West Seattle Vision is the perfect example. Doctors, front desk staff and skilled professional opticians here and we've been working with them for years. Love it. Being a technology nerd I appreciate it when my healthcare providers use state of the art equipment like optical coherence tomography and widefield imaging and you'll get that here. I had my initial eye exam on 11/2023 and got a new contacts and glasses prescription from them. After a couple weeks of wearing the new contacts my eyes started being super sore and burning so I went to see an ophthalmologist who told me that my contacts are not fitting correctly and are irritating my eyes. I Emailed Dr.Long and asked for another consultation to fix the original prescription, they said they'll review the ophthalmologist's notes and get back to me. Then I was completely ghosted by them even after follow-up Emails (For context, I emailed on 1/5/24 and the posting date of this review is 1/24/24, no response so far). On top of that, both the receptionist and the doctor sounded very rude and condescending on the Email, basically suggesting that it's not their fault and not taking ANY responsibility for my care. I had to go see another optometrist after these people ghosted me for two weeks, and was told that the prescription I got from SODO vision was overcorrecting my vision, which caused my eyes to be exhausted and overly irritated. If Dr. Long had me come in right away and been responsible about my care, it would've taken less than 2 days to resolve the issue. But because of their lack of communication and irresponsibility, my vision issues dragged for 2 weeks and I lost over $400 in office visit fees and ordering the wrong contacts and glasses. I literately stated in my Email that I don't care whose fault it was, I just wanted my eyes and vision to get looked at and get better. But their failure to provide me with adequate care and communication was extremely unprofessional. I strongly suggest you find someone else for your care.

I had eye exam here once and another time for check up cause I had an allergic reaction and my eyes were red and puffy. The first time there for the eye exam I was on time (few mins early so they are not even open yet, but it took them 45 mins to finally see me after I finished all the paper work. It took longer than I expected and had to get to work later than I assumed. It was not decent already but the front desk clerk clearly was annoyed by everything. Second time was better since it's different front desk person. however the long wait is just... making me ask why. Especially I had eye exam elsewhere and it's usually just 5-10 mins wait for the doctor to get ready for my case. I assume you have prepared to meet me as I scheduled the appointment weeks before? Oh and I heard doctors and staffs just chitchatting in the hallway while I'm waiting???? They didn't call back that day, instead, took them one full day to finally call me back at 4PM next day. Not in the morning nor afternoon...Actual 25 hours later. It's not a Monday call, yet took you full day to call back an existed customer. The lady on the phone is nice but you can tell she's not good at phone calls. "huh?" a couple times and was very slow. Um. Hire a person that knows how to answer phone calls? No thank you. After that, I immediately called another place I went to 3 years back and they actually answered my phone call right away and got me scheduled in a 2 mins phone call, and texted the time and date of the appointment to me after. That's true customer service right there!!! This place is SO WEIRD. The whole vibe is just weird and not professional. It's a place for slow service and not updated system. I understand they are older people, but doesn't mean as a professional provider, you can still use your 70s system and think it's ok. Took them way too long to call back and even scheduled it will take so long for you to get an eye exam. Bye bye forever. I am not going back to waste my time. Not everyone is retired and have so much time for a full day off eye exam. I hope they can improve their systems and work with a happy yet not fully relaxing vibe, as if patients is not important and they can chat whenever they can.

On 8/12, I called to check if my glasses were ready because I am traveling soon. I was told that they would call me back on 8/13. When I called back on 8/13, I was informed that the glasses were not ready and that they had forgotten to place the order. I explained that it had already been over a month and that I urgently needed my glasses because I cannot see properly without them, especially since I am traveling. The lady told me that they would send me a copy of my eye prescription so I could order glasses wherever I am traveling to.
