[[HIGHLIGHT]]Clean restaurant with great service.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The pizza was doughy and greasy, heavy on the top but also the flavor. I prefer a thinner slice with more structure so this would not be my top choice in Omaha.

Amazing pizza! Grabbed a quick lunch with some friends. Service was good and the workers are super friendly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a smaller space so there are just a few booths and tables inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I got a slice of the pepperoni with the side salad. The side salad wasn't my favorite because of the sweet taste to it. My friend liked it though. The pizza was VERY good. Slices are big but thin crust so ends up being the perfect size in my opinion. Will be back to try more!

Another great experience at Virtuoso. Ordered it to pick up and it was done when they said it would be. Nice to be able to use the quick parking spot in front of the Benson Theater to pick up. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Love the vibe in the shop people were just happy to be there both staff and patrons.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Everything was as ordered and checkout process went smooth. Definitely will be back.

Love the pizza, but this time went for the seasonal clam chowder and a dipped Italian beef.. both excellent. Topped it all off with a very good tiramisu.

Another wonderful pizza! Continues to be , in my mind , one of the best pizzas in Omaha for New York style pizza lovers. Great crust, great sauce, and add some of their homemade sausage and you've got the makings of winner. Greatness takes time so plan on waiting at least 30 minutes for pizza or call ahead. Home made cannolis, etc. and we were offered a special treat today to taste their New England clam chowder - Ended up taking some home - yum!! Always a great stop for a super casual meal with many special to go options

Omaha classic for a reason. They do everything amazing. Great crust, sauce, cheese, and toppings. Stone oven baked. Great for one slice or a whole pie. Don't worry, one slice is huge!! Love the thinness of the slices and how it doesn't get soggy. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Relaxed setting with a small amount of seating, but we still found room for a table of 4.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Don't forget to try the Italian margarita in a bag, strong and good! I also liked that you pay at the counter when you order

Cool, family owned pizza place. Counter service was friendly and helpful. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Small but nicely organized dining room.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Pizza was amazing - the crust is flavorful and the perfect mix of crunchy exterior while maintaining a chewy interior. Italian sausage and roasted garlic were both delicious-very flavorful.

Came here with my husband while we were in town based on a recommendation. The pizza was fantastic, and the slices were huge! I got a cheese slice along with a small house salad, and my husband got 2 slices of the pepperoni. The pizza was perfectly cooked, and the ingredients tasted so fresh. The consistency was not too soft, but not too crunchy. Just the way I like it! The salad has a house made balsamic dressing made in house that was delicious. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant itself was very clean and cool.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They had a Ninja Turtles machine I wish I had the cash to play ! Very great service as well. I'd definitely come back next time I'm in Omaha.

Authentic thin crust pizza with the right balance of sauce and cheese. Coming from New York, pizza must be foldable to eat and this was just that! This pic does not do the slice justice cause it was big!

Cheesy Bread with an added side of Marinara

This New York style pizza hits the spot. Giant slices that are light on the cheese but heavy on flavor. They have a few pizzas you can buy by the slice otherwise everything else is in full pies only. They also have a few pastas and a rotating soup. They sell bottles beverages and have a water station. The cheesy bread gives elevated school lunch vibes (in the best way). The bread was similar to a hotdog bun. SO much cheese that got crispy on the edges. Would definitely reco getting a side of Marinara. The Cannoli is 2 little pieces which is perfect for sharing and a great small size after all that pizza. Check out the walk up window for a grab and go slice! They make their Italian sausage in house so give that a try. Parking is a nightmare in Benson so go early. There was a sign that they had parking in the back but I did not check that out.

Virtuoso Pizzeria is a little gem right in our Benson neighborhood. The owner, David Losole, is a certified Pizzaiolo, from the famed Lo Sole Mio restaurant family in Omaha - and the generations of love put Into the food definitely shows. Virtuoso opened a few years back, and we ventured there as soon as they were open (and have been back many times). You can't go wrong with anything you order! The ambiance and service is also a 10/10. Classic pizza shop vibes with a front counter display showing the pizzas on order that day. We usually order pizza (obviously), but my husband also likes to get the Chicago Italian Beef sandwich. It's toasty buns, filled with a ton of Italian beef and giardiniera (pickled peppers). You can get it dipped in au jus or with the au jus on the side - we always get it dipped! The pizza slices are never too greasy and soggy, like some places can be, and the slices are GIGANTIC - almost a fourth of a whole pie. You can eat the slices flat, but it's a little messy that way, so I fold mine in half which makes it a little more manageable. Folding pizza slices in half usually makes the dry crust the first thing you taste, but that is fine here because Virtuoso's crust is actually toasted and tasty! Pizza-wise, we usually get the pepperoni, cheese, or meatball. The pepperoni has a little kick to it, which I enjoy. The cheese is just super cheesy and divine. And the meatball is delish and savory, with almost an airy/flowery flavor that I think comes from the Italian spices. SO GOOD! After your pizza or sandwich, they also have some delectable cannolis - I recommend the Chocolate Nutella! They also have a little walk up window if you want to come to the window and just order a quick slice while walking around the Benson neighborhood. If you are in Benson or passing by, I definitely recommend a stop here if you're craving a good pizza or sandwich!

I joined my friend and his family for dinner here last month and it was pretty dang good. You walk in and all of the employees seemed really happy to be there and were very welcoming; which made a huge difference on our experience. I got the Jimbo Italian Hot Beef sandwich and it was kind of small, but pretty good. I also got a cup of clam chowder which was good as well, but IMO not worth the $9 for the little cup of soup. My friend and his family split a pizza and the pizza was pretty good as well. We all got a couple orders of their cannoli's and they were just okay. You get two really small cannoli's for $8. When in Rome, but those little guys weren't worth $4 a piece to me. I've heard about this place for a while and the food was really good. I just wish the prices reflected the quantity just a tad bit more. With that said, I would come back and try something else.

This establishment proves it is worth your effort to source out the local family-owned pizzerias. They specialize in brick oven pizzas and it was refreshing to find a place that didn't burn the crust! Their dough was very tasty and chewy. The sauce on their Margherita pizza was probably the best Roma-based sauce I've had. My daughter had the breakfast pizza and made similar remarks. I wanted a bite of the pepperoni but my 5-year-old granddaughter scarfed it up before I had a chance. I'll definitely return if I'm ever in the Omaha area again.

FOOD : we got a few orders - but i personally ordered the gluten free pizza with cheese, basil, and banana peppers. It wasn't too greasy which i liked and it had just the right amount of flavor in all the places it needed it. I love that it was straight out of the brick oven and cooked to perfection. I got the gluten free crust because it only had olive oil, whereas the other normal gluten pizzas have a mixture of olive oil oil and soy bean oil. The pizza was light because the crust was thin, but I still prefer the double zero Italian flour over the American flour overall it was a good pizza and I enjoyed it, however, still probably not in my top favorites for omaha! The table at large really enjoyed their pizzas, I think if you just want a quick basic pizza that's good and better than going to a fast food spot, this is a good choice, but if you're looking for high quality ingredients with local sourcing, this isn't it. Alas, it was still really good and we enjoyed our food! SERVICE : it definitely gave a mom and pop feel, we had exceptionally kind Service and really enjoyed the people that we met. They were extremely helpful and made it feel homey! ATMOSPHERE : Very much so a hole in the wall - I'm not going to lie, I was a bit turned off by the ceilings and the cleanliness of the place. I get a little bit freaked out when it comes to atmosphere / food so this was a bit of a downfall for me!

Next stop: Piezon's Pizzeria a neighborhood stronghold with a robust menu that offers plenty of choices without feeling overwhelming. For this session, I picked up: One slice of the Oh Mio Dio One slice of the Mahalo with jalapeños The standout of the encounter was the Oh Mio Dio. The combination of fiery chicken and cream cheese landed exactly where I like my pizza builds to be--bringing the perfect balance of heat and coolness in every bite. The Mahalo took a different path. Built with Canadian bacon, pineapple, and cream cheese, it already offers a unique take on a Hawaiian-style pizza. Adding jalapeños gave it just enough kick to complement the sweet and savory flavors without overwhelming them. I can see why it's my wife's favorite. The menu itself deserves credit. There's a lot to choose from, but it never feels complicated. Whether you're a seasoned adventurer or a first-time visitor, finding your next slice feels straightforward. What stuck with me most, though, was the atmosphere. The walls are filled with stories and adventures drawn by kids, while pizza trays signed by Husker fans cover the space with messages and memories. Everywhere you look, there's evidence that people care about this place and that this place cares about its community. Mootz isn't just the best pizza place in Omaha, it's in the running for the best Omaha restaurant…read morePERIOD! I was blown away by every aspect of Mootz. Get ready for a novel of a review! I warned you... The exterior of Mootz is basically the same as all of Countryside Village (which is probably a requirement), but the inside is a different story! The interior is all white and bright, and super clean. They really let the food and service do the talking without needing to dress the place up (which I appreciate!) The star of the show is their Acunto brick oven. It's gigantic, with white tile, and their Mootz name at the top. They had it made in Naples and it was definitely worth doing that for this amazing centerpiece of the space. And the oven is not just for looks, it puts out some of the best pizza I have ever had. I am not usually a fan of pizza crust, and only eat the main "body" of each slice, but at Mootz, even the dough and crust is flavorful and tasty! It has a salty and (super) semi-sweet flavor. It makes each slice all the better. That's just an example of how much they obviously care about the product they are producing. We got to chat with many of the staff, including Mootz himself, his dad, and others, who were all extremely welcoming, kind, and helpful. My husband and I are doing the ABCs of Omaha restaurants we haven't been to yet, and Mootz was our M pick. We didn't plan to tell them that's what we were doing, but when two people are ordering two whole pizzas, there's a little bit of explanation needed - LOL! Once they knew that was what we were doing, they made sure to help us pick the slices to try that they loved best, and based on what we were craving. What's great about Mootz is that you can order just a single slice of a certain flavor, or get a full pie of different flavored slices. Because of this, we were able to try 8 different flavors of pizza! We ordered slices of the Buffalo Chicken, Cheeseburger, Chicken Alfredo, and Jalapeño Oaxaca for one pizza, and then the second pie we did a lot of the normal pizza flavors, so slices of the Cheese, Pepperoni, Supreme, and Margherita. They were ALL fantastic (and I am not exaggerating), but our favorites were the Cheeseburger, Buffalo Chicken, Margherita, and Jalapeño Oaxaca. I'm a cheeseburger girlie and I achingly missed the Cheeseburger Pizza that Pizza Shoppe (RIP) used to have. But no more missing that flavor - the Mootz version is so great, it has satiated that craving! The Buffalo Chicken was BOMB! Not too spicy of a buffalo at all, and the chicken is juicy and flavorful. They make their own Ranch too, and the Buffalo Chicken dipped in that was perfection. (And in mentioning the house made ranch, we also had a side salad that we shared, with that ranch, and it was awesome - very well dressed and with lots of veggies!) The Jalapeño Oaxaca was a fave because I appreciated the heat that the jalapeño gave, and the crema on top giving it a creaminess that counterbalanced the spiciness. The surprise of the day was the Margherita! I normally don't order Margherita pizza just because it's not too full of toppings or flavor usually - but that's not the case at Mootz. The dough being so flavorful works wonderfully with their delicious pizza sauce, basil, and SO much cheese (parm, Romano, mozzarella). It's a lighter slice if you aren't wanting anything too heavy, but that doesn't mean it's not big on flavor! And to round out the meal, they have some awesome desserts too. We tried the tiramisu and the chocolate chip cookies. Tiramisu is my favorite dessert, but my husband on the other hand does not super enjoy it (since he's not a coffee lover). But we BOTH loved the tiramisu at Mootz! It comes in a little cup and it's almost "crumbled" (vs layered, like a normal tiramisu slice), which gives each bite a little bit of each layered flavor. Yum! The chocolate chip cookies were on point too; chewy, sweet, soft, and definitely homemade. We made a great decision to try Mootz for our M restaurant, because it was so dang amazing. I definitely recommend you go here for your next night out, immediately, right now! Do it!
