said they figured it out and the doctor would be there. Some red flags: -Facility is located in an industrial building/office complex -Receptionist was wearing a crop top -I had to watch a silly video on a tablet about the procedure. It contained info that should have been explained to me directly by the doctor -After my exam, I was told the doctor was not there, as he had an emergency "to assist a patient". The initial scheduling issue made me think they might be lying. -They went ahead and scheduled me for surgery anyway, saying the doctor would "complete the exam" right before surgery -The price of the procedure (with my insurance "discount") was $4000, which is the same as other facilities when paying out of pocket -As I was leaving, there was a very angry patient at the front desk yelling "You messed up the procedure! I have lost my vision!" The whole thing felt shady. Since it would be the same price to go somewhere else not covered by my insurance, I cancelled my surgery appt. When researching other facilities, I was told I would have to be out of my contacts for 7 days prior to the exam or surgery. Lasik Plus didn't mention this at all. I think everyone can agree that your vision is very important, and damage to it could be life-altering. Don't let non-professionals potentially ruin it! It isn't worth it! read more

Ok...I DID it!!! All my life I've had 20/10 vision and when I started having trouble reading and working on the computer, I first tried contacts, which were NOT for me. While I knew lots of people who had had Lasik done, I just wasn't ready to submit myself for uh...slicing up of my eyeball (that's not what they do, actually, but that was my way of reacting to the thought). Last summer I promised myself that the days of losing reading glasses had to end. I also do charity auctions for a living so looking "near" at a catalog in my hand and then looking out at the audience was a challenge. Like many others, I responded to the "get Lasik for as little as $250/eye" ad, but, unlike several folks who complained that this was "bait and switch" I have to say...do your homework before you really think YOUR eyes are a $250 special. There are some simpler procedures that will cost $250-500, but budget $2000 if you want to correct certain types of vision issues...like mine! After all the tests, it was recommended that I do mono-vision, which is correcting only one eye for near vision and leaving the other eye alone to do the distance work. As excited as I was to do it, as the time got closer, I got nervous. REALLY nervous. But, just like with the evaluation, everyone at the office was really nice, talked me through it and eased my fears. I agree the pillow is great. I asked for a blanket, too, because the treatment room was cold (apparently the laser likes it that way...please, by all means make the laser happy! :-) ) Dr. Walker is amazing...kind, reassuring, funny. I was very thankful to the previous reviewer who said the disconcerting part was where the cut the corneal flap, because, you're right....you don't have vision in that eye once that happens. But because I knew about it, it didn't freak me out. A few minutes later..I was lasered and done. After that, I did go back home and tried to nap, as recommended. Problem is, I'm not one who can nap for long so when I woke up I was in the middle of the post-op misery. Your eye is dry, you feel like there's a piece of glass under your eyelid and although they tell you to blink often (and put drops in every hour minimum), blinking only makes it worse. Don't worry...I won't rub my eye...I want to scratch it out with my fingernails. BUT...it only lasts for a few hours, even if they seem like really LONG hours. I holed up in my darkened room for about 3 more hours. At 4:30, I thought I'd try to brave the upstairs and the light. I went to get the supplements they give you...and, holy CRAP -- I could read the danged fine print on the side of the bottle...with NO GLASSES! Now, 5 days post-op, I'm still blown away by how good my vision is up close. I can read the fine print on the side of the drops they give you for your eyes...I can read a menu in dim light...I even had NO problem reading the catalog for the auction I did Saturday night...two days after treatment. My eyes are still dry and the vision is a bit blurry at distance, but I'm even typing this on the computer with no glasses. One note: we have a little mis-communication about whether or not I needed a driver the day of treatment. I asked three times and was told "no," but the day-of treatment I had to get my husband to take an Uber at the last-minute because...I needed a driver. Makes total sense because you are a little impaired, visually and otherwise, but just be sure you have your driver ahead of time. If I could, I'd give LasikPlus (this office) 6-stars. I'm giving this place a one star solely because of the consultation appointment. I have very high astigmatism. And very thin corneas. I had already been told at a different place that I did not qualify for Lasik. They said PRK would work for me. So I went to Lasik plus for a PRK consultation. Unless I misunderstood what a consultation means, I expect this is where they test to see if you are eligible, right? I guess not. The consultation was brief (I would have preferred a lengthy but thorough consultation) and they told me that I qualify for PRK and set me up for an appointment. They even told me to take days off after the day of my surgery to recover. I let my work know and was ready. The day of the surgery, I went in and was given a Valium in preparation. When I was next in line, the surgeon took one look at my chart and said that I do not qualify for PRK. I was so upset! The point of the consultation is to see if I'm qualified, right??? At this point, I had already made the payment which at least they refunded, my shifts at work had already been given to someone else so I stayed home during the recovery time. I did not want to take back the shifts from the person they were given to. The entire thing was such a waste of my time. I am very grateful that the surgeon took a final look at my chart because if he went forward with the surgery, who knows what would have happened to my eyes! And also he recommended me to Dr. Sharpe in Bellevue who specializes in my level of astigmatism. If you choose to go here, make sure the consultation is thorough. Insist on it! Everything happened within a week! My consultation was on Monday and I was told I'd be a good candidate for Lasik. The staff were very nice and very informative. A lot of negative reviews had to do with the office feel or the credit card or the marketing but I did not have any issues. They provide you a lot of information so if you choose not to read it you can't blame them! The credit card is for those who wish to pay over time. If you don't want to, you don't have to sign up for it. By Thursday I had my surgery! I was incredibly nervous but everything happened so fast I really had nothing to be nervous about. Dr. Walker was very nice and patient and gave me every opportunity to ask questions. Procedure itself was a breeze. I barely felt anything at all! The tool they use to hold the eye in place did give some pressure, but nothing I'd complain about. The laser was easy as well and I will say there is a burned hair smell while the laser is on (only lasts 8 seconds). Within 45 minutes of entering the building I was done! Post op was manageable. The first few hours were incredibly uncomfortable. Once I was able to fall asleep however I felt a lot better. The "burning" sensation felt more like sunscreen or soap in my eyes rather than cutting an onion. The eye drops were amazing at soothing the burn though! It's been two weeks now and I am so happy I got lasik! The glare in the lights at night caused by my astigmatism is finally gone. I will say my left eye has healed significantly better and faster than my right. However, they did say each eye can heal differently and it takes months to fully heal so I am optimistic. In post op checkup after getting LASIK yesterday. All the staff are really helpful and not pushy. They're just trying to help and we're extremely kind. The surgery itself was kind of anxiety-producing but it didn't hurt and they provided calming and encouraging support for me as I was pretty nervous. The smell of the laser cutting your eye is as bad as everyone says. The pain after the eye numbing drops wore off (2h after surgery) was not as bad as tear gas; so for those of you who've been in the military, it's a cakewalk. Not touching my eyes is difficult but I managed over night, and now in post op checkup. I've got 20/15 vision.. and even though things are slightly hazy and I'm a little swollen, I can see anything and everything perfectly fine to drive or do whatever I want. Warning! They are only and all about marketing. Not you, your care, and your medical needs. I would never recommend this location to anyone. I have never been to a medical facility with such lack of professional attention and morale. There were significant amount of problems in their ethics and in hindsight I would never have allowed them to perform any type of intricate and delicate procedure, never the less, Lasik eye surgery. The best way I can explain my experience is from start to finish: 1. They significantly lack professional customer service, at each level of the staff index. The receptionists have zero professional tactic in addressing issues and they were far too casual in their manner of speaking with patients. I appreciate a friendly environment, but treating me as if I weren't a patient at a professional clinic is absurd and irresponsible. Street talk is simply not appropriate in a medical environment. 2. They "process" you the day of your Lasik eye surgery with such urgency, it is beyond degrading. I had no chance to actually sit down and calmly speak to the doctor, instead, him and his technicians undeniably RUSHED me in and out of their double door surgery room as if another hamster on their wheel. Which is undoubtedly how I felt. 3. What I could not ever believe was that they they would record my surgical procedure on Facebook LIVE! When I finally realized what was happening, I immediately urged the technician to stop recording. And as if nothing had ever happened neither her or the doctor ever apologized for this huge mishap. Rather they went on to lie to me that it was never posted so there was nothing to worry about. However, it being recorded on Facebook LIVE means it never needed to be posted to be viewed. It was viewable to the entire public from the moment they pressed "record". Their lies were such a slap in the face, with no regard to my privacy and feelings towards the incident. 4. When I went back for my check up in the following weeks, I mentioned this disturbing mishap to the lead supervisor and she sent me home with a chocolate bar as an apology. I couldn't help but continue to feel the impact of their degrading demeanor and attention. I didn't need a chocolate bar- I wanted a sincere and honest apology from the doctor himself. Being it is his office, his staff and his wrongful and unethical implementation of practice. 5. Lastly, I was near sighted when I had my procedure done. I now have constant vision issues because I am now far sighted and have astigmatism. Two issues I never had before. My current symptoms now are: blurry and fuzzy vision, it is difficult for me to focus my vision, my eyes become very easily tired and stressed, which gives me tension headaches, and my eyes are so much more dry than they ever have been. Symptoms that they said would go away in the first few months post Lasik, however, I have waited over a year to write a review to confirm whether this would be true. And to further validate their incompetence, these are all constant issues that appear to be with me for the long haul now. Self care is the best care... I've been wearing contacts and glasses for probably 20 years. When Lasik came around, I'd gripe about the price - then naturally go blow money on everything else that destroys my body (really damn good food and lots of alcohol). Without a doubt I could have afforded Lasik 100 times if I didn't eat and drink as much as I did over the last two decades lol. So pulled the trigger and got it done with Dr. Walker at Lasik Plus. I was there for a total of 3 hours just awaiting my turn, filling out paper work and getting testing done. The procedure itself is maybe 15 minutes. The entire staff and crew there is very welcoming and calm and explained everything. Not gonna lie, I was anxious - during the procedure Dr. Walker talked the entire time of what he was doing and what to expect. It didn't hurt one bit. But Id be lying if I didn't have anxiety the whole time because I hate things going near my eyes. However things went by so fast... The most discomforting thing is when they press the lends onto your eyes - there are very very bright lights and the pressure is equivalent to someone pushing their thumbs onto your eyes, you don't feel the contact but you can feel the pressure. Recovery time post surgery wasn't bad, there was slight discomfort in feeling like my eyeballs themselves were tired and heavy. And feeling a little irritated, but next morning... I habitually reached for my glasses but upon opening my eyes, I realized I can see! Hopping in the shower and I could see shampoo bottles and read labels! Things we're still a hair blurry as my eyes are still recovering and light sensitivity was a bit blinding but by mid afternoon things we're amazingly clear. Went in for my consultation appointment a few minutes early - the receptionist missed some paperwork that I needed to fill and almost had me sign a form to run a credit check... but! luckily I asked. Such a great service right...Since that was figured out and done - I sat for about another hour and someone else with consultation appointment walked in and was walked back into the room instantly! After asking the receptionist when I was being called in they rather just gossip instead and then I was finally called up to the back. I don't like to leave bad reviews, I'll explain why I'm writing this. They have a radio ad going on that advertises $250 per eye, so a total of $500 for both eyes. Ok, seems too good to be true so I call and they tell me that it's a special promotion and my eyes have to "qualify". Sounds good, so I go into my appointment and am left in a waiting room for 45 minutes to just hang out. Again, no big deal I get it, people are busy. The consultation was good, figured out my prescription but then at the end of it, was told I would need to come back a second time because I needed to not wear contacts for a couple days (never once was told to do this before I came in) Whatever, now I'm mildly irritated that it's going to take another hour long drive to Renton from Bellevue and an extra couple days of not wearing contacts. The front desk lady says she is going to make the estimate, another 10 minutes goes by and she's done. The total is $3,900 which is almost 10 times the price they advertise on radio. I really highly doubt anyone has even got the $250 per eye deal and if I'm going to pay $3900 for lasik I'm going to Sharpe Vision in Bellevue where the facilities are about a thousand times nicer. I was expecting maybe $500 per eye, but not $1900 per eye. I feel like they just try to get people in and swindle them into paying so much more, and they finance everyone so I'm sure a lot of people go for it. But I strongly advise anyone who is thinking of going here, to not. The ethics of this place are disgusting and now I completely don't trust this company without even having the procedure. read more

My experience with LasikPlus Vision Center in Renton was amazing from start to finish. When I first called to inquire about a consultation I spoke to a woman who was extremely kind and knowledgeable. She was able to get me scheduled for a next day consultation! My consultation went great. The staff was extremely knowledgeable and Dr. Balani was so helpful. She told me I was a great candidate for Lasik. The booking staff was able to give me an incredibly fair quote and get me scheduled one week later. My surgery appointment was a breeze. I felt like I was completely taken care of and given the highest level of service. Dr. Walker talked me through each and every movement and it felt like a few minutes and it was done. There was no pain and I was in and out in barely over an hour (including prep and wait time). He is seriously good! My post op appointment was 4 days later and I am already testing at 20/20 vision in both eyes. They were very impressed and I was beyond pleased. My vision is only supposed to get better. The service is terrible. Don't go to this place. They don't care about the patient feelings. They are short of stuff and the stuff are not well trained. 1. For the free consultation. I called TLC to make appointment. I don't know why they sent me here. Probably they are same owner, but nobody told me. 2. For the free consultation, I waited two hours to see the doctor. 3. After the doctor, nobody talked to me about the price and details in the clinic. They asked me to go home to wait for the phone call. 4. The office lady called me at 7:30pm, we talked about the price and details. I asked her to send me quote to my email. She said yes, but she never did. 5. I called their phone number several times to ask them to send me the quote. Finally, I received simple email from them. Not formal quote at all. Just few words including price and expiration date. Nothing else. And the date is wrong. (Not the date they promised through the phone) 6. I left message through their website, asked for manager's email to send out the complaint letter. They gave me a wrong email address. My complaint email got returned. So, I have to type my complaint letter here to let everybody knows about their service. read more

Holy x-ray vision Batman!! I've been contemplating getting lasik for some time now. I hate glasses and contacts. My reluctance came from the price, the hassle but mostly I was a skeptic. How can they possibly guarantee vision better vision than glasses?! Oh man was I proven wrong. Immediately after 24 hours I noticed the difference. I'm 3 days post procedure and just had my follow up appointment. I'm healing well and holy crap, my vision is 20/15!! Better than the standard 20/20. I definitely recommend. read more

I cannot recommend this team enough! I've been going back and forth about lasik for years, and finally decided to do it. I found they had a pretty hefty discount for health care workers and decided to try a free consultation. They called back shortly after saying they had a surgeon coming in on a Saturday (which I NEVER expected) so did I want same day treatment? Sure! Best decision I ever made. I walked in shortly after 8am and walked out before 11 with better eyesight than I ever could have hoped for. Dr Balani helped alleviate my fears and reassured me she would hand me off and I'd follow up with her. I went from glasses for the last 20 years to 20/15 vision in a matter of days. I'm writing my first Yelp review ever without glasses after over 8 years on Yelp! Bottom Line Up Front: I'm about 17 1/2 hours post op after Lasik and my vision has improved dramatically. As of late last night there's no more residual discomfort or pain from my procedure. So far I'm happy with my decision and my experience at LasikPlus. I showed up Monday at 8:30 for my scheduled eye exam. The exam was very thorough and took close to two hours (including some waiting time in between procedures, particularly while my eyes were dilating.) At the end of the exam, I was informed by the optometrist that I am definitely a candidate for PRK, but my corneas were a little thinner that most and I may not be a candidate for LASIK. The doctor was going to call me later in the day to confirm after she could discuss with the Dr Walker (who actually performs the procedures). I was also informed I could save $300 if I could schedule and get the procedure done this Friday. There was no pressure to make a quick decision, but the $300 incentive was brilliant. Without it, I may have tended to put off the procedure for weeks or months and ultimately never get it, but the opportunity to have the procedure in the same week and save $$ was enough for me to get 'er done. I was able to connect with the doctor the next day after a little game of phone tag. This time I made sure to answer my phone where I was surprised to learn that I was indeed a candidate for LASIK which has a faster recovery than PRK. This made it an option for me to do on Friday. I scheduled the appointment for 1:45PM and a follow up post op for the following Monday at 8:30AM (exactly a week after my initial exam). I showed up at about 1:30PM on Friday for my procedure. While in the waiting room, I had to finish up some paperwork, pay for the procedure, and watch a video on how to use the eye drops. The total was about $3650 including almost $1100 in discounts. This was for the lifetime plan. My eyes had both an astigmatism, near nearsightedness, and farsightedness so I needed the enhanced laser. LasikPlus advertises costs as low as $250 per eye, but I have no problem paying what I paid. I imagine the lower cost treatments are for eyes that were in better shape than mine. At about 3:00PM I was called back for my procedure and taken to another waiting room a little closer to the laser room. When I got there a previous patient who had been called back at least 20 minutes earlier was also waiting in that room. I finally got called back into an exam room about 3:30PM (give or take a few minutes). I watched another brief video of Dr Walker explaining the procedure which helped calm my nerves a bit. A minute or two later the Dr walked in and took a look in my eyes, He asked if I had any questions and put some eye drops in my eyes to "constrict blood vessels". I then followed him into the room where the giant laser machines were and he asked me to take my glasses off and set them on the table. "They won't work any more after this." They gave me a pillow and had me lay down in the first laser machine that cuts the "flap" in your cornea so the next laser can shape it. There were at least two more drops of some sort put in my eye, then they inserted something to make it impossible to blink after taping an eye patch over my other eye. Cutting the flap was painless. As they said, I did feel a little pressure, but it wasn't as bad as my mind made me think it would be. When they finished with one eye, they cut the flap in the second eye. The laser treatment only took 9 seconds per eye. There is a moment when the green light you're asked to focus on is very blurry and then you start to see it better. It is actually pretty cool. During the 9 seconds there was a smell of something burning but there was no pain. The strangest part was seeing a little "squeegee" on my eye after the flap was put in place. I couldn't feel it, but definitely not something you see every day. The procedure was over quickly and the doctor had me sit down. The doctor said to expect in about a half hour that my eyes would begin to hurt. He told me the pain will be worse than I'm expecting and that its best to get some rest for the next 4 hours with my eyes closed. It was about 3:50PM when I left the center. By the time we got home my eyes had started to burn mildly. I laid down to nap, but had a little trouble sleeping at first. I finally dozed off and my wife woke me about 7:45 (3 hours post op) for dinner. This was by far the worst time to wake up. My eyes were burning and felt like sandpaper. My eyes were also tearing up so much that it was hard to keep them open. About 30 mins later I began using the drops as prescribed. About an hour or two later the burning subsided and the sandpaper feeling was sporadic instead of constant. I went to bed and when I woke up I felt much better! read more

This was an amazing experience. I put this off for 15 years even when it was offered to me for free by the Air Force. It literally took a couple minutes and it was painless. It's simple you lay down you hold still, two minutes later you're all done. The most you will feel is a little bit of pressure on your eyes as if you were placing a contact lens into your eyeball. Then you sit up and it's like a miracle. If you were like me and have been putting this off for year after year do yourself a favor and go get it done it is so quick and over almost as soon as it starts. Don't get caught up in the price the employees there told me they've only come across three people who have ever had good enough eyes where it only cost $250. Expect it to be about $1600 dollars an eye, it is well worth it. Plus you can easily get financed if need be. Bottom line get it done now Elexis is amazing. read more

One of my friends recommended me to this clinic as he got his PRK done here. I was surprised how fast the overall procedure was from consultation to the day of surgery. You could even have the option of doing day-of consultation LASIK if you had a driver with you. The staff was super kind, helpful and really supportive. I felt also that they did a very thorough job of looking at the health of my eyes. I really appreciated them. They helped me get through my nervousness and the tears that came along with the anxiety when it was time for the lasers to correct my vision. During the surgery, they really do try their best to prepare you for what you are about to experience. You have the option of hugging the dear life out of a pillow - which I did. Also, I never held so still in my whole life, but they do a nice job of kindly reminding you to just relax and hold still. Once they lay you down and start creating the flap, you'll notice that everything goes dark and then you essentially see a light show happen in your eyeball. Honestly, I feel like the creation of the flap was probably the most anxiety-inducing, especially after they create the flap and you're blinking and you can feel the flap via your eyelid. When they bring you to the next machine to do the laser correction, it's basically seeing more lights of red, green and white. Not going to lie, I felt emotional opening my eyes and realizing that everything was pretty clear with some haze. Again, the doctor and medical staff were all so nice and humorous. We took a picture wearing the rad glasses afterwards. 1-2 hours post-op was the worst burning sensation I've felt in my eyes. It kind of feels like when you accidentally use the hydrochloric acid contact solution to rinse your contacts and stuck those contacts in your eye. I managed to force myself to nap (I recommend doing an early morning appointment) and my eyes felt soooo much better after the nap. My eyes were kind of glued shut from the mucus and tears due to the surgery, so that was a little difficult to get the antibacterial drops in. Before the surgery, I was a very avid eye rubber. Naturally, the day after I accidentally rubbed my left eye. The staff is available for any emergency calls (like just in case you rub your eye the day after because it might re-open the flap) or something accidentally hits your newly corrected eyes. I called early evening, and they were able to get back to me with the very same doctor who did the surgery on my eyes within ~30 minutes. Amazing. I had a Lasik consultation scheduled for 9:15 am yesterday. I arrived on time and was given two forms to complete. The first form was standard and the woman at the desk advised me that the second form was information about payment plans if I was interested in that. Well, what she should have said is that it was a credit card application! The form was already filled out with my information too! Never in all my years have I received a credit card application from a doctor's office already populated! Now, if that wasn't already a turn-off. I then waited in the lobby until about 10a for someone to begin my consultation! I spent about 15 minutes with the technician who performed my initial screening and she was lovely. When she finished her portion, she transferred me to a different room for the doctor to continue the evaluation. I sat in that room from 10:15 to 10:45 and not a single person came in to check on me or update me in any way. I decided to leave. I went to the front desk and told them how long I had been waiting and that I had to go to the airport to pick up my 10-year-old niece. I walked to my car and as I started it, a woman I hadn't yet seen came out and told me the office was having some logistical problems and the doctor could see me now. I told her I had to leave for the airport to pick up my niece. She then asked me if I wanted to come back with my niece! Excuse me?! I told her I was not coming back with a 10-year-old who has already been on a plane for 4 hours so she could wait for me to finish this consultation! If this practice is going to charge $4000 for Lasik, the least they could do is BE ON TIME! read more
