Nice Staff at front; clear, friendly and helpful. Dr Long has done a contact and regular eye glass exam. He's a good optometrist. Did everything very thoroughly. He was quick but communicated very succinctly that's why it went quickly. I had the optional retina test and he brought up images amd explained how nothing was wrong and what they'd look for if there were. I like that you can set up appointments online instead of waiting for receptionist and doing verbally. Not in network with VSP. read more

If you want your vision to be OVERCORRECTED, then get ghosted by Dr. Long when you contact them again to try to change your prescription, be my guest and come to this place. I had my initial eye exam on 11/2023 and got a new contacts and glasses prescription from them. After a couple weeks of wearing the new contacts my eyes started being super sore and burning so I went to see an ophthalmologist who told me that my contacts are not fitting correctly and are irritating my eyes. I Emailed Dr.Long and asked for another consultation to fix the original prescription, they said they'll review the ophthalmologist's notes and get back to me. Then I was completely ghosted by them even after follow-up Emails (For context, I emailed on 1/5/24 and the posting date of this review is 1/24/24, no response so far). On top of that, both the receptionist and the doctor sounded very rude and condescending on the Email, basically suggesting that it's not their fault and not taking ANY responsibility for my care. I had to go see another optometrist after these people ghosted me for two weeks, and was told that the prescription I got from SODO vision was overcorrecting my vision, which caused my eyes to be exhausted and overly irritated. If Dr. Long had me come in right away and been responsible about my care, it would've taken less than 2 days to resolve the issue. But because of their lack of communication and irresponsibility, my vision issues dragged for 2 weeks and I lost over $400 in office visit fees and ordering the wrong contacts and glasses. I literately stated in my Email that I don't care whose fault it was, I just wanted my eyes and vision to get looked at and get better. But their failure to provide me with adequate care and communication was extremely unprofessional. I strongly suggest you find someone else for your care. read more

I moved to Seattle and was looking for a good optometrist. My fiance recommended I try Costco where SODO Vision Care is located. I'm glad I went! Appointment Process: We called about 1.5 weeks beforehand to schedule time at 10am Saturday. Their office called a week before to confirm insurance (ours was VSP) and sent detailed info on what to do prior to the appointment. I filled out the Patient Portal beforehand to save some time, while my fiance didn't (and she just did it in the office). Both worked fine. Day of Appt: We arrived right before our appointment time (though we tried to make it 10 minutes early). They took us in right away after doing a quick eye pressure test. Dr. Leigh Kim brought us into the exam room. Dr. Leigh Kim: We really liked her! Super professional, explained every single step of the process. She took time to understand our vision history and showed us the differences between or old prescription and new. Then she gave tips to protect our eyes from getting worse in the future. She also explained the various tests she can do, and was very transparent about the cost upfront. Afterwards, she took us to the front, we got our prescriptions, paid our copay, and off we went to enjoy the Costco foodcourt. Note: You can get glasses right nextdoor at Costco optical (it's separate from SODO Vision). I found a great pair of glasses there so it's a nice place to checkout after your appointment. After having a terrible time with a different Seattle optometry office, SODO Vision Care feels like a godsend. Last week I had been calling around to different offices all over Seattle trying to get an appointment in before I go out of the country at the end of the month. I was on my last pair of contacts and desperately needed to get an order of new ones in before departing. I kept having no luck (everywhere booked through August) until my friend suggested going to the eye clinic in Costco. I kind of had an icky feeling about going to Costco to have my eyes taken care of but I see now that my worries were nothing but ill-founded misconceptions. After calling and verifying that they took my insurance (VSP), they were able to get me an appointment only 3 days later! The receptionist I spoke with over the phone was very kind and pleasant. When I arrived for my appointment, the receptionist was so sweet and patient with her initial instructions for me to remove my contacts prior to the eye exam. She also had a Zelda dress on, so extra cool points for her. Within 5 minutes the O.D. came out, Dr. Kim, and called me in to start my eye exam. She was really nice, professional, patient, and took time to answer all my questions. She did a great job, especially as someone that's only been practicing since 2017. She got me a pair of contacts to sample and gave me an extra lens in a slighter stronger power for me to test and see if I liked better. Checking out with the Zelda dress receptionist was, again, a nice experience. My exam came with a glasses prescription that she handed me and then she was helpful in giving extra instructions and tips on what I needed to do to order my contacts in time for my trip. Cherry on top was when my bill came out to just $35, which was significantly less than what I was expecting to pay for an eye exam, dilation, AND contact lens fitting. I will definitely continue to come here. Also, all the O.D.s are Asian!! Gotta support my people. read more

Ive been a patient at SODO Vision for 1.5yrs since I moved to Seattle. I chose SODO vision because its in close proximity to my job and I assumed the customer service would be good (being inside of costco). I am giving SODO vision a 1 star review because I was in emergency need of sample contacts and I was rudely turned away by the receptionist Andrea. I was shocked at her lack of effort and care. I tried explaining that my contacts, which i ordered through costco, were back ordered 4 weeks without notice and I was in emergency need of samples to get me by. Not to mention, I have an upcoming bicycling race I have been training for months and it will now be ruined if I cannot see. Andrea did not consult with anyone, she had a bad attitude, and my emergency situation did not matter at all to her. She seemed annoyed and ended the conversation by telling me to try a different Costco. She said SODO vision could not help me. I drove to a different Costco in shoreline where I was assured by a sweet staff that my personal optician should be able to take care of me. They explained to me that my doctor can issue sample contacts even if they are not the exact fit (in an emergency). I eventually contacted SODO vision again to ask why they turned me away and I was told they could issue me sample contacts after all. Upon finally driving back to SODO vision I was once again greeted by Andrea who seemed upset (not sure why nor at who). She gave me my contacts and sternly said "this is the last time we can do this for you because you have received one other sample in the past." This is upsetting because at this point I am unsure if this is Andreas policy or an actual policy that SODO Vision enforces. They should be clear with their policy-whatever it may be. Secondly, I was never told why I was turned away in the beginning and lastly, no customer deserves to scorned by an receptionist. I dont think two sample contacts in almost two years is a big issue especially in the middle of a pandemic but apparantly it is a huge issue for SODO vision. Be aware that the customer service at SODO vision is poor. They are not helpful and they turn their customers away if it causes extra work for them. After this experience, I have decided to change to a more customer service oriented optometrist. Good luck! read more

They say you can't have cheap, easy and good. SoDo Vision breaks the rules and is all of those. Really easy online scheduling. Clear website. Communicative staff that reached out to confirm info before the appointment and easy to get a hold of on the phone. The Dr was kind, friendly and efficient. The appointment without insurance was really affordable compared to other offices. Plus cheap and convenient glasses from Costco right outside the door. All in all a great experience and I wish I would have found them sooner! read more

I have been a customer of Sodo Vision care for 10 years. One year ago I was referred to an ophthalmologist from Sodo Vision. Apparently according to Evergreen eye care in Seattle I have been suffering from Glaucoma for 20 years or more. I didn't know this. I had been reviewed by Sodo Vision for the last 10 years and they did not inform me of this. I have lost vision in my right eye because Sodo Vision did not diagnose my properly and refer me to an Ophthalmologist. I feel they are directly responsible. Really great experience. Fast and convenient - the office itself is fairly sparse. But they get you in and get you out quickly. Eye exam was pretty straightforward - a little bit of chit chat and and perfunctory questions. But I'm the end - my check up has been easy and problem free. They didn't take my insurance unfortunately but with the convenience of getting in last minute & only losing about 45 min of my day. Out if pocket was fine. read more

So, I originally scheduled an appointment for Wednesday 03.28.2018 at 5:15, but realized I wouldn't make it on time from my 9-5 job so I requested a new appointment time for Saturday 04.07.2018, and got the email confirmation that the Saturday appointment was confirmed. I call and leave a voicemail to request the Wednesday appointment be cancelled but no one ever called back to confirm so I sent an email to cancel the Wednesday appointment and again, no confirmation. Long story short, my Saturday appointment was cancelled without anyone telling so I showed up and the receptionist just said it was cancelled. Granted, she was nice and courteous about it but I feel my time was wasted when all they had to do was communicate with me before I even showed up. read more

At first glance, it was hard to see there was an optometrist inside this lovely Costco. But when I walked in... my world never looked the same again. They quickly set me up with an appointment for the following week, confirmed via email and calendar invite, and also confirmed with a text message reminder. Upon my return, I met with Dr. Leigh Kim and she did both my eyeglass and contact prescriptions in under an hour. So fast! I've been here twice, once for an eyeglasses exam and once for a contacts exam, about a year apart. I enjoy coming here because I don't have to wait long and everything runs quite smoothly. There's not a lot of waiting space however as long as you're on time for your appointment it shouldn't be a problem. I've seen 2 different doctors, Dr. Long and the other I don't remember, however they were both very calm and easy to talk to. I would definitely recommend this clinic. And it's conveniently located inside Costco so I can pick up a bit of shopping afterwards! read more

Update: 5/9 I still believe my experience with Dr. Kim was amazing but my recent phone conversation with Gabby was terrible. She was not trying to listen to what I was saying and had a huge attitude. It was so unnecessary to be that rude. I think a big part of answering the phone is understanding where your clients are coming from and she was horrid. Dr. Kim had prescribed me eye drops and said to use it for a week so I could try new contacts. I just wanted Dr. Kim to see if they worked because she did not tell me if I needed to schedule a follow up with her or what my eyelids should look like. Gabby said about ten times (with an attitude) that the policy is for a medical exam which is $75-$100 out of pocket. It was just a shock because Dr. Kim did not tell me before if I would need to follow up or not and what should happen after the drops were used. I asked Gabby if she could just ask Dr. Kim and then get back to me and she still proceeded to be rude and say that she can do that but the policy would still be the same. All I wanted was an answer from Dr. Kim. To me it makes sense why I would be confused as I was not told all of this before. It seems extra unnecessary for there to be a medical examination of $75-$100 when I just wanted to check in with Dr. Kim. But even if it is necessary the best thing that gabby could have said is.. I totally understand your concern. Let me ask the doctor and get back to you. Then I would have been happy to pay whatever fee she wanted me to pay! Poor customer service and a large attitude. I was looking forward to coming into the office for all my future eye exams. I thought I finally found a place but if they continue to keep someone like gabby with no empathy on their team then I don't want to go back. read more

This is my third or fourth time getting an eye exam at SODO Vision Care. I'm always pleased with the service, they make it so easy to book appointments online, make it simple to do the paperwork ahead of time and the cost is extremely reasonable. Over the years I've gone elsewhere and always felt pressured at other offices to do extra tests and felt way overcharged. Here the service is excellent and the cost more than fair (about half what I've paid elsewhere and the service at SODO is better), what more can you ask for? In the event that our insurance changed due to my husband's retirement our private insurance led me to Dr Kim at SODO Vision Care. The level of courtesy from the reception to technician was a pretty good indicator that this office was very professional. After being examined by Dr Kim I appreciated her professionalism and explanation as to why she was going to refer me to an ophthalmologist. That afternoon I received a phone call for the referral she had put in place by the time I had left her office that morning. Would recommend anyone to this doctor and staff. read more

I've seen Dr Vo twice in the last 16 months for vision testing. I had RK 30 years ago and Cataract Surgery 3 years ago. I have scar tissue from both procedures and finding an Optometrist who knows how to work with these issues has been very difficult. I have never ever had to interrupt a doctors appointment to let the doctor know why after 20 years of doing business with an agency, I had to call it quits. I had such terrible customer service at this location, the first time I had come since the new company took over. I won't put up with indignant teenagers or young twenty somethings. I asked the desk girl to get my rx from another location. She was doing nothing and the office was very light for traffic. She couldn't because she said she was sooo busy. It went on. Just indignant lazy, no interest in the customers needs. Not what I will pay for ever again. I am a business owner and my clients get the very best from me. DON'T GO HERE!!!
