My boyfriend and I made reservations here at 8 pm last night for Valentine's Day. We didn't realize they closed at 9 and felt so bad for making a reservation so late however they didn't make us feel rushed in the slightest. Our server was so attentive and so sweet. We ordered the gnocchi and formaggio for our appetizer, SO good. My boyfriend ordered the pasta sampler (excuse me, I don't remember what it was called) and I ordered the grilled salmon with asparagus and risotto. Both so incredible dishes. For dessert, we ordered slices of both cakes they were offering. 1 being the traditional wedding cake- and OH. MY. GOD. The cake was seriously to die for. I wish I would have ordered an entire cake. Between the service, the meals, the ambiance, me and my boyfriend had a wonderful time and enjoyed our meal very much. Truly a wonderful experience...thank you guys! read more

This is one of the best restaurants in the area!! The food is remarkable and everyone is so friendly and welcoming. This is the "go to place" for special occasions and when entertaining out of town guests. I would just plead with the chef to offer the Filet Mignon Pizza more often. IT IS AMAZING! Our first visit to this restaurant. I must say, we were welcomed from the time we walked in to the time we left. Our dinners were wonderful and we had to get our dessert to go as we were to full to eat any more. Our waitress was very attentive and made us feel right at home. Okay. I might be a food snob on this one. The pasta was ok..either made that day or week but made in house. The sauce however is not that fresh or flavourful. Salad wasn't crisp at all, bread was okay but I wouldn't say fresh. Nice calamari but my fish was a but undercooked and definately thawed to order. I would agree that the waitress was a bit trashy.. I hate using that word but she sucked all the borderline fine dining experience out of the room. My grandparents would like this place due to the type of italian they serve and the menu, but there are far better Italian places with fresh foods, finer dining and cheaper. Ordered a soda, came in very small glass and all ice...finished before salads even came, never received a refill and cost $2.50. Ordered filet medium and shrimp, $35 meal and filet was WELL DONE! I never send food back so I just dealt with it. Decided on "fresh" strawberry shortcake for dessert, for $8 you would expect it to be fresh but came to find out when served, canned or frozen straberries, and they are supposed to be known for desserts??? We went there for Valentine's Day and had made "reservations" at least two weeks ahead of time. We got there 10 minutes before our reservation and were not seated until 25 minutes AFTER. As soon as we walked in there was a long line of couples (all who had made reservations). As we were waiting there were about 3 or 4 additional couples at the bar and apparently they had been waiting for over a half an hour past their reservations. The hostess proceeded to argue with them in front of the customers. When we were seated, the waitress was not even friendly and we didn't see a smile out of her the whole night. I had never been there before but knew the restaurant was pricey and expected at least decent food. When the food came, there was not much flavor and the presentation was sloppy. We left wondering how the restaurant had been around for so long and despite it being a holiday, why it was not more organized and why a restaurant would not be prepared on day that is so important to their field of business. read more

We ate at Visaggio's for the first time since it has reopened. As it is three days since our meal that I am writing this review, I glanced at some of the other reviews and was shocked. From our experience, everything was delicious and the service superior. Our party of 6 was there to celebrate a family member's birthday. The appetizers we ordered were absolutely scrumptious. I had the fried gnocchi, my sister has the fried cheese, my mom loved the the sausage and peppers. The fresh baked bread was so good. We ordered dinner and everyone loved their selection. I would definitely order the cheese ravioli again! The sauce was delicious! Our server was attentive and focused. Looking forward to a return visit. read more

New Years Eve 2014 After eating at many restaurants in the Hbg area over the last 50 years including Visaggios in the past I was quite surprised to find the menu pricing as high priced as it was. With no vegetables on the side and not including even a house salad for the average 30 dollar meals was disappointing. The main entries we tried were tasty but you better not be a big eater. The hot olive oil with the bread should come with a warning. Luckily I carefully sampled the bread and oil because it was extremely hot and my lips burned for most of the dining experience. Returning to dine at Visaggios will not happen with many other fine local restaurants displaying a great experience with lower priced fare. Amazing food but big problem. There's a bottle of wine that I fell in love with. I ended up buying 2 bottles for 36 dollars each! I liked it so much that I decided to find it at a local wine and spirits. Come to find out, that wine is a special order wine only and it costs 17.39. That's freaking crazy! I called last week to make a reservation for Monday, July 2nd. I specifically asked if they would be open. The girl said yes, took my reservation and phone number. The food was alright, unfortunately not worth the price. The pork in the Pork Rustica was good but the sauce was watery. The Frutta D'Mare came with alfredo sauce but is advertised as a white wine sauce. We were moderately disappointed with that. Bartenders were quite busy which led to slower service, I'd imagine on a slower night they're on the ball. The atmosphere there is nice, I'd say it was the best part. We love this place. Romantic feel, wonderful food. Perfect for a nice date night or special occasion. Homemade pastas, especially gnocchi is delicious. We have tried the sampler, which is amazing, the St Gabriel's fire which is a filet mignon dish with eggplant, bacon and spinach. Also came with a side salad and pasta. Pasta is homemade, tomato sauce is delicious. Their homemade fried cheese is delish, next time I think I will try try the calamari. The desert was amazing, save room. All deserts are homemade, they all looked delicious, we ended up getting the homemade chocolate one with ice cream and caramel. Very generous, two can easily share one. We have dined in both the formal and informal dining rooms. So glad to have Visaggio's back after the fire about 2 years ago. It is an excellent Italian option. Recently had the sampler on the formal side. They nicely gave two meatballs rather than one meatball and one piece of sausage. The desserts are fantastic, especially the chocolate ones, so take some of your dinner home to save room for them! The wait staff are delightful-very attentive and pleasant. Many have worked there decades!!! Go here for a quick family dinner or for a special occasion! I haven't been to Visaggios in about 5 years. My date decided to take me there for my birthday. As usual the ambiance and service were excellent, however the food...not so much. It's obvious a chef designed the menu as its excellent. The food last night was not up to par. We decided to split an appetizer...Calamari. it came way overcooked and seemed like it was cooked in old oil. In retrospect, we should have sent it back. We also split the Chopped Salad...now that was really great!. I had the Zia Maria...filet mignon, shrimp and scallops. The filet was served to perfection, the carbonara sauce was virtually tasteless..little to no seasoning, hence not much flavor for the scallops and shrimp, it was supposed to be served over linguine..but I received spaghetti. My date ordered the Vitello Cardinale and was really looking forward to great deal. Two nice sized pieces arrived but again, the breading lacked seasoning. The lump crab on top was seasoned and was excellent. She selected linguine with marinara sauce as the side but got...spaghetti. The marinara sauce was flat...sorry..a bottle of Ragu from the market would have been better...no seasoning. For dessert she ordered the Pot d'creme..it was enormous and excellent. I ordered the Parrozza..boy was that terrific. I also ordered an Amaretto coffee. The waitress brought the Amaretto in an aperitif glass..she said you are paying the same for a teaspoon in the coffee or the apertif... that is Fabulous service and looking out for your guests. Overall a very pleasant evening..but some of the food did not meet expectations...expectations that go along with their reputation. There were only 6 other people in the Formal dining room and 2 more in the Casual dining area, so the quality cannot be blamed on overloaded staff. The Wait staff (2) were very attentive to our needs and very personable. The subdued elegance of the Formal dining room with cloth table cloths and napkins was such a relief from paper place mats and formica tables. I will recommend Visaggios, even though our meals were lacking...perhaps the chef had a night off. read more

Last year my daughters wedding was held at their banquet facility.I am very angry at the negative review about their servers. most of their employees have been with them more than 10 years.I've never met a more lovely hard-working family. My daughters wedding is still receiving rave reviews and most of our guests were from New York. Visaggio's food is exquisite. So, readers beware of such hate in any review you read. Where else can you get pasta and bread made from scratch in central PA? Going to Visaggios is an event. It 's a place to go for the evening, take it easy and enjoy dinner. Any server we have ever had has been professional and allowed us to enjoy our dinner without feeling like we need to get up and leave because there is someone else waiting for our table. Date of meal--June 15, 2016. On the positive side the "fine dining" room was separate from the sports bar blazing TVs. Nice dinner music. Nice table cloth and tableware. Negatives. If you have $100 for two meals you don't know what to do with try them. But don't expect a fine dining experience. The waitress did not introduce herself. The main dish arrived before salads were completed. Once the meal was served she never came back to ask what we needed. Water glasses were not refilled-we had to ask. Service makes for a fine special occasion experience. We did not find it as Vissaggios. Don't waste your money unless you have a hole in your pocket. You can get a better meal at Panera's. Honestly, I'm torn on the rating for this place. The food was mostly 3, maybe even 4, stars, but the service, attitude, and price pulled the rating down. Plus, I hate giving bad reviews - everyone can have an off night. But seeing as Yelp's definition of two stars is "meh" -- that was really my impression. I went to Visaggio's with a friend after work for dinner. It was a very strange experience. We had made reservations since it was Friday night. My friend was in business attire except for her shoes, and I was wearing casual pants. Instead of being warmly greeted, we were looked at as if our clothes were inappropriate, like we didn't "belong" there. Interesting attitude toward customers who had reservations and who were about to drop over $100 for dinner. The restaurant was quite empty, four or five tables total. The wines were great, the entrees really good. The pasta tasted fresh, and my friend raved about her fish. We ordered the appetizer gnocchi fritti; my friend liked it but I thought it was blah. The pots de creme were absolutely the highlight of the meal. That said, the waitresses treated us coldly, ignoring our table, getting short when we weren't ready to order immediately after the cocktails arrived, delivering cold food... If we'd skipped the wine, we would've been ticked. The whole experience was really reminiscent of faded glory. Visaggio's may have been great once, but right now, I would say it isn't worth the price. read more

We stopped looking for a good dinner break on our long drive from Virginia to NYC and what good luck. At arrival we thought we were at a catering hall, but upon being seated we were greeted by Joan, a freindly efficient server with great personality in a lovely setting. The food was great! The pasta's all homemade- served with a great house salad (try the spicy french dressing). The meatball's were fabulous, the veal tender and the pork out of this world. What a wonderful break! It was my girlfriend's birthday, and although Visaggio's has a reputation for being expensive, I thought I'd give it a shot. Upon entering the restaurant, we were quickly greeted by a very friendly hostess, who immediately seated us, even without reservations. Our server was quite congenial, and made my girlfriend feel quite special upon learning it was her birthday. We ordered livio felluga red wine. For just about $40, I can't complain. This was our first trip to the Visaggio's, and we had questions about the different things on the menu. Our server was knowledgeable, and made everything sound good. She suggested the zia maria, as she said it was her favorite. My girlfriend, being a more adventures spirit, decided to try the sea bass with mango sauce. I however, decided to try the zia maria. Gnocchi was the side for the sea bass. My girlfriend, who had never even heard of Gnocchi before, is still talking about it. My server was right, the zia maria is phenomenal. The pasta definitely tasted homemade. The scallops, shrimp, and steak that were atop the pasta were generously portioned, and the sauce seemed to be like Alfredo sauce with bits of bacon in it. Although we were so full, we wanted to try a dessert. We were further impressed by the caliber of service when our server actually brought out a tray of desserts for us to choose from. It was hard to do, but we decided to split the Italian wedding cake. I'm normally not a fan of white cakes, but this was the best cake I ever had. The cake also included a candle to celebrate her birthday. They didn't sing (thank God), but they definitely helped make the moment special. Considering we got a bottle of wine, and the fact that we both got sea food, I wasn't blown away by the bill; especially given the restaurant's luxurious reputation. I've had the pleasure of imbibing at Rosemary's several times since the reopening. On each occasion the service and food have been excellent. I had a veal dish with crab last night which had a complexity of flavor I've not experienced since my last visit to NYC. The first night of the reopening I yearned for the seafood ravioli which was not disappointing. My husband and I had the greatest meal at Visaggio's this week. He ordered filet and I had seafood with pasta. Each bite was so tender and delicious. We have had wonderful experiences at Visaggio's. Our waitress and the hostess were both extremely friendly and enjoyed hearing about our anniversary celebration. We splurged on a shared dessert and were in heaven!
